Why Is the Food World So Afraid to Talk About Poop? | Eater

"Presented as a toilet-shaped, museum-style attraction (its name translates as “a house to satisfy anxiety”), this South Korean venue leans into bathroom aesthetics and theming to transform an indecorous subject into a curated, visitable experience about toilets and related culture." - JJ Goode

While certainly one of the most bizarre attractions in South Korea, even at age 29 this was an absolutely amazing place to stop and check out for an hour. Did I know really anything about the history of toilets before I came here? No. Did I learn a lot of fascinating stuff about the history in this country? Absolutely. Absolute hilarious statues outside the facility, and a great history inside the museum as well as cool park and exhibition across the street. This place is a bit off the beaten path, have to do a little bit of walking after a bus, so recommend driving there if you can. Really really cool exhibits though, and there is English inside. Also free admission!

Great content for both adults and children. There is the toilet-shaped building, but the cultural center across the street is actually with this museum as well - has an observatory on top. Cute souvenirs and donation box in the main museum building to be a 'toilet angel'. 😎

Small museum, with display of toilets on it's garden. If you want to know everything about the toilet history in Korea this is the place to go. The inside of the museum is small, only 2 stories were open to the public, with the first floor talking about the evolución of the toilet and the second story being a place for children to learn about poop. I would not travel just to see this place, but if you are in Suwon, why not. Entrance is free.

This place was amazing. What a wonderful way to showcase the historic nature of toilets. This Is a great way to spend an hour or two learning about the grounds. The whole experience was free. Perfect Saturday afternoon with the family.

It is such an interesting museum! Unfortunately we didn't get to see the whole thing, so the portion we did see was very small. I definitely think they could add more to it but then we didn't see the whole thing so I really can't say that. The museum seems massive but it really is about the size of a small house.

This place is great for kids. They laugh about all the toilets and poo, but its educational at the same time. The children's play area across fron the toilet house was everyone's favorite. The sculpture park was the most eye-popping.
