"Opened in 1920, Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant served steaming plates of fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, and boysenberry pies. By 1940, the restaurant inside what was once the Knott family home had become a phenomenon, selling up to 4,000 chicken dinners each Sunday." - Amy McCarthy

My dad swears that this is the best fried chicken he's had. I had to find out if he was right. We must have come during an odd time because my chicken was REALLY dry. Tasted fine just...left me wanting more. My husband loved his spicy chicken sandwich. Soup was ok, I let hubs have the salad. Sides were... sides. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it here and the staff was nice. But was hoping for more tender chicken. Maybe next time?

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Portion to Price: 5/5 Overall: Good food with great portions. The extended review... Food: 4/5 - Fried Chicken Dinner - Love this place for this meal. You will end up full and potentially have left overs to go home with. It is a little on the saltier side which I'm fine with. Soup, salad, and buscuits to start! Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive service Ambiance: 4/5 - A great setting which is very spread out Portion to Price: 5/5 - No complaints

The chicken was great; moist inside and extremely crispy on the outside. The “fries” are a take on home fries and were magnificent. But the mashed potatoes, gravy and corn had zero seasoning and little taste. Would we go again, yes. The boysenberry pie was really tasty especially with vanilla ice cream. The restaurant is a cute country place with cute shops to enjoy after your meal to walk it off. Fun outing and scratched off an item from my husband’s bucket list!!

Family atmosphere, waitress had amazing customer service. Had to try the famous 100 year old fried chicken recipe. It didn't disappoint, it was literally the best fried chicken ive ever had. Crunchy, crispy, juice seasoned perfectly, portions are so big. Breast, wing, thigh, leg. Mashed potatoes perfection, strawberry rhubarb side and cabbage and ham, 6 biscuits with boysenberry Jam. And comes with pie slice. Under $26.00 could feed two. Additionally $8.00 to split the plat but worth it if you want to share. Kid, had the sliders, equally as good. I wish we had this restaurant in Oregon. 10 out of 10.

Consistency! It always tastes the same. Perfect! I've come for over 60 years. No skimping or changes to keep up with the times. Happy memories. The refurbishment is beautiful.

I couldn't believe how much this restaurant with so much history has completely changed for the worst. The food was horrible, the menu is not only different but very limited. The service was horrible, it's not anywhere close to the way it was. We got 5 biscuits for 3 people, I ordered something that the menu described had mozzarella cheese... I asked the waiter doesn't this come with mozzarella cheese, I couldn't tell if it melted in or they forgot it and she said "I don't know" with a face as if she didn't work at the restaurant. I asked her for the cheese since my plate was $27, she brought me cheddar cheese for a spaghetti like dish. We asked for biscuits n gravy and was told they didn't serve that after breakfast... But that she'll give us some anyways, it was a tiny cup completely cold. It was a Saturday after a holiday and the place was empty, I should have realized it was empty because it had changed horribly. Prices have doubled and portions are tiny with bad service. A few years ago you had to wait for hours to get into the place. $100 for 3 people, not to mention $6.99 for a soda.... What a waste

It's been a few years since I've eaten at Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Unfortunately, my recent experience was not as I remembered. The place itself hasn't changed much. That includes wait times to be seated, which took about an hour. Luckily, we managed to get a hold of a few menus so we knew what we wanted to order a few minutes after we sat down. This place is known for its fried chicken dinner, so that's what we ordered. A single dinner comes with half a fried chicken, soup, salad, a side corn and cabbage, and a slice of pie. The salad was ordinary, a bit watery and kind of skimpy. The chicken noodle soup was thick, chunky, and lukewarm. It resembled and tasted like the filling in a chicken pot pie. It was far from typical chicken noodle soup. The corn and cabbage tasted as expected, but were also lukewarm. The fried chicken was piping hot, but overcooked and a bit on the dry side. The mashed potatoes and gravy were fine. We both found the food a bit bland. Tobacco sauce helped all around. The fried chicken dinner costs $26.50. There is an extra $8 fee to split it between two people and add $5 if you want all white meat (three chicken breasts). That's $40 bucks between two people which is not a bad deal, but the food didn't taste as good as I remembered. Maybe we came on an off night? 🤷 One positive take away were the staff. We had a large party and everyone thought our server was friendly, attentive and on point.

Came for an early dinner after a few hours at the park. Fried chicken was crispy, cherry rhubarb yummy, cabbage was bland needed more ham, biscuits were fluffy and with the boysenberry jam was yummy. Neice and her hubby loved their pot pies with the flaky crust. Service was friendly and attentive. Since I have an annual pass, we were able to apply the pass discount on the entire party.

