First of all, the sourdough dough is AMAZING probably some of the best i've had in the us and the cheese they use is QUALITY point reyes truffle and you can definitely taste it. I do wish there was more topping for the amount you're paying but overall amazing experience, SUPER SWEET OWNERS who care so much about what they do and it shows! Please come support this local hidden gem :)

This place is amazing! Their sourdough crust is honestly so good, it's light, crunchy, and chewy. I got the Taming of the Chew and it was packed with flavor. The pepperoni and cheese were super rich and tasty. You can just tell they use really good ingredients. And what makes it even cooler is that the owners, Mark and Kira, were teachers who left their jobs to follow their dream. Highly recommend checking this place out, you won't be disappointed!

Google
What a wonderful place! . The owners are beautiful people with a story worth listening to. Very humble beginnings, but sourdough pizza with it's weight in gold! If you haven't tried this place, stop everything and go now!! Best "bard" ever! Side note: The birth of this pizzeria should be a sitcom! 😊

Saw this place as one of Yelps’ 100 best eats in California. I’ve been to TP Tea in the same plaza so many times, but never tried this place. I didn’t realize there was no space to really eat at the restaurant, but I was ordering take-out anyway. The couple seems very nice. Been only making pizzas for 2 years since the pandemic and were teachers before. We got a Henry the “8” pizza. I thought it was above average. Wifey liked it as she normally doesn’t like pepperoni because it’s too salty, but this place did it just right. We also ordered a Cheezy bread and it was a pleasant surprise - crunchy and chewy. The texture and the taste were great. Interesting that these were sourdough. I don’t think the sourdough really affected my taste though. Oh yeah, I would come back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Much To Do About Pizza in Pleasanton is hands-down the BEST pizza I’ve ever had! Every bite is absolutely delicious – perfectly balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and crust that’s baked to perfection. What makes it even more special is that the dough is fermented sourdough, which makes it not only taste incredible but also feel amazing on your tummy. You don’t get that heavy, bloated feeling you usually do with pizza – it’s just the best thing you can eat! On top of that, their customer service is outstanding. The staff is warm, welcoming, and genuinely cares about making sure every customer has a great experience. It’s rare to find a place that not only makes incredible food but also makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. If you’re looking for pizza that truly stands out – this is the place. Honestly, I’d say it’s the best pizza in the world. Pleasanton is lucky to have this gem!

Google
We had a fantastic experience at this pizza spot. The sourdough crust was absolutely perfect--light, fluffy, and with that great tang you only get from a well-fermented dough. You can really tell they care about quality--every ingredient tasted super fresh. We were especially impressed by the variety of vegetarian options on the menu. We tried the O'Thello's O'bsession, which was amazing. We look forward to trying the other options as well. On top of all that, the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great pizza and to support local owners!

Google
Amazing hand made pizza on the spot. Takes a bit for the pizza but worth the wait. Highly produce and perfectly performed. The spot to visit if you are trying to support the mom and pop shops but most importantly you are treating yourself with an amazing product. The hustle doesn't stop but the service is top notch from ordering to the service after. Definitely check out their special; different and brings a different selection of taste to your cravings. Bring yourself a friend or a family for a fantastic meal.

Google
I had Much Ado About Pizza Recently at an event for the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and let me just say that this pizza is a Shakespearian work of art. perfectly crafted and delicious. You can taste the freshness and the heart and soul that went into crafting this treat. I had never heard of this family owned company and after trying their unique sourdough breaded pizza, i must say, i'm a fan! Look into Kira's story and see all the accolades and amazing things her and her family are doing! This is a must try pizza!

Yelp
We came here 2 times in one week! This place is a hidden gem. In short: the sour dough crust is so good. It's fluffy with a slight chew. So far we've tried the montague and Portia's pesto. Both are good and well balanced. The owners are super nice and friendly. This is a to-go only place. There isn't a place to sit and eat your hot pizza.
google avatar

Penny Z.

