"The Chinese restaurant located in a two-story, historic home on Juniper Street in Midtown has apparently closed for good this time, according to What Now Atlanta. MuLan closed temporarily in 2014 in order to deal with an infestation of cockroaches. The 16-year-old restaurant shuttered abruptly last week. No explanation was given." - Beth McKibben

Incredible! I was visiting out of town & looking for an affordable dinner spot. I was so surprised by the large portions & quality of food! Great atmosphere, attentive staff. I was even happier to see my bill was so cheap!

Food and service are good as usual. It's been a long time coming but they finally got their liquor license.

Bottom line: Might recommend with a different server. Visits: 1 Chief complaint: Server was copiously absent, then added an 18% gratuity charge (for two people) without indicating he had done so. Is this restaurant policy? The food: Nice section of meats, both Chinese and Thai style. Food was presented beautifully. Drinks weren't available since they had allowed their liquor license to lapse. The atmosphere: A weird mixture between modern and traditional Asian. One might call it "thinly gilded." Comments: I had a good time here and the food was good. I was unfortunately turned off by the server. I might return, but I'd turn back around if I got the same server. I'd say that "It's okay" is a very good descriptor for my experience.

Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. There is free parking behind the place as well. Everything we ordered was delicious. The crab rangoon, chicken wings, Happy Family, and Ocean Special was what we ordered. The prices were also reasonable with great service. Will definitely visit again.

I ordered curry Salmon and the sauce was disgusting and tasted like dish soap. So I sent it back after one bite and ordered the Mongolian chicken. When I got the bill I noticed I was charged $16 for the Curry Salmon, which I had only taken one bite out of, if I would have known that I would have asked for a to go plate and gave it to someone less Fortunate. Long story short they never gave me a refund, saying it was nothing wrong with it. The manager didn't even have the decency to come and speak with me instead sending someone back and forth to relay messages.

Food is OK, but delivery is a disaster. I try to be a patient man, but 3 hours is extreme. Called three times to check on my order, and each time it was "out for delivery". When I asked what they would do to make it better, I was told "You can have a free meal next time." There will not be a next time. UPDATE ... FOOD NEVER CAME!! When I called the last time, I was told "We don't know where our driver is" and "you can't talk to the manager because he's b*tching at the employees right now." Because my order was through Yelp, MuLan told me they could not refund the order. I have to call Yelp. Incredibly unprofessional, unhelpful. DO NOT eat here until there's a significant change of management! UPDATE ... 4 HOURS after ordering and being told the order was canceled, the food showed up.

I really enjoy the food here for lunch. Nice atmosphere in an old house. Service is not terrible but not great. They have maybe 4 parking spaces in the back otherwise you have to pay in the next lot over. I've eaten here a few times as the quality of food is really good. Unfortunately we have been here twice and they were closed for lunch. We know they are closed on Mondays but you might want to call and make sure they are open if going for lunch. I mean they have the white gate up with chains and you can clearly see their hours of opening on the door...had to go to other "ok" Takorea restaurant. Sucks because we had to pay for parking and we chose this place...

Went there for lunch. I got the Panang curry and my friend got the Masaman. Both dishes had the same curry, of which there was little, it was runny and SUPER SUPER spicy (and not in a good way -- 10x spicy than any other Thai place I've been to.) We both ended up sending our dishes back because our mouths were on fire. The chicken in mine was boiled and very bland. Service wasn't bad.
