"Mr. Moto, which opened its flagship Pacific Beach restaurant in 2015, has since expanded across San Diego with locations in Point Loma, North Park, Little Italy, and Seaport Village as well as Phoenix, Arizona. Scheduled to open in late March or early April, the incoming Kearny Mesa branch is replacing Red Moon in one of the area’s busiest plazas, where its neighbors will include the Taco Stand and O’Brien’s Pub. The 1,000-square-foot restaurant will serve Mr. Moto’s eight specialty pizzas, including the Hulk, a red pie topped with four meats, and the Furious Diablo, a Buffalo chicken pizza, along with several salads, pasta, and sides." - Candice Woo

I genuinely love that Mr. Moto pizza has arrived in this area. I’ve had Mr. moto at multiple locations and this is my favorite location. Additionally, the unique menu at this location has Asian influences with beef bulgogi on one of their pizzas. I truly think this is their best location and I don’t want to go to any other location. The service was impeccable. Our cashier/server was so attentive and informative about the menu. He said the shrimp carbonara is his favorite pasta so we tried it and it was amazing. I loved all the flavors of the shrimp and pasta sauce. Pizzas here are the best. All the doughs are made from scratch and they heat up well the next day. The salad was fresh and tasty. I love the garlic knots and sometimes I’ll be in the mood for a stuffed knot. The only thing I would not try again are the chicken wings and it is only because the dry rub on it was not that tasty to me. If they change the dry rub I may get it again. I will return to try more items. Ambiance: is very hip and cool with vivid red leather booths, urban lighting, and the presentation for the pizzas and entrees are beautiful. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!! I will try the shrimp pizza, dessert and their other pastas next time.

Google
Good pizza, but they don't take cash. If my money isn't good enough, they don't deserve my business.

Called in for a pickup, got there about 25 mins after I ordered, and pizzas still had about 10 mins left to cook after the young lady at the register greeted me with a look of "Oops, I think I forgot"....30 mins after that the pizzas were ready. Got them home, took a bite and my taste buds were greeted with the strongest salt taste ive ever had on a pizza. Almost like the salt bottle top fell off into the sauce or the cheese. It was horrible, the level of saltiness was making the slices inedible. To make it even more eventful, as I was waiting for my pizza I only saw the cashier twice. She was in the back and it was the customers knocking on the side of the wall getting her attention. I have a few friends that swear Moto makes a really good pizza but after today its for sure a never again pizza for me.

Google
We got the "Piece of Art" pizza and the flavor was fantastic, but what we loved the most were the stuffed knots with marinera sauce. I would also recommend the asian sauce wings whic had just the right amount of heat. The service was great and friendly. We would definitely come back again!

Google
We went here after work with the team and it was awesome. Great food and great service. Staff is very friendly. Very reasonably priced. All the pizzas we got were delicious and the salads were great. Parking is a pain but it’s worth it!

Google
Didn't inform that it will be a 2-hour wait. Waited 2 hours for nothing, and all we got was a refund (we had to ask for it). Waited 3 days and didn't get the refund. Called the manager today (the manager didn't apologize) he just processed the refund (didn't apologize for not processing the refund correctly the first time). Just amazing...

Google
Such a bad experience and extremely rude with customers. Regardless you can not be dealing with attitude and such manner with people coming to enjoy your pizza. Waiting over half an hour to get our food also.

Google
Pizza and garlic knots absolutely amazing. Not sure why they are only 3.5 stars. They deserve more for sure.

Yelp
I've been to a few other locations of this franchise which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I was excited they opened up this location which was a bit closer. When I came in, there were limited individual pizza slices available. My significant other got the meat lovers slice and I got the cheese/tomato slice--both pretty good. Love the thin crust! We saw the lady who helped served us just grab the slice of pizza with a pair of tongs and carried it across the hall to put into the oven, a few more inches then the pizza would have been on the ground. Inside was quiet & You will have to ask for more napkins if you want more than 1.