Yelp
Their pizza is genuinely amazing ...like, truly some of the best we've had. You can tell it's a real mom-and-pop operation with so much love put into the food. BUT... the biggest issue is that the shop is constantly closed. Since it's only the two owners and no extra staff, whenever they travel for pizza competitions the entire restaurant shuts down. We've tried multiple times to order and support a local business we love, but more often than not, we show up or check online and they're closed again. It's super disappointing, and unfortunately we won't be spending more time guessing whether they're in town or not. Amazing food... just not reliable enough to count on.

Yelp
It was alright. I was really excited to try this place because of all the hype. I haven't done a yelp review in a long time but wanted to honestly review this place that is in yelp's "top 100 places" to eat. Basically just alright. Tastes like any pizza you could get anywhere. I think Mountain Mike's is better. I was disappointed they couldn't do half white sauce half red sauce but whatever. The pizza itself was soggy. The redeeming quality was the chicken was really good and not chewy or anything. 3.5*s. Just OK. Wouldn't eat it again.

Yelp
For weekends, best to call in your orders by 4:30pm! The store stops online order platform when it's here busy. Be patient, an older couple runs the store from making the pizza to greeting guests, so be patient. A more to go pizza place since there's not much sitting area. Super clean interior! Called in around weekend 4:30pm and the pickup time was for 6:30pm. Order the Act 5 which is a combo pizza ($33). Sourdough crust is super delicious. Great chew, super airy dough, and sourness. Fresh ingredients for each bite. The box is also a pizza bib which is a unique design. Definitely try out this sourdough pizza!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Such a unique and amazing pizza shop in Pleasanton. The owners are the best and they make you feel right at home. The pizzas are fantastic, full of flavor, and definitely separate themselves from the rest of the competition. The inside of the store could keep you entertained for a long time!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place. A very small shop with a couple of table for dine in if you want. I got 3 pizzas to go. The pizzas are cooked to order so I did have to wait a little bit. I tried 2 of the 3 pizzas and both were delicious. Loved the crust. If in the area I would definitely try them again.

Yelp
Much Ado About Pizza only does takeout from my experience. Establishment itself is clean, small, and has a couple seats. You can either order through their website or on the phone. Be advised the wait time for pizzas can be lengthy during dinner hours, but that shouldn't stop you from getting pizza here, cause boy is it worth the wait. I've had many other pizzas here and they all taste great, however... I think I'm now a rectangle pizza type guy because of this place. P.s. the girlfriend loves their pizza too, she craves it every now and then, so it makes deciding what to eat for dinner easy lol
google avatar

Sara A.

Yelp
Called in and the person on the phone was very friendly and let us know the wait time would be about an hour. We appreciated that as we don't mind waiting but it's good to know a time in case we didn't want to wait. We got cheesy bread and pepperoni pizza. The cheesy bread was crunchy but soft and gooey and the hot honey went great with it and on the pizza. The pizza was a bit small and had way too much pepperoni for my boyfriend I love all the pepperoni but was so flavorful. As someone who can't have too much red sauce I didn't mind it being super sauce heavy like every other pizza. Great flavor and texture. We were greeted when we walked in and provided an update on our order. We will deff be back

Yelp
My favorite little pizza spot in the Tri-valley! (Not a dine-in restaurant, call your order in and take out) I discovered them at a Sips and Slice event that featured wine pairings with some of their specialty pizzas. I was impressed by the quality and loved that they are family owned by very nice people. So since then, I've been spreading the word far and wide to friends and family about them yet somehow dropped the ball on my review. While I patiently wait for the vegan cheese to be brought to the menu, I absolutely love all of the vegetarian options at Much Ado. Kira is a vegetarian so she knows how to make the veggies shine! The Tempest and The Quatrain being my favorites. Don't sleep on the bard bread or the epic dips :)
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
Much Ado is one of our favorite Shakespeare plays, and this pizzeria may be partnering with our favorite theatre company, so it's time to review. The website is humorous, and the pizza names are cute. We ordered an original Much Ado (cheese pizza) and a Quatrain, hold the onions. They were very friendly, and the pies were ready quickly. The small space is loaded with posters and things that make you want to look around for a while. We brought the pies home, and the box interiors were adorable, see the pictures. The pizzas were good and tasty, but not spectacular. Still, we'll continue to support this small family owned business.

