Great southern Indian cuisine. The dishes were very tasty. All vegetarian food with exotic tastes of Indian. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

If you’re craving authentic South Indian fare with a legacy that spans nearly a century, MTR 1924 in Brickfields is a must-visit. The restaurant proudly carries its heritage forward from its roots in Bangalore, India, and you can taste that tradition in every bite. I had the Masala Thosai and it was simply excellent. Perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft, flavourful spiced potato filling inside. It was served with creamy coconut chutney and tangy sambar, both of which complemented the dish beautifully. My friend ordered the Plain Thosai and it was just as good , golden, thin, and crispy with a lovely crunch. What stood out were the freshly made chutneys, especially the green chutney with its vibrant, herbaceous flavor. The sambar was warm and comforting, packed with authentic South Indian spices. The service was fast and friendly, with staff who were attentive and welcoming. The space itself was clean, relaxed, and had the comforting aroma of roasted spices and filter coffee in the air. We also noticed the Michelin 2025 mention on the menu and after the meal, we can confidently say it’s well deserved. If you're in Brickfields and looking for a South Indian meal that truly delivers in taste and tradition, MTR 1924 is a fantastic choice. We’re already planning a return and next time, the filter coffee is on our list.

I was impressed with the food. The Rava Idli, Podi Idli, and Benne Masala were all delicious, but the idli stood out the most. It was soft, fluffy, and full of flavor. The filter coffee was equally enjoyable. It had aromatic fragrance and a smooth and creamy texture. This restaurant is definitely a must-visit if you are in KL!

Top shelf dosas. The best I have had in Kuala Lumpur.. Many great items to try with different items on the menu every day of the week. Most things are fried but nothing is too greasy. Overall, a great choice in Bricksfield off the main road. You get what you pay for - well worth a visit.

Dosa dosa dosa... So much variety and so yummy. Living away from home, I am always looking for the most comforting Dosa and found it in KL here in MTR 1924. Loved and enjoyed every bite. I was never a big fan of Medu Vada but my sister ordered a plate and it was glorious. Served hot but not oily and crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Loved it! We also had the chandrahara for dessert and it was heavenly. The crispy warm batter in thick malai. Not sure if I am doing the dish any justice through my description but definitely worth a try. Also, cannot stress enough how well they go with a good cup of Filter coffee! Got to have it lah... MTR was so low key amazing with its clean interiors and ambience. A place to keep coming whenever I am in KL.

MTR Brickfields: Dosa divine, sambar soulful — price a lil’ spicy. Worth it? My stomach says yes, wallet's still processing.

2025 - Used to be my favorite rava tose, but has been deteriorating over the past 3 years. Still tastes rich, but no longer crispy, and the airholes classic of a nicely spread tosai batter are gone. RM 18 for onion rava dosa. Food served fast, and with a smile, and takeaway packaging good.