Yelp
Mr. Moto can always be counted on for making great New York Style Pizza which was certainly the case here at this new location on Convoy. The only draw back at this location is that they only offer a choice of three pies for their by the slice specials, so that is limited, but you can order the 10" or larger with the toppings you want. The choices they had on this visit were cheese, pepperoni, and the mama moto. I had the Pepperoni and the mama moto. One thing you got to love about their pepperoni is that they use those delicious Sicilian style pepperonis. As a result, they are small, but packed with flavor and have great texture. The crust on both of then slices was great. It was on the thinners side, but had a great chew. The mama moto was very good too. The garlic paste in the base of this particular pizza is very good. Andrea, the young lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful. Only inside seating is available at this location. Do you know what else is available at this location? Garlic knots stuffed with mozzarella and ground sausage. Yep, sounds delicious right?

Yelp
We received a flyer for living near this new location prior to their opening. It was a coupon for 50% entire order and a free spin of their wheel. We've had their pizza in other locations so were happy to have a location closer to where we live. However, they've chosen the worst plaza for parking in Convoy. This parking lot is a nightmare during lunch/dinner hours. People become aggressive in an already tight space, and many people leave their cars idle as they wait for their food orders (for pickups). We were committed to use the flyer, but honestly don't see us coming often simply because it's a very horrible plaza to find parking in. We ordered a Convoy Twist and Piece of Art pizzas in 10 inches. This was a great amount of food for the two of us. The employee told me the kitchen was running a little behind and gave us an estimated wait time of about 15-20 minutes. It ended up taking just about 40 minutes. Other customers were also becoming disgruntled with the long wait and it became a topic of discussion amongst us. I'm not sure what the cause was or if they just weren't quite ready to open for full service. I was also confused by the employee not letting me spin the wheel as the flyer I brought clearly says "spin the wheel for free". When I asked her about it, she said "no, I don't even know what you're talking about". She was the only staff in the front side of the restaurant and since they were busy, I just let it go without arguing. The pizzas themselves are tasty. The Piece of Art was a winner between us. It had plenty curly pepperonis and the warm cheesy goodness. However, any other day, I would not wait 40 minutes. In that timeframe I could assemble and bake a pizza of similar caliber at home. I hope that was just a one time fluke and service is smoother now.

Yelp
I'm a loyal customer to @mrmotopizza and having another location in Convey street is an interesting news to me, They have an additional new menu, variety of delicious options and highly recommended, Their grand opening is tomorrow 07/19/2023 and they will have special offers you don't want to miss out.

Jocy C.

Yelp
There is a Mr Moto Pizza on Convoy / Kearny Mesa / San Diego! One of my foodie friends invited me here for a Grand Opening event in July 2023. I tried the following: - Pizza (Convoy Twist) - Garlic Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Bulgogi Beef, Red Onions, Green Onions, Sesame Seed, Sriracha (equivalent), and Chili Oil - Wings - we tried it with Asian Sauce - Shrimp Carbonara - Tagliatelle, Carbonara, Shrimp I'm a fan of Mr Moto Pizza. The whole Convoy area is Asian related foods, so this one sticks out. Spread the word! There is a Mr Moto on Convoy! ENJOY!!

Yelp
I'm thrilled that Mr. Moto pizza has finally made its debut in our area, and I can confidently say that this particular location has become my absolute favorite. What sets it apart is its enticing menu with a delightful fusion of Asian flavors, like the delectable beef bulgogi pizza. The service here is top-notch; our cashier/server was incredibly attentive and provided insightful menu guidance. We got a salad, large pizza, pasta, plain and stuffed garlic knots, and wings. Based on his recommendation, we tried the shrimp carbonara pasta, and it was nothing short of amazing. The blend of shrimp and pasta sauce flavors were outstanding. Their pizzas are a true standout, all crafted from scratch, and they even reheat nicely for the next day's enjoyment. The fresh and flavorful salad, along with the addictive garlic knots (sometimes stuffed), are definite winners. The only item I might skip next time are the chicken wings due to a less appealing dry rub, but if they make improvements, I'd reconsider. I'm already looking forward to returning to explore more of their offerings this month. As for the ambiance, it's hip and cool, with vibrant red leather booths, urban lighting, and stunning presentations of both pizzas and entrees. Don't miss out on this gem - do yourself a favor and pay a visit! I've got my eye on trying the shrimp pizza, desserts, and more pasta options. I love the unique offerings and plan to do catering in the future for my parties. They ask that you give them atleast a 24 hour notice S since they do a lot of catering.

