Red Hook Restaurant the Good Fork Will Reopen Briefly as a Chinese-American Pop-Up | Eater NY

"Operating as a two-month Chinese-American pop-up out of the Good Fork beginning March 4, Mr. Lee’s is run by 30-year-old chef Leland Yu and showcases a mix of the Chinese foods his parents and grandparents made and more American-Chinese takeout-style dishes. On the traditional side he’s offering a fragrant herbal chicken soup brewed with cloud ear mushrooms and lily buds—meant to evoke a home kitchen steaming all night—and on the American-Chinese side there are items like roasted Brussels sprouts and carrots with a sweet plum sauce described as “familiar but different,” plus a “super beefed out” and “luxurious” oxtail and tendon fried rice. Yu developed many of the dishes through pandemic-era private dinners, has organized fundraising runs for Chinatown charities, and is aiming to introduce Mr. Lee’s to a wider audience through takeout and delivery (Thursday–Sunday, 5:00–9:30 p.m.); the menu and online ordering are available online." - Erika Adams

Google
I really enjoy Mr Lee's Its your neighborhood corner bar thats been there forever, always has great food cold beer and nice patrons. Tues is wing night and they are known for exceptional wings and fries, which I can vouch for at $.50 each a real bargan!

Google
Best wings ever had in my life amazing there so big you can eat them with a fork lol

Google
This is absolutely the best chicken wing place in northeast Ohio, period. When we got there the place was packed, but the kitchen staff and bartenders all work together and it runs like a well oiled machine. They were pumping out perfectly cooked chicken wings that were to die for. The sauce and flavor selection is incredible. Everything we got was perfect from the food to the cold, stiff drinks, I just can't say enough about this place.

Google
These wings absolutely lived up to their reputation as the best. Coming from Buffalo, I can confidently say they compare well to many of the great spots there. The staff was incredibly friendly, and while the place has a cool bar vibe, it was also very accommodating for my family with small kids. If you're in the area, or just passing through, it's a must-stop for wings!

Google
Wings were way overcooked Update: Tried them again last week and they were good.Thought maybe they just a rough day the last time.Went tonight, overcooked wings agian. Then the guy working last week told us if we wanted to order more wings to go it would still be 50 cents a wing. That was a lie.All in all I will probably never go back again.

Google

Yelp
By far the best wings around. Best tasting, best selection. I have not found a better wing in the area. They are always so tender and the flavors are amazing. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Just tried this place for the first time with my husband and two kids (8&6). I had a burger and fries. You get A LOT of fries and the burger was good! I didn't try one of their specialty burgers but the burgers are definitely gigantic. I got beer cheese with the fries and that was yummy! My husband got wings with a spicy mango sauce (I think) and he liked those as well. My younger got chicken tenders and they were pretty standard fare. My daughter also got a plain burger and she liked it. We also tried the mozz sticks, onion rings and pizza rolls. Only one woman was working the bar and serving the tables (it was not busy) and she was super nice and helpful with choosing items off the menu. She was sweet and playful with the kids. I think she said her name was "V" (Vee? vi?) I think it was a pretty quiet day there, I have a feeling it probably gets a little loud and crazy in there (think a lot of bikers like the place maybe just not on Sundays) so it worked out to be a good time for us and the kids. The server/bartender said they are working on getting some new menus so I definitely want to go back when those are updated and the outdoor seating is available! I think for the amount of food you get vs the cost really made it high value. If anything I would like maybe a 4 or 6 ounce burger on the menu. But I'm sure hungry guys appreciate a cheap (but good) 1/2 pounder! Overall, place feels like a dive bar but they have good food and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Yelp
It was OK. Been in Perry for several track meets, and we would drive past this place all the time. Finally went in to see what this place was like. I enjoy a good dive bar. I got a burger and fries, wife and son got the grilled chicken wrap. The Burger was OK. The wraps were good, the chicken was a little grisly, but OK. Like everything was OK. Loved the fresh cut fries. The bill was about $40 for the 3 of us, not too shabby.

Yelp
I ordered the golden bbq wings from the Mr. Lee's food truck at the Cleveland Taco Fest and they were easily some of the best wings I've ever had

Kelly A.

Yelp
First time here, went for lunch special. 6 wings & fries. Had garlic parm and they were delicious! Huge portion of fresh cut fries too! Dive bar with total bar atmosphere, good service too. Good value for the money. Will go back in the Summer when we can sit on the patio. Menu pics current as of 10/2023.