Yelp
My usual is 1-2 Pieces of pizza. Decided to write review, while eating my pesto/chicken pizza slice, but couldn't stop eating until I'd devoured 1/2 of the pizza, all by myself . It's truly an outstanding award winning pizza. As a longtime sourdough cook, myself, I'm so impressed with this Sourdough crust. Real Sourdough is good for the microbium in your gut. I put honey on the crust ends for desssert! This is the "real deal"Pizza! Welcoming Family run. Can hardly wait to go back and try other flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
What a hidden gem. I've been going to the boba shop across from them for almost a year now and only gotten to try this pizza shop only now. The pizza is amazing! Overloaded with toppings and the crust is so good and crispy!
google avatar

Thao L.

Yelp
Customer service was 10/10; very nice and welcoming. The pizza itself was amazing. The sourdough crust to the sauce and over all toppings I chose was out of this world. I chose to build my own pizza and did a white truffle sauce and got the hot honey as well to drizzle on top and it was one of the best pizzas I've had in awhile.
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza in tri-valley! Just make sure to order ahead of time especially around dinner time!

Yelp
I don't know why I feel compelled to write a review of MAAP. The five-star reviews are completely deserved (I have no idea what planet the one-star reviewer came from but some people can't be helped). For the record, I don't know Mark and Kira beyond meeting them and speaking with them when I go there. I have no vested interest in promoting them. I don't write Yelp reviews, actually. And yet, here we are. These are the things I thought people should know about this place (from a stereotypically snooty New Yorker who would murder someone for a thin-crust NYC slice and struggles with almost all California pizza): I didn't wanna like this pizza. It has a thicker, airier crust. But (and I mean this) this is award-winning pizza. It's actually won prestigious awards and for good reason. They sometimes close down to go to prestigious pizza competitions around the world. It's honestly outstanding. The sourdough crust isn't entirely unique for the west coast but not common. But the reason it's particularly good here is that they think about how they combine it with their ingredients. It's a holistic approach. They're not throwing these things together. Speaking of the ingredients: They're absolutely top-shelf. It's not canned this and that. They'll talk to you about how they experiment with different cheeses. They're very serious about this stuff (but incredibly friendly). Given how incredibly careful they are about the quality of what they make, these pizzas are pricier. I totally understand if anyone has limits on what they'll pay. But just don't get angry about it. They're not charging these prices to rip you off. It takes much more to make these. There's this thing called value. It's pricier because they're promising you something better. And they absolutely keep that promise. Know that going in. Your decision. The pizzas also take more time to make. I call mine in on a Saturday night and it can be 45 minutes to an hour to pick up (I'm sure it's their busiest time so it's not the average). Is that because they feel like messing with me? No. Kira makes all the pizzas. That's it (at least for now). So you're gonna have to wait. Call it in. It'll be ready when they say it is or you might wait five minutes. If that type of thing upsets you, maybe go off the grid. Here's the bottom line: Most pizza is largely the same. This isn't. These two are serious pizza makers. In Pleasanton, CA. It's a modest operation in a small store in an ordinary strip mall. You wouldn't think they'd make pizza like this. But here we are. They make a certain style of pizza and they're very good at it. I personally feel pretty lucky that they're here and not in Walnut Creek or something, where I just couldn't go very often. They're also just very nice people, from what I can tell. They just seem to love making pizza. Who am I to question that?

Yelp
Wow!! What an amazing find and recommendation from Yelp's top 100 places to try in the U.S.! Sourdough pizza dough is where it's at! We tried the Montague and the Groundling and we're hooked! We enjoyed how tasty, crunchy and chewy the sourdough crust was and the amount of toppings is generous, which we love. We can't wait to go back! We ordered online and it took about 40 min, well worth the wait. Staff are friendly and parking is free which makes pick up a breeze - thankfully too because this spot is take out only. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Service: wonderful. Very happy and friendly and smiley lady wearing a funny hat at the register. Felt good to order from her. Food: delicious pizza. It has the best vegetarian menu for pizza ive ever seen. Got the round groundling. Pesto is flavorful. The crust is a nice and chewy sourdough. Would come back again!