Yelp
Be wanting to go try the place for a long time Few people recommended and they definitely did not disappoint me. The food was great. Everything we try was really good no complaints. The server was very kind. It was her first time she gave us great recommendations The soup was really yummy. The bread was really good and I also got the half chicken and it was very good not dry. I will definitely would be going back

Yelp
We have eaten here a dozen times. We are from outer state & have always made Knott's fried chicken dinner a part of our must do list. Unfortunately this evening our family dinner was disappointed w/ the quality. The fried chicken was dry & bland. The chicken had little flavor. This was not the old school Knott's Chicken dinner we remember. However, the waiter was very helpful, very friendly & offered great service. Note: the chicken tenders inside the park was so much more flavorful.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst places you can take your family out to eat if you're visiting from another state find another restaurant to eat at Having eaten at Mrs Knotts Chicken, it was the worst meal I have had so far, I would recommend finding another restaurant to eat at instead

Yelp
Everything was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING well worth the drive the food was delicious the customer service was great will definitely come back

Yelp
I had fond memories of Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner from the early 2000s, and haven't had a chance to be back since then. When friend offered a visit to Knott's and it was around dinnertime, we knew we needed to eat here! Smaller groups seem to have a shorter wait, as we were seated within 20 minutes at 5 pm. Friend and I split the boysenberry bbq pulled pork sandwich ($24.50) and Mrs. Knott's famous fried chicken ($26.50). We chose onion rings over fries as our side for the sandwich. Our chicken was a dinner entrée, so it came with mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuits and boysenberry jam, tossed salad, sweet corn, and a choice of pie for dessert (we picked boysenberry). The sandwich was pretty good, but the chicken dinner was a disappointment. The fried chicken had a nice crisp to the fried skin, but it was clear the chicken was overcooked. The mashed potatoes and gravy was super salty. The corn was okay as well as the salad (comes with a boysenberry-based creamy dressing). Pie was the standout of the entrée package. If you have an Knott's pass, make sure to ask for the pass dining discount. Since we were here for the park, we did theme park parking and ended up on the other side of the park as we came later in the day, so it was a bit of a walk to get to the restaurant. Can't say how much parking would be if you're here just for the restaurant, but since it's outside Knott's, you don't have to worry about needing theme park admission to dine here. BF did mention seeing online that Mrs Knott's Chicken Dinner has resumed their midnight buffet, so we might come for that next time. But not for the regular dining experience.

Yelp
After a long, electrifying day at Knott's, my family used to order takeout and indulge in some of the juiciest fried chicken, mashed potatoes smothered in a rich white gravy, and fluffy biscuits. It's been over a decade since I last had their food. Silly me thought the dine-in experience would be even better than takeout. We came for a quick, casual meal. Despite the restaurant being less than half full, it took over 30 minutes to be seated. To our dismay, lunch was underwhelming. Underseasoned, lukewarm fried chicken. Sickly sweet gravy over buttery mashed potatoes. Fair biscuits. A family member, who recently visited Knott's, raved that the food from the takeout restaurant tasted just like the good old times :') Next visit will be to Mrs. Knott's Chicken To Go - I still have hope of reliving that delicious childhood memory!

Yelp
The fried chicken here is delicious, tender and juicy, old school fried chicken worth the trip each and every single time . The service is hectic but appreciated by me because it's stupid busy in here . The fried chicken dinner meals come with awesome biscuits and delicious soup or salad, I will continue to come here for many years to come . Thanks .

Yelp
So Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner is a true staple of the park. This was our second time going to the restaurant and overall I'll say it was "ok." Service was excellent both times, the restaurant is kept clean and has a nice buzz to it (not too loud, but not silent either). The entree portions are ginormous... literally can't finish everything in one sitting without disliking yourself. My husband got a chicken dinner and i got the cheeseburger (complete with chicken wing on top). Both came with dinner rolls (we added boysenberry butter for a $1 upcharge), a side salad and cup of chicken noodle soup (delish), the main course, and a piece of pie for dessert. So.much.food. They were very accommodating when I asked for broccoli instead of fries or onion rings with my burger. The burger was juicy and tender, the chicken is just ok - not overly crispy, too oily. My husband loved the mashed potatoes and the side of corn was unbuttered/unsalted. For pie, they had boysenberry or apple pie. Also "just ok" - we each had 2 bites of each and were done. Between being full and also not very good, wasn't worth finishing or taking with us. There is a parking lot, but we took our hotel shuttle as parking is quite pricy ($50 for premium, maybe $30 for standard). There is a short-term parking lot that is free for a few hours if you make a purchase - check the knotts website to verify.

