Downtown’s splash of spice: fragrant curries, tandoori grills, and a lively patio. USA Today Network coverage praised the setting; up-to-date hours and service are corroborated by recent reviews. Google
A great dining experience. Downtown dining is always a plus. Staff is friendly and service is always top notch. Food is exceptional and can be as spicy as you want.

Google
Best Indian food in town. We have been here many times and not found anything we haven't liked. The spice levels are always spot on. We came for dinner recently. The staff is always so efficient, helpful and friendly. Omg the cucumber water is amazing. We tried.. Chicken Tikka masala Lamb Tikka masala Garlic naan Rice pudding. They have the best chip latte tea I have ever tasted. Definitely a favorite place!

Lacks flavour. Lacks seasoning. If you enjoy authentic Indian food stay away from this place

Google
Food was okay. If this were my only Indian food experience I'd enjoy it. But having had lots of it...I felt everything was lacking here. Prices were very high; naan bread alone was $6, as was any condiments like pickled fruits or chutneys. This is the first place I've ever been that doesn't include it. Their menu states clearly that they don't use curry powder, which is fine if flavors are balanced to make a curry flavor without it... but they just weren't. I got level 5 spice and it didn't even clear my sinuses. It was not terribly food; just lacked the flavor it needed to justify the price. Coolest thing was water came automatically infused. As for atmosphere the tables are WAY too close together. Everybody ate in silence because you're within earshot of everyone else.

Google
We love this place! The Indian food is extremely authentic and very robust with great flavors! There are plenty of varieties for naan breads as well and that made my husband happy. We loved the atmosphere, waitstaff and of course the amazing food! (Which fed us for 2 days at least!)

Google
Compare to other Indian restaurant in USA the food quite expensive here . probable is reason is have only one indian restaurant in the town. about the food , the taste was good.

Google
This is place is a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Pueblo. This restaurant is very cozy and they have beautiful and colorful interior decors that makes you feel nostalgic of the Indian tapestry colors. They have amazing Nepali curry dishes. We got the chicken masala and chicken vindaloo and they were so tasty. Customer service is superb and parking is so easy. It’s our 2nd time here with my bf and we will definitely keep on coming back here.

Google
If you see a bunch of non-Indians giving this place 5 stars, just know—you’re walking into the great turmeric trap. I ordered the biryani and got what looked like rice that lost a fight with a pepper grinder and a turmeric truck. Authentic? Only if your grandma was raised in a spice-averse suburb. The décor inside is straight out of a ‘90s soap opera, and the prices made me wonder if I was paying for a view of the Taj Mahal (spoiler: I wasn’t). Save your money and your taste buds. Your local frozen Indian meal might actually put up a better fight. Only positive thing was the back patio and its style, which was unique.

Yelp
We were the only people in the restaurant which should have been our first clue. The server brought the papadum with no sauce. When I asked for sauce the owner came out and handed me a tamarind chili sauce he made, explaining: "We are out of plum chutney so I made this sauce. My neighbor is WHITE like you, and he likes it." Wow. My daughter and I were floored. Then the Sag paneer came. It was literally green gray. Spinach is usually green. We were told we needed to order mild because medium would be too spicy for us. More racial profiling? The Sag was the most bland, flavorless crap I've ever tasted. I think it had been sitting around for a long time. We didn't eat, paid the tab, and left sad and hungry. I don't know what others see in this place. Our experience was gross not to mention racist. We will NEVER be back.

Yelp
Had dinner with friends night before last. Nobody's food was served hot or even warm. Even the community rice bowls were cold. Every one had different dishes so it was consistently bad across the board. We ordered three different flavors of the Naan bread and rather than being traditionally soft, they over cooked the Naan to cracker quality. Also, the owners have reduced the portions and raised prices. We'll be going to Colorado Springs to satisfy our Indian food craving.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this spot. The Tikka Masla was lacking flavor and had a predominantly tomato paste texture and flavor. The chicken tandoori was almost flavorless, nice presentation but definitely not Indian in spirit. The only item that was good was the garlic naan.

Christine S.

