A Viral TikTok Home Cook Opens Her First Vietnamese Restaurant in LA Soon | Eater LA

"I'm excited that Mrs. Chips Cookies is now open in Sherman Oaks out of a bright pink walk-up takeout window, operating Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at which they sell takeaway boxes of various cookie flavors like chocolate chip and rainbow birthday sprinkles." - Farley Elliott

Google
I'd give this place 6 or 7 stars if I could. My son just turned 3. His words, "Mama, no cake, only dinosaur cookie." Now he had never had a dinosaur cookie before but I knew that Mrs. Fields was exactly what we needed. When I called and placed my order with Emily. She was kind, professional and so helpful. She had me text her a picture of what he wanted. My son has a rare disease and gets sick quite often. The weekend of his birthday he had a 104 fever and I needed to cancel everything the cookie cake, bounce house etc. Though short notice, I reached out to Emily. I had her number from texting the dinosaur image. She was kind, concerned and courteous. She allowed me to reschedule his cookie cake for another weekend. I rescheduled it to this weekend and planned to pick up order October 3rd. Sunday morning we wake up and my son had 103.7 fever.🤦🏻‍♀️ ugh! Goodness how am I going to cancel again. Bounce House was already delivered outside and my poor son was too sick to even walk nevermind bounce. I was worried about how to still make this day special because no kid wants to watch a bounce house from the window they can't play in. I decided to pick up the cake myself because my sister who was supposed to get it but canceled bc my son was ill. Emily was again flexible, responsive to my texts, and helpful regarding changing times and accommodating. I drove 40 mins to pick it up and when I arrived realized the store was inside a mall, not in a store front like I had expected. But I had my sick, blazing fever, son in the car with me. And- he had no shoes. There was no way I could carry him and this huge cookie cake (half sheet) through the mall. Plus, he is sick. I called the store- Emily picked up and I explained. She said, "Let me ask my boss if I can bring it out to you and I will text you!" That was the moment I realized Emily who had been so helpful was not the owner of the store but worked there. Within 5 minutes my cellphone was ringing, it was Emily who delivered the cake to my car so I didn't have to take my son inside. As a leader, professionally, to see an employee be that committed and willing to go above and beyond for clients is HUGE. I hope that Emily feels appreciated and respected at work. I hope her boss knows what an amazing employee she is. Emily did not have to do any of the things that she did- fielding texts, making arrangements and rearrangements, etc. I am so grateful for her kindness and 100 percent recommended using this Mrs. Fields location to place your orders. On top of all of that amazing kindness. My son was SO excited to see a T rex on his super large cookie and it was delicious! While he was too sick to bounce or celebrate- the day was saved with cookie cake.. Emily did an amazing job decorating the cookie too (picture included)! In times like this, companies are more than lucky to have employees like Emily. I hope they understand and appreciate her!!!

Google
I ordered 2 Milk Chocolate Chip cookies, yesterday, through Uber Eats. I wish I'd checked my cookies, before rating them so well on Uber Eats. They gave me 2 Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chip cookies. You can't fool people who actually know the difference. I won't be ordering from this store ever again. Swindlers!

Google
Great cookies. Yes its a chain and they dont make the cookies from scratch per-say but.... they have a fresh baked flavor and taste pretty good. They need to have a Starbucks like RIGHT next to them and that would be a great combo. Generally there isnt much of a line and its pretty easy to get in and out with some cookies to eat while wandering the rest of the mall. Great place, love the smell of the cookies when passing by

Google
I came and purchased a Halloween cake for my daughter to take to her class and it is very nice. My daughter agreed to bring something for the Halloween party in class so my wife thought of an idea of a cookie cake and my daughter was fascinated with the idea. We preordered it and I went to pick it up last night. It came out much nicer than I could have even imagined. My daughter loved it and she just came from school saying that the cake was a real hit with all of her classmates. As long as she is happy, then I am happy and I want to thank Mrs. Fields for the wonderful cookie cake!

Google
I ordered chocolate chip cookies, since I had not had one for 2 months, I was so excited. But, very disappointing. The cookies were hard and uneventful. I actually had better cookies from Subway. It's cost more than it's worth.

Donna H.

Google
It's a small mom & pop store, which I like, and they have all the classic cookies, which I LOVE. I miss these cookies from my childhood. I wish there were more of these around town.

Cookies haven. Just watch your weight because you can’t resist the different flavors.

This place always have the best cookies, I can't go to the mall without stopping at Mrs. Fields, always warm .... always fresh .

