Mr. Sandwich

This was my first time going to Mr Sandwich and it will be my last. The Sandwich was disgusting and the shop had a very bad smell. The awful smell alone should have been a warning. I normally don’t leave reviews but my experience was so awful I need to warn others. DO NOT COME HERE. I got a “Philly cheesesteak” (not on their store menu but it is on their to-go menu) and the sandwich was disgusting!! I’m not exaggerating, it was absolutely disgusting and after taking a couple bites I intended to go inside to demand a refund but they closed (how convenient). First off, this so-called “Philly cheesesteak” was not a Philly cheesesteak at all. Philly cheesesteaks are supposed to be grilled steak with onions, peppers etc and melted cheese. What I got was roast beef (!!!) with diced onions…not grilled at all btw (!)… and tomato’s and some disgusting white sauce that had a tanginess to it. Now that I think about it, that tanginess probably meant the sauce had expired (whatever it was). I am so upset. Worse still, it cost almost $20. Anyway, like I said, I wanted to take it back and get a refund but they closed up pretty much as soon as I left. I ended up just throwing the sandwich away…but not before I took some pictures so you can see the mess I’m talking about. Obviously I regret coming here and I regret the money I wasted. I will never go back and I advise others to avoid this place.

Mr. Sandwich is a fantastic find in Irvine! Their sandwiches are fresh, flavorful, and loaded with quality ingredients. The bread is soft, and they don’t skimp on portions—every bite is satisfying! The service is fast and friendly, making the whole experience even better. They have plenty of great options to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Plus, parking is very easy, which is always a huge plus in this area. Definitely a spot worth checking out—I’ll be back for sure! 🥪🔥

We have been eating here for years and love the chicken salad sandwich. Today we went and got 1/2 scoop of chicken salad for a whole sandwich and it didn’t taste as good. Must be new owners but we won’t go back.

Not sure how they got all these positive review. Sandwich was mediocre. Handed me the bag and it felt so light. $13.00 BLT and it probably had MAX 3-4 slices of bacon and they hardly put lettuce or tomatoes. I come here like once a year when I'm sick tired of the other food around the area during my lunch break and always remember why I never come back. The dam pickles where like the cheapest kind you can buy from suppliers. They better be making the bread fresh from scratch if they are charging these inflated prices for such a light sandwich.

Commute about once a month to the area... This is ALWAYS my go to lunch spot. DayYUMmmmmm!!! Best Sandwiches EVER!!!! Awesome people run this establishment. Highly recommend!

Sandwiches are always fresh and taste great. Service great with little wait after ordering. We try to stop here when in Newport Beach.

I just came here for the first time and I got a turkey sandwhich. the sandwhich was just falling apart and had a disgusting amount of mayo on it. Whoever made it truly did not care at all to make a decent sandwhich. Definitely won’t be coming back.

I turned off Jamboree to grab anything quick before getting back on the road and saw this sandwich shop on the corner of the center and figured I would give it a shot. Holy Cow I was amazed at how fresh the bread was, the meat was enough to fill me up, and the flavor was incredible. I got the Pastrami with mushrooms and cheese with everything on it and I was very pleased with everything about both the service and the food. The Cook in the back shot me a look as if he knew I was about to be amazed, and he was right. I am not in that area very often but when I am in Irvine I will be eating here again. Now I have a reason to travel that direction from Orange just to have good fresh food. I will certainly be back and I want to bring someone with me next time just to show off the gem I found, like I am a modern day adventurer looking for hidden treasures or something. I have a very strict diet at home of Non-GMO/ organic food and fast food always makes me feel ill after eating, this did not affect me the way chain fast food meals do, again, I will be back. I was pretty hungry and was interested to try this spot after passing it a few times. Upon entering we were welcomed and gave a quick rundown of the menu. We decided to order two of"the monsters" with all the condiments and chips. The monster is a sandwich that has avocado, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss cheese. We ordered one on sour dough and one on French bread - unfortunately both came out on sour dough. The sandwich was ok but the ingredients didn't scream quality and the bread was generic bread. The meat was sparse for a $16 sandwich. It's a little of a disappointment since I feel like you go to a sandwich shop especially for them having quality bread whereas I feel like I could make this sandwich at home.

Mr. Sandwich is more of a local favorite, especially if you live or work nearby. While there, I saw a woman pick up a catering order. It was a good spot for me to wait for a bit before a meeting in the area. I don't think people travel here simply for a sandwich. However, they serve Fosselman's Ice Cream, which is a well-known old-fashioned ice cream shop in Los Angeles, so I think that elevates them quite a bit.