Yelp
my buddies and I wanted to stop and get some wings some place and my friends had mentioned mr. Lee's has pretty good wings so we decided to head out and see what was up and what the fuss was all about As we were there on a Sunday there are plenty of folks there as well presumably for football games to drink beer and eat wings. First thing I noticed is there was definitely not a place you would bring your family. Meaning that they were more mother effer and f-bombs and GD sob being spouted from a fella who we learn was the previous owner of the place. What I gathered he had sold the place but still hangs out there will just fine however... Our server was nice enough and the wings certainly were tasty but they were a little on the lean meat side and I have had better wings with a little more meat on the bone. I really had no problem with the food the server or the drink but I would really like to enjoy a conversation with my friend without a drunk a hole in the background shouting mother effer at every opportunity it really kind of ruined any sort of dining experience that I would want to replicate.

Yelp
great food excellent staff!! recommend to friends and family all the time! best wings around!!

Dan N.

Yelp
Food and service are always top notch. Placed an online order, I arrived a little early. I was promptly greeted, they informed me they were just waiting on the wings. I waited just a few minutes then received my order. The best wings and bar food in Lake county.

Yelp
Okay so move over everyone! the food is still fantastic the wings the best you're ever going to find and now the new owners have taken this place to a whole new level! It's still got a full bar and still got fast service it's still got TVs everywhere but now they also realize that patrons have families. Breakfast bar delicious and best part when you have small kids it's ready to go when you get there. Coffee's hot and strong; bacon is crispy delicious and spot-on perfect. Years of little kids means we only ordered carryout and we have missed with this place has turned into - we showed up on a sunday where we brought friends from out of town and the new owners had a full-on trick or trunk event with a fire truck and an ambulance for the kiddos. Super nice folks all passed out candy and the staff here had crafts and pumpkins along with hot chocolate for the kids. Best way to make a parent a lifelong customer is to treat their kids good mr. Lee's knocked it out of the park. Bottom line you came here when you were single or a couple for the wings and the drinks; bring them as a fam and start them early on wings - raise them right - just please remember the road outside is 50 miles an hour and a country road the people do not expect kids next to.

Yelp
The wings here are to die for well worth a stop in if you have a taste for wings! the staff is friendly and the service is excellent!

Yelp
Numnummy in my tummy I think it's a little better for you but you don't need a mask for me to do it with your brain lol

Yelp
Best place we found! Live the wings and pork rinds. Been going for 5 years now. We even make the drive from Lorain!

Dave S.

Yelp
The local watering hole that serves up good, cold drinks but also some amazing food too. The chicken wings are great with almost too many options to choose from. Burgers- awesome! The fries keep me coming back (fresh cut). The best item on the menu? Spicy cheese curds are incredible. They have some backend heat that screams at your taste buds- EAT ME!!!

Yelp
Absolutely the best wings in the area hands down. They have more sauce choices then any other place as well they make good burgers. It's a hole in the wall place with good chicken and burgers they have all kinds of seasonings it's very good. Bars a little small but there is a open dining room.

Yelp
I have heard people rant and rave about how good the wings are at Mr. Lees. So, about a year ago, i decided to go there and give them a try and I was very disappointed. We sat there waiting to order for 20 min then sat there watching other patrons walking out hungry and upset for an hour while we waited for our wings. Not a good first impression. Come to find out their cook had quit that night. That being said, I decided to give them a second chance at redemption, and gave them another try. Now, before I continue, I must inform you that I love wings, and I'm literally 1 mile away, from my front door to theirs, making this an ideal hot spot for me to eat. I ordered wings and was told they would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I walked into the restaurant 15 minutes later figuring I would have a drink while I waited the extra 5 minutes for the food. Low and behold, to my surprise, the food was ready and waiting. I paid, and headed right home, they smelled so good and I had been looking forward to these wings all day! I opened the box, took out a wing and took a bite. Once again....I was disappointed! SMH, The wings were dry and overcooked, it was like eating chicken jerky! I'm not sure what the rave about them is, I think the wings at Dominoes are better, and that's not a compliment to Dominoes either. So, In short, I would suggest going someplace else for food until they can get the kitchen under better management! As for the atmosphere, it's kinda biker ish, not a family type of setting, but then again, what bar is?

Yelp
This is a very casual dive type bar! The wings are excellent and the service is great! Taylor the bartender was helpful in our selection of wings and she was as sweet as she could be! They have a jukebox if you want to play music. Just a fun cheap place to eat and drink with friends and family! I recommend stopping in if you're looking for good food and good service!