Yelp
I took my family here because my son always says "it smells delicious!" as we are walking into Knott's. We had made reservations and got seated right away. I can't tell you how long the wait would be but there seemed to be plenty of seating for walk-ins or they keep their ratios fair to their servers. Food was hot and fresh when we received it. You get a tremendous amount of food with your dinner order and will have plenty of left overs. My son is picky and for an up charge, you can get French fries with their meals! I had one cocktail and was tart but tasty (boysenberry lemon drop). They look like they had a full bar with seating, so hubby and I are curious to come back for an adult Knotts date.

Yelp
We were in Anaheim, California and haven't been to Mrs Knott's Chicken in several years so decided to stop in. The place looked the same with that ole time vibe, I love it. No two chairs at your table are the same. Like a sit down dinner at home where you come as you are. No fancy this and that but you're coming there for food and to fill your belly. My wife and I shared a chicken dinner and I had the chicken pot pie. The pot pie was full of chunks of chicken and the crust was nice and flaky. The chicken pieces are big crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside just as I remembered. If you don't eat much try sharing one chicken dinner with someone else because after you're done with the soup, salad and chicken plate, here comes the dessert. The dessert is a part of the meal. We opted to take our dessert back to our hotel because we were stuffed. The only reason I gave it a four star is because the parking is bad. But don't let that stop you from having a good meal.

Yelp
We've been to Mrs Knotts several times this year and whether it's been a super busy holiday week or a slower normal weekday, the food has been consistent- always been delicious and plentiful, only the service varied as expected. Even on less busy days you'll want to book reservations in advance, you can often do that just 1-2 days before your visit unless it's a busier day. You can book that online. We walked in on a busy Sunday and even though they told us 45 minutes, it actually took less time, probably closer to 20-25 minutes. There is a lunch and dinner menu, but we were slightly disappointed that the lunch menu is not offered on the weekend, you have to order from the dinner one so you pay the same price for either lunch or dinner. However. If you have the season pass, don't forget to show it as you can get a decent discount. The fried chicken dinner is shareable, though watch out for the split plate fee in which they will split the entree into two plates and provide extra sides, it was $8 which was not necessary. You don't need to have them split it for you, just share and split it yourself. It's typically enough food even for two adults. You receive 4 pieces: a leg, thigh, breast and wing. With the mashed potatoes, soup/salad, veggies, biscuits and pie slice, it's still a decent value for a sit down restaurant. We also ordered the vegan chicken tenders and that was far more disappointing. I posted the photo, it's really small portions comparatively, and I would have expected more for that price. That one is barely shareable and priced close to the same as fried chicken. Our server still managed to check in on us regularly so that was quite amazing considering how busy it was so we still hope to continue to coming back as it's been a good value and consistent experience.

Yelp
Came to eat on a holiday while at Knott's berry farm. We got sat down right away and used the QR code to see the menu. Everyone was friendly and great quick service. We started with biscuits served with boysenberry jam, delicious! During holidays dinner menu is only served, all day. We all got entrée's with soup and salad, both were just ok. Our chicken was good well fried, crunchy and juicy. It came with slices of boysenberry pie we took to go. Our waiter Ryan was attentive and friendly. Overall food was ok but great friendly service.

Whitney S.

Yelp
Just as good as I remember! You get so much food for the buck. I got the chicken pot pie and it came with a selection of choices which I decided on a salad, corn, rhubarb and bread. And lastly a slice of pie! Our waitress Joyana was the nicest person we have ever had as a server. Huge props!

Yelp
Stepping into Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant is like stepping back in time. The historic ambiance, filled with vintage photographs that tell the story of the restaurant and the surrounding area, creates a nostalgic charm. The buffet experience was a delightful experience of classic comfort food. The hot trays offered a variety of familiar favorites, such as crispy fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, buttery corn and rolls. The salad bar was a refreshing addition, allowing guests to customize their meal. The service was impeccable. The servers were attentive, efficient, and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. They quickly removed cleared plates and offered refreshments repeatedly. While the food was good, the true highlight of Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant is its rich history and warm atmosphere. It's a place where you can savor not just the food, but also the memories of the past.

Yelp
Make reservations !! (Saves time) We came around Christmas time of last year after seeing the good reviews / we had this place in the past. A local gem but the quality of the food and the wait for the food was just bland. We all ordered fried chicken but felt like the seasoning for the food was very minimal. We had to ask for hot sauce to spruce it up but felt like it still didn't help. Our meal came with corn but it was served on a small plate and was cold instead of hot or warm. The server was nice but felt she was a bit overwhelmed with the busyness of the restaurant.