Yelp
Outstanding food. The lamb Korma was warm, spicy, and the lamb was soft and delicious. My husband had chicken tandoori, it was very tasty. The vegetables were still a big t crunchy while the chicken was juicy and tender. Naan was chewy and slightly crispy. The rice pudding was creamy and perfectly sweet with coconut and cinnamon. There are some reviews that complain about the prices. What you must know is that the food is served family style. My dish (korma) could have easily fed 2-3 people, same with my husband's tandoori. We have enough for at least two more meals. Very cost effective!!

Yelp
We walked in fifty minutes before they closed and they refused to seat us. Guess it's a Pueblo thing? Lame.

Yelp
Found in Downtown Pueblo! I've dined here a couple times and it never fails to satisfy my tummy! Food was served in a decent amount of time. It is very flavorful and will leave you wanting for more! Service is always great, staff here is so attentive and kind! it does give a family type of vibe restaurant so definitely bring your family and friends in! Try the thai tea! Best one i've had yet, but i do wish there was boba in it

Yelp
I was in Pueblo for work. Vegan options are slim pickings around these parts, so I was happy to learn how vegan friendly they are. They made a vegan Aloo Saag for me. It was flavorful and spicy, just how I like it. It was a good sized portion. They also give you a ton of rice with your order. I'd return to try more options when in Pueblo again.

Yelp
Went to eat dinner and was told it was a 15 minute wait... well after waiting 20 minutes we were told we cannot eat there because they were reservations only. Well thanks for telling me that after you told me it was 15 minutes. Guess I'll take my money somewhere else. Was a regular costumer but I will not ever give my hard earned money to this establishment again.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
What was that? Definitely not Indian food... Our Tika Masala was crappy lamb in some weird tomato pasta sauce. The only thing that resembled Indian food was the naan. Also EXTREMELY expensive. 65 dollar meal for 2 dishes and water. Naan does not come with the food and costs 6$ a piece. They also charge 5$ for condiments like chutney. HOW DOES THIS PLACE EXIST? This place should be on kitchen nightmares... Gordon Ramsey please help.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Considering that this is the only Indian restaurant in Pueblo, I was resigned to making it my regular spot irrespective of how it was. However, my experience here was very positive and pleasant. My friend and I came here around 5:30 pm as they didn't have reservations for later. They are doing outdoor dining and the whole place is super cute, esp with the surrounding buildings that have posters, bar and restaurant signs etc. They've created a cabana like area with water mists to keep the temps cooler. The inside is not open for sitting but I went to use the restroom and found the architecture of everything very pretty. The bar area is also very cute. They have a fairly normal menu. Don't expect chat, appetizers, South Indian food or anything outside of North Indian curries, biryani and naans. They have a wide variety of curries. They also have some great veggie options. We got the chicken mughlai curry, the chicken Tikka masala curry, the chicken biryani and a garlic naan. I also got a mango lassi. The curries were spicy enough for me (ask for Indian hot if you're Indian and love spicy or if you LOVE spicy). There is a slightly home-made feel to them which I appreciated. I liked my mughlai more than my friend's Tikka masala but the Tikka masala was good too. Garlic naan was very good and had lots of garlic. The curries come with Yellow/Spanish/turmeric rice. It is a lot so we just took the rice home with us. The biryani was just ok. That was the one let down. I love biryanis and have had some amazing ones back in San Diego (just moved to Pueblo). So that was a little disappointing. Guess I'll just make my own at home. The mango lassi was very nice and tasted fresh. It comes with whipped cream, cherry and a slice of orange, which I found a difficult to understand. Just leave the mango lassi as is. Price is on the higher side, esp for Pueblo. For the two of us, and the above, our check was $80. These are huge quantities though, so we are both pretty much set for the weekend in terms of food. I see myself coming back here often to try the other menu options and of course their chai :)

