I can’t say enough good things about this place! ❤️ We ordered meals for 16 people, they had it ready for pickup in under 30 minutes, and everyone raved about how good the food was. Plus, the service is amazing! Side note… get the churros. Literally the best I’ve ever had!

Decent food. The meat quality for the steak tacos was excellent. Seasoned nicely. The portions are very reasonably sized. Bathrooms were clean, and had a nice lit candle on a table. But the whole Cali vibe crap was where they lost me. But overall, it's a good place to try.!!

Pictures are obviously mid meal. We were immediately greeted and welcomed. Great recommendations were made. Had a seafood burrito, quesadilla, beef tacos and pork tacos. Pork was tender and seasoned perfectly. Burrito was great and had it smothered with all the things. Our kids had the taco and quesadilla and loved them. Highly recommend. I was suggested by a family at the beach who was finishing up a lunch of tamales and they didn’t steer me wrong

Mucho Mas always delivers. I've been going since the days when it was only in LaPorte, and it's been stellar every single time. My go to is the California burrito with steak. It's always packed to the brim with piping hit and fresh toppings. Add any of the nachos, and you're ready for a food coma!

The whole experience was excellent. The guy up front I think his name was Armand made the experience great. He didn't rush us, was so friendly and helpful talking to us about the menu, you can tell her really cared. The food oh man the food was so good from start to finish! The salsa is so fresh tasting you can taste every ingredient in it blended well. The guacamole was THE BEST i have ever had. Nothing competed for flavor it was so fresh tasting and well blended. I got the much mas burrito and Holy wow that thing is massive! I couldn't finish it. My husband got the steak tacos Mexican style. The steak was so tender and there was about double the meat per our regular spots. Worth the money. This was our first time here and we will definitely make the hour drive to come back again and try other menu items.

Love love love it here!!! The vegan options are delicious and you get a lot of food for the price. While I was here I ordered the stacked enchilada with soyrizo. It’s like an enchilada lasagna. Very good!

I was blown away by the quality of food at this Mexican restaurant! The prices are incredibly affordable, but the flavor and freshness are top-notch. Every dish we tried was packed with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. From the quesadilla to the enchiladas, everything was delicious. It's rare to find such high-quality food at such a reasonable price. Highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing Mexican cuisine without breaking the bank!

I've been a huge Mucho Mas fan for years. Usually I visit the Laporte location, but I happened to be in Michigan City at lunch time so I ended up here. I've worked my way through the extensive menu and everything is wonderful. I've truly never had a meal here that hasn't been excellent. The Mucho Nachos with tofu are my absolute favorite. Today I enjoyed a taco salad, and truly this is the very best taco salad I have ever had. Service is always very friendly. The restaurant is attractively and uniquely decorated. Highly recommend Mucho Mas to everyone, for dine-in or take out.

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. Not too busy inside, lots of take out orders were getting picked up. Impressed at the amount of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as more traditional choices. I like my tacos a little saucier than they came (Cali style) but overall the flavor was good (one steak, one chicken). My husband liked the salsa he picked - he was glad it was legit spicy vs "Indiana spicy." Service was quick and friendly. The decor is fun- loved the inclusion of the South Shore train. The only awkward part was being asked if we wanted to leave a tip. I know it's kinda standard these days but if I'm ordering at the counter, haven't even tasted the food or anything, leaving a tip is awkward. Honestly I'd rather there was a tip jar or something.

The food was delicious!! Food came out fast. Also a fabulous value- the portions were huge!! I'd highly recommend this spot, do yourself a favor and go.

Food was not hot and was nothing special . Service was slow and chips and salsa they give us was so stale is was pathetic. Don't recommend this place to no one .

All depends on what type service you want. We were looking for a Mexican restaurant to sit down at a table and order our meal from a waiter. Mucho Mas is like a fast food restaurant. You go to the counter and order your meal. It is not what we wanted so we left. It's not right to give it a negative rating since we didn't stay.

You can get some nice vegan tacos here by just holding the cheese! Nachos are great too.

My chicken Baja Burrito was one of the best CA style burritos I've had since living in San Francisco. They call it a Baja but it's a Mission style burrito in my book. I plan on eating the entire menu.

Great little place in Michigan City. Fast-casual and inexpensive. The nachos are literally a work of art and this is probably one of the best churros I've had. The service was great too, very nice and easy to approach. Would recommend this place and will go back if I visit the city again!

We have been here twice now. The staff has been very friendly and helpful when ordering. The food both times has been very good.

I could easily be cheesy and say that I loved the place mucho mas but I won't . The food was incredible! I was shocked by the size of the portions and the quality wasn't lacking! The chorizo tastes superb as well as the black beans. I look forward to coming back and trying the other items on the menu.