Tatiana M.

Yelp
After many years of living in the OC, finally made it here! We had reservations so we were seated promptly. Once we were seated, we got freshly baked rolls yum! With jam and butter. I went for the Mrs Knott's fried chicken (3 pieces all white meat) plate, and it comes with mashed potatoes and country gravy. All lunch entrees come with your choice of tossed salad (big portion!), cup of soup or house rhubarb, sweet kettle corn or cabbage seasoned with ham. I went for the salad and corn lol. Our waitress was a sweet heart and thankfully the place wasn't crowded, we got our food really fast, warm and delish! Definitely will come back, FIVE STARTS FOR SURE!!

Mario B.

Yelp
"I'm a longtime fan of this place, and for good reason - their fried chicken is hands-down the best! I've been coming here for an impressive 45 years, and it never fails to hit the spot. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and order up - you'll be hooked and wanting to come back for more!"

Drew Q.

Yelp
3 stars?? If this place had 3.5 stars I would let that pass. But 3 is wrong. This place is 4 stars to me. It's one of the few down restaurants here at Knotts berry farm and is located right outside the park. Food is good , service is great and it's the best eatery here in my opinion. We have had dinner here almost every time we come to Knotts. I got chicken fried steak dinner which came with soup, salad, sides of mashed potatoes and corn. Also a slice of pie. You are not going to get this much food at this price at any other amusement park. Kids meals come with jello and are really big portions for a kid. Could feed a not very hungry adult. I didn't take any pics cause we were so hungry good got devoured as soon it hit the table. Highly recommend eating here if you are coming to Knotts berry farm

Evie B.

Yelp
The original Mrs. Knotts Chicken is the best. One of my favorites. The staff is always kind and helpful..

Dylan V.

Yelp
It had been over 20 years since I've had the pleasure of eating at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner and let me tell you: FLAVOR! What better way to end the year then with the crispiest of fried chicken with the decadence of white gravy mashed potatoes and rich chicken noodle soup. I might start the new year tomorrow with a trip back to Knott's for a fried chicken lunch! By the way, I am taking slices of Boysenberry Pie home!

Rosanna L.

Yelp
We were visiting Knott's Soak City and decided to give their famous chicken dinner a try. When we arrived they told us it was about a 35 minute wait so we stopped by the car to drop off some stuff. We actually got called 20 minutes in. Inside had a old rustic feel with all their furniture made of wood. We were showed to a table towards the back. It looked like they were short staff since our server didn't stop by until maybe 10 minutes later. We were a little confused with the choices in the dinner entrees so we had to get clarification. We ended up ordering the Chicken dinner and a chicken pot pie. We were a party of 2 adults and 1 - 6 yr old and we weren't sure if we needed to order a third item. Our waitress told us the dinners are huge so we decided to go with 2 entrees. First came our salads and chicken noodle soup. For the salad, we choose the boysenberry dressing which was pretty good. Tangy yet sweet. The chicken noodle soup was a creamier version but not bad. They also served biscuits with butter and jam. It was ok. I prefer honey biscuits. My chicken dinner came with 4 pieces, 1 drumsticks, 1 wing, 1 thigh and 1 breast. I don't like white meat so I asked if I can have 2 thighs instead but when my order came, I still got the breast. The thigh was very tasty. It had a nice crispy exterior with very tender meat and juicy. The drumstick and the wing on the other hand were very dry. The breast meat was also dry as well. Had to cover the taste with ketchup. I got to taste my fiancee's chicken pot pie. I wasn't much of a fan. The meals also came with cabbage & ham or corn. Both were bland as well. For dessert, we both opted for the boysenberry pie but I felt it tasted a little too sour for my liking. Overall the meal was a bit underwhelming. However, prices were good for an amusement park. Service was ok. It took a while for our waters and missing silverware to come. My fiancee's alcoholic drink came when we were eating dinner. They said there only had one bartender that night. We probably won't be back but worth trying once. If you only come for the restaurant, they do have metered parking. I think I saw a sign that first 90 minutes is free.

Justin R.

Yelp
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner offers the nostalgia of a good old classic American meal at Knottsberry Farm. I don't think anyone is wowed by the food. However I must say the chicken was fried well and succulent. You can tell, they've been doing this for a while. The sides are forgettable and taste almost like they're out of a can. What is nice is the overall full course meal and the feeling like you're at Mrs. Knott's farm and she wants to feed you before you're back on the road. For starters: you get soup, salad, and bread. Then your entree w/ two sides. I would recommend the fried chicken, I meeeean it's what they're known for. Then to cap the meal w/ desert and the choice of cake & ice cream. I would recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. The restaurant seems to always be crowded and walk-ins can easily be a 30-45 minute wait.