Yelp
Amazing wings. The cinnamon chipotle are my favorite. Wonderful people own the place and it's always good to support local.

Yelp
If you're looking for good bar food Mr Lee's is the place to go! They have every kind of wing sauce you've never even heard of. I'm kind of addicted to the Smokey Bacon Ranch- very unique flavor, but very good. The loaded fries are the best I've ever had and the onion rings are really good too. We were there this past weekend and we were there with another couple, separate checks. Their food all came out before ours so we had to wait a bit and watch them eat while we waited for ours. Otherwise, service was ok, prices are average. Check it out!

Suzanne S.

Yelp
I would have passed this place by but on the recommendation of a "friend " I stopped in. Its an unassuming local bar with the most awesome food and the friendliest wait staff I think I've ever encountered. The wings were prepared from fresh, not frozen, crispy with a very generous amount of sauce. You are not limited to how many sauces you can order. They have quite a few unique house sauces. The quesadilla was fresh, crispy and had a very generous amount of cheese and the pico de gallo salsa was also freshly made. Prices are good. I will definitely be back

Eric K.

Yelp
Awesome place for wings and Beer!! Mary one of the bartenders will not let you down ....she is awesome!! Try the Cajun Ranch wings.....has to be the best around!

Debra H.

Yelp
We've never actually eaten here. As a local (backyard neighbor), we've done take-out wings and have enjoyed the wide variety. There are new owners, and I've been hearing that the place is more family friendly than it used to. We can hear their music, and it seems to be standard rock. Other locals say that it is run by a pretty nice family, so I may have to do some outdoor dining there. Wings are good, takeout breaded avocado was super spicy and kind of gummy. Ditto for the fries. I think those things are best eaten on-site.

Yelp
I hope this isn't the norm but stopped in on a recent Saturday. Got in early enough to beat the rush.. ordered 10 wings and my companion ordered the shrimp dinner. Also a motz stick appetizer. Lite beer and pinot noirs out promptly. Shrimp dinner out in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later no wings nor motz sticks. Another beer and wine and ask about wings and appetizer. Was informed they gave my wings to another customer? Forgot to put the sticks in. Motz sticks out 5 min later. No wings. Of course motz sticks are frozen solid inside. Return sticks.. wings come out 45 min after ordering. Motz another 5 min. Order one more round and the red wine turns into a white wine. I feel jesus is serving now. Should have just ordered water so he could perform a freaking miracle. Jesus brought our a red wine. Server left for the day. No coleslaw with dinner. No apologies. No break on FULL tab. I will not return with or without her.

Coffee S.

Yelp
So, shocker alert: Dive bars don't serve craft brewed India Piss ales, you hipster douche-bags! What part of red neck dive bar did you miss? They got beer, it's domestic and on tap! They have chicken wings with a shit ton of different sauces, and every gut busting appetizer you could ask for. Eat, drink, and be merry, for this last bastion of pure, honest Americana should be embraced and loved for what it is, not criticized for what it isnt.

Lynn K.

Yelp
Wings are awesome at Mr. Lee's! Only problem is deciding flavors! We love the garlic parmesan! We will be going every Tuesday for wing night!

Yelp
Ok, so ya feel like being crazy? Not like walking from your friends $300,000 Tremont row house to Prosperity for Moscow Mules in the dark kina crazy, I mean driving to the middle of nowhere, going to a townie bar and trying the best damn wings you will get anywhere kinda crazy. Sure, there were skidmarks in the parking lot and random white power imagery on the shitter stalls but the wings here are the second best only to Sweetwater in Detroit. Ultimately, I think Sweetwaters were so good because I was hammered and (possibly) on PCP both times I was there. Me Lees is not an Asian restaurant, but that might get Yelpers to come here. Seems Yelpers only eat food from random, mostly poor places of the globe now. Wings and beer are too bla-se these days. They have SO many flavors I cant begin to describe. The very nice barmaid told us about loclas that come every-other Saturday and try two of each flavor, starting from the top of the list. I need to do this. We had French onion soup and buffalo mild. Both had SO many layers of flavor I cant begin to describe. They even have dill pickle! As I write this I am eating the leftovers, the keyboard is smeared with wing sauce and Im not even mad. This place rules. Don't be a wuss, grab your lady (of guy), take a lil road trip and make an afternoon of it. Get wings, play pool, drink some cold beers and chat up locals. Like people used to do before they became gentrified weaklings...

Dominic W.

Yelp
Very nice family friendly restaurant/bar. Their wings are amazing I've been there multiple times and they have been better and better each time.
