"As bank branches are retired, Australia finds itself with a surfeit of these solid, unwanted buildings. A few, like this one in Paddington, are finding a new lease of life as hotels. Mrs Banks, which dates from 1914, retains its art deco façade, but the interior has been transformed into a warm, welcoming space. Despite a few flashes of design flair, this boutique property is fairly sober and grown-up. Rooms are not especially large but are extremely comfortable and clean. Paddington is a character-filled suburb, filled with streets of immaculately restored Victorian terrace houses. It’s centrally located for exploring the wider city’s sights, but away from the main city crowds. The people there were super super nice!! We were able to have a nice chat and when we needed some extra water they went the extra mile without hesitation. Our room was decently big and the bathroom was super big as well, I'm not sure if we had a specifically disabled room/bathroom but it was nice having the space, handle by the toilet and a big shower space. The bathroom door didn't lock but that was most likely because of safety reasons. The beds were super comfy as well and came with a decent amount of pillow choices/thicknesses Location was really good, I was there for a concert so it was within walking distance and a lot of nice places were also right next door. Overall it was super nice and I loved it a lot!! :D

My husband and I flew in from the United States for a 4 night stay at Mrs Banks. We arrived at the hotel at 7 in the morning. Dylan, the manager of the hotel, greeted us and though he couldn’t get us into the room immediately, he took our bags and sent us off to a wonderful coffee shop down the street. Within the hour, he came down and found us. Our room was ready! We got our key. Throughout the stay, Dylan was helpful in so many ways, from food recommendations to excursions. He made the beginning of our 2 month trip in Australia a joy. Also, the room was, though small, quite nice. And very quiet.

I experienced the most comfortable and pleasant stay at Mrs Banks Hotel. Incredibly helpful and courteous staff, a super comfortable bed, fantastic shower water pressure. And smack bang in the middle of Paddington! I'll be back! Thank you, Dylan and team. For everything. 🙂

Very handy small hotel when staying in the city. Comfortable bed and good shower pressure. Extremely delicious breakfast. Relaxed vibe. Friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurants nearby and easy to get by bus into the city. Parking is hard in the area, so better to leave car at home and get the bus. Despite being on very busy Oxford Street on a Friday night, the hotel was very quite and did not hear any street noise. Good value.

Great Location, But Room Felt Claustrophobic|⭐️⭐️⭐️||Mrs Banks has a great location right in the heart of Paddington — easy access to cafes, boutiques, and public transport.||We stayed in a Queen Room, which we found quite small and unfortunately without proper windows. The glass bricks let in some light, but the lack of an outside view made the room feel a bit claustrophobic, especially at this price point.||A nice touch was the complimentary coffee and pastries offered in the lobby each morning. The staff were polite but not particularly warm — we weren’t greeted when coming or going, which left the service feeling a little flat.||Overall, a clean and well-located hotel, but I’m not sure it offered the best value for money.

Wonderful place. Situated right on Oxford St close to Paddington Market site. Easy walk to great shopping, cafes and Centennial Park. Rooms are modern and chic. Well appointed and adequately sized. Will stay there again next time we are in Sydney.

We stayed at Mrs Banks Boutique Hotel (seriously, 10/10 recommend), and a massive shout out to Dylan and the crew there for going above and beyond. ||Comfy bed, fabulous shower, kettle and coffee machine in room. Also coffee station, fruit, biscuits, pastries in lobby is a welcome bonus!!! ||Perfect location, easy access to Sydney and surrounds. Allianz Stadium and SCG only a few hundred metres walk away.

What a wonderful place to stay! I cannot fault the service, location or the rooms. Boutique rooms in the heart of Paddington, close to all the necessities! 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to come back!