Yelp
We were bringing a friend to Knott's who hadn't been there in years and had never been to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner, so we were excited to share the experience. I'm a big fan of their chicken pot pie, which I've gotten both as dine-in and take-out, but unfortunately I've recently been diagnosed with celiac -- which means no chicken pot pie and no fried chicken. I was actually afraid I wouldn't find anything to eat on the menu, but I was glad to see that there are certain items that are labeled "gluten-free." I ordered the Tri-Berry "Boysenberry" Salad and added grilled chicken on top, and I made sure to let my server know that I had celiac. This is a best practice at restaurants so they can try to avoid cross-contamination (use a clean knife, prepare on a clean surface, try to make sure nothing with gluten touches the food). However, when my salad arrived, it was just lettuce, berries, and chicken -- they'd omitted the toasted almonds and feta cheese, neither of which have gluten in them. My friend ordered the same salad (without adding chicken) and hers arrived normally. Although it wasn't very busy, it was difficult to get our server's attention. When I finally did and I asked her if I could have the almonds and feta, she said, "Oh, you want that?" No apology for the confusion. It took a while but she finally returned with little plastic cups of the toppings that were missing. I asked her why they weren't included in the first place and she said, "Oh, the kitchen must've heard gluten-free and thought you didn't want dairy either." Now, this is true of some celiacs -- they avoid dairy. But it was a little frustrating to have all allergens (dairy, nuts) removed from the salad without any conversation about it. In the end, the grilled chicken was OK. The salad was very large. The berries were fresh and excellent. The boysenberry vinaigrette wasn't the same as the kind they sell in the store -- not like an Italian dressing with boysenberry, but a pink gelatinous goo. I did not enjoy the dressing and barely ate any of it. (My friend mentioned she would've liked her dressing mixed in instead of served on the side.) Also my Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade) tasted weird so I switched to Diet Coke. They've recently done some renovations and really spiffed up the ladies room and expanded the waiting area, which looked very nice. But if you're going for the food and the service, maybe keep your expectations a bit low.

Brian H.

Yelp
Waited an hour. Son ordered a steak medium rare. Steak came out raw. It was still mooing. We told the Manager and he took the meal off. Comped it. He apologized and made it right. Very long wait for mediocre food. Not returning anytime soon.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
I had to get out of the house for a few hours because lloyds had just sprayed, so I decided to kill a few hours at the marketplace, and Mrs. Knotts. I haven't been here in a while, and I came mid-day, so it was nice and quiet before the chaos of Scary Farm crowds would head over. I went with the chicken dinner which comes with a salad, soup, the chicken, w sides, and a slice of pie. It's a TON of food, and I always have leftovers. They even give you some Boysenberry for the biscuits. There is a lunch special, but I Just prefer all the extras. The customer service was great- very nice, friendly, and quick. I need to come back more often!

Yelp
We were hungry after Knott's and heard great things about Mrs Knott's fried chicken. There was a wait which they text us when the table was ready. The restaurant is clean and the customer service was friendly. The menu is vast and there's plenty of options. We went with the Mrs Knott's famous fried chicken and the NY steak. Everything was edible but pretty hyped up. I will say the fried chicken had really crispy tasty skin and the meat was juicy. The NY steak was overdone and not very flavorful. Hubs asked for A1 to help the no flavor out and they don't have it. The sides, salad and pie were okay. Overall, it's expensive for what it is and overhyped. Glad we got to try it but would dine in at another spot in the future.

Thuyvi M.

Yelp
Came to check out Knott's berry farm park and was told to try the fried chicken and read about it's history. It was busy on New Year's day and I couldn't make reservations since they were fully booked. So after hitting the theme park for a couple hours we did a walk in and was told it was a 30 minute wait for party of 4. Left my phone number and walked around the shops nearby. Within 15 minutes I got a text out table was ready. The restaurant is cute and old but I'm here for the chicken. We were seated and brought biscuits and drinks fairly quick. Our waitress was nice and friendly and it was busy so we expected it to be a bit slow on service. She was still wonderful making sure we were good and took care of us running a bunch of tables. I just ordered the 4 piece chicken dinner and shared it with my mom cause it was quite a lot of food for one person. It came with soup, salad, chicken, corn, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and a slice of pie. I had to take the pie to go. Fried chicken was fresh and crispy but wished it was crisper lol. The chicken wasn't oily and overly salty. I can't say it's the most amazing fried chicken in the world but it was good. Mashed potatoes were thick and the gravy was flavorful. Salad was fresh and simple and OMG the soup was probably my favorite. It's like eating the inside of a chicken pot pie or chicken and dumplings. Creamy and flavorful and even my kid stole it from me. Biscuits were good with the boysenberry jam but they were dense and I didn't want to fill up on biscuits. I just ate the tops and bottoms. Overall a fun dining experience on top of enjoying the rides at Knott's berry. I'd come back and try other dishes like their chicken sandwich or pot pie! Prices aren't too bad with the amount of food you get. The kids meals came with jello before nd ice cream afterwards.

