This place was absolutely amazing! We came here from out of town with my sister for her birthday. Staff were so nice and very helpful. Food was very delicious! We are very impressed and would be more than willing to travel just to come here again. Thank you again for an amazing experience. Atmosphere, music, food, drinks... What more could you ask for?!

Honestly, if you want a spot for drinks and some pictures for a quick spot this is the place. It’s clear that the care and attention is in the presentation and the celebration atmosphere - which is great! But that means the food doesn’t get a lot do the love. I don’t remember what we ordered for food. It was pretty forgettable. I remember that it took a strangely long time to get our drinks and appetizers (chips and salsa). The margarita flight was well worth the purchase but I wish I had just gone there for drinks and had dinner somewhere else. I think they’re learning and finding their stride and I plan to go back in another month or two and see how they’re doing 🙂

went here because of the atmosphere that was promised in photos. The vibe is definitely party, with bottle service type signs and lights. But when it comes to service, absolutely awful. We asked multiple times for more water and chips, and never received anything. We waited for over an hour for our food and had to inquire where it was before finally receiving it. My tacos came out soggy, and were lukewarm; it feels like they had been sitting out for a while. The friend I came with had their tacos made wrong and with how long we waited for everything, it wasn’t worth asking them to correct it. There are better restaurants in the area, and while the atmosphere is fun, the service leaves something to be desired. Go elsewhere.

We had dinner at Mucho Gusto Barra + Cocina a couple weeks after it opened. It is a vibrant Mexican restaurant inspired by the colors and charm of San Miguel de Allende. Authentic Mexican dishes, tequila and mezcal cocktails and an energetic ambience make for a fun spot to catch up with friends, get a bite to eat or celebrate an occasion. Things to know about Mucho Gusto: 1) Colorful wall art and decor everywhere! 2) 2 patios. Enclosed patio through restaurant is warm and welcoming. 3) Listen to your server. Ask for Candido. He knows what he is talking about. 4) Delicious food and drinks. 5) Instagrammable shots throughout the restaurant. 6) Music is high energy. If you prefer a quieter space, choose the outdoor patios. We recommend: 🐙Pulpo Enamorado 🍤Coctel de Camarones y Pulpo 🦞Mariscos y Langostinos 🦐Camarones Enchipotlados 🍰Tres Leches Cake 🍮Crepas con Cajeta 📍2700 N Milwaukee Avenue, Logan Square

This review isn’t meant to be disrespectful, but intended to help management make this place better because I truly feel it has potential. Walking inside was my favorite part of this place as it is very well decorated and lively. They served us chips and salsa as an appetizer, however the chips were very old and stale. We told the waitress about the chips in which she replied that’s the only ones they had. We started by ordering a mango margarita and a Cantarito. Both drinks tasted terrible, beyond watered down and just had no flavor whatsoever simply tasted like watered and alcohol. We ended up returning the cantarito because we felt bad returning both drinks. We started off with the mixed sopes which tasted decent, nothing special. The chorizo sope was the best one out of the 4. I ordered the carne asada, medium. When the entree came, the carne asada was burnt to the 10000th degree. Tasted very dry. It was accompanied with plantains , cheese , guac and beans which were very dry and flavorless. The second entree we ordered were the green enchiladas which actually tasted pretty good but the beans it came with and rice were mediocre. We waited 37 minutes before our food was served, in addition to waiting 20min before even being greeted by our waitress. We heard several people around us complaining about the food and service. When I asked for the check, the waitress acknowledged me and didn’t come back, as I had to go find her after almost half hour. Overall the environment was pretty nice and very aesthetic. In my opinion I give it a 1.5/5. Would I go back? Possibly but in about 6 months and hopefully things are better.