Yelp
So excited to see a "Debra's Special" cookie again after so many years. A Debra's Special is the classic oatmeal, raisin and walnut cookie by this company that's not as super sugary sweet as many of the other cookies. Several years ago when this brand was at the top of the fresh baked cookie game and still trending, Mrs. Fields was my favorite guilty pleasure. By chance I had to go into a mall today (which I normally steer clear of) and saw a Mrs. Fields counter on the ground floor. I honestly thought they had all vanished from L.A. County; there used to be one in West Hollywood, one in the Beverly Center and even one in Beverly Hills years ago. But all of those are gone. Mrs. Fields still has a lot of the new cookie stores beat on taste. They just taste like real fresh baked cookies and not totally synthetic like some other brands. And they still have that silly incentive where the more cookies you buy the more free ones you get. So I always end up buying too many cookies. Fast service and it has that typical sterile mall ambiance. But anything for a warm and freshly baked Debra's Special. A personal tip is to stay away from the all chocolate/triple chocolate cookie; it tasted like raw cocoa to me and I threw it in the trash. It was not good. That was my 4th one (buy 3 get 1 free). The white chocolate chip is still to die for, and all the other flavors I tried were amazing. Plus the ample parking at this Westfield Culver City mall is totally free, which is extraordinary these days. After doing a little research, found out there really was a Mrs. Fields and she actually created all the store's most classic recipes.

Yelp
I've never had better cookies than the mini semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies here. They are amazing and always fresh. The service is always good. Don't miss out on these great cookies!

Yelp
So grateful for Mrs. Fields this Mother's Day! I was out in LA visiting my dad in the hospital and totally forgot about the holiday. I ordered a large cookie cake last minute as they are my mom's favorite and we always ordered them for her growing up on the east coast. I had no idea they had them in California! The cake was made just as I ordered and tasted fresh and delicious. Thank you for saving the day!

Yelp
Cookie shops often pop up, have a good run (or not), then pop away. You know who hasn't faded into obscurity? Mrs. Fields! The mall cookie shop staple! They been in the game way longer than I have - since 1977! I remember mall hangs back in my younger years and popping in for a cookie. Getting a Mrs. Fields' cookie cakes from one of your friends in high school was super cool, lol! I think what's kept Mrs. Fields going so strong is their consistency. You'll never have a bad cookie there. They are always soft and extremely delicious. They also stay relevant by keeping up with the demand of the times. For example, they do cookie cups now. So many nomz! Don't get the peanut butter brownie though. It's so dry, trying to do too much and it's just wack. If you have a hankering for a cookie, this should be a go to place. You can try places that come and go, sure, but for a reliably tasty baked good - Mrs. Fields is the hot spot.

Yelp
Wow, I wish I had read the reviews before I bothered to spend any money here. I would have saved myself $8. Do not spend your money here. To the franchise owners of this store, here are a few tips to help you improve your business: 1) Learn how to make cookies the way they're supposed to be made. For a $2+ cookie, I expected a moist, gooey cookie. Instead, I got chewy and overbaked. For the same money I spent on these overpriced, underwhelming cookies, I could have stopped at Ralph's, picked up 2 rolls of Tollhouse cookie batter and baked them at home (which I'm going to do tonight b/c your cookies so completely failed to satisfy my family's cookie craving last night). 2) Don't be rude. When a potential customer takes photos of your cookies to send to the rest of the family so that they can pick what they want, don't accusingly say, "Why are you taking pictures of my cookies?!?" Trust me, there's nothing spectacular about your display that I'm about to post on Instagram. And is there some delicate trade secret behind the naming or display of your cookies that you're fiercely protecting like the last panda on earth? I didn't think "Milk Chocolate Chip," "Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chip," and "Peanut Butter" were particularly razzmatazz names that needed to be protected. Or were the crooked tags some sort of nouveau display philosophy that is supposed to challenge someone to not think that you don't give a damn about your business? I'm also a Chinese American, suburban mom in my late 40's wearing capri leggings and a sweater. There's literally NOTHING about me that signals "thief" or "thug." 3) When you are rude to a customer, don't then try to be funny by saying (after she's bought cookies from your nice but clearly underappreciated employee): "Can I see the photos?" Not. Funny. Didn't laugh. And don't try to dig yourself in deeper by saying "Don't be angry" as the customer walks away. Here's an idea! Instead say, "I'm so sorry for being rude." Maybe you can offer to make up for your bad behavior! I know...mind blown. Here, now EVERYONE gets to see the photos. Lucky you, you even got a cameo in one of the photos! And I don't get mad. I get Yelp.

Yelp
Always quality you can rely on! The staff is nice, professional and on time. Can call in an order and pick it up soon.

