Whether you’re grabbing sushi, hibachi, or one of their tasty lunch specials, you can’t go wrong. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. It’s become one of our go-to spots for a quick and satisfying meal. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

I've been visiting Mr. Tako since 2017, and it always hits the spot. The food has that amazing home-cooked taste—fresh, flavorful, and full of heart. You can tell they put real care into every dish, from the perfectly seasoned meats to the handmade tortillas. It's comforting, satisfying, and consistently delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like you're part of the family. Mr. Tako is my go-to for real, authentic Mexican food that feels like home.

Great authentic tacos with options from every part of the cow. The salsa is great, you can see the charred chilled and all. Good portions for the price. The cashier on 6/14/24 in the afternoon was great.

This place is an absolute gem. Not only is the food incredible, but the employees are so nice. The young girl who normally works the register is the sweetest person ever. We love getting food from here and have never had a bad meal!

Had the Cali Burrito, it was pretty good. Had a nice authentic taste which is what I’ve been looking for here in Texas, especially the McKinney area.

Work lunch, took the guys to a favorite today. The "Jalisco" , queso birria burrito was amazing!! 😍 I also got one queso birria taco which was just as good! That taco was not close to small. The burrito is pretty big, I ate half, and saved the other half in my cooler.

Great carnitas burrito! And house made tortilla chips and salsa! I'll be back for sure.

My order was wrong, I ordered a torta and got 3 tacos instead. Not only was I upset that I didn't get my right order, they were actually not good tacos, and I disliked the beans. Honestly, just so unfortunate to look forward to having a nice lunch just for it to be wrong and not taste good.

The young female taking my order was too busy laughing and playing with her coworkers and my order was wrong.

A great place to eat. The Memphis Burrito is great by it make Itself. However, the new Memphis Burrito California Wet Style is one of the best burritos I have ever had! Wet California style means they add The Secret Tomatillo Sour Cream Sauce and shredded cheese over the burrito then broil it until the cheese golden perfection. This Burrito won't disappoint!

Husband got a beef fajita street taco and a crispy beef taco. He said they were both good and he did try the red and green sauce. Both were hot but the red was very hot! I'm vegetarian so I had some beans on a corn tortilla with cheese and fresh onions. It was good, nothing special, but glad they could accommodate me. The red sauce rocks!!!

Some of the most delicious tacos I have ever eaten! The Al Pastor tacos were out of this world! I also loved their asada fries. That queso they put on top of the fries are the cherry on top! Mr. Tako probably has the best tacos in McKinney!!

One of the best taco spots in McKinney. The food and service is great. The inside is nice also. You can do take out or dine in.

We came across Mr. Tako when driving to another place, we looked them up and went there that same day because we had to try them. We only tried the Asada Fries this time and man were they good. The lady taking our order was soo nice, she let my husband taste 2 of the drinks to make sure he liked them before buying them. We will be back to try more good.

Great hike in the wall place with excellent food! Try the Puerto Vallarta or the Acapulco tacos

I've eaten here for a while now but over time it slowly went downhill i got food poisoning a while back but was not sure if it was from here or another place but after the last time i am positive it was from here after finding uncooked meat in my tacos to finding literal twigs and leaves in it from the bushes outside DO NOT EAT

Tortas and carne asada fries are absolutely delicious! Portions are huge and everything definitely satisfies taqueria cravings!

the service was a 7/10. they have a very hard time answering the phone and hanging up in your face seems pretty normal here. overall it took them 5 minutes to make my tacos. the tacos taste amazing, overall they deserve a 9.5/10. Came back for a pt.2. The service was very speedy. The guy Jonathon at the register was very nice, polite and so helpful. 10/10 for this visit. I love it!

Food quality is good. Fast service. Unfortunately food is loaded with msg and prices are too high for this class of restaurant. Self service, plastic forks, and paper towel rolls for napkins. Why is a basic lunch $10-14? Chips and salsa +$3, chips and queso +$6. You can go eat at great full-service Tex Max restaurants at this price point. Also why are you asking me for tips at the register? There is no service here.

Back again but finding better. The service has been great each visit with a bright ans clean restaurant. The food comes out fast and the price is right. All that upside is sure to have a down and that the food. I'm finding it more constantly dry. On this visit I ordered: *Buche *Barbarcoa *Chapechano All of which tasty but on the dry side. I was loading the tacos with salsa. Bummer. As I'm exploring more taquerias in the McKinney area I'm discovering some real gems. Unfortunately Mr T's is not high on my list. There's potential and you should absolutely try for yourself. It's not my jam.

I freakn TACOS!! Because of this I am very picky about my mexi/tex Mex! Cashier was very patient and pleasant. This hole in the wall restaurant & restrooms were very clean. My burrito was giant and so tasty! My tacos were flavorful. I would prefer raw, diced onion over the fairly large cut grilled onions. Must try the hibiscus flower tea! YUM!! This place is only 10 min from the house so I WILL def make Mr. Tako one of my go-tos!

Carne asada frys! Were Loaded up and fairly priced! Al Pastor is greasy how I like it and flavorful! The customer service was great and while busy it flowed greatly with the team. No negatives, if you near by, give it a go!

This was our go to place but it's really been taking a nose dive. Increased prices while service and quality of food has either stayed the same or gotten worse. The queso we got I swear was from a jar and heated up. it wasn't always like that. Barbacoa is still amazing. We decided that if we went three more times and if all those times were disappointing then we'd stop going here. We're now at that point now. Disappointed.

