Just amazing! Last minute gender reveal cupcake. So we received our gender info like 10 days earlier than expected. I had to do something quick and Muddy’s made this huge moment perfect for us. I ran by after work. Showed Alisha (hope I remembered her name correctly) the results (without looking). They didn’t have pink and blue plain Jane’s cupcakes available so she went to the back and they filled a cupcake for me and even added question marks and sprinkles. They hid the pink really well too! Just incredible and we will be forever grateful! Added plus…it tasted delicious of course!!

Let me start by saying that Muddy's has been an all-time favorite of mine for years. Now I can truly say that it will forever be a favorite!!! I hosted a baby shower in their classroom / party room recently -- precious! The space was very roomy, clean, and accommodated our party size, with plenty more space to fill (around 25 people.) The owner was very easy to work with, communication was stellar, and of course the treats we ordered for the party were bangin'!!! Please, please, please do yourself a favor and consider hosting your small event at Muddy's! I promise you will not regret it!

This is my favorite bakery in the world. Their cupcakes are phenomenal, with the exact right amount of frosting per cupcake & the cake is never dry. They used to have one called Razzle Dazzle, which was a delightful chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting. If you're there & they have it, seriously you must try it. This time we went for their May cake of the month, which is my husband's very favorite flavor: apricot. It was absolutely delicious, with a great balance of apricot & almond flavors. Highly recommend this gem of a bakery!

We've loved Muddy's for years for their cupcakes, scones, and spiced tea, and finally had the chance to order a custom birthday cake. It was SO tasty and so cute. The gnomies are always so sweet when taking and picking up orders, and the whole process was so affordable and easy. Definitely will be going back for future birthday cakes!

Muddy's bake shop continues to be one of mine and my wife's favorite bake shops. Their Plain Jane cake was our wedding cake, 1st anniversary cake and now my wife's 30th birthday cake. I made the mistake of not ordering on time, but Muddy's amazing team stepped up and fully delivered. I can not express how thankful I am for their kind and consistent service. Not to mention their delicious sweets that always satisfy.

I wasn't sure what to expect so I can't say I was disappointed per se. I will say I was underwhelmed. After visiting Frost, Muddy's had big shoes to fill. Their selection is very small and unique. They have quaint goods for sale that may appeal to some, just not to me. I did purchase their rice Krispy treats and they are TO DIE FOR. Their banana pudding wasn't that great...if you're accustomed to vanilla wafers in your banana pudding...steer clear of their option so you won't be disappointed. YET, definitely purchase the rice Krispy treats. They are more than worth it.

We absolutely love Muddies food, treats, snacks. From The moment you walk through their doors you are greeted with amazing staff eager to help and the wonderful aroma of fresh baked goods. We are always looking for an excuse or Holiday to pop in and buy awesome treats. The take and bakes are awesome and great for friends & family or make a weeknight a little easier. They are a staple in our home and especially on Holidays and Birthdays.

Did an online order for cupcakes for a party. Super easy process and could even make some of the vanilla icing pink for the occasion with a simple drop down menu. I appreciate that they sell a half dozen - allowed us to get a bigger variety - and that there are minis as well. The cupcakes were a big hit. I enjoy that the buttercream is not overwhelmingly buttery or sweet, and the chocolate icing was especially nice. Would recommend ordering Muddy's pick up for an event!

The shop is cute both outside and inside. There is a window outside where people can view the employees baking, and there is a mailbox that blows out bubbles. The interior is very clean and quite organized. The register is by the door, along with coffee, cold products, beverages, and a small freezer for take home goods. There's an area by the window with baking supplies for sale, and on the other side is an area that sells products made by locally-owned businesses. Towards the center are the goods. There is an area where you have the option to take a number. It allows you to keep your place in line, in case you wish to browse the shop without having to rush or worry about a sudden crowd. I think it's a nice add on, especially since the shop's hours are fairly short. With Halloween upon us, the desserts followed the theme. We decided upon a lemon cupcake, and 3 cookies and creme style cupcakes with chocolate ganache. They had little ghosts on them. The lemon cupcake was good, and the C&C wasn't bad. The bakery is cashless, so make sure to have a card on hand. Both your cupcake box and bag are recycle friendly, and the bag is cute with characters and conversation drawm around. Prepare to spend near $4 for an individual cupcake. I'll give this one a rating: cute and sweet. Even at their former location, it was a very cute and friendly shop. Muddy's is a local favorite and has been around for years. They have a variety of flavors, and they offer many products for both your baking and curiosity needs. They even offer baking classes. Muddy's is a feminine, old-fashioned, cutesy dream of a bakery. Their pastry cases are full of homey treats like your grandma would make, as well as some modern creations - and everything is incredibly delicious. I love their cupcakes and mini pies. You can even find some unique options for a quick lunch. They also offer baking classes, which could be a fun activity to do with your kids or a group of friends!