Yelp
BEST COOKIE CAKE/desert ever White icing is the best and it's only makes sense to pay $10 more to get the bigger cake. Soooooo delicious. This is what I get for my bday ever year.

Yelp
Above and Beyond! So amazing and so yummy and exactly the custom order I wanted! Great price and turned around same day!

Yelp
I came to the the mall today to go to the UCLA urgent care. (Yup, there's a UCLA urgent care at the Westfield Mall in Culver City. It's called UCLA Health.) Anyway I was pleased to see that there was a Mrs. Fields Cookies store. So after my visit at the clinic, I stopped by Mrs. Fields. I purchased one cookie: a chocolate-chip-walnut cookie. It was delicious. But man, was it expensive . . . $2.51 for one cookie. However, it was nicely soft, moist just right and the sweetness was just right too. I could have eaten two more. But that would cost me a total of $7.53. Also my doctor just instructed me to limit my sugar. It's worth it though . . . but only once in awhile like after visiting an urgent care.

Yelp
I tried redeeming a code for a free cookie. The employee said they dont do coupons (codes). I guess there are stores that dont participate in these things, but they should post that somewhere in the store and on the store finder online. Do i have to go to every store, or call every store, to see if i can get my free cookie? (ie. My code was through verizon up. I pushed claim now on my app. It took me to Mrs Fields store locator. This location came out... It said show code to store associate. But it did say "participating" stores. ) I dont understand why they dont participate.

Yelp
I called Mrs. Fields at Westfield/Foxhills mall on Oct 8 2021 and bc I received such great service, they deserve my 5 stars review! For my daughter's 16th birthday, she requested a cookie cake from Mrs Fields. I called at 9:30am hoping they would take a short notice order and I was so Thankful that they did! The lady that took my order was very accommodating. I asked to have the cake picked up by 12pm that same day and she said no problem! I love that attitude! I appreciate that she was willing to help me out in such short notice and she knew it was for my daughter and with that kind of readiness and compassion attitude, I will definitely be a fan! I also asked if she could put a spider man design bc my daughter loves spider man and she did such an awesome job!!! The cake was freshly made, it was moist and the decorations made my daughter's bday special. Sad that I didn't get her name but she was there on 10/8/21 morning shift. Mrs. Fields is on the 1st flr near JC Penney. I'm so glad I called this location and thank you to the kind lady for coming through for me!

Yelp
damn those stupid little bite size morsels of awesome goodness... and chocolate. why? WHY! why are those things so freaking good? it's just eggs and flour and choco chips and sugar... what's the big deal? i'm so weak. we came by to get sofia some dessert. i ended up eating most of it. i'm so weak. oh, and they always have some kind of special like buy 20 get 100 free or something. WHY!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Kristin H.

Yelp
Just got a cake from here delivered by Postmates. They spelt my name wrong on the cake. When I called them they were rude. They said it's not a big deal- it's one letter. Won't order from here again.
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
Cookies doesn't taste like they use to, freshness and quality. Plus tips go to the owners and not the workers. Horrible..
google avatar

Carol C.

Yelp
I don't know about this standup location but I can tell you if you need to ever deal with the online service,AVOID!!! Very rude customer service, late delivery, and ridiculously expensive prices for what you get. Once again I don't know about this stand at the mall but I can tell you that if you want to do an order for delivery Work with another company. I hate to post negative but I did reach out to negotiate a solution to my complaint and all they did was tell me I should've read the fine print.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
I placed an order for a birthday cookie and when I got to the Century City location I realized I never checked out. Rosibelle saved the day and ended up making a birthday cake for me last minute. Def 5 star for their level of customer service and saving the day. They are beyond sweet and helpful here.
google avatar

Frankie P.

Yelp
This is generous, but they had good parking. Cookies used to be soft and chewy, but bought a dozen and half yesterday of the nibblers and they were as hard as a rock never buying from there again.
google avatar

Yelp
After my husband and I hit up a movie, we decided to go to Mrs. Fields for some cookies. Upon arrival, a lovely woman greeted us and started taking our orders. As she was getting things ready, a man came in and took over for her. Unfortunately, it didn't feel very friendly. It felt like he was rushing us, and when he asked a question, he wouldn't wait to hear us respond with our full answer and would cut us off mid-sentence. Then, as I was paying, I forgot to unlock my card, so it declined. After unlocking it, the man swiped it again but complained that his credit card machine charged him $1 for every swipe even if it declines. I didn't say anything but thought, "how is this my problem? Do you want to complain about your credit card machine contract or make $30 for some cookies?". His comment was unnecessary, and he should have kept that to himself. I'm giving four stars because of the woman and cookies but took away a star because of the man who needs some customer service training.
google avatar

Anthony P.