Yelp
From coast to coast, I have eaten at many Indian Restaurants all over the country. Indian cuisine is one my family's favorite food choices. Needless to say, I was excited to find Mr Tandori Urban Bar & Grill. But I was also nervous. Because I am super picky about Indian cuisine. Not all Indian restaurants are created equal. Some will make me feel sick from all the oil and heavy cream. I didn't read any reviews or look at the menu before I made the spontaneous decision to come for a solo dinner tonight. Upon entering, I was met with a very lovely and traditional atmosphere and the wafting smells emanating from the kitchen. The servers appeared to be a couple of friendly local women. They didn't seem to be super knowledgeable about the food. But they were extremely nice and very attentive as they worked together to serve the few occupied tables in the room. When one server handed me the menu, I was stoked to see several vegetarian options prominently displayed front and center among all the traditional meat and veggie dishes one would expect. However, my excitement soon diminished when my eyes took notice of the entree pricing. Boulder prices in downtown Pueblo Colorado on a Monday night. OK... What did I get myself into? I ordered one entree, a samosa appetizer and a garlic naan. No drinks or dessert. With a 20% tip my bill came out to nearly $50. In most family run Indian restaurants that I have frequented, this would be closer to $30. The terrible taste of sticker shock was soon and thankfully, diluted by the taste of the delicious food I was quickly served. Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought so. The chatty woman sitting at the table next to me was going on and on to her companion about how it was the best food she had ever tasted in her entire life and totally worth the cost. She even proclaimed that someone she knew refused to come eat here because of the high cost. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself a few times overhearing her out-loud on-the-spot review of everything she was eating. Honestly, I can't say that I disagree with her though. The server informed me the restaurant is only open for dinner. I suspect, after the recent pandemic, they had to raise their prices to make ends meet. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal this evening. Unfortunately, this will not be a regular spot that I can bring my family to for dinner as I had hoped. It's just too expensive to be enjoyed regularly for us. Perhaps an occasional date night with my wife would be nice though. I do wish Mr Tandoori Urban Bar and Grill much success. But I encourage them to put more effort into marketing and to lower their prices a bit. They've been here longer than me though. Maybe there's just not enough people who like Indian food in Pueblo. Admittedly, downtown is pretty sleepy in general around here. I'm sure it's a tough place to run a restaurant like this. Respect! Good luck.

Yelp
This restaurant is soooooo good! Being the only Indian food restaurant within a reasonable distance, I would recommend it. I came during the lunch hours to experience the lunch Buffet. The variety of food was typical of an Indian restaurant with about 12 different entrees but they live up to a good flavor. I will most definitely come here again.

Shea S.

Yelp
Delicious food!!! Amazing time for first time trying Indian food. Never expected to have multiple options for a first time trying different food!
google avatar

Yelp
Be weary of their online order fulfillment. I had no issue waiting tonight. It's New Year's Eve after all. That said it's pretty clear to me that when I arrived the kitchen wasn't informed. I made the order at 4:45 to be picked up at 5:30. I waited 45 minutes (to be nice) before drawing attention to my order once again and then got it 15 minutes later. It took an hour and forty five minutes to make my order. If your establishment can't handle the demand that comes with online orders, maybe don't take them. Also if your customer has been waiting an hour, maybe don't hit him with "busy night" on his way out the door. My night is busy too and I paid in full plus tip to wait almost two hours for my food. No excuse. I love this place by the way. The food is excellent. This experience was frustrating.

Yelp
I don't often eat Indian food but I wanted something different so I headed here. From the second I walked in, I was floored by the detail, colors, and beauty of the restaurant. I ended up sitting on the patio, with a great view of the cute little fountain. They brought out their version of "chips and salsa", which is a large lentil chip with a mango chutney for me to begin with. I also chose to just stick with water, as it was infused with orange and tasted amazing. Also gave me an idea for home! I ordered the chili naan and the chicken tiki masala. It. Was. Huge. And delicious. I ate probably 1/3 of it and took the rest home. I'm sad I discovered this place on my last day in Pueblo since I have leftovers for days and I would consider going back to try something else. Learn from my mistake - if you are in Pueblo go here first and take leftovers home. My only "complaint" (which I wouldn't really call it that) is that it was a bit pricey (25 dollars for my naan and entree). However, when I consider that I could have easily shared the meal if I had a dining buddy, then that is no longer an issue. So grab a buddy who has similar tastes and split an entree and some naan! No need to order two items! Take my word for it.

Lee S.

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorite places. Unfortunately, not anymore. Nobody greeted us when we walked thru the door. We waited there for a while before someone showed us to a table. The food used to be very special and full of flavor. Now it was bland and unimaginative. The wait staff used to be attentive, now they spend so much time talking to their friends that they ignore their tables. Something has changed. We are never going here again.
google avatar

Jeanette B.