We had a reservation but I feel like that does not matter. Once we got sat it took awhile to get service which was understandable because it was opening night and busy. Once we got service and ordered our drinks and appetizers it was a great atmosphere to enjoy but it took practically an hour to get our drinks and app. We didn’t get everything we ordered because they didn’t put it in correctly so we ended up waiting another 15 min for the other app. We did not get our food till 10:50pm, which was not that good. Tortillas were hard, rice was dry, and the chicken was too burnt. My partner had originally ordered the Salmon Tropical dinner but they ran out so he had to order the chicken that came out burnt. The margaritas were way watered down, did not taste any alcohol really. I was very disappointed in this experience for the prices that they charge. I don’t think I will be coming back and if I do it won’t be for awhile until they get more organized. Food and drinks did not come out at the same time like they should. I felt like we were basically stuck in a corner and forgot about. The gentleman refilling our water gave us better service overall.

The moment you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff, a beautiful background of colorful flowers and happy Latin music. Our server was Nayeli. She was sweet, made us laugh and took great care of us. The food was super tasty. The chips and salsa are addicting. I loved this place and will definitely go back to try another of their dishes.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we would love this place. The decor is absolutely stunning — every detail is beautifully curated, giving the whole space a luxe, yet warm and welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause just to take it all in. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the staff. Not only were they incredibly attentive, but they genuinely went above and beyond. We were celebrating a friend’s upcoming wedding, and without us even asking, Nayeli surprised us with a special celebration moment — complete with music, sparklers, a personalized dessert, and the kind of energy that made the whole room cheer. It was thoughtful, personal, and completely unexpected!! The food was delicious. Pair that with the fun, upbeat music and lively environment, and it was honestly the perfect night out. Whether you’re going for a casual dinner or celebrating something special, this place knows how to make it memorable. Highly recommend — and we’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
Great new place in Logan square! Absolutely loved the decor and perfect if you're into taking cute pics with your friends! The food was very tasty, came out nice and hot and the portions were perfect. I had the shrimp and al pastor tacos and my husband had the shrimp fajitas...delicious! But honestly, the highlight of our meal was the grilled octopus appetizer...soooo good and just the right amount of sauce! The service was top notch! Araceli was our server and she was just the sweetest girl! She checked on us frequently and we had the nicest conversation with her... just made the whole experience even better from start to finish. we live just a few blocks away so we will be back soon!

Yelp
Interesting experience. We walked in and asked what the wait time was, and if it was possible to book for a later time. they didn't answer and then continued to sit us?? Which was fine but also we were trying to book for a later time. The place was pretty and some people were there. Chill vibes. My friend mentioned we were there for happy hour. We proceeded to get seated at a table and got served chips and salsa. Chips. were a bit stale but salsa was fine. Water was served. The waiter came with an attached friend. She mentioned that happy hour was only at the bar. She also mentioned a Taco Tuesday special. Unlimited tacos, 3 margarita in a flight version. We asked the water for time My friend asked if we could move to the bar and do happy hour and eat tacos. They said happy hour was strictly at the bar. So we stayed at our table. One friend had previously ate, one friend wanted taco Tuesday, I wanted a dinner plate. Unfortunately, taco Tuesday had to be served to the whole table. We ended up leaving. They never fully disclosed this upon entering, which resulted in missing happy hour at a different locations.