Stopped on lunch break during work. Really solid basic sandwiches. Half sandwiches are the size of normal sandwiches you make at home. Large are double the size. Great customer service and quick service even when busy and one guy working the shop. Would go again.

Been coming here for 15 years with the prior owner. It was my daily lunch, but since the new owners took over, my order has never been right. Missing bacon, wrong cheese, wrong bread, etc. mistakes are understandable but the quality has dropped with significantly less meat in their sandwiches while increasing prices. Old, regulars like me know that this isn't the same place.

Don't understand the good reviews at all, these are super basic sandwiches - the kind you make at home(normal bread, deli meats, etc.) and priced higher than all of it's competitors.. High prices, long wait time with only one person ahead of me for a slightly below average sandwich. Just go to Jersey Mikes if you are paying this much, their bread and ingredient quality is much better.

I don't understand the reviews but maybe I'm expecting something different?! This is an absolutely no frills, nothing special sandwich shop. Nothing tastes bad... but if you're looking for a delicious sandwich, any type of special topping or creativity, this is not the spot. I got a blt on sour dough and that is pretty much what I got... two pieces of UNTOASTED sour dough (doesn't taste like sour dough tho...), lettuce, tomato, bacon. No sauce of any kind (ie mayo, etc). And it cost me $9!!! I honestly feel like I could've made this at home and it would've looked and tasted better. Not coming again....

We ordered 10 different sandwiches from Mr. Sandwich for our office meeting today through an online delivery service. I got the tuna avocado with sprouts on squaw bread and it was great. They did a good job on the tuna salad and it wasn't drowned in mayo like most sandwich shops. The sandwich was huge. Half of their sandwich equals to almost a whole sandwich somewhere else. And the sprouts was super fresh. 5-star. One of the sandwiches was supposed to be meatballs with mushrooms. However, there were no mushrooms on the sandwich, just the meatballs. I called Mr. Sandwich directly to let them know. Told them I would take just the mushrooms to add to the sandwich but the owner told me they would make a fresh one for me. She was really nice about it. Came by at 1:00 pm to pick it up and the person that makes the sandwiches was very apologetic. He made a fresh one while I waited. Super kind. He also put plenty of mushrooms on the sandwich. I requested to keep the sauce on the side so the sandwich wouldn't be soggy and he did exactly as requested. Mushrooms were a bit salty but overall delicious. The only complaint I heard was the italian sausage sandwich had very little sausage. I believe they cut one sausage to 4 quarters. Since the bread was huge, not enough meat. Everyone else enjoyed their order. Highly recommend Mr. Sandwich. Prices a bit higher than most sandwich places but very good quality. And they do not skimp on protein. Their small chocolate chips cookies are also very fresh. I love cc cookies but very picky and won't eat them if they are a day old. Yes, I can tell. :) Love them here.

This place is right around the corner from my job. A short 7 minute walk, tops, and it took me over a year to finally venture over. I wish I had done so way earlier! Got a half sandwich as thought "There's no way I could have eaten a full one!" It was a huge portion for shat you pay. The people there were super nice and it's in a cool little place to either sit inside or maybe at a table outside. I wish I had taken a picture of the sandwich but it was just too good to put down!

Great food! Great price! Local favorite. They have a really good lunch special and amazing chocolate chip cookies!

$18 Sandy should be amazing not just ok! And they made errors with my order! Quality of the meat was just not there , Dry and thin meat, edges of the bread or soggy.

ICE CREAM alert and Update: This place remains to be my favorite sandwich shop in the area. Good solid sandwiches with fresh ingredients. I had seen some new faces there but the new owner is usually there. It's not a surprise how hard it is to keep workers these days. Which I'm guessing probably contributed to some of the more negative reviews. Price has gone up a little but it's still very reasonable. I'm actually surprised they waited this long to increase. $14.99 lunch special remains to be an amazing deal. What really compelled me to do an update is... they started serving ice cream!!! Heard they are FOSSELMAN'S ice cream!! If you're from LA area then you know. I've tried coffee and cookie and mocha almond fudge. Soooo good!

This is an update I didn't really want to make, but I feel like I have to. As you can see from my previous reviews, I've been a loyal customer of Mr. Sandwich for years. I was always so impressed by the customer service, the food quality, the accuracy, and how quickly everything was made. Unfortunately, I've returned here several times in the past few months and things just aren't the same under the new ownership. Every single time I've ordered ahead, the order has been wrong. The person taking my order will even confirm what I want, so I don't think it's their fault at all. Sometimes, I'll pay extra for avocado or cheese and it will be missing. Sometimes, I'll get a completely different sandwich. One time, an entire sandwich was missing. When I pointed this out, I was told the sandwich would be made ASAP, but I waited for 30 minutes. I've been trying to give the new owners the benefit of the doubt, but I also want to be honest, especially with all the glowing reviews I've previously given. I understand that everything is expensive these days, but if the price is increasing, the quantity is decreasing, and my orders are consistently inaccurate, it's hard for me to justify purchasing regularly here. Hoping this is just a hiccup and things improve. I'll update my review if so.

