My wife and I were quite disappointed with our one-night stay at Mrs. Banks Hotel.
I called ahead to confirm that our twin room would have king singles, but unfortunately, they were just regular singles. To make matters worse, my bed was covered in short black hairs, as seen in the pictures.
We also faced issues with entertainment; Netflix, YouTube, and Fox were unavailable, and the Wi-Fi was consistently slow with poor range for guests, unlike the staff Wi-Fi which worked well and appeared to have consistent full range.
In the bathroom, we were presented with a bath mat but no towels.
The shower's metal fixtures were rusted, indicating a lack of maintenance.
Parking was another hassle; we were advised to park on Oxford Street, which took us 25 minutes to find a spot, a bit more guidance from the staff would have been appreciated.
The "selection of pastries" at breakfast consisted solely of small cold chocolate croissants—which goes against the definition of selection.
After my wife rolled her ankle returning to the hotel, I requested ice. The concierge simply opened the freezer and stated " no ice, just a freezer".
At $310 for one night, I believe this hotel does not live up to its boutique claims and falls short of any botique experience we have ever had.
Don't be misled by the name.