Yelp
I wanted to hit up this place for the longest time and today, a lazy Tuesday afternoon I decided to visit. Kinda hidden in Mission plaza in Pleasanton the sign is not too large and the joint is real small as in no dine-in or outside seating either. Matter of fact the whole plaza has pretty much same size signage. I've seen the place in an article I read and a video I saw online. The theme is Shakespeare and the pizza comes in only one size ( about 8 slices) ready in about 10 minutes if it's not busy like when I was there. I noticed no beverage machine. They do have wi fi with a password posted. Lots of Vegetarian and vegan options. I wish they had photos of the pizzas but the menu just had descriptions only. I took photos so people can get the feel of the place. It is run by a husband and wife duo team, very hospitable. The price of the pies are not cheap $36 I paid for one called the Huntsmen- basically an all meat that is not on the menu. They gave me a small hot honey packet as a sample haven't tried it yet. Parking is plentiful but this is off a main busy street. Next door businesses include an Indian restaurant named Tabla and a small nail salon. As for the pizza, I like it. The ingredients and dough use are top quality and they topped the pizza with plenty of meat and pepperoni cups and , not too oily. The pieces needed careful removal from. The whole pizza as the cheese was spreading and falling apart at first slice then the rest turned out easy to remove .This is not a spot for like ordering for a kids party but for more like sharing a pizza between 2-3 people in my opinion. Napkins , plates and pepper flakes and Parmesan are given upon request. I also took a couple of pics of the menu of two pages. Service is very friendly. The almost 5 Star rating s on this review platform is legit. Uniquely ,they have the 3 mini arcade games on a table which I have never seen in a pizza place before which was super cool. They also take credit cards. They have many awards, recognitions and magazine , newspaper articles that show their pizzas on display throughout the parlor.

Yelp
PHENOMENAL pizza! Absolutely delicious crust! Everything about this place is great. Being family owned, you can absolutely taste the love added in. You can tell they're using quality ingredients The sourdough crust - after eating this pizza you feel good. Reminiscent of how you feel after eating pizza in Italy.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Wow! What more can we say than what most Yelpers already said! So grateful to finally find another delicious pizza joint close to home that check off all the boxes!!!!! Wohooo!
google avatar

Yelp
The best pizza, you'll have, incredible and family fun. Try them all. While you wait you can play space invaders.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
This is hands down the best pizza you can get in the Tri-valley area. And the owners are just a fantastic couple all around. Regardless if and when we go here they always wear a smile and never disappoint. Unfortunately when I decided to take the picture half the pizza was already gone :-) I guess it speaks to the quality and appreciation of my family. Word of advice: order your pizza early, as they do get busy and the pizza wait can get long.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to having the pizza from Much Ado. Huge fan of pretty much anything sourdough. Until I had this pizza. So gross. The sourdough crust tasted spoiled. The sauce was lacking in flavor. The Italian sausage was overly salty and my guess was that they were about to run out of sausage because there was hardly any on the pizza. I should have known when I first walked in that things were going to go south. After giving them my name for the order their response was just 5 more minutes. That 5 minutes turned into 1/2 hour. If I wasn't feeding other people I would have asked for a refund and walked. It was very frustrating, Kira and Mark reminded me of what it was like to work with people who had never worked in the food industry and were about to have a meltdown. On top of that they complained to ME about how a large order earlier is what put them behind. So unprofessional. I'm usually up for giving an establishment another try after a bad experience but with this many strikes against the place I'm going to take a hard pass.

