Best Dishes Eater Atlanta Ate in January | Eater Atlanta

"This spot serves some of the best Korean fried chicken in Midtown and would be a great place to grab Super Bowl watch-party snacks. The fried chicken sando with dark meat topped with pickled radish and carrots is delicious. The parmesan-dusted fries are a treat, all next to a vibrant scallion salad (thank goodness for greens). Be sure to douse the wings in plenty of Korean hot and sweet sauces." - Henna Bakshi

As you can see from the pics got into the meal and then realized I didn’t show what the beginning reveal. So you what’s left. If the pics don’t say anything but it was tasty! Now for the bad for what I paid, I’m not certain if was tasty enough. Definitely worth a try every now and then. A good repeat eat.

When I ordered here I order Katsu and it was a mistake when I got my food it was pork. I told the cashier that I don’t eat pork and that it was some confusion with the menu. It’s posted above and has a lot of similar items. The cook/manager proceeded to come and lecture me about how I need to read the menu and gave me a hard time with changing my order. Not sure who she thinks she is but there’s a way to handle customer service and clearly she needs a lesson in how to do so. Mistakes happen and the cashier was very kind but the manager needs to get her act together or she won’t be in business very long. The food was not bad but the manager is uncouth and unpleasant

The udon broth tasted really good, the chicken katsu had a very unique tempura batter and was delicious. I recommend the curry chicken katsu ,please try it. The bulgogi rice bowl was very delicious. It was a new menu so I ordered it. I will go to eat this often. All the food was very generously portioned, so I felt like I could buy for one and share with two people. The place is very cute, the servers are friendly, and it's an authentic Korean restaurant, which is rare in Charlotte.

Had the udon, it was okay. Great service and great food! However, would not spend money eating lunch here as most menu items can be made at home from an instant packet.

I ordered the Galbi (my go-to every time so eat Korean food ) despite the steep price for a food court ($28.99). It was way too fatty. Some pieces inedible. Used my plastic fork that they gave me to try to carve through the fat to no avail. The food court itself is nice with a good atmosphere. Won’t return to this Korean spot.

We had a Tuna Mayo Kimbop. It was a bit expensive for the price of a kimbop, but it was really good. I was surprised in a good way! It was worth every penny. And the Tteokbokki I tried last time wasn't my cup of tea. Next time, I'm going to try Kimchi pasta :) (I took a picture after I ate a few, so it looks a little empty)

I needed a nosh, and they had fried dumplings. I ordered the pork version, which was delicious. I will be back to try one of the tteokboke.

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally got to check this place out!! The menu sounds so good, but it's so hard to settle on one spot inside the food hall. We tried the tuna mayo kimbap and I liked it! I can't say I would order the tuna one again, but I would try some other options. I've had kimbap once before and liked it so I'd definitely give it another chance. Service was great and fast!

Yelp
Phenomenal food. Could not express this more! My favorite things here: -(Spicy) Chicken Bulgogi -Tonskatsu Kimbap -Udon -Curry Chicken Katsu (the curry is CRAVE-ABLE) They also have the options of different spice levels. They make add ins SUPER easy. It was a littttle expensive, but the quality makes up for it. The young ladies working in the front are always so kind. Very knowledgeable about the food as well & helped us pick some greaaat options. Mukja is beautifully decorated & has a cute little bar area on the side.

Yelp
Authentic Korean meal. The Alley 51 food hall is such an awesome setting to experience Mukja with their flavorful ramen and the drinks that make it a full experience. The staff was happy to help and the food came out quick!

Yelp
I ordered the beef soft tofu from Mukja, and it was really good! I enjoyed the spice level, but next time, I'll definitely make it spicier. My order was to-go, and while the customer service felt a bit dry, the quality of the food made up for it. That's why I'm giving it a 4--great food, just wish the service had been more welcoming.

Yelp
Guess I'll be first! I've tried them twice...and here's my take. First of all, the booth is quite cute and catchy. Even the name is fun. "Mukja" is a korean word that means "Let's Eat". Anyway, I love their menu...great variety of Korean foods, and some Asian fusion foods...with some tantalizing combinations! First time I was here, I tried their Kimbap, with this Korean drink (Apple flavored?). Sadly, I was disappointed. Guess I was expecting Bulgogi Kimbap...but I think it was just spam for meats? My bad for not reading the menu more closely. The drink wasn't a favorite either...a bit too tarty? Oh Well. Thought I'd try again...and this time I tried their Chicken Katsu with Curry. Well, it was a very generous portion of Chicken Katsu, and it tasted good enough. However, not good enough to merit this 19 buck pricing. For that, it should be restaurant-quality...and served on a nice plate (not paper plates and plastic utensils)! Unfortunately, I didn't think this was. While crispy enough, the Katsu was just very sloppily made and cut. Curry sauce was OK...I wished it was a tad richer in flavor, and spicier. Also, the cole slaw was a really bad, tasteless version...while I loved that they threw in some Japanese radish (Takuan), it was just the most minimal sliver of radish. Lastly, I hated the "To-Go" paper carton presentation. Why not at least a large, sturdy paper plate for those dining in? The last version of Chicken Katsu with Curry I had was in Duluth...the whole platter (including Udon Soup!) costed 15 bucks, yet several times better...in taste and presentation. Not even close in comparision! (see my review for "Kisoya" in Suwanee, GA). Never again will I pay 19 bucks for something from a food court. Still, I haven't yet given up on this vendor just yet...only because I'm itching to try their Tteokbokki? Guess I'm willing to try them at least 1 more time. As a Korean, I really WANTED to love this place. However, I only halfway liked it. Again, I thought the foods were good enough, but I just thought the pricing was a bit off. If priced more fairly, I might have liked the place much more?

Yelp
Cashier was extremely unprofessional and, honestly, insulting. I asked why my ramen didn't come with broth, and she responded, 'It doesn't come with broth, and if it did, your chicken would get soggy.' First of all, every other ramen place I've been to packages the broth separately for takeout for exactly that reason. I wasn't arguing, just asking, but her tone came across as rude and dismissive. She was young and probably inexperienced, so I get it--but it still ruined my experience.

Yelp
One of the worst Korean food ever had. Not only ordered beef soup but gave me tofu instead and also found rat shit in the rice. Disgusting!

Yelp
I had a really good experience from this vendor at Alley 51. I Has a bulgogi dish that was excellent. The service was also good!