While working in the area I walked over to this place during my lunch break. Upon my entering this place I was greeted by a very nice young lady since no wonder was waiting at the moment she asked me if I wanted to place an order to go or if I'd be done again. I ended up getting the chicken burrito to go. Which was huge and pretty good. I ate three times over a two-day period. I would definitely frequent this place again if the opportunity arises.

Got the grilled veggie taco plate with their tofu & vegan cheese, side of refried beans and rice. SO good. Tofu is marinated really well, veggies weren't mushy like some other grilled veggie tacos I've had. One filled me up so I'm saving the second one for lunch tomorrow - great deal. The whole menu has great, flavorful vegan/vegetarian options, especially in Michigan City, IN.

The food is good but y'all lost me with the Christian music , not everybody is a Christian and In a cali-style MEXICAN restaurant?? I liked when that one new hire Victoria played Selena Quintanilla , it set the mood and she always played the right ones.. do better

We were very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! It's more of a quick-serve restaurant, so you order at the counter and then sit down, they bring the food to you and that's that! The interior is cute, well-designed, there are quite a few tables and a center high top counter seating as well. I didn't see more traditional non-alcoholic drinks, like horchata or aguar, but they had a good variety of other types of drinks. Fountain drinks, margaritas, mixed drinks, canned and glass sodas. The food was surprisingly tasty, and their sauces were also good additions. Their menu caters to a wide variety of palettes/preferences. So you can order their chicken burrito and have good flavor without much spice, but you could also just use their salsas, their limes, etc to spice things up. Their salsa bar is also well stocked with different salsas, onions/cilantro, lime wedges, pickled jalapenos, pickled veggies. We got a couple chicken burritos, a couple Fresh burritos, a couple Mucho burritos, and they were all delicious! They all came with chips, although it wasn't that large of a serving, it was just enough. And I believe if you're dining in, you're allowed free chip refills? The prices were a little higher than I would've thought, but after eating the food, the quality made it worth it. Great flavor, okay prices, good location. Top notch!

We were very underwhelmed by our meals. I had the steak tacos. My husband has a steak burrito. The steak was tough and flavorless. The two awesome things about this place was the red salsa and churros, thus the two stars. Everything else was totally disappointing.

Great food and huge portions! I would highly recommend! It was counter service. The prices are very reasonable.

Love this place! I got the 3 tacos with rice and beans. I like being able to individualize the different types of meats and styles of tacos. Everything on their menu looks good. I want to go back and try it all!

What happened to this place?! I've been enjoying the MC location since it opened but the last 5 visits have been horrible. The place is quite dirty. What used to taste fresh and clean now taste like it's all cooked in meat grease. Maybe the grill isn't cleaned regularly and that's why? Dunno. The beans taste old, the veggies have been on the brown side and the taste of the tofu is just not right. Fingers crossed the management and staff will start caring again so it gets back to the way it was...

We enjoyed Mucho Mas!, well... muy mucho! We stopped in for dinner with our 3, 7 and 12yr olds and everyone loved it. They are very vegan friendly and are happy to alter any menu item for your dietary request. I had the BBQ burrito with tofu and it was delicious! Also some of the best chips and salsa we've had in the NW Indiana region. Very good homemade salsa! Mucho Mas! also has a location in Valpo closer to our home. We'll definitely be eating here mas.

Wow, wow, wow!!! I had Mucho Mas in the summer of 2021. I had an ant on my food (not from the kitchen but I assume from the door always been open and crumbs drop on the floor. (it happens)). I kind of swore them off, kinda. It was one of those things where if a friend said let's go then convinced me, I would go. However, I would not willingly go. Now, let me tell you. Okay, I know it was not the best intro to a food review, sue me. However, the service and food was thee and I mean THEE bomb.com. I am vegetarian and lactose intolerant (I do not consume dairy (no i'm not vegan)). Anyway, I asked the young lady (I do not know her name but she had, I think red or brown hair, she is short and so sweet!!!) if there was a vegan option for the new Al Pastor torta. I never had Al Pastor when I did eat meat and I was skeptical of spending my money on something with plant based meat. (hit or miss honestly). She told me it was sweet and tangy and had DAIYA DAIRY FREE CHEESE, I almost lost it. Girl, take my whole card. I got it. She asked if I wanted to add a drink, ugh, you want all of my money?? Heck yeah I want a drink. She was eager to tell me more about the apple juice soda and I got that and this beautifully descriptive vegetable soup. (soup girls). She wanted my opinion on it once I ate it. I pay, tip her, my friend orders. He loved his food but this is about my experience and food so yeah. Anyway, the soup? STOP PLAYING WITH ME, tasted so good made me want to slap mine and her momma. (I'm not kidding). Long story short since this is long, the lady at the register was bomb. The food, the vibes, the empty restaurant since they were about to close was great. She made us feel really welcomed. I will be back and will recommend Mucho Mas to anybody. Definitely got a customer back. Btw, if you love to take selfies and pictures, they have great lightening.