Yelp
Went back and ordered two pizzas online for a little party with friends. They were ready within a couple minutes of my arrival. Got them to the party and they were still nice and hot! Everybody loved, loved, loved the pizzas. This is not your ordinary pizza! Plus the people that work there are really nice.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
It's been about four years since I last visited Much Ado About Pizza, and recently, my friend wanted to try it for the first time. I placed a mobile order through their website, which said the wait time would be 25 minutes. When I walked in to pick up my order, the staff greeted me warmly--everyone was so friendly! Plus, my pizza had just come out of the oven. Not only were they timely, but our Fowl-Staff pizza was delicious. Both my friend and I prefer white garlic sauce over the traditional red, and this pizza had the perfect balance of garlic flavor. The mushrooms and onions were generously layered, though I do wish there had been a little more chicken. I'm definitely looking forward to coming here more often for my pizza fix!

Yelp
Ordered a custom pizza with the following toppings: * Olives * Sausage * Mushrooms * Kale * Tomatoes * Yellow/Red/Orange peppers Cheese was was fresh and the flavors were excellent. The crust has a very nice flavor and consistency and none of the ingredients nailed me with sodium like at some pizza makers. The edge of the crust is particularly good as it is almost fluffy with some air pockets. Why the single star beat down for a pizza that was arguably very well made with high quality ingredients? Simple - during the custom ordering process we asked for 1/2 the pizza to have olives. The whole order was just us picking the ingredients so that does not seem hard to do and obviously Round Table and others do that all the time. We were told no 50/50 splitting of toppings. Kinda of a fail for such a good pizza. I don't know how to cook but I know enuf to just put olives on one half of a pizza!

Pallavi S.

Yelp
Excellent service. Couple are always welcoming and happy to help in anyway! Pizza is to die for. Love the sourdough crust
google avatar

Yelp
This pizza place intrigued me as I walked aside my dog (whose nose would make him stray) the moment that they opened in the mall aside the residence I stayed. The husband-wife team clearly love the Bard, and equaled only by their love for pies (Titania's Bounty has my high regard, was Benedick a choice or do I lie?). Proximity and quality were great, but sadly since we've moved an hour away. As Yelp reminded me this late, my testament I leave to you today.
google avatar

Audrey S.

Yelp
Great local pizzeria. They do a single size of pizza, which is about 14 inches and serves 2-3 people. I came with one other person and getting the stuffed bread and one pizza was just about perfect. They have some limited seating inside but I highly recommend chatting with the owners! They are super sweet. Their son drew the super cute logo as well. Amazing local spot.
google avatar

Jasmine F.

Yelp
Fantastic, fresh pizza! Owners are super friendly and very knowledgeable about pizza/sourdough crust which they make fresh. We called our order in early and glad we did because once they are out of dough, they don't make any more pizza for the day so you know it's fresh! We ordered the Portia's Pesto - it was very fresh and light tasting. We did half with chicken and bacon and the other half vegetarian style. Mark on the phone was super accommodating to making those requests to a speciality pizza. Also ordered 3 dipping sauces: signature sauce (complexity I wasn't expecting in a basic tomato pizza sauce - it's not basic!), hot honey (wish it was spicier), and white garlic (very good!!). Look forward to ordering a pizza in the future with their signature sauce because it was excellent! If you're not a crust person (I'm not) - you will eat all of this crust! It's so fluffy on the inside with the perfect crunchy exterior. Mainly a take out place, few chairs inside to wait for your order but no in house dining set up. Decorated with all things Shakespeare. Next time need to try their famous Bard Bread!

Yelp
Okay, so I'm a "pizza snob" I LOVE pizza. Heard about this place from word of mouth so I thought we'd give it a try. We ordered a pizza for take out on-line, totally user friendly website, got there a few minutes early and to my surprise, there were a couple of table top classic video games to play for free. The owners were working behind the counter and were super friendly. Once we got home the pizza did not dissapoint! Great sauce, the dough was delicious, will definitely go back again. Love love supporting small local businesses.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Much ado about pizza. The clever Shakesperean menu was so inviting as a lover of poetry... Food: Half cheese/ Half Montague We ordered half cheese/ half Montague. The cheese pizza was burned and overcooked. The Montague, house made signature tomato sauce, truffle cheese, prov-nello blend, pepperoni, italian sausage, mushrooms and olives. This was also very dry and burned. The pepperoni was very burned and the olives had a strange, rotten smell. The tomato sauce was minimal. The flavors lacking... Service: Very friendly. But not accomadating... Ambiance: Simple. Nothing special. I will not go back to "Much ado about pizza". The presentation of the pizza disappointed me. It was burned everything. And that is unacceptable. The pizza lacked flavor and the tomato sauce on the pizza is so stingy... Still... searching for my go to pizza place in the food desert known as the tri valley.