Yelp
Waited at least 15 minutes. Nobody greeted us. Had to go look in the kitchen for someone to seat us. When they came to seat us, pointed and said anywhere up there. Took food order. Didn't ask if we wanted drinks. Had to say we would like drinks. Delivered food. Food was average at best. Never checked if we needed another drink or how food was. Had to ask for ticket. All this for $90!!!!! Not worth it and won't be back.

George N.

Yelp
If you have any experience whatsoever with Indian cuisine you will be really mad after eating here. Absolutely the worst you have ever eaten at any price, which is quite expensive here. Locally rated #3 best restaurant means these people have never traveled away from Pueblo, CO.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
Mr Tandoori was our first Indian dinning experience and we have not found anything comparable since. The Chicken Tiki Marsala is the best I have ever had.
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
The worst food I've ever had. Insanely expensive for an inedible dish. Will not be returning.
google avatar

Anna W.

Yelp
We went for the lunch buffet. First time in the restaurant and had been told by others how good it was so we were excited. I was told to order the cheese naan and it was delicious. The buffet was, well lacking. Many of the foods were near empty on the hot side and our plates were ice cold. The flavored water and decor are nice. The cash discount they don't honor, even though it's posted on their front door.

Shaiya T.

Yelp
Mr Tandoori has gone down hill since the original owner sold. The prices have gone up, and the quality of the food has gone down. The best reason to go is because the service and the bar. Angel is amazing and attentive every time we go. Get some naan and a drink before heading somewhere else for a full meal.
google avatar

Craig B.

Yelp
Ive been here maybe 4 times and every time i get similar meals but ill warn you this is the priciest place for what you get. They would be packed if their price was better. You should plan to pay $30-$40 a person here for a good meal.
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
Been twice for the lunch buffet. Large variety of Indian goodies but pricey for an Indian Buffet. They close at 2 PM and reopen at dinner time. Is important to know this if you are planning on going for a late lunch, they will be probably be close. One time, I went at 1:15 PM and they gave me a table in the patio area, after 30 minutes they told me that they were leaving at 2 PM and I have to finish my lunch without a waitress and when done to leave using a side door since they will close the main restaurant doors. Lesson learned, do not go after 1 PM if you want to enjoy the food calmly. Also, been twice for dinner. The food was excellent. The waitress were nice the both times. They accommodate my husband diet.

Yelp
Food was amazing- the ambience was amazing. The service could have been better, but it wasn't bad. We went to Pueblo over Labor Day weekend and had Mr. T's recommended to us by a local. So glad we listened. We ordered the classics Saag Paneer, Chicken tikka masala and naan. Everything was delicious, the portions were generous. It was nice weather so we opted to sit on the patio. As soon as it got dark, the alley behind the patio lit up with gorgeous vintage neon signs. That neon & art in the alley is separate, but a total bonus. Note: posting In Jan 2019 for a September 2018 trip. I'm a little bit behind on my yo do l

Yelp
Mr. Tandoori was started about 12 years ago by a gentleman who was a Indian chef. I hadn't been there in awhile and a friend was in town so we gave it a try. I don't know who owns it now but what they are serving is not Indian cuisine. I got chicken tikka masala and it was chicken slathered in some sort of tomato sauce. My friend's dish was similarly unrepresentative of Indian food. It's not that it was bad or spoiled, it just wasn't Indian food. I don't know how there are current positive reviews for this place except maybe the reviewers haven't had good Indian. Not only was the experience disappointing, the meal was extremely expensive. The bill was over 80 bucks and we got no drinks but water and there was only two of us. Hard pass.

Osman M.

Yelp
Great Indian food they got really good garlic naan bread I love their chicken tiki masala.

Yelp
Chefs must have changed multiple times. My husband, who is from India & a professional Chef, & I understand that this is a "modern" take on Indian classics. Regardless, we have become more & more disappointed since we first tried them in June 2021. Today will be the last time we give them another chance. We might as well have thrown our money in a garbage disposal. Every time the food has gotten progressively worse in flavor, quality, & the prices are ridiculous. We get better flavors for less in other restaurants & without giving me stomach problems too (the poops & pain). The biryani isn't even biryani..& the spices don't get cooked the way they need to be & are just tossed in basically raw. The Naan was very hard too. So sad because it's basically the only "Indian" place in this lack of diversity town, & it's not even it.

