MR. MAURICE’S ITALIAN Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

Very cute and quaint place at the top of a hotel. They have a nice outdoor seating area with heated lamps or you can sit inside as well. We had the rigatoni and the Quattro formaggi Pizza which were both fantastic. Server was good, spoke English and was very attentive. Would come back again!

We ate twice at Mr Maurice’s Italian & Rooftop Bar at Ace Hotel Kyoto, once with a reservation and once without, and both visits were relaxed and welcoming. Good, unfussy Italian food (the cacio e pepe was excellent), attentive service, and a spacious layout where you don’t feel on top of other diners. Rooftop bar open even in December is a bonus. Drinks were the weak point — wine and Aperol Spritz felt a little light — but overall a very solid and enjoyable option.

Kid friendly restaurants with baby chair and kid menu. Both outdoor and indoor seating. Suitable for lunch time. Located in the Ace Hotel. Love all the pastas and appetizers. Pizza was a bit salty, and the grill fish is bit overcooked.

Located on the third floor, with a roof top garden area. Seating options with dining area as well as bar and outdoor seating options. Wood fired oven pizza, good selection of pasta. Service is impeccable 5/5 for service everyone on the team was organized and well coordinated. Staff is very attentive and active. Kid friendly Restaurant, our 4 year old son loved the pizza and was very comfortable with the seating option. Pasta was amazing, simple yet well balanced taste. Pizza also was very good and the olive oil topped on the pizza also was very high end. Would highly recommend to locals and tourists, if your craving Italian food you should try Maurice.

Had an unforgettable experience at Mr. Maurice’s Italian, a stunning rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar perched on highest floor at Ace Hotel Kyoto. With breathtaking views of the lively Shinpukan below, it was the perfect place to indulge in incredible flavours crafted by the legendary Chef Marc Vetri. Named after his grandfather, Maurice Rotenberg, who ran a beloved family restaurant in Philadelphia, this place brings together rich history and exceptional food. A truly memorable dining experience!

As my friend suggested, I went there on my birthday and got the five-course dinner set menu along with a strawberry sparkling cocktail. The food was very basic, and nothing stood out to me. The dessert was horrible, dried, and the cocktail wasn’t worth the price just cheap-tasting Prosecco with a sliced strawberry on top. It didn’t taste like strawberry at all despite what was described on the menu. Maybe the à la carte options are better, but the set course meal was really disappointing. Service very slow, for 5 course meal there were only one spoon and fork Atmosphere a bit off, table setting really poorly managed, for example there is no round or square table, for group people, if you are 7 one person has to seat alone at the end of the table facing no one.

Excellent service and atmosphere after a long day. We ordered a ceasar salad to share which was excellent 5/5. Had 2 glasses of wine and split a pizza half Margherita and half pepperoni. Both were delicious. Only complaint would be the amount of toppings. Barely enough to cover the dough.

the worst food ever… to be honest the fried soft shell crab and shrimp was overcooked as hard as rock The pasta was like left from other’s table… The antipasto was ok but low than average level at this price. I’m really wondering if there's a cook in the kitchen. Everything is made without care and soul. Ace hotel is so lovely, but the food in this restaurant is such a disaster. I hate to say this but I have to.