Yelp
Took Montague home for dinner. It was flavorful and tasty. And I don't even have to mention how good the dough was. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I came across this small pizza shop on my endless search for the best pizza in the area. They have a cute theme with Shakespeare influencing all their menu items. I ordered for pickup and was greeted warmly by the owners when I arrived. I ordered a half cheese, half pepperoni, sausage, olive, and mushroom. I could not put my finger on it, but something was just not right with the pizza. It looked slightly overcooked with a bit too much burn on the cheese. I could not overcome the smell. It reeked of rancid vinegar. I could not even smell how good a pizza should smell. I think the olives had gone rancid. The cheese pizza was good. Nice chew on the sourdough crust. I could not stomach the smell of the combo side.

Yelp
If you like a pizza with a good chewy dough, this place does just that! We found this pizza joint from the Tri-Valley Restaurant Week offers and was curious what sour dough pizzas would be like. We ordered two pizzas and some cheesy bread to go. This place is a mom and pop shop that is best for takeout. They only have one oven so it would be best to call and order ahead unless you want to wait up to an hour for your pizzas. Overall, the pizzas were good and I would come back again. The cheesy bread is essentially the pizza dough with some cheese and vinegar based dipping sauce. If you are already ordering pizza, I would not order this as the pizzas are much better.

Frances L.

Yelp
Delicious pizzas! I'm so happy I finally got to try this place. I placed an order by phone so I could customize one of their specialty pizzas. My order was ready in 15-20 minutes. We ordered the Montague and Pesto with chicken. The pizzas are thin with a puffy crust. They have plenty of delicious toppings and the best tasting crust! The pizzas toasted up perfectly the next day as well. So good and we'll definitely order again!
google avatar

Soin A.

Yelp
The food was great and all the ingredients are very fresh. The wait time was a bit longer than I expected but it was dinner time so it's ok. There are not many seats inside the store and lots of people seem to just to-go the pizza. We ordered Henry the 8th pizza (10/10) And the Capulet pizza(10/10). Both of them were so good. Also got the white garlic sauce but sure about the sauce, tho. Definitely come back!

Yelp
Finally gave them a try and it was soooooo good! Plus the owners are really nice! We have a new FAVORITE pizza place now.

Yelp
Inside of the restaurant. Pizza: Montague Fun fact: the lid of the box is interactive so you can take a picture like a cut out! Friendly staff! Super informative about restaurant concept and food! Pizza is good! Perfect ratios for everything! Would go back! :)