Nice Tacos. Decent place. Lunch hour looked busy. Lots of to go orders and take outs.

We were in the area and tried this place because is the reviews but honestly, we were not that impressed. My husband and got the California burrito and he said it was just ok, didn't have much meat but had a lot of the other stuff. I had a chicken chimichanga with a queso topping. The cheese sauce was overwhelming, and the wrong type. It was a yellow cheese sauce thay I wouldn't even want to dip chips in. We got the kids the Texas Nachos with ground beef. The same yellow cheese sauce that was on my chimichanga is what was on the nachos. My kids didn't eat the nachos and ate my rice instead. They usually like nachos so I'm not sure what they didn't like about these nachos. The food was served in to go boxes even though we were eating in. We were not provided napkins or utensils. I had to go up to the register and wait in line to ask for both. The employee that placed our order was nice. Will we go back again, no.

Pretty good tacos. Barbacoa was great. Chorizo was good also. The only one I didn't particularly enjoy was the bistek. Everything else was great. I'll be back tomorrow haha.

Hidden gem located in east McKinney off 380, first time diner and will definitely return. We enjoyed tacos al pastor and barbacoa. Both were great, super clean and tasty, paired with yummy green and red salsa. Customer service was great, friendly staff. The menu offers a lot of different items to choose from.

A quick lunch break brought us into a fast paced eatery with just enough tables for a lunch rush. The taco prices are on point, with a fantastic variety that satisfies the traditional and excites a millennial. We were given a number and our food was brought to the table pretty quickly. Two salsa bottles were offered, mild and spicy. The spicy offers a quick zing without overwhelming the flavor. Will definitely return for more tacos!

Bomb af me and my gf tried it and we KEEP COMING BACK !! First we tried the pastor taco plates with rice and beans; Then we CAME BACK & tried the asada fries and I'm omw to get some more rn lol. It's a small family business, they STAY cleaning & sanitizing A PLUS especially during this pandemic!! Now.. they drink machine is out of order and has been since we first tried it, but they have a drink freezer full of drinks to quench your thirst.

Just a taco joint serving up damn good tacos. I rate taco places by their barbocoa tacos and theirs doesn't disappoint. They also have a lot of funky tacos crammed with a thousand ingredients that magically work well together. Service is crazy fast and friendly. Love this place.

Wow....in a BAD way. Ordered beef nachos Togo for lunch. I had to drive 10 miles to get them. The chips were all stale and not fresh. The entire bottom of the container was filled with enough grease to kill somebody. You couldn't eat them. I don't know how a place that specializes in "Mexican food" could mess up nachos but they succeeded! HECK NO......MR. TAKO! I called and told them about it and they told me to bring the food back...lmao. I told them I work.for a living. So now in order for me to get refunded I have to use my gas and time and drive back into Mckinney to get the $11 refunded. Lol

Updated: Although the food is amazing, they are often out of items on a Friday early evening or the wait is long. This time we tried calling ahead and was put on hold for about 10 minutes w no one coming back. Unfortunately for them, we hung up and went elsewhere.

This counter service restaurant is located in a strip shopping center on Highway 5 (McDonald) and 380. Everything on their menu is delicious. This is not Tex-Mex this is authentic Mexican food. it is not fancy. And the prices are reasonable. My favorite is the Barbacoa tacos. It is tender and full of flavor. My second favorite is the Carnitas. It is also cooked as it should be with a little bit of crisp on the ends. The salsa is homemade and amazing to be drizzled over every bite. I would love if they were open for breakfast, I can only imagine how amazing their tacos would be. Nom! Nom!

Been living north of 635 for 2-years and the struggle to find good, authentic tacos has been ROUGH. Mr. Tako is the solution!!!

Came in for lunch during work and had the nachos with al pastor in them, man they were . Excellent portion and the ingredients were all good. It's good to see diverse businesses in all areas. If you are around come by and see what they are about you won't regret it.

Loved it. Great service. Plenty of seating. Games on TV's. And they have actual Mexican food, not Tex just mex. Brisket doesn't belong in a burrito lol. The meats are all good and they carry lengua which I love. Chips were hot, salsa was fresh. Will be back regularly

If you want good authentic Mexican cuisine this is the place to go and their food prices are reasonable along with excellent service.

I had the El Paso Burrito with extra cheese, I'll be back for that again! This place is a real gem for Tex-Mex if your in the area. Highly recommended!

This place doesn't look like much. For one, it's hiding in a nondescript strip center. Inside it's just a few tables and a cashier counter. Put that aside though, because the tacos are delicious. The menu isn't extravagant, but they have a variety of street tacos and a few torta and flauta offerings. You can get 3 tacos of your choosing, rice and beans for $6.99. The carnitas were flavorful and I loved that you got to choose grilled or raw onions. Yes, please. They bring the food to your table, along with green and red salsa containers. They were pretty tasty, although spicy (I am a wimp). We have to come back because the nachos look incredible. I just wish they had a margarita machine or something and then I would practically live here.

Best taco's period. Whole menu is awesome. A must eat!!!! Trust this review. Eat here. I go as often as possible. Love it.

Hands down my favorite place for Burritos in North Texas. Shredded Chicken refried beans cheese and lettuce with green sauce.

Excellent food and friendly service. We've tried the chicken tacos, barbacoa tacos, chicken burrito and the chicken chimichanga--all have been fantastic!!! Our favorite, though, is the salsa and the red sauce that they give you with your order. That sauce is HOT!!!