Yelp
As I was walking up the smell outside was amazing. I got the tandoori mixed grill and garden salad to go. The servers were very polite and hospitable and the decor was lovely. The inside temps were a little warm but not horrible. The tandoori was good. Lamb was cooked to near perfection. I only counted 1 shrimp but they did add salmon which I've never had tandoori style but did enjoy. Salad was was fresh and came with plenty of dressing.
google avatar

Lee B.

Yelp
Owners recently changed. So has the food. And not for the better. Yuk. Just threw away most of our dinner. It wasn't fresh; I swear this food was cooked a couple days ago and reheated. Peas in the aloo matter were hard, potatoes way over cooked. Cheese in the saag was hard and, again, not fresh. Oh, and they served these vegetarians "vegetable samosa" full of meat. There is no samosa on their menu with meat. WTF? Not good. We used to be regulars. Last time for us. Expensive and bad.
google avatar

Amber B.

Yelp
is this correct? are you open for 3 hours a day now? i've ordered takeout in the past and it was okay- a little expensive but the last few times i've called around 7:30 i was told you were closing. so that makes it 2 and a half hours? what restaurant operates for 2 and a half hours a day? this is the only place in pueblo for indian food, if you don't want to open and serve food, why not just close the restaurant completely? best nights are monday, tuesday and wednesdays? how is that possible when you're not open at night?
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
Boy, if I could give this place a 20/5 I freaking would. I have never been so in love with a food place like I am with this place. Staff was amazingly friendly, atmosphere is welcoming and it's so clean. As soon as you walk in you are enticed but a wonderful smell of spices and seasoning, it's like coming home. The alcoholic drinks are to die for! If you come here get the buffet, trust me, you get way more bang for your buck! Whoever is cooking back there deserves a raise/reward. I will definitely be coming back here for the rest of the time I'm in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Mr. Tandoori is probably the best Indian restaurant that I've been to. The service here is excellent and they have the food to match. I was in town for work and heard about this place, so I checked it out. It was so good that I went back the next day. Both times I went, the food was delicious. Even the fruit infused water was good. They have different spice levels (1-6), so if you're a spice addict like me you'll love this place. I ordered the level 5 because I didn't want to burn my mouth off. Surprisingly, it wasn't that hot so I ordered some additional hot sauce. What I didn't know is that the hot sauce costs extra. The ambiance is nice and I even saw Mr. Tandoori walking around the dining area greeting people. Awesome place to eat.

Isha G.

Yelp
We were skeptical about stoping at an Indian place but the food is really nice here. The staff was very sweet and welcoming. The restaurant is a lil pricy but it's all worth if at the end the food is good. We are surely gonna come here again.
google avatar

Sandy F.

Yelp
Parking is close and accessible. The service is attentive and professional. The food is fantastic. I wanted spicy and I got legit spicy. Very flavorful. The wait was reasonable. The environment is lovely and comfortable. Restrooms are clean. Definitely coming back to try other dishes

Cathy D.

Yelp
Honestly-- This restaurant is so good. Stumbled upon it after shopping at the fabulous Seabels and walking down the fun Neon Alley. Thought we would give it a try and the food was excellent. We have eaten in big cities and had good Indian food and what we had here is definitely competitive to those. Who knew that in this sweet small city such a gem existed! My husband and I shared a delicious mango smoothie, then on to the Naan with mango chutney (fabulously exotic taste) followed by Chicken Tikka Masala. We like it mild and it arrived mild. Thank you! Anyhow we brought the leftovers to our daughter and she remarked how excellent the taste was. We highly recommend if you happen to be in the Pueblo area. We live in Colorado Springs but will be making the trip again just for dinner!

Anita J.

Yelp
We decided to come and eat hear because of the good reviews. We were disappointed in the food. It wasn't bad just not up to the hype. The lamb samosas looked good but had no real authentic flavor. We had tandoori chicken and again the flavor was lacking and the bone in meat was very dry and tough. The place started off dark and we couldn't really even read the menu and then halfway through the meal the lights we switched on bright and the staff began to vacuum! Poppadoms and mango chutney $10!
google avatar

Doug C.