This is one of my favorite bakeries in the country... no exaggeration at all!! The Oreo, Prozac, key lime pie, pecan pie, chicken pot pie, and quiche are my favs!!!

It's an absolute favorite in the city. I typically visit the East Memphis location but was in the area for First Fridays on Broad. Super cute location with Easter decor present. The cupcakes are so moist that they melt in your mouth. The staff are helpful in assisting with flavor decisions and ensure you get exactly what you need. Quick checkout at counter well.

My son and I were at St. Jude headed to his last appointment, and a kind man gave us these shortbread frosted clover and rainbow cookies from his volunteer cart. I graciously took them expecting these beautiful cookies to taste hard and bland, but no! These were buttery, crumbly and delicious! Had to be homemade !! It immediately it up his face !

I wish they had some less sweet options and gluten free options for people with health considerations. Like maybe cupcakes without icing. Or gluten free "wheat germ." Or reduced sugar cupcakes? Maybe something sweetened with dates ? The coffee I had last time I was there was not hot (I'm sure that must of been an accident). More cake options without icing? Lots of people love cupcakes with minimal icing or none. I love the wheat germ muffins (but I should not eat them) and I love less sweet things. They are always running out of them so seems like more less sweet options could be explored. I would buy a cupcake with a small amount of no icing on it and I would buy gluten free cupcakes. Thank you.

Stopped in to get a take home desert. Lots of options. We chose a "A kick in the pants lemon chess pie" in the cooler. It was frozen solid but was told leave it out a couple of hours and it'll be great. We followed the directions. However, the pie was not the consistency of a chess pie but more like a not quite congealed gelation. Think of slightly runny jello and you get the picture. We discussed it and wondered if the freezing had effected the filling? As lover a chess pie since a kid, when my great aunt made them for me, I was disappointed. Personally I consider it an afront to call it a chess pie.

The most charming yet unassuming place, they have outdoor tables and so many great options. I've had their banana pudding and coconut cupcakes. No disappointments ever! Recently trusted them with a birthday cake for my boo, an adorable and carefully crafted 6" cake. It was a success. Online ordering including for their custom cakes was without any glitch or issue. Look nowhere else for your next cake!!! They also have cute $20 DIY cupcake kits and other cute store merch which make great gifts. Service is consistently above and beyond. I also appreciated the COVID protocols and sanitizers available. Thank you!

I really really really want to recommend Muddy's but I can't anymore! As another poster mentioned, the more unusual flavors of cakes and cupcakes are gone. There used to be a great assortment of choices every day. Sometimes it's stale. The chicken pot pie has an odd flavor these days. But it's their treats that made you go and and those have suffered since going from regular shops such as on Sanderlin, to selling out of their bakery. Not to mention the one location on Broad isn't convenient and doesn't feel particularly safe. But bottom line, you went for their baked treats and those are not nearly as good - nor varied - as they used to be.

Cool little quaint bakery in a cool part of the city. The inside bakery area is very small with pretty few selections but what they do have is very good. A lot of outdoor seating is available with old ironing boards used for tables. My daughter particularly liked the Oreo pudding and chocolate chip cookie. My favorite was the chocolate cupcake with peanut butter icing. Great spot to stop in after lunch or to gift someone with some goodies.