Yelp
The person that helped me was super friendly, there was no line, and everything was super quick. It's not a big shop or anything. It's more like you're just ordering at the front of a small storefront. At the time I picked up 6 mini cookies for around $5. Quality was comparable to any other mrs fields location. My semi sweet and chocolate walnut nibblers were fresh and delicious. This store is located on the first floor and on the JC Penny side of the mall. Parking here can sometimes be difficult, because although there's a lot of parking, it's a popular mall and often fills up quick. The nice thing is that this location is open till 9pm.

Yelp
I tried to use a coupon that I received in the mail that listed this very store on it, but the manager (owner?) said they would not honor it because they never received notice of the coupon from corporate. I don't care if they never received notice of it. The coupon was clearly legitimate. The proper thing to do from a customer service standpoint would have been to honor the coupon and then take it up with corporate themselves if they had an issue with it. I guess they'd rather have a disappointed customer and no profit from a lost sale than slightly reduced profit by honoring the coupon. Go figure.
google avatar

Adriene G.

Yelp
Watch the Clerks Carefully It seems as if they cannot do more than one thing at the same time. I asked for a Dozen Bite Size. I asked for 4 Oatmeal Raisin, 4 White Chocolate Macadamia, and 4 Chocolate Chip with Walnuts. I asked her like 4 times, but did not pay attention that she went past the Oatmeal Raisin each time. Of course I got half White Macadamia and half Chocolate Chip. Didn't double check until I was home, and of course I was pissed! How hard is it to put Cookies in a bag?

Brian M.

Yelp
I contacted corporate and they let me know this was a franchise. This is an excerpt from the corporate email I received. "Thank you for this additional information. I have forwarded all the details to the owners of the Westfield Plaza store, and I have requested that they or the store manager contact you directly to resolve this issue." I've heard nothing from the owners or their manager. Guess they just don't care.

Yelp
Spoke with Veronica on Wednesday and ordered a 1/2 sheet cookie cake to be ready by 10am Friday for a co-worker's farewell party. It was perfectly on time and ready for pick-up! The frosting was beautifully done, and it tasted wonderful as well--much sweeter than I remembered, the last time I had a cookie cake, but still delicious!
google avatar

Douglas M.

Yelp
Chain cookie shop. Pretty hard to let you down. Everything is cooked same day and they pretty much have everything down to a formula like most chains. Nibblers (mini cookies) are the way to go. Best bang for your buck, the place isn't "cheap"
google avatar

Yelp
Such a good experience here. I went to another Mrs fields before this, they're supposed to open up at 11 and I had a cookie craving, they weren't open and this one wasn't far. So I went in and the owner was baking fresh cookie, All i could think about was mmmmmm, cookies on my cheat day! Ordered a couple cookies, he thew 2 nibblers for free without me even knowing, such a nice and friendly person! Bottom Line: GO HEAR, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!! Every Sunday morning I will be getting cookies from here! My new Cheat day spot :D

Yelp
The employees at this location are very friendly and very nice. The "Peanut Butter dream Bar" is my personal favorite and is sinfully delicious. If you buy a certain number of cookies you get one free on certain varieties. Recommended.

Yelp
Thank you guys so much for making my niece's 8th birthday so special! I called in from San Francisco to order & pay for a cookie cake at the Culver City location on Wednesday, sadly I didn't catch the salesperson who took my order but she was very helpful, she also made it quick & easy. To get a pic & reaction of pure joy from my niece over her cookie cake makes my heart smile. Her cake cake out beautiful & more than what a expected Thank you so much & will make sure to call for the next Birthday occasion!

Yelp
Oh how wonderful tasting those little bites of sugar and butter taste after having a semi healthy salad at a retailer below! Seriously, they are good... almost good enough to justify the price paid for them. I cannot see how this store stays open. It seems to never have anyone in it, well except me, but I digress. As Rey mentioned, they always have some sort of "upside" gimmic going on... in case I want to extend my sugar coma just a wee bit longer. Pisser that you have to pay to park, but then your probably not coming to the shopping center just for this store. Oh yeah, Ill be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Mrs. Fields but the reason I am reviewing this place is because the owner/manager is super duper nice! I came here last minute to order a cookie cake for work. I only had about 45 minutes but he made it so quickly! I forgot my wallet but he knew I was in a rush so he told me to just pay later. When I came back to pay, he thanked me for coming back and even gave me a cookie! I'm definitely going to come back :)
google avatar

Larry H.

