This restaurant is adjacent to my grandmother‘s old home, a place I visited several times during my childhood. The transformation of the downtown area of Madaba is incredible including this restaurant which is highly recommended on Trip Advisor as a hot spot for tourists. If you are visiting Madaba, Jordan, Haret Jdoudna is a must visit. Authentic Middle East dishes are made with fresh ingredients, waitstaff are friendly, service is quick, they serve alcohol, and there’s even a souvenir store in the building to shop. Sadly I didn’t get a chance to take more photos but a traditional way to eat is to order several different small plates and a few main plates with Kefta, steak, chicken. It’s a beautiful blend of food and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Couple the delicious menu with a beautiful atmosphere of dining under trees, and the sweet smell of Hookahs smoke by native Jordanians at nearby tables. It’s quite an experience for those visiting the area for the first time.
The people in Jordan are very generous and kind so you’ll find most places will welcome you with open arms. Enjoy!