So, when I ordered a full sandwich, I wasn't expecting to basically have 2 whole sandwiches. Please reference the attached photos, one with my HAND to show you how huge my tuna, avocado and sprouts sandwich was!! It left me STUFFED! I got it on sourdough bread and I wish it tasted more sour. Tasted more like white bread. The tuna was pretty good but I also wish the sandwich had more avocado. Next time I'll try it on squaw bread- that seems to be the most popular bread choice!

I was excited to give Mr Sandwich a try based on the rave reviews, and while I may have come in with too high of expectations, I still really did enjoy my sandwich and especially appreciated the friendly service. Mr Sandwich has a variety of hot and cold sandwiches so I opted for a "Turkey Avocado and Swiss Cheese" on sourdough bread ($12.69). If you're looking for a specialty sandwich shop, this may not be up your alley, but if you're in the mood for a tasty but simple, homemade sandwich, then look no further. While I wish there was a bit more meat than the two slices of turkey I received, I thought the sandwich was delicious, very fresh and I loved how soft the bread was. The price was a bit on the higher end for me as I was still hungry after I finished my sandwich, but I definitely enjoyed every bite of it! Service was also wonderful and I appreciated that "mom and pop" feel and love supporting local businesses. Mr Sandwich is in a small strip mall with a few other restaurants as well so parking was a bit tough but I was able to find a spot after a few circle-ings of the lot.

This place is super great for fast breakfast and lunch special sandwich of the day. My Breakfast today - egg, bacon and cheese on croissant with hash browns.

25% price jump for a simply sandwich?? Don't come here, the greed is out of control. You shouldn't have to pay crazy amount of money for simply sandwiches.

I bought a pastrami and cheese on sourdough. Im not sure how this could be considered sourdough, but it tasted like wonder bread. Not worth the high price!

The gal at the register was sweet and the place was very clean! Delicious and perfect for a quick lunch.

Located in a plaza with plenty of free parking. I came by to grab a triple chocolate chunk cookie and it was amazingly good. The cookie was somehow buttery but not cakey, with great texture. I was surprised since their main product appears to be sandwiches, but wow would definitely come back for another (and to try their sandwiches, in the hopes that it is as good as their cookies).

Love this place! The gentleman that works in the am setting everything up knows my order when I pull up to park and starts it right away. I'm a creature of habit and their avocado toast with egg and everything seasoning is awesome.

I've been coming here for roughly 20 years. They have the best freshest sandwiches and the service is amazing! The food portion is generous size as well, highly recommend!

I asked for light mayo on the chicken salad and it came drenched in mayo. Overall, the sandwich place is clean with lots of options.

I ordered the breakfast platter for delivery and in the description it says it has bacon. When I received the platter there was no bacon. Very disappointing to see it wasn't included. The egg tasted good but was disappointed there was an item missing.

It was tasty! Nothing fancy, but what's wrong with fresh quality ingredients? The person who helped me was also very friendly. I will return.

The food is delicious! The ingredients taste super fresh which is needed for a perfect sandwich. The proportions are great for the price. The half would definitely be more than enough with how much they stuff it haha. It was my first time there and the cashier helped me so much on what I should try! There's a good amount of space if you want to eat inside or outside. Very clean.

I've been coming to this location for years even when the previous owner owned it. I changed job locations and could not come back for a while but have recently started stopping by during my new commute. Maybe it's because I'm a loyal previous customer but I find the quality and the service is still top-notch! Yes the prices have gone up a bit but where else have they not? You still get huge portions for your money and I think it's a special touch when Kelly the owner throws in a little something extra. Her and Armando take great pride in their work and this is still my favorite lunch place after all these years. If you're looking for gimmicks and Glitz this is not the place for you, it's not an influencer joint, it's a place where hard-working people of all status come to enjoy a delicious, fresh ingredient, well made sandwich. I'm so happy this place is still here!