Yelp
A little disappointing the atmosphere was okay so much changes not all for the good. They expanded from the old steak house that was originally on back of the chicken house restaurant More fast/restaurant customer service a little low end. No smiles no hellos and greeting from host staff. They have a what looks like a full bar. Don't look real busy especially with Fridays restaurant across the way with also a full bar. Not busy at all So we were seated menu has minor changed but basic the same. Some of the original stuff was present. A free can of boysenberrys ? Salad was good Soup was right on. Now the main course. Mash potatoes dry like they been sitting in open air in the kitchen. Gravy helped a little. Cabbage a little on the salty disappointed with my chicken! Dry! I get white meat never had it taste this way since coming 30 plus years. Outside crust not what is expected. Mrs Knotts did something similar to Pioneer Chicken. A wet batter how do I know well been eating this chicken since my teen years native so cal resident. Even when cold still had flavor and light moistness like pioneer chicken does. This is not the traditional recipe a palate knows well Cut corners Cedar fair/Six flags ruin traditional chicken that was unique in its self. Sad how instant progress ruins true traditional things Don't know if I will return? So may memories spent time with my mom now in heaven, purposed to my wife there. Very disappointed

Yelp
Way overpriced, middle of the road food, fried chicken over hyped. Very nice service however, in a tourist trap situation. Nothing really stood out other than the $26.00 for a single fried chicken plate..

Yelp
Boysenberry everything!!! Good atmosphere with plenty of seating and open bar seating for small groups. Located right outside the park, so easy to have a drink or two while having a full day in the Knotts park. Friendly staff who made suggestions and enhanced our dining experience. Located Right on Knott's property so very easy access.

Yelp
I'm not sure which Yelp page to use here. I saw another one with the same name. Anyway, this review is for the Boo-fet that's offered with the Knott's Scary Farm event. The food comes from Mrs. Knott's chicken dinner. Good food and when it's buffet style it's even better. I can't get enough of the macaroni and cheese. And the pies. So good! I'm not a big fan of the mashed potatoes, because the skin is still there. That's odd to me. The Boo-fet is definitely worth the $50. They have different buffet times. And the Boo-fet location sometimes changes, but is typically at Murphy's inside the park. The food is always delicious!

Yelp
This review is for the midnight buffet, currently happening during Knott's Scary Farm. I think it's $22 plus tax and comes with a drink. I was looking forward to this since my friend told me they used to have this buffet back in the day and he would just go for the buffet late at night and it was good food. I tried it and it was not worth it. There were only a few entrees, it's cardboard plates and plastic utensils and your drinks come in the small paper cups that passholders get in the park. It's no Storyteller's Cafe buffet. My favorite food items were the Boysenberry breakfast sausage, eggs with bell peppers, sausage gravy and breakfast potatoes. The biscuit was more like a dinner roll and the chicken was sad. Our server was really nice and kept checking up on us to see if we wanted a re-fill on our sodas. One other note, you have to ask your server for soda, there's no self serve, so with the small cups, we kept having to ask our server to go back multiple times for refills. I would recommend it if you're leaving the park and don't feel like stopping at Denny's or some other late night spot before heading home and if you have a long drive. There was no wait when we arrived at midnight and they restocked items at a decent rate. The Halloween decor was minimal-ish in here too. I felt like they could've done more to add to the theme, but it was lackluster. Overall, ok food for the price, but wouldn't go back.