Yelp
I probably would've waited longer to come here, but our friends suggested it. Nothing said or pictured about the restaurant talked about it's food, just annoying accounts of the vibe and experience. Fortunately, this was overall a more positive experience than I was expecting, but not without a couple of hiccups. When we walked up, we saw several open tables on the patio and were excited. Because it was insanely loud inside and we didn't have to go to our plan B. When my friend went to the host, we were told it was reservations only that night otherwise it would be an hour wait. Odd, considering the sign on the door said walk-ins welcome. So we stood just outside the door, opened OpenTable, booked a table and were seated immediately. Fortunately, the rest of the night improved. Somehow we were given bottomless chips and salsa, which was nice, but made it hard not to ruin our dinner. The chips were good, but the salsa was pretty mid and lacked any heat. The ceviche was good, not the biggest portion, but a little sweeter on the front with a little spice on the finish. For our mains we got the Camaronea Nayarit, Cochinita Pibil, Chile Relleni, and Enchiladas Mole. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I would've preferred the tails be removed from the shrimp and a little more heat, but overall it was tasty. Service was also very attentive. I drink a lot of water and the woman covering the water was on it. For drinks, our friends ordered mojitos, husband a spicy margarita, and me a non-alcoholic tamarind margarita. Husband was impressed by the spiciness of his drink, which is a huge compliment. My drink got mixed up and I ended up with an alcoholic strawberry margarita, which was promptly corrected. It would be nice to see more NA options featured. I didn't even catch the part on the menu where it noted cocktails could be made NA, it was very discreet. I would also be nice to offer some NA beer options like Corona. Overall they did a lot to update the interior to be a place people want to Instagram. I think all of us photo bombed someone trying to use the bathroom. I'm hoping they tone down things like the shot parade with their blaring whistles and the rotating lights that made it feel club like. The food is good, but that was a turnoff for me.

Yelp
Omg from the atmosphere to the food to the hospitality.....it was an experience!!!! We walked in and felt like we were in another world with the lights, flowers and overall decorations. The have an outside patio in the front and back but it was too darn hot last night for that! They had numerous picture spots and the bar was jumping! The food was good and quick. I had the 3 tacos and rice AND THE MARGARITA!!! If you order 3 tacos you get rice and beans at no additional charge. The sink was HUGE and DELICIOUS, not watered down like some places. The pricing was typical. Hospitality was on point!!! From the time we walked into the hostess who was really funny and inviting our server who was really nice and the gussets who made sure we were refilled and tables were clear. We even got a visit from one of the owners asking how everything was. They made the experience gray and I will be back!

Yelp
Extremely extremely extremely loud. Can't say much else. Menu pics posted. The decor is very pretty but it is very Instagram forward.

Yelp
I made a reservation via Open Table for their grand opening but sadly cancelled as their menu still isn't available on their website or anywhere else. I called to ask if they were going to post their menu and when they answered I literally couldn't hear the person that answered at all. It was insanely loud. I asked if their menu is available to view online and all he answered was "yes" (I already knew it wasn't available online yet). No help with where to go, or at least let me know it'll be visible soon. Needless to say we were turned off and just cancelled our reservation. Maaaaybe we'll give it another shot later in the future once they work out some in house kinks and once we can view their menu. Womp womp...

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner with my besties. The food was delicious and drinks were refreshing. Perfect combo for a great summer night. The bartender named Ricky was very attentive and provided amazing customer service.

Yelp
If this place is going to be more of a club than a restaurant, that is fine but it needs to be advertised as so. It would be nice if patrons were asked whether they wanted to be inside, outside, or at least somewhere away from the noise. We were very much in attendance just to get a bite to eat and were seated directly in front of a DJ. Left after a quick appetizer because of the overstimulation.

Yelp
Had a great experience checking out Mucho Gusto. Nice new addition to the neighborhood. 5 star service & Top notch drinks. Big fan of the Art & ambiance.

Yelp
Unfortunately all the effort that was put into this new place seems to have gone into the decor, which quite frankly is way too much and overstimulating. All of the advertising is about how 'instagrammable' this place is. Now to the food and service: both painfully mediocre. There is nothing in the quality of the food and drinks to differentiate it from the place across the road, or even other places in Logan. The prices are also way too much for the portion size. Our chips were stale, the appetizers came out cold, and the entrees were forgettable. I think that this place could be a success if they did the following: tone down the decor, get rid of some of the neon and fake flowers, focus on food quality and come up with interesting specials.

Gianni V.

Yelp
The ambiance was pleasant, but unfortunately the service left much to be desired. Despite the dining room being nearly empty, it took an unreasonably long time to receive our sangria and margarita, both of which arrived after we had already finished our appetizer. The appetizer sampler itself was served late and arrived cold, with some items differing from what was listed on the menu. I understand the restaurant is newly opened, but there are clearly several operational issues that need to be addressed.