This place is such a delight! I stumbled upon it while strolling down Broad street for the first time. At first I was like, should I go in there? I don't know why the hesitation. It's really welcoming! So just go in if they're open, everyone is nice. Inside looks like a charming old fashioned grocery store. Make sure to grab a metal basket because you'll be easily tempted by all the goodies and it'll be more than you can hold. They have a table near the door with cooking items and fun stuff in bags like cookie sandwiches. I love the rack behind it because that's where my favorite treat lives-- the brown butter Rice Krispie treats. I love Rice Krispie treats so it was the first thing I tried from Muddy's. These are heavenly. Unlike most Rice Krispie treats they aren't overly sweet but they are still sweet enough and soft with the right ratio of chew from the marshmallow and crunch from the Rice Krispie cereal. But the best part is they added brown butter and salt so sometimes you get this surprising salty note and sophisticated caramelization. Try these for sure. The main area is full of cupcakes and cookies. There's a fridge for the puddings and the savory & sweet pies. The first couple of times I went was around closing time so it was very chill. I had fun picking out my items. But then I went at opening (noon) and it changed my world! First of all the place was BUSY. It's not overly crowded but way busier than me by myself after 5. Most importantly that's why I discovered they have CAKE SLICES and they must sell out fast so I never saw them during the late afternoon. The cake slices are sooooooo good. I love the strawberry cake but my favorite was the grasshopper which was chocolate cake and mint frosting. I'm not even a chocolate cake fan but I decided to give it a try. Ohhhh man the cake was so moist and not too chocolate, just the right amount. It mixed with the mint buttercream like a dream! I was so sad I didn't buy a full cake! I miss it... There were a couple of misses. The brownies I got were a bit hard. I haven't been overly impressed with any of the cookies. But the very fun part is that the menu changes every week! So there's always something new to try. It's probably best that Muddy's is open only 3 days a week. Chances that you'll wanna go there every day is very high! Online ordering is super easy. They have a pick up area that gives prompt attention. Only sad thing is you can't order cake slices online, just whole cakes, so I recommend getting to the shop early for the best selection. Enjoy!

One of my favorite places in Memphis to go for a sweet treat and a smiling face. This place is run by the sweetest group of people you could ever meet. If you're thinking about it, definitely run and don't walk to Muddy's!!?

I had the pleasure of visiting Memphis, TN this past week and it was an amazing trip to say the least:). Prior to my trip I did some research on YouTube and Muddy's Bake Shop was a must try for me. Super cute on the inside with nice decor with warm friendly customer service, and the Prozac cupcake was delicious;). Moist chocolate cupcake with the perfect amount of frosting. It literally melted in my mouth (OMG) So good I saved the second one for my flight back home. I plan on visiting again in February and this place is already on my list. Thank you!!

I have been a big fan of Muddy's for years. I was a frequent patron of their East Memphis location, however, that location has been closed during the pandemic. This was my first time in the Broad St bakery and I'm so happy they are open!! The bakery is open for walk ins Thursday - Saturday from noon until 5. For walk ins, they have pre packaged items (cupcakes, cookies, pies, other delicious treats as well as clothing and bakeware). You can't pick single cupcakes out of a display case here - they have two or four of the same type pre packaged together. If you do want to pick, you can call in your order in advance and pick it up from a separate window off to the side. I LOVE all of their food. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of their cupcakes! They are always so moist and the perfect cupcake to icing ratio. But prozac, grasshopper, and cookies and cream are probably my favorites. Their key lime pie is also so so tasty!! And they serve mini pies in case you are just wanting a little dessert for one! Love how they decorated the shop as well. So cute and homey! There are a few tables outside as well to sit and enjoy your treats. And the tables are made from ironing boards! This place is a Memphis staple, so no matter where they are located, you need to make a stop here and try some treats!

Food is delicious and Muddy's is a wonderful luxury. Service always pleasant and orders online ready @ expected time for pickup.

While I sure miss the experience of the cute dine in coffee/bake shop in the Cooper Young area I'm so glad to still be able to get their amazing baked goods right from the bake shop at their Broad Street kitchen. The Prozac cake is truly the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten. Magically it's as moist or maybe even more moist on days 2 and 3 as on the first day we slice into it. Huge fan of the cupcakes too. The pucker up is a fave along with the grasshopper and the Prozac. The prettiest AND most flavorful cupcakes around.

This place is phenomenal! Everything I've ever eaten there has been wonderful. So many wonderful choices.