Yelp
The best milk chocolate and white chocolate macadamia cookies. I also like a brownie that they have. Forgot the name of it though. I remember when it was close to closing time they used to throw in an extra cookie or two to get rid of them and not save them for the next day. Not any more.

Yelp
Bomb cookies !!! One of my favorite places for cookies everybody should come here for some bomb cookies

Yelp
I just had the best pumpkin cookie ever!!! I usually stick to the chocolate chip or macadamia nut, but these pumpkin cookies looked Sooo moist They were soft & sweet. Soooo good. Would have given 5 stars is each cookie wasn't $2 and small. But I'll be back

Maygin H.

Yelp
I ordered a cookie cake for my daughter's graduation party. Someone else picked it up for me so I didn't see it until it got home. I was very disappointed in the the appearance of the cake. It was very sloppy. Whoever decorated it, should have let someone else do it, or fix the bad parts. The 2 looks like an upside down 5. They didn't put the boarder all the way around. (Did they run out of frosting?) it was off center. Maybe they need some retraining on cake decorating.

Yelp
Definitely coming back!!! I usually go to the Howard Hugh's location, but I will definitely start coming here. I went about a week ago because I was in a rush to get something for my mother-in-law's birthday. I was not really sure of what to get her as she is really complicated to please. I explained my situation to the young girl in the front, (I think her name was Jasmine) and she helped me out. She took her time and gave me different options and was so patient and helpful. At the end the in-law was happy as can be. Thanks young girl in the front!!!!
google avatar

Chelsea P.

Yelp
I mentioned that the Mrs. Fields at the Howard Hughes center/rave motion has better prices and the women behind the counter said "go there" and waved me away....uhhhh ok, bye. There's a professional way to handle feedback than shutting down a customer like that. I will not be going back and they lost a loyal patron. There are better prices elsewhere.
google avatar

Nesha B.

Yelp
Grrr I hate walking past here because that means I have to get a few semi-sweet bites lol. I hate the process are through the roof for the bites but it keeps me in check from over ordering more than what I should be having lol. Sometimes it's hit and miss sometimes they are soft and chewy sometimes they are semi chewy and the ends are hard as a rock. The customer service could be better I understand its a cookie place but not everyone knows about all your cookies and pastries you have so when someone ask you a question about your pastry answer instead of pointing to the case as if I'm asking where is it. I can clearly see it I'm asking how is it would you recommend it? Have you tried it? up sale people up sale lol.

Yelp
I order cookie cakes for every occasion possible because its the only cake the hubby will eat. My orders are always ready on time and exactly as ordered. Today I also had the strawberry banana smoothie and it was delicious!

Yelp
I called 15 minutes ahead to order a cookie cake and it was ready on time and it looked great. The nice gentleman behind the counter even threw in a free cookie for me!

Yelp
Bill at Mrs. Fields, Howard Hughes Promenade, was fabulous with my phone order of a 13" Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake for my 11 year old grandson's birthday. Extra chips, fabulous texture, great decorating, easily on-time and reasonable cost. Thanks so much, more than yummy, will definitely be back.

Yelp
I am a sucker for nibblers, especially since I like sharing (most of the time). Plus, I think since there are less and less Mrs. Fields franchises around, I'm more inclined to be a fan than not.

Great customer service but the chocolate chip cookies did not look or taste like they were baked well enough. The peanut butter/chocolate brownie was very hard and not fresh at all. It looked good but tasted like it had been sitting on display for about two days.

Yelp
First of all, the service sucks. The employees don't know how to say 'thank you'. They just hand you the receipt to sign and walk away. The girl gave me the receipt to sign and I was holding on to it because she walked away without saying anything. So she comes back and says to me "You could have just left it there". Oh okay thanks, you have a nice day too! The cookies were not soft & chewy like they usually are. They were hard and just not fresh. I can't believe I wasted my calories on that.

Yelp
I just had a very positive experience at this Mrs. Fields franchise in the Fox Hills Mall, well now the Westfield Culver City Mall. This appears to be a family owned and run franchise, so the service was top notch and lovely. I ordered two full sheet cookie cakes for my children's birthday party. The gentleman who took my order was sweet and kind. He even gave me some free nibblers straight out of the oven which were scrumptious. The order was ready exactly when it was supposed to be and the order was exactly as I had specified. All the guests commented on what a great idea this was for a birthday cake and everyone loved it, even the adults. This was a very positive experience and I will definitely frequent this Mrs. Fields in the future.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh out of the oven! Warm & soft just like I like them!! They don't serve them to you when they're hard as rocks.. See you guys soon!