We headed out for an evening at the lake in late summer and picked up a burrito to take with us. The serving size was incredibly generous - and the food itself was tasty! We also tried the Horchata, which I didn't love. I would definitely swing by again for a quick meal - they look to have several appealing vegetarian options as well.

This place is a hidden gem! We were visiting Michigan City and stopped in to get something to hold us over until dinner. We got the nachos and wow; they were delicious. It was a lot more food than we anticipated and it was reasonably priced. Everyone who worked there was kind and prompt. We loved getting to sit and enjoy our nachos in a nice clean space.

My partner and I visited yesterday. He ordered the tacos and I had the nachos. The nachos were really bad. The black bean juice filled the plate and made the nachos black. The tortilla chips were burnt and the cheese was orange and cold. I couldn't tell if I was eating ground beef or baby food. I thought I was being safe with the nachos. I thought wrong.

I couldn't wait to try this place, any Nachos that are served on a pizza platter I'm in. The Nachos were so good, and the toppings were just not on top. There was toppings all the way to the bottom just perfect. This was the only thing we had here is the reason for the 4, but all food looked delicious. Next time we are up in this area would definitely try a few other items. This place gets very busy, which also tells you that the food is fresh and good. This is a must try if your in Michigan City Indiana.

My family was in town for a wedding and decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews. So glad we did! We ordered to go for 7 people, including one vegan meal. There was so much left over and we were all stuffed. We ordered chicken tacos, steak tacos & soyrizo tacos with sides of rice, beans, guacamole, salsa, and other taco toppings. It was perfect for our family picnic away from home.

We ordered through Grubhub "Seamless". Somehow Grubhub left a complete entree out of our order when they sent our order to the restaurant. However, our receipt and bank were both showing we were charged. My significant other called and spoke to Brittney. She was very understanding and happy to help. She had excellent customer service skills. She offered to have the chef make the entree so we could come back and get it. The food was delicious. The only thing I would do differently is order directly from the restaurant next time.

Have dined on La Porte several times and always great. Michigan City food was cold, had to go back to ask for drink, tables not bussed, restroom dirty. Girl behind counter far more interested in her phone than her job Won't be going back, puts a negative on La Porte unfortunately the experience was so bad

What a nice restaurant. The food was fresh, the entrees were creative and delicious, everything was clean and the service was quick and professional. I had the Mandarin Chicken salad and it was perfect: plenty of tasty marinated chicken and lots of of Mandarin slices. Chips and guacamole were fresh and tasty. Portions were generous. A+

Cute little family owned Mexican restaurant near the Michigan City Outlets. We were on the hunt for a local Mexican joint for tacos prior to doing a little shopping. We both ordered 2 Cali style tacos with black beans. The tacos came with mashed black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and verde salsa, in a flour shell served with chips. The flour shell was nice and crisp. The chips were delicious! They also have a salsa bar with 2 salsa verdes and 1 red salsa. As well as jalapeños and a few other items. Each taco was about $3 which isn't a bad price. Overall a nice little Mexican joint!

I'm not from the area but have visited twice over a couple years time. Both time the food was fresh, hot and tasty. The salsa bar is a little tricky and might I say awkward. Pouring salsa from a rather large spatula into a rather small container is a challenge to say the least. This fix is simple. Provide slightly bigger containers. With that said, I still approve the quality of food and service here.

Way better than El Cantarito. You get refills on salsa, too. The fajita bowl is so tasty.

I come to Michigan City fairly regularly for work, and when I do, Mucho Mas! is a must stop for lunch. The taco salad (with chicken added) is my go-to. The portion size is extremely generous and I love how they include some veggies not typical of a taco salad, like peppers, yellow squash, etc. It's one of the best taco salads I've had in years. When I come with colleagues, they're ordered the ridiculously huge nacho plate, which was delicious as well. All of the portion sizes seem to be generous and the prices are fair. I also enjoy the atmosphere here. It's hip/modern and reminds me of a restaurant I'd find in Chicago. This place is a must stop if you're in Michigan City!