Order my husbands birthday cake from them every year. The cake is always amazing! Moist, flavorful but not too sweet. They have so many other goods too that are just as yummy!

Caution. This place is pants-expanding delish. I am partial to the Rice Krispy Treats but then the cupcakes are so good. Every year my husband and I gift each other a gift box of treats from Muddy's for our birthday. That and something with an elastic band!

Cupcakes were awesome!!! I got the variety pack that had vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. The strawberry frosting... you could tell they used real strawberries in the frosting. The chocolate frosting was yummy. Vanilla, ehh. The chocolate pie was ay too sweet. But my friend got some molasses cookies, yumy!

Cutest little shop!! Cupcakes are delicious! Staff is so very friendly!! Good little shopping center. Convenient hours of operation. I highly recommend Muddy's.

You can't go wrong at Muddys! They do have restricted hours so last minute treats aren't really an option. You can go to their web site and order things ahead or shop in their store during those limited hours. You can also give them a call to see if they have things in stock as well.

GET THE SEASONAL BLUEBERRY CUPCAKE. The rest are great solid cupcakes, but that blueberry one is a standout. Excellent dessert spot, and such a cute storefront!!

Wow! The cake we got (plain jane) was anything but. It was moist and beyond delicious. The buttry cream was excellent and it was a great hit at the party (birthday guy even had a second slice) I Highly recommend this bakery to anyone look for an above average cake. I will be back for all my dessert needs!

I can't recommend this place enough!! I almost exclusively get their cupcakes and oh my lord are they some of the best things in the world! They're so rich in flavor and the frosting isn't too sickly sweet. They're a great size and I feel like they're worth every dollar and more! Oh I have ordered a cake before and I was in love!! It was a chocolate Guinness cake and all the flavors were present! Seriously, if you haven't tried Muddy's yet, do yourself a favor and go! I've been going since I was in high school and here I am, 10 years later, always looking for an excuse to stop by!

Wow so glad I stopped in. Some reviews said they don't have much inventory at night but what can you say? It's fresh and there are no preservatives! The razzelberry pie was good but left me wanting more. The chocolate vegan cupcake was AMAZING! Almost caved for a second helping! Would love to come back and try other flavors or their cookies! They had an assortment of items- cupcakes, rice krispie treats, cakes, pies and cookies. Do stop it. Best deserts around- beats stuff I've gotten in a restaurant!

Go just go!!!!!!! The Bake sale is amazing they have tons of choices and the team at Muddy's is simply the best. Again just go!!!! My favorite is the Banana Pudding it simply is delicious.

Sampled a little of everything. Got two toffee bars, mocha espresso cupcake, "unicorn" cupcake, & a slice of Tomboy cake. Wife loved everything, daughter devoured her cupcake. I thought the cupcakes were small compared to what I've bought for the comparable $3. The cake had good icing but the chocolate cake was nothing to brag about. I thought it was dry. Nice atmosphere, small, but there was a couch in the corner with a bookshelf full of kids books.

I miss Muddy's. They have been operating out of their kitchen on Broad. You can pre order for pickup Th-Sat. Or you can just drop in for their "bake sale" on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. They have all kinds of goodies to choose from. Each week they have only a few flavors of cupcakes. This week they had vanilla bean, strawberry, Prozac (all chocolate) and Grasshopper (chocolate cake and mint frosting). Husband is a huge Muddy's fan so I got him vanilla bean cupcakes (vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream). You can buy 2 (of the same variety) or 4 (of the same variety). No single cupcake purchases. You can also buy a variety pack that had 1 of each flavor. They also have cookies, bars, mixes, quiche, chicken pot pie, buttercream icing, Sweet Magnolias gelato and several other things. Their stock may change. Just drop by and see what they have during the bake sale. By the way, the cupcakes were DELICIOUS! Muddy's is always good. Their cupcakes are very moist and flavorful. Can't wait for the East Memphis location to reopen.

My sweet tooth is unrelenting and Muddy's has tons of hype and votes of having the best sweets in Memphis! So... I thought to myself (and probably said aloud also), "I'll be the judge of that!" Welp, the I's have it! Muddy's is good, almost too doggone good! The place is also friggin' adorable with adds an extra layer of love for me. This is a type of shop that makes you want to order your sweets and then find a table and stay a while! (Which we did!) We happened to visit during their Christmas in July event, sampled a wide variety of Christmas themed sweets and regular favorites, and loved them all! My gingerbread cookie was exceptionally good! All in all, Muddy's didn't disappoint!