Trevor M.

Yelp
This is the most unique Mr. Motos that I've been to. They had some food items that were only available at Convoy. I also haven't seen the wheel at any other motos. Loved the theme here. The girl at the counter was very nice. Mr Motos rules!

Tracie M.

Yelp
I love Mr. Moto and was excited to see them open this spot in the Convoy area. Only drawback is the parking in this complex is horrible and they only offer 3 options for slices and no garlic knots. They do offer menu items that are only exclusive to this location. I would highly recommend the the shrimp carbonara pasta and the convoy twist pizza. Both of those were really yummy. And you have the option to get a personal size pie, which is the 10inches instead of the 18. Great addition to the area.

Hannah W.

Yelp
came here for their grand opening and got lucky that we were early enough to beat the line! we ordered the California love and Italian lovers. huge pies, great crust and flavors! my dad mistakenly confused the Italian lovers as meat lovers + Italian sausage so he was very disappointed that it actually didn't have any meat on it but that's totally on him; the pizza itself was pretty good and very garlicky. the california was good too, a great combo of chicken, bacon, and ranch. prob wouldn't come back if we had to pay full price. $28 is a lot for a pizza that doesn't come with protein tbh. great funky flavors tho if you're looking for something different!

Jacs P.

Yelp
They only offer certain pizzas as slices and everything else will be either 10 inches or 18 inches. There isn't any labels or prices on the slices of pizzas so it's a bit confusing. There wasn't a list of sodas either. There's no official menu posted so you wouldn't know they offer some side items such as garlic knots. I got the drunken grandma, pieces of art, stinky, and shrimp daddy. (10 inches) Our total was 65$. The pizza overall is not bad. The dough tastes very fresh. My favorite was the drunken grandma. I would say the pizzas are decent but my over all experience was average. The restaurant is cute and clean. However, there's no music playing so it's awkwardly silent. So awkward where it's uncomfortable. The worker seemed not happy. She didn't offer us menus to look at. I didn't know there was other sides and items you could get. Also, I paid 50cent for ranch and my ranch up was only half filled.

Crystal R.

Yelp
I'm sad to see this location close only because it was so close to home but I can tell you why. It all comes down to bad customer service and trying to be different in their pizza selection. The pizza quality was never the same as the other branches. The workers would get orders wrong or forget to even make it. When they opened they had this odd menu of pizzas that aren't served at other locations. So we just didn't go here and drive to the others. I love Motos pizza and I hope they can open up again in the area with better workers and the same menu as the originals.

Drew S.

Yelp
Always have a memorable experience here at this upcoming pizza spot. Fernanda is especially a great addition to this place with her great customer service. I hope this place stays for good bc it's the only pizza place worth going around here.

Brandi R.

Yelp
Their location in Little Italy is so delicious that my husband and I we're excited about this location opening near us. Today we treated ourselves to pizza for dinner. We ordered a large convoy twist & were majorly disappointed with what we received.

Triston G.

Yelp
Solid pizza and probably the best in convoy. wings are good and the ranch is perfect. Got pickup and it was quick. overall solid 9.5/10

Yelp
I really enjoyed Mr. Moto's pizza in North Park and when my friends and I saw that this one was open, we decided to check it out. The parking on Convoy is well, Convoy parking so unless you go at an offpeak hour, you'll have to park in another plaza. Despite how crowded the plaza was, Mr. Moto's was pretty empty. Unlike the North Park location, they had very few flavors by the slice so we opted to get half of Convoy Pizza and half of the Shrimp Pizza. The 18-inch one came with 8 slices, which was 2 slices per person. I wasn't sure if I'd like the Convoy Pizza because a lot of the fusion food that I've had is a hit or miss but this was so delicious. It's a unique blend of their Korean bulgogi with green onion and sriracha. The shrimp pizza was also good! There were very few pieces of shrimp, which I honestly liked because I don't like shrimp that much. It was very cheesy and like the Convoy Pizza, the dough was soft and had a nice fluffiness. The North Park location had more options, however, I will definitely come back here for the Convoy Pizza! Service here was quick and the server helped us decide what to get!