Yelp
Best (maybe only?) Indian in Pueblo for sure. I've only dined there once post-pandemic and do wish they would bring back their lunch buffet. Had the Saag Paneer last time which was decent. I'll probably try a meat dish next time.

Lynne H.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Great ambience. Good service highly recommend. Wish they would open earlier
google avatar

Kurt P.

Yelp
Back to our favorite restaurant in town! Parmy does a great job of providing quality food and a relaxing ambiance. There's misters around the back patio helping keep a cool atmosphere.and of course, the food is always fantastic! If you're lucky, you'll get Angel as your server!
google avatar

Ciara S.

Yelp
Very good food and great service. Stopped there during a road trip and considered stopping by again on our way back.
google avatar

Drake M.

Yelp
I don't know if I ordered on an off night, but the korma and tikka were lacking flavor. I've been to multiple Indian restaurants ranging from the east coast, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. I also haven't had Indian food that has cost this much, it cost me $80 and the portions were smaller than what I got for $40 in Las Vegas. I understand it's the only Indian place in Pueblo, so I guess they can up charge you for that.
google avatar

Lion T.

Yelp
Excellent Authentic Indian food. The atmosphere has a mystical Indian ambience. Highly recommended!

Jeanne B.

Yelp
Awesome Indian cuisine, but very pricey. I love the Masala and Saag Paneer dishes especially, plus the naan is wonderful. But expect to pay about $35 per person, without drinks/tax/tip. As the only Indian restaurant in town, they can pretty much name their price, I guess. My grown daughter usually wants to go here when she's in town for a visit.

Yelp
I just can't stop coming to Mr Tandoori whenever in Pueblo. This time I had given it a good go, and was going to try a new Italian restaurant (owner is supposedly 1st generation like me) but alas, they were booked so I could not reserve us a table. So back to square one, I call my favorite Indian restaurant in Colorado...and what do you know? They can take us :) I just love the food here, but this time (since the restaurant was very quiet) we got the chance to meet the owner. What a wonderful man he is. Super welcoming, absolutely helpful! He came to the table and was trying to help us decide what to eat (a couple of ppl in our party were not very familiar with Indian food). When we were undecided on what appetizers to share for the table he offered to make us something that was not on the menu. I think he called it a Samosa, but it was different than the vegetable samosas I usually get from the buffet. It was a potato patty with a lentils filling, all deep fried to perfection. It was delicious. So happy I found this place. It's my GO-TO food option anytime I visit Pueblo. Love it. PS: When we got to go boxes for our leftover protein, the staff brought to our table a brand new plate of saffron rice, so that we'd all 4 have enough rice to go with our leftover main course. This is GREAT customer service.

Yelp
I wasn't sure the best way to post about this restaurant. So here goes. We have never been but saw rave reviews. Our daughters cheer come was in Pueblo and we were hungry! Went to Mr. Tandoori's and we're excited as we love Indian! We arrived and were met by a gal kind of staring at us. She proceeded to ask if we were there for the buffet? Sure we replied. That's when she said "oh sorry we close at 2." By this time it was 2 on the nose. So confused by her asking then being like "sorry can't help you" we left. It was odd. As there were many still in the restaurant. I know that if someone comes in within the perimeters they should be served (honestly we didn't know they closed at 2). Fast forward that night. I was really craving Indian food so found a food deliver site that offered Mr. T's pickup, so decided to give it another chance. I ordered the pickles (mmm not my jam, tasted very strange), chicken curry medium (the exact name escapes me) & dall soup. When it arrived no utensils or napkins first (it's a to-go order ) & the chicken was so intensely hot. I mean HOT. I eat indian, Thai, Mexican & more and I like it hot. This was inedible HOOOOT. Needless to say I had to throw it out. It was not a medium by anyone's standards. Super super disappointed....

Yelp
I almost let a few unhappy reviews rob me of some PHENOMENAL food! This place was delicious and the portions are family style so two people can split one order. We had 3 people and couldn't finish 2 orders plus appetizer. Try the Samosa Chat, SO GOOD.