Yelp
First of all we have not been here in about 13 years since we moved out of state, but we watch a youtuber rave about the food, so since we were in town, we decided to try it. The wait time at 4:00pm on a Saturday, less than 20 minutes, given the fires in the area, normally this wait time be a lot longer. We sat down, ordered our drinks, the. we looked over the menu, not much had changed in all of the years, except the price has increased. We both ordered the traditional fried chicken, but my wife chose the cabbage over the corn which is what I chose. less than 5 minutes our soup, salad and biscuits came out. The soup was hot and very flavorful. The salad is what you would expect, I did choose the boysenberry vinaigrette dressing which was amazing! The biscuits, had the right texture, but were very bland, they needed some salt and sugar in the mix. The boysenberry spread, we're told was home made, had zero flavor, it looked good, but feel very short on flavor, it's like they forgot the sugar in the recipe. The main meals came out about 10 minutes after we finished the soup and salad. The chicken was scorching hot, which it how I like it. The mashed potatoes as well were scorching hot. The chicken was cooked all the way through, and very juicy, not greasy, but lacked in flavor, again, no salt? Why? I can say the portions were HUGE! The mashed potato's were real, not packaged, and surprisingly had flavor. The corn tasted as if someone took some corn from a can, smothered it in butter and served it, but again, no salt. I wanted so much to say that this was the best chicken I have had in years, but I can't . Something has happened to the recipe, maybe they reduced the salt to be more healthy, but if that is why, then they need to bring it back. It does not taste the same. It's like the Colonel Sanders only using 7 of the 11 herbs and spices. Our waitress, Claudia, was amazing, very helpful with the menu, very prompt taking our order and making sure that we received our food in a timely manner, and then packing up our pie to go for us. If this review was on service alone it would have 5 Stars! Mrs. Knotts , please go back to the ORIGINAL recipe that won us all over, you not doing any justice to Cordelia Knott, if she tasted this food, she have you cook it all over again. On a side note and to update this review, We just left The Plaza Inn at Disneyland, and Mrs. Knotts could take a lesson from the Mouse. Had their chicken dinner, came with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, four pieces of chicken, the wing and breast are still attached, $19.99. I know you don't get salad / soup or a dessert, but the flavor was way better seasoned. For my money, Disneyland has a better Fried Chicken Dinner!

Yelp
expecting a lot from a restaurant in/near a theme park is definitely a dice roll but our server Janice was actually amazing! she was sweet & welcoming & very quick, whenever i asked for something she was back in less than a minute, very impressive! i was with four adults total & three kids. food was great except for mine, i usually love spicy fried chicken sandwiches but this was not it. everything elSe was on point though, fried chicken, biscuits & soup were great & the kids liked their food as well. when i told Janice i didn't like my sandwich she was quick & understanding & took care of it. on the way out Haley at the front desk was very sweet & patient with the kids & honestly all the parties. also in case you didn't know, the portions are huge! we came on a Sunday so i belief it's only dinner menu but all adult entrees came with salad, soup, biscuits & dessert! kids items were generous too, the biscuits & soup were very good & even the salad, everything was fresh & tasty! i didn't have dessert but the others in my party enjoyed it.

Yelp
Disappointing with slow service. The biscuits were good but the rest of the food does not amaze me. We had the fried chicken with waffled and it tasted like the chicken had been sitting for a while.. the kale salad was ok along with the chicken soup. I would not go out of my way to eat here. I would pass and have something in the park instead.

Yelp
Arrived during the lunch hour with the hubster, we had 2 plates, 2 chicken dinners. I first ordered corn, had to send it back, it just did not seem as fresh as I thought it should be. The chicken was juicy and served hot, the creamy chicken noodle soup was the absolute best, the cabbage tasted like Sunday dinner, it was great as well seasoned well, it was severed hot and I would definitely order again. Overall, the experience was delightful

Yelp
Stopped by for their 90th anniversary. Food was delicious as always. Service was also exceptional. They offered a complementary can of boysenberry jam and a pin as part of the anniversary event. There was a scratcher where you can get 10% off the meal and other prizes. We were able to use the discount on top of our season pass discount which was a nice surprise. We ordered the chicken pot pie meal and chicken parmesan. Both dishes were good. Their chicken noodle soup was so yummy that I ordered a bowl of it. They also had props set up for National Fried Chicken Day and for their anniversary event. Their limited vintage menus were also available at each table. You can see their original menu and how cheap the prices were back then!

Yelp
I blew off eating a potentially great dinner, just to eat here. I was super excited for it. I have no regrets, because I have always wanted to try the chicken dinner here. It wasn't super clean, and the silverware is already at the table, face down in a carry all, with napkins, etc. I was a little turned off when I noticed the pincher bug crawling on the silverware, and napkins. We got new of course. The chicken dinner was good, but nothing to write home about. I can't say I would stop here for dinner again while going to the park. Maybe if nothing else is open, or near by. Otherwise save yourself if you are out for a great meal. If you are going just to say you tried it, by all means. Then at that point it's some what worth it.