Disappointing and missing items. I've only been coming here a little less than a year and although it was a struggle to communicate with the previous owner my order was always accurate and my sandwich was always stuffed. Not sure what's happened these past few months but the quality and service have plummeted. In order to add avocado or sprouts it's extra, which is fine no issue with that, but I have an issue with it when I pay for it and it's missing. This is not the first time either and whenever I take it back to have it added they cannot just take my word for it and have to search up the receipt first. I've tried letting it go multiple times, especially because the short white lady in the front ends up throwing in a bag of chips or a brownie for the inconvenience. But it's not happened for the fourth time and I honestly didn't even take it back at this point im just taking the loss, writing this review, and never coming back. If you want your food done right every time just go somewhere else. Or wait until there's new people making the food.

Delicious sandwiches. I was recommended to go there and was not disappointed. The sandwiches are massive and could feed two people. I had roast beef and turkey on squaw bread. Definitely going back.

Ordered a turkey sandwich with lettuce on a French roll as an afternoon snack from Mr Sandwich. Didn't want any mayonnaise or tomatoes - just turkey and lettuce. The sandwich was filled with lots of freshly sliced turkey and shredded lettuce. The French roll was soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The counter staff was very friendly and the sandwich shop was clean. Mr Sandwich is located in a strip mall near several fast-food drive-thru restaurants - so an empty parking space can be hard to find during the busy lunchtime hour. However, many parking spaces open up quickly because people buy their food and get on with the rest of their day. Parking was free and the food was excellent!

Such a good size of fresh delicious sandwich making you full and happy. Preparation is so fast and price is so fair, especially for this good size. We are here for a swim meet from New York City and got the sandwiches 3 days in a row. This says something- right? Great for swimmers who need healthy nutritious good lunch in between prelims and finals. We liked * chicken sandwich with avocado * chicken sandwich with avocado and cucumber * chicken sandwich with sprouts and cucumber * tuna sandwich with sprouts and cucumber I liked white bread but my daughter liked both toasted and not tasted. Worth trying!

Never tried this place but wanted to give it a try. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich Chicken DRY and HARD almost rock hard Wet ingredients to make the chicken salad - mayo or sauce was bland and watered down. TOO MANY APPLES which made the proportions overly sweet. AVOCADO it was more like spread. No actual avocado slices. Hey we all believe in cost cutting but this was ridiculous.

The BEST egg salad sandwich I've ever had!!! Armando was beyond helpful explaining their menu. He is a 5 star employee and I really enjoyed talking to him. I'm visiting from AZ and will definitely be back.

I personally wasn't the biggest fan. Overall big sandwich but my bread was stale and broke as I was trying to eat the sandwich. Also, I get that it's Irvine, but I feel like their prices are pretty overpriced for a half sandwich. I really wanted to love it because it's literally a two minute walk from my office. But, overall I wasn't very impressed. I probably will noteat again unfortunately. If the bride wasn't stale, I would probably give it another shot, even though it was pricey.

Came here for a quick lunch. This is probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I got a chicken salad sandwich and it was so good. If you're looking for a homemade sandwich place this is it. So good.

We order delivery from here weekly, and have never been disappointed! Their half sandwiches are huge; plenty for dinner. The bread is always soft and fresh, and their ingredients are excellent. The tuna and egg salads are our favorites...nothing fancy, but just like homemade and really good. This place is great!

Cute sandwich shop with solid food and hefty portions. Came here to grab a quick lunch~ Parking can be a little tricky since it's in a small plaza with bunch of other restaurants. The shop itself is small so we to go the food. Mr sandwich has many varieties including cold cuts and hot meat. I got the ham and Swiss on squaw bread (comes with tomato, lettuce, pickles) ($12.50). They also offer half sized sandwich which I should have got because I could only eat half of it. The portion is generous~ they don't skimp out on the meat and put a good amount of veggies~ Very simple sandwich with solid taste. Overall great place for a quick and filling lunch. Would love to try their pastrami my next visit.

I have been getting lunch from Mr. Sandwich for over a year now and I have not been disappointed with the sandwich they serve. Definitely not walking away hungry. Great portion and the staff has been very accommodating and friendly with making the sandwich the way you want it. Next time you are out looking to get a sandwich try this place. Small mom and pop shop is really better than the chain stores.

The service and food are amazing! We love coming here and having their variety of sandwiches. Everyone I have brought to this location has fallen in love and always suggests this spot when we're meeting up. Also, the owners are the sweetest! 10/10 recommend.

New owners and quality has gone down while prices have gone up. We've tried it twice and there is less meat and avocado and more lettuce and bread. As always, the place is clean and employees are nice.

The tuna sandwich with Rye bread is so good, I only got a small which half but they're so generous with the protein that it's good enough. I ordered through yelp and my order was ready within 10 minutes. Great!!

Ordered tuna sandwich with bacon and there was NO tuna... it was just a plain BLT. For the price i expected more...The bread was very plain. Nothing special. Won't return