Yelp
I've spent the better part of the past year or two kinda pizza-ed out because my SO's favorite food is pizza. (Don't get me wrong; pizza is awesome and the world is my pizza, but I do like variety and pepperoni unfortunately isn't my favorite, haha.) But! I started doing bimonthly dinners with a friend recently and we sometimes end up at TP Tea (boba spot!) for drinks afterward. On one such occasion, we were walking around the plaza and stopped by here to peer through the window because of the cute Shakespeare-eating-a-pizza logo. Upon our first discovery of it, it was already closed for the day, but we met the husband who runs this place with his wife and he told us about how they got started and encouraged us to come back again sometime to try it out. I'm super glad we did! The decor is super cute and everything is Shakespeare-themed, from the trivia quiz to the books on the bookshelf + posters, the Elizabethan hats they wear...even the names on the menu! (For instance, "Taming of the Chew," "Romeo & Juliet" = a house divided, aka a split/half-and-half pizza if you can't agree on what you want on a single pizza.) We decided to split an "As You Like It" (custom pizza) with mushrooms, sausage, bell pepper, basil, and their signature sauce. They make a sourdough crust that is absolutely lovely. (This is some of the best pizza I've ever had. I've been trying to think of what other place I've ever had better/comparable pizza-that-I-love and the only place I can come up with is L'incontro. However, that pizzeria was located in Scotland and has also unfortunately closed down permanently, so it's a blessing that this is infinitely closer and easier for me to get to.) This is a pretty new business -- it's only been around for a little over a year-ish, and was borne out of one of the owner's outlets during the pandemic since I think she was an English/Theater teacher teaching on Zoom through the pandemic. (That must have been extra rough + that also explains the perfection that is the theme of this restaurant and all the punny names!) I love that out of the frustrations of the pandemic and the rise of sourdough parents everywhere, they've managed to create such an awesome eatery. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to praise a delicious pizza. One pizzeria of great dignity, In fair Pleasanton where we lay our scene. I wish I could write my entire review in iambic pentameter because that's what this place deserves! But I simply do not have that type of talent. I recently visited for the first time and had the Montague, a pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni, Italian sausage, and a point Reyes truffle cheese. It was delicious, the sourdough was so good. They said this was originally a seasonal pizza but it was so popular they're making it a permanent menu addition. We also had the bard cheesy bread with white garlic sauce which is the same sourdough as for the crust with cheese, garlic, and a dipping sauce. The other sauce options were fig balsamic, tomato, and pesto which all sound amazing. Their Shakespeare themed decor and menu are so fun! The employees were wearing Elizabethan hats and the pizzas are all named after the plays. They have limited seating because they mostly do take out but it's so cute inside and they also have a bunch of Shakespeare books to read while you wait. I would recommend ordering ahead because the pizzas take about 25 minutes to make. (They said they have plans to get another pizza oven soon so hopefully that will be sped up). There's a lot of parking in the lot and there's boba across the way. One of the owners was there when we came in and he was really nice and friendly. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Had been wanting to try Much Ado About Pizza for ages and finally had the chance! We ordered the cheese bread and three pizzas: Taming of the Chew (pepperoni), Montague (pepperoni, sausage, mushroom), and Othello's Obsession, one of the vegetarian selections. As others have noted, the sourdough crust has AMAZING FLAVOR and TEXTURE; and the sauce is flavored just perfectly :-) Also deserving of praise is the yummy fig-balsamic dressing that accompanied the side salad. This small business is a labor of love for its owners, Kira and Mark. They had a creative vision and turned it into a reality that benefits all of us pizza lovers in the area. After many years of allegiance to another local pizza establishment, we are turning the page and will make Much Ado About Pizza our go-to pizzeria from now on!

Yelp
Piping hot pizza rave! It's taken me too long to try this amazing pizza and I can't wait to try them all now. Had the 14" round Fowl-Staff and it was delicious. The sourdough crust is great. Loved chatting it up with the owners, Kira and Marc and hearing their success story of starting their small business from the ground up to the much loved establishment it is now. I look forward to being a regular patron!

Yelp
We had the cheese with basil and the combo. Great pizza, cute little spot, and nice folks. It's takeout, but service is good.

Yelp
Sourdough pizza.. in a Shakespearean-themed restaurant? This is one unique local business! They only sell pizzas to go (a bit of a shame as the restaurant interior is so creatively decorated that it would make for a nice atmosphere to eat in), and there can be a bit of wait, so I definitely recommend ordering ahead. The Montague (Romeo and Juliet) came with tomato sauce, truffle cheese, mozzarella, provolone, pepperoni, Italian sausage, and mushroom. For me, a big draw of this pizza was the truffle cheese, but there was hardly any truffle aroma, as the meats took center stage. Titania's Bounty (A Midsummer Night's Dream) came with tomato sauce, white garlic sauce, an Italian cheese blend, summer squash, black olives, red onion, and green bell peppers. Uniquely, it was then topped off with a bunch of raw vegetables including arugula, baby bell peppers, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and green onion, which made the toppings explode visually! Each pizza came with 8 slices and was good for 2-3 people, but weren't cheap at about $30 each. The most unique part was the chewy, naturally-leavened sourdough crust--something definitely worth trying!