Yelp
Highly suggested to make a reservation on their website. Came here on Father's Day and had a fair amount of wait 25-35 mins from check-in. Staff were friendly and our waitress was as well. The place is known for their famous chicken and it did not disappoint. The portions are big and start you off with soup and salad. The biscuits are delicious and their jam. I had the chicken and the leg and wing were crispy but thigh wasn't. Mashed potatoes were nice and creamy but didn't really care for the taste of the gravy. The dinner also includes pie or ice cream. Highly suggest the boysenberry ice cream. Plenty of space inside and they have a bar area. There is also a to go spot you can walk up and order their chicken and pies to go.

Yelp
Make reservations, this place gets busy during the holidays! Nicely decorated for the Christmas season, our wait staff were busy but still attentive to our needs. The fried chicken was delicious, but if you are hungry order the the three piece meal as the chicken pieces are on the small side.

Yelp
We went for lunch, after getting in to Long Beach. Knowing that we had dinner plans with family tonight we opted for something light. I ordered off the kids menu and opted for the Chicken and Waffles. My mother got the Tri-Berry Boysenberry salad. Everything was delicious, the chicken came out crispy and hot, and the salad with all the berries. The biscuits were soft and warm, and the jam that came with them was so delicious!! Service was great our server greeted us letting us know he'd be right with us. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
It was freezing in this restaurant. No heater in the winter. Food is ok. Pot pie was the best thing on menu. Walk next door to get a hot chocolate to stay warm. The machine at the restaurant is usually broken or nobody wants to clean it. Service was blah.

Yelp
The food is average, a bit on the bland side, for us. The price is high for fried chicken meal. The chicken wing was good, but not extraordinary. Our server was very attentive (I would give her a 5 for service) but the 1 hour waiting just to get in when there were empty tables inside, and the food was slow to come out, did not help. There was also unpleasant smell inside the restaurant and the closer to the bathroom, the worse the smell. I would not go back to the place based on this overall experience.

Yelp
I was sooo looking forward to a delish meal. It has been at least 20 years since the last time i ate here and i remember it being soooo good. The chicken literally had no seasoning! Zero! It tasted like dry chicken with zero thought to putting any seasoning on it. Soo disappointed! Try chicken pot pie was all crust and no filling. 2 small pieces of chicken and a few potatoes and that's it. It was super salty too. The waffle was so dense. It was not light and fluffy. I shared this with my kids and unfortunately the tradition will not continue. It was aweful. :( the corn tasted like it came straight off t of a can... again zero seasonings. The cabbage also... no seasonings. It was mush and awful!

Yelp
The fried chicken here is still as great as it was as I remember it (last time here was probably 6 years ago). To me, it's one of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Only knocking a star because unlike before, you don't get as much sides now as before. The bread is still amazing. As well as the mashed potatoes. If you want fries it's an additional charge. Service is good. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the inside of the restaurant was very clean, welcoming and huge. This place can definitely feed a lot of people. Not sure when the next time my family will be back at Knotts, but when we do, we'll make sure to come back here. Just hopefully they don't take out any more sides.

Yelp
I recently visited Mrs Knott's Chicken twice. My family and I had Thanksgiving dinner and had a fabulous experience. Our server was amazing! The food at the Thanksgiving brunch buffet was Fabius! They had everything you could want from breakfast to Mexican to traditional Thanksgiving foods. I would do Thanksgiving here again without giving it a second thought. I visited again a couple weeks later and sat at the bar with my husband. Service was terrible! We basically had to beg to get a drink and the bar was not busy at all; 4 other people and two bartenders. I ordered a Bourbon and Coke. Was offered a few types of Bourbon and chose Marker's Mark. The bartender came back and said he didn't have it after just offering it to me. The food was okay. The boysenberry bbq wings were good but hard to eat with the wing and drumstick attached together. The kale salad had a basil vinaigrette which was the completely wrong flavor for the sweetness of the candied nuts, apple and squash in the salad. Overall, I wish the restaurant was more consistent with service and food.

Yelp
This place was really disappointing. I really like the theme park Knotts Berry Farms and heard rave reviews of their fried chicken. I will say that I have high standards coming from the South with the Fried chicken. It was not good. It was pretty dry and not enough seasoning. It is nice that it comes with a salad, sides, and a dessert so at least that is good. The Boysenberry Martini was ok. Do not order the roast chicken dinner. My friend ordered that and it was so dried out it was basically jerky. It also was super slow. The waitress was very nice but we were there for like 3 hours! It is very cute with the farm house vibes, which works with Knotts, but honestly I would not come back or recommend this to someone.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Just a bit of a. Wait which is normal. Been around for decades.