Extraordinary!! All around. This is a definite must-stop for us now when we hit Michigan City. We came in for a late Sunday lunch based on the many positive Yelp reviews. No wait, plenty of seating, very tidy, super cool decor of huge wood tables, metal stools, exposed brick & tin ceiling, loved the music. And so many vegetarian options! We got 5 huge meals and 3 drinks for just $46 plus tip. A great value for such quality and quantity. My favorite was my vegetarian "al pastor" torta topped with fresh pineapple and barbecue sauce! Free chips & salsa to start- choice of 3 different fresh salsas from the salsa bar. The staff is friendly, helpful and totally enthusiastic. Love everything about this restaurant and we will definitely plan another visit when we come back through town.

Steak burrito was delicious and half size steak ultimate nacho was beyond amazing! Best part is unlimited drink refills with self-serve sauces that was unique. Interior was modern authentic Mexican vibe!

Stopped in while visiting the dunes. Food was amazing and the portions were very generous. Meals come with chips. Be sure to try all three salsas!

I ordered shrimp tacos which costed more which was fine but when they delivered to our table the shrimp were so tiny and there was only 3or 4 in a taco mostly cheese with a little lettuce! Totally Not worth it!! Will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

I definitely want much more :) Style points for: 1. Playing good music (parquet courts) 2. Pop art on the walls Lots of veggie options. At the Michigan city location we tried the veggie style tacos (grilled veggies, onions, and cilantro on a corn tortilla) and the mucho taco salad (lettuce, beans, rice, cheese, guac, sour cream, pico, grilled veggies on a flour tortilla shell). We added tofu to the tacos and soy chorizo to the bowl (thumbs up). The taco shell tasted good, but was a little stale. I love crunchiness and staleness makes me sad, but the grilled vegetables were delicious and I honestly enjoyed the hell outta eating the mucho taco salad anyway. It even made for good leftovers later on. FYI if like me you're not from the area -- it's a little tucked away, and I was scared it was closed when I was walking up to it (but it was open).

We had an awful experience One of us ordered mexi style tacos but when the food arrived it was Cali style. We sent it back and when the plate came back they just scraped the wrong food off the tortillas leaving behind cheese on the tortillas We also ordered the Mucho Nachos with Chorizo and they came with ground beef Finally asked for silverware to eat the now cold beans and rice and when the young woman brought it to the table she just laid it down on the table top,no napkin or anything under it. The employees we did see acted disinterested and annoyed that they had to deal with customers

Wow, this place really hit the spot. The 1/2 order of nachos ( vegetarian with added soy chorizo ) had a ton of flavor and was perfectly filling. My only regret was not being able to try a burrito or tacos. Cool lunch spot!

Great food, very clean and great service! We ordered 6 things, and the only thing we didn't like were the enchiladas and we aren't saying they were bad, just not to our liking. The taco salad, shrimp taco and tácitos were definitely the stand outs. Also loved the salsa bar, especially the inclusion of hot carrots!

Just had a wonderful lunch at Mucho Mas. Service was great, very friendly and very knowledgeable about vegan options. The soyrizo nachos were the best nachos I have ever had. I did a tofu fajita plate and it was some of the most flavorful tofu I've ever had. Almost everything on the menu can be veganized for those looking for vegan options.

When I first came here I thought it was real good but I have been dissatisfied every time after. The food is not horrible but just not really great. I don't go here much any more

I ran to the reviews to write this one. One of my favorite foods on the planet are shrimp and fish tacos. I had a personal favorite place called Local Taco in Lexington, KY. NOT ANYMORE! The meal I had today was one of the best meals I have had IN MY LIFE! This was so fresh, so delicious. The most original sauce on both my shrimp and fish taco. Slightly sweet and so refreshing. I told the hostess that the person who made my meal had my ever ending love and devotion so she brought the chef out and I told her it was one of the best meals of my life! Drive however far you have to to eat there. They have a HUGE menu! Enjoy!

It seems small but the flavor is big. Everyone was really nice and it had a nice energy. We were new so the server made recommendations. Loved everything we had. Salsa and chips are home made. Not a flavor that can come from a pre-packaged or store. Affordable and would definitely stop back in when in town!

We decided to take a trip to Michigan City for lunch and chose this place based upon reviews. We ordered a steak mucho burrito, full order of steak nachos, and kids quesadilla. The burrito was okay but wasn't anything special. The full order of nachos was massive but the chips were stale and overall it wasn't that great. This place looked like it was going to be good but really wasn't. I am hopeful this is a one off and we will give it another try sometime.

The cashier was rude and agitated at everything with us and other customers. The other employee also didn't talk and just pointed to where we were supposed to get our own salsa. The salsa had heavy oregano flavor which was more like a pizza sauce and wasn't good. The churro was u see cooked so the raw dough in the middle was mushy.
