Mud Review - Tooting - London - The Infatuation

"Our favourite time to visit Mud is 11am on a Friday, for a long, lazy day-off brunch when we’ve got nowhere to be. Portions are generous, dishes are bursting with colour—from pea shoot garnishes, pomegranate seed sprinkles, or golden drizzles of honey—and it’s got the same chaotic, fun energy as being around the kitchen table with your family. That does mean service at this Tooting cafe can be slow, but it’s all part of the laid-back charm. On large, well-loved wooden tables, big breakfast plates—like the must-order Kejriwal chilli cheese toast with suya-spiced bacon, or stacks of fluffy gianduja pancakes—are plonked down between friends. We’ve had the odd dry muffin here, but on the whole this cheerful spot can be relied on for good food and a good time. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Mud photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Mud photo credit: Mud" - Sinéad Cranna

The staff here are super friendly and helpful! We have been wanting to try this place for a while and it was lovely! They offer plant options for drinks. We got a lovely hot chocolate and a latte. The American pancake was delicious with lots of fruits and nuts! We will be visiting again soon!

Great option for breakfast in Tooting - we actually stumbled across it because Juliette’s was closed for Christmas, so we wandered up to see if there were any other options open and so glad we did! Coffee is great, food is delicious and really unique menu wise, absolutely would recommend!

Really original menu with carribean influence, lucky to get a seat here as we came quite late for brunch. Would recommend arriving early! Great service and a nice change from a usual English breakfast.

Such a wonderful little cafe! Food is so incredibly flavoursome and made with care! They also went out their way yo ensure they catered for my friends dietary requirements. Really really considerate staff which we appreciated. Absolutely will be back ♡

A staple brunch spot in Tooting with a great chilled atmosphere perfect for any occasion. I had the ‘great British breakfast’ which was honestly okay, but nothing great and a bit cold. My friend had the plantain and gunner benny which she said was bit tasteless. Food did also take quite a while. However I have regularly visited this cafe and service is always very warm and friendly so may be worth a visit depending on what you’re after.

I’ve been to this location twice so far. The first time it was hard to get service/attention from the waiter. I truly felt ignored the first time which was upsetting. I even watched someone else come in after me & get service faster than I did.. I waited about 30 minutes but no one came to my table so I asked if they were taking orders.. which obviously I knew they were. So it took a while to fulfill my hunger that day. Due to my first experience there I can’t give them five stars. However I decided to give Mud a second chance so the second time was much better. She (my waitress) was very attentive, kind, warm, smiled so I did tip her out of appreciation. Five star experience✨ Try the NYC stack it’s filling, delicious and fresh. I always get a cappuccino & water as well. I plan to try more dishes the next time I’m there. Great music selection. Definitely check it out!

A very popular spot for brunch in Tooting, offering many sweet and savoury options. The fact that it's been there for about seven years shows that it's a successful crowd pleaser. The corn fritter stack goes down as my favourite, but Turkish eggs is a close second. The Gianduja pancakes are a bit sweet.
