Under-the-Radar New Restaurants to Check Out in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"It’s now possible to get freshly made knafeh in the heart of Los Angeles thanks to Mrs. Knafeh, a mobile cart parked on Figueroa in front of the Orsini Apartments from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. except Mondays and Thursdays. Served alongside the sweet and cheesy treat are karak chai and Arabic coffee." - Cathy Chaplin

it was my first time having knafeh, and i was absolutely blown away!! i forgot to get her name, but the owner was so welcoming and gave me recommendations for my first try. the knafeh is made right in front of you, and you can tell that she puts so much care into her work-- i had to come back a 2nd time to try the crispy knafeh because the original was so good! i look forward to coming more in the future!

Ran into this place on my walk back home. I’m visiting from out of town and have been wanting to try Knafeh for the longest. Truly felt like a serendipitous moment! It felt scary trying something new but the owner said you’ll most likely want another one. She was so right, this was truly life changing! Will definitely be the highlight of my LA trip!

the owner was so lovely, and the knafeh was spectacular. i recommend getting one of each type of knafeh (original, crispy), as well as trying the atayef (5 types) also. a couple of us tried one of each knafeh, 4 types of atayef, a Yemeni tea, and a Dubai chocolate. please stop by and support her, and also try the other Turkish and Uzbek food trucks around as well ! last call is 15 mins before closing. her closing time is typically 10pm. closed Mon and Thurs.

We came for some Turkish kebab and couldn’t help but notice Mrs. Kunafa and her adorable little stand. We ordered the crispy kunafa with extra syrup — it was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. Highly recommended! She’s also incredibly sweet and welcoming.

Best Kunafa in LA! It was so crispy and cooked perfectly! Topped with pistachios 👩‍🍳 We usually drive all the way to Anaheim to have it but this gem is in LA! Will definitely visit again

Had this on my food hit list for a while. I just happen to be in the neighborhood so I stopped to try their knafeh. Ayah is super friendly and welcoming. She prepares everything fresh so be prepared to wait a few minutes. I ordered the crispy knafeh filled with cheese. It was warm crispy and yummy. There is a small table with a couple of seats. Most people either take it to go or eat in their cars. Street parking available.

Say ahhhhhhhhhh. My friends and I checked out this lovely styled establishment. The smell of the coffee and dessert leave your mouth drooling. The kindness for Mrs Knafeh herself makes you want coupled with one of the most delicious presentations of khafeh we have yet to try. Bravo on your delicious recipe and thank you for bringing this joy to our foodie tour.

I came here back in the spring after driving past a few times. Finally made a stop and now all I think about is when my next knafeh is. I ordered knafeh and atayef and they were incredibly delicious. Mrs Knafeh was wonderful to talk to and it was amazing watching her prepare and cook everything with such care and detail. She was also kind enough to give me a taste of the Arabic coffee and tea. The truck is also decorated beautifully. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Some of the best knafe I have ever tried. It literally melts in your mouth. We also got karak milk tea, so good! The service was also amazing! We were also able to easily find parking. Would definitely come back for more!

Yelp
I work on Figueroa and Mrs. Knafeh popped up as a suggestion for me on Instagram so I had to come check it out. It's a cart on Figueroa so if you don't pay attention you could easily miss it. I got the original knafeh and 4 of the atayef. My favorite was the sweet cheese atayeh but my friends loved the walnut cinnamon as well. The knafeh is shareable (three of us shared one) just to give you an idea of the size. The taste and texture kind of reminded me of cornbread if it wear flatter. Everything was delicious. I couldn't recommend it more.

Yelp
Stopped here on way to Union Station as we were looking for the viral chocolate knafeh. Well we couldn't resist trying the OG Knafeh and man was it amazing. The cheese pull was insane and the sweetness with cheese was just right. If you want it a little less sweet just ask her not to put as Much syrup, but mine was perfect.

Yelp
Best knafeh in California, you can't find anything similar, made fresh on the spot. Great service. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Great great quality. One of the most authentic knafeh in Los Angeles. Portion sizes were very generous and the owner of the business was very nice and friendly. 10/10 would recommend.