Han B.

Yelp
I've heard good things about Mr. Moto so I was excited when they opened closer to where I lived! I ordered online and picked up 30 minutes later. 1 large Piece of Art - pepperoni, parmesan, basil and hot honey. The flavor of the sauce and toppings were good. I tasted only small hints of honey flavor so I wish there was a little more of the hot honey on there. I wasn't a huge fan of the thick heavy crust. I prefer more airy and light but I still enjoyed the flavor! I would like to try some of their other pizzas in the future but I don't know if I will since I'm not a fan of the crust. If you like thick and heavy crust you'll enjoy it! Just not my personal preference :). Service was fast and easy when I came to pick up the pizza. The lady working was very nice! I also love the way they designed front of the building! Definitely makes them stand out in the crowded lot full of restaurants. This parking lot is a huge mess so I would avoid going during peak hours on the weekends/Friday nights. Parking spots are small and very little for the amount of restaurants there. Street parking is a second option but you'll probably have to park far in the back.

Vic G.

Yelp
We walked in and it was empty BUT I can't figure out why. Delicious food, INCREDIBLE service, cute little spot. This is our new pizza place.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
After going with my family for late night dinner, we were amazed on how incredibly good the pizza was. Not only the food was great but customers service was on point, I definitely recommend this place, and I will tell everyone where to get the best pizza in town.

Nicole P.

Yelp
It's so nice to finally have a good place for pizza takeout in the convoy area. Mr Moto didn't disappoint. I got the Piece of Art and some stuffed garlic knots. The garlic knots were the star of the show for sure. They're huge and tasty. The pizza was great too. I would get it again. Only downside is parking.

Andrew U.

Yelp
Pricey for the pizza you get. crust was chewy, substandard. toppings scarce. will not repeat

Amber V.

Yelp
Pizza was great, stuffed knots were ok just wish they had non stuffed knots. It is not a kid friendly place, no high chairs and no windows so our two year old could not be strapped down to eat and constantly wanted to try and climb out the ledge where windows would be. Staff was nice, I just wouldn't go back because it's not a kid friendly place and a little expensive for what I would normally get.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
I loooooove this pizza joint! So fresh and so good. A bit pricey but so worth it! I love how they have chains everywhere and the quality is the same no matter which location you go to!

Christopher B.

Yelp
What a disappointing visit to Pizza joint that is normally quite a positive experience as my wife and I have been going to Mr Moto Pizza for a long time now as there are several locations here in San Diego. I decided to visit this new location today for lunch. While ordering the lady at the counter wasn't very attentive and was too busy having a conversion with both AirPods in her ears. Having to clarify myself four times that I wanted a specific slice of pizza, it didn't dawn on her to remove her AirPods and then provided to give attitude for no reason because I asked her for the correct slice after she had taken it out of the glass case. The food was average at best, having shared pasta, and a few slices with my wife. There isn't much else to comment on the food sadly. The place inside was dead, no customers inside during the lunch rush was quite surprising as the other locations are always busy. But after today's experience, I can understand why this was the case. Considering the other restaurants in the same strip mall never give bad customer service even though they are packed with long queue times. Very disappointing for the brand as their food is usually very flavorful and on point. Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone I know, unfortunately.

Robert A.

Yelp
I ordered a pizza for pick-up in an hour on a Friday. An hour later, I showed up, and the pizza wasn't ready. Thirty minutes later, it's clear this pizza isn't coming. The entire store was filled with upset customers without their food. I asked for a refund, and they processed it and showed me the receipt. Four days later, the refund has not been processed, which has apparently happened to multiple other people. I've called numerous times to resolve this, only to be ducked by managers and given placating excuses about someone messing up the refunds, processing them incorrectly, needing authorization, etc. Do not order from here. I am out both time and money for my troubles, with no refund in sight.

