Wing Kings O.
Yelp
Mulberry restaurant, named for the street at the heart of Manhattan's Little Italy, is known for their Italian fare but it's also one of Josh Allen's top 3 wing restaurants in WNY so on this visit we ignored their delicious meatballs and jumped straight to the chicken wings.
Location: 4.5 / 5
Starting off strong, Mulberry offers a great ambience and a unique location. We visited at Christmas, where it was decorated to the hilt which is too nice not to mention. They also offer a very good Old Fashioned, just like your Nonno would have made.
Presentation: 4.5 / 5
Hitting all the high notes: Porcelain, celery, homemade bleu cheese and a thoughtful presentation. Italian grandmothers would approve!
Meat: 2.5 / 5
Mamma Mia, this was like a boneyard. All sorts of protrusions and irregular shapes.
Cook: 6 / 10
Again we were filled with regret at not ordering crispy. Oddly, some had it but not enough of them and those that didn't were gummy, gummy, gummy. Gotta question the preparation when 50 wings come out in 10 minutes. Par-cooking anyone?
Medium: 10 / 15
Wings Kings have only left wings on the table a handful of times, and at Mulberry we left 4. Flavor was okay but mostly franks. Par cucina? Scadente!
Specialty: 5 / 10
Tre White, welcome back old friend. Your first order of business now that you're home, get your name off those wings. Just a squirt bottle of BBQ.
Garlic parm tasted like cleaning products.
Sweetie Hot were pretty good but the best of a poor crop.
Overall 32.5 / 50
Mulberry, come for the meatball, stay for the lasagne (maybe skip the wings).