Super cozy looking inside and decorated nicely on the outside. Tried this place for the first time today, got the peppermint chocolate cake and it was very good!

Beautiful display.....beautiful colors...nice homemade feel. Quiche excellent, apple cider excellent. Desserts ok...look better than taste. Too much sugar is my guess. Very nice relaxed social place.

Muddy's is my go-to for all things dessert! This location has the cutest inside with kind employees, a warm interior, and fun goodies to purchase. Their cupcakes and cakes are always amazing, and the vanilla icing is absolutely delicious!

We ordered a birthday cake for my mom. We scheduled time for our order. It was delish. Pre-COVID, we ordered a vegan chocolate cake for my son's birthday that my family still talks about. Muddy's is just awesome with great customer service.

Hate that they closed their east side location but still manage to get some Muddy's every once in a while. PROZAC is the best!

I'm going to cry. First time going to this muddys location and the lady in there was the sweetest. I got a single prozac cupcake and handed the lady a $5 bill but they didn't take cash and without hesitation she said it was on the house and the next time I come back I would know. I'm going back every week with my friend because this was such a positive experience and I hope that lady has a blessed life. Amazing customer service and had the cutest decoration.

This place has some pretty good cupcakes and other delicious treats. Best part,..they're local. Staff has always been friendly when I visited. My friends and I came in about 930pm and another couple came in right at closing. None of the staff looked at us like "umm hurry up" or rushed us in our decision making. The blueberry cupcake(seasonal) is amazing and pretty, almost too pretty to eat...I said ALMOST. The Prozac is my go to chocolate cupcake. I had a May "guest flavor", the Mimosa cupcake, it was dry but had a nice flavor to it. The menu rotates and once they are out of a flavor..sorry for ya! Get there early enough to see what they have to offer, it is slim pickings the later you go. If the line is out the door, hmm choose wisely.

Muddy's Bake Shop is one the most unique small businesses I've had the benefits of being around. Employees are in included in the visioning. This provides delicacies that are sincerely baked with love because everyone gets to be in on the development. Kat runs her business with integrity and intentionality. We've moved from Memphis, but Muddy's is usually on our to do list when we return. I heart Muddy's.

Thanks Michelle. :P Found this place on yelp and that was the best thing that happened to me all day. Cupcakes were moist and soft, frosting is flavorful and very unique. Nothing like the stuff in LA. Was gonna go partying, but the cupcakes kept me company ALL NIGHT.

I've been coming here for years and can't imagine celebrating without a Muddy's cupcake. Graduations, birthdays, and bad days -- Muddy's has been sprinkling goodness in my life and in my belly. You enter and are greeted by the most heavenly smell then become overwhelmed with choices of cupcakes, cakes, brownies, cookies, pie, and coffee. My favorites: - Grasshopper (chocolate cake with mint icing) - Prozac (chocolate on chocolate) - New Yorker (chocolate cake with cream cheese icing) - Capote (chocolate cake with vanilla icing) - Unicorn (funfetti cake with cherry cream cheese icing and gold glitter) - Vegan Almond Brothers cake - Vegan peanut butter bars You really can't go wrong with anything you order and the coffee (hot or bottled cold brew) is pretty good too. They also have the cutest shirts, mugs, cookbooks, aprons, and cards. Muddy's does not disappoint!

I will say this location is just adorable. Smaller than their Midtown location but it has a lot of character. Plus it smells delicious inside. So my wonderful friends bought me a dozen cupcakes for my birthday and it made my day. The Santa baby cupcake was OMG so good. I am a chocolate lover and it tasted amazing. Topped with their peppermint icing and candy cake bits, it was a perfect combination. The other flavor cupcake was almond brother cupcake. Again so good, moist, flavorful, delicious. On a side note, I loved the cat decorations that my friend made since I happen to love cats. Overall, I am a Muddy's fan and I am so happy that they have the East Memphis location since it is closer to where I live.