Christina K.

Yelp
We were so excited to come here to eat,my family and I arrive and end up waiting at the front end to order our pizza for 15 minutes.Literally we weren't greeted for 15 minutes! My hubs left and said this is rediculous....I call just to see what's up and the guy answers saying I'm so sorry I was attending to a party." He said come back in and I will serve you! Long story short we didn't go back...service was a fail.

Marla N.

Yelp
I had a fifty percent off coupon and thought I would try this place. I ordered a medium mamma mia and a tiramisu to go. I paid and when I got home I realized they hadn't given me a receipt. I was overcharged. The coupon was fifty percent off the complete order and I believe they only took fifty percent off the pizza and charged full price for the tiramisu. That was bad enough, But frankly the pizza and the tiramisu were not good at all. Pizza was super salty and very greasy. The dessert had no flavor at all. I will never go back.

Alan A.

Yelp
Got here at 8:30pm when they close at 9pm and they were already setting chairs on top of the tables so I asked if they were still open and got a "yes" with an attitude. After i got the pizza they told me i could set a chair down if i wanted to. I sat down and they started sweeping the floors and blowing the dust up in the air. I obviously got up right away and left as i dont want all that dust falling on my food. Horrible service never coming back again. Not the way to treat customers after you just opened.

Eugene K.

Yelp
This place is horrible! I ordered a pepperoni pizza there and a calzone. Was about 59 dollars the food was horrible! Horrible product and taste salty and not good ate two bites and threw it out. Called and said I left a bad review the manager told me to take it down for a refund so I changed it. The. They reported me saying I was threatening them with bad review when it was the other way around they told me to take it down for a refund. Now I will not care about my refund of 50 and just rite my true thoughts about the business. Most the five star reviews have to be fake! This place hands down is horrible! And the way they tried to take down my bad review was just crazy to me!

Samaira P.

Yelp
Not good for kids. The menu options are limited and are not appealing to my 12 and 5 year old. I also felt that it was a bit pricey and did not include enough sauce. Would not recommend.

Danielle C.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing! Very tasty! The customer service was awesome! Camila was the employee who helped me and she was very kind and friendly with me! I love it! I highly recommend to try this place and I will definitely go back there often!

Domo L.

Yelp
Every time I go into Mr Moto pizza I get great service. The food is awesome!! Gibron is a great guy too, good people are needed to run great businesses. I can't wait to go back for another Pie made by the best.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Service & Food were REALLY GOOD!!!! I was greeted upon arrival & kept updated on when my food would be ready.

Camila D.

Yelp
Overpriced pizzas. Poor service and the place smells like sewage the two we have gone. It is always empty for a reason. Go anywhere else on convoy.

John S.

Yelp
Love Mr. Moto, love convoy, a match made in heaven. Extremely tasty New York style pizza. My advice to the owners : offer all pies at all locations ! In any case, a da life long Kearny Mesa resident, this is easily the best pie in the area. Well worth a visit. Park in an adjacent lot if you have to

Brandon N.

Yelp
This place was amazing. The restaurant design/decorations, customer service, and food quality was of the best quality every restaurant should stride for. My friends and I, were able to come in on the opening day and luckily we were the first customers of this fine establishment. We were able to meet Mr Moto himself and he was such a nice and welcoming person. The pizza we ordered was called Piece of Art and it was such a perfect combination of the savory and sweet with the hot honey. It wasn't spicy so those that are scared of spice should not worry at all. I was very impressed by how flavorful the pizza was and the pizza's crust quality. It was able to hold up to its own and was consistently crispy throughout the whole pie. I highly recommend anyone in the convoy area to try this pizza place. It was really cool seeing how they crafted the menu to match the environment of the convoy location. This pizza joint is a perfect fit for convoy and it is here to stay.
