I ordered latte and my friend had a black coffee. He is picky about coffee but he was satisfied with the flavor. They sell beans in the shop. This cafe has such a laidback atmosphere. If only it’s somewhere around my place.

I just recently tried this coffee place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. I got a matcha and I was happy to hear the staff was well informed about what was in the matcha they use. They answered my questions perfectly and my drink was delicious! 4/5 stars because I think it’s pretty pricey compared to other local coffee shops but I’ll return

Fantastic location, amazing and helpful staff that were always kind! It somehow manages to be very busy but never too loud or over crowded. The coffee is delicious, not scalding hot or cold. As far as I am concerned this is one of the best coffee shops in the Volunteer State!

My husband and I first visited Muletown in 2021. It was so good we stopped by three times in one day! Now that we live in Franklin, we enjoy driving down to Columbia to scope out antique shops and such. They moved into a new bigger space on the corner unit of the same building. Same lively vibe and excellent chill playlist - just more room for activities.

This is some good coffee! All made in house with different blends to purchase by the pound or by 5lbs or you can enjoy a cup of good coffee. Lots of different flavors and styles of coffee and don't forget the merch to remember you stay. Lots of room inside to enjoy your coffee and pastry and in time the shop will be expanding for more room and opportunities to make your coffee stay more enjoyable. Friendly staff to create a warm experience and a tasty brew. Definitely recommend this place

Being a coffee addict and new resident of Columbia I’m always in search of the perfect coffee spot. Muletown is so inviting with its small town charm and friendly service, not to mention their delicious coffee selections. I’ve really enjoyed trying their seasonal lattes. I think this will definitely become a regular stop for me and my family!

We love their new space as it’s much more conducive for their popularity! Their coffee blends are all amazing, but the woodsman is our favorite. The team is able to make tons of drinks - a Cuban is our favorite.

Great seating and coffee choices. Easy park on Columbia Square Tuesday 1 pm, Got a cinnamon regular black coffee Tuesday. Excellent service. I add honey. Next time sit and relay inside versus outside bench. Next door to shop and Barber plus ice cream parlor.

GREAT place! Finally getting around to making a review! I visited back in early December from Wisconsin while visiting my brother. The shop was so cozy and warm. We sat outside on the patio and had a nice view of the courthouse building. The girl working the register, I think her name was Christian or Christina, was FANTASTIC! She was so helpful walking us through the yummy holiday menu and pastries. I ended up choosing the apple cider and an apple muffin. Thanks Christian (or Christina) for the help and awesome customer service. She was a blessing! I believe a girl named Alison made our drinks. They were amazing!! Thank you! 10/10 Will definitely be back next time I'm visiting!

I'm a latte person, and they do a good job at that. So far, this is my favorite coffee place in Columbia. The new location and ambiance is great. The baristas are super friendly. Bean and coffee flavor is a 4/5 to me. Always enjoy coming here, but latte pricing is a little bit on the high side.

Really cute store front. The workers all had a great attitude and were very helpful. The merch is SO CUTE. And they have a flower stand with the most beautiful arrangements provided by a local farm. Lattes were delicious & the coffee cake is great.

Ordered blended mochas with pump of caramel and it was amazing. Ordered three regular blended mochas as well and they were terrific too. Just traveled for 24 days and tried coffee in every city and this was by far the favorite. Service was terrific.

Muletown Coffee Roasters is a warm and lively coffee shop with a vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great spot in the heart of Downtown. The branding and aesthetics embrace the history and feel of small town Columbia. My first experience a few weeks ago did not have me convinced I'd be a frequenter. My wife and I had ordered a seasonal beverage (s'mores I believe) with oat milk. Personally we did not care for the flavor at all especially for the price we paid. Upon glancing behind the counter, I noticed it was most likely due to the brand that they use for oat milk (Califia) which does not pair very well with coffee in my opinion. That said, I wanted to give the shop another chance and agreed to a coffee meeting there recently with a local pastor. This time, I purposed to order a drink without any substitutions to give them a fair shake. I chose the seasonal eggnog latte (a beloved Christmas tradition for me) and I must say, it may very well be the best I've ever had. The kind and inviting staff delivered a rich and creamy drink with a savory bitter aftertaste. I am already looking for excuses to go back and order one again. Overall, I'm so glad to have revisited this spot and now hope to do it again soon. Muletown is beginning to win me over as perhaps one of my favorite coffee shops in Columbia.

This place is great! Staff is kind with superb recommendations (because the coffee is so good)! As far as the beans, I only tried the Kenya Single origin. Amazing job. Flavor profile is really deep. It's almost like it expands my jaw/salivary glands more fully. Juicy apple almost indistinguishably with/to honey and a full deep apricot. Nothing goes too far into fruit though. It's so flavorful my mouth almost expects to water like I'm taking a bite of fruit. It's great! I am sitting here drinking a black coffee like it's water almost, or maybe like a sweet tea (?), but that's too sweet. It's hard to describe because it's such a wonderful cup. You have to try this for yourself and see where it takes you. Highly recommended. Most memorable cup of drip coffee on record, or at least for the last few years at a shop I bought a bag for home and I'll definitely be back. Not sure if they'll pull shots with it but I might see how that goes in an americano or just straight up. Oh... and they have lots of cool treats here like coffee, pelegrino, various specialty sodas, kombucha, and a bunch of baked goods: scones, muffins and a ton of other items too. Love the cool vibe. My cold brew is delicious. They have lots of seating, tables, and they have cool merch as well. Service was great our barista was very kind.

You cannot beat the location for starters, and the vibe of the place is very family and conversation friendly. The staff are friendly and take pride in this establishment and are always polite. The food is great although that's not where this place shines. The coffee itself, the vibe and the presentation of their brand makes this a great place to get coffee and hang out for a while.

This was such a fun place to visit! The vibe is laid back and service was friendly. I went twice within 24 hours (shhhh) and got the Gingerbread Latte. I also grabbed a few bags of coffee to take home with me. I didn't try any of the food items, even though I was tempted! I will definitely make this a staple on my travels back to Columbia.

Cute little coffee shop, got a cappuccino and the flavor was really good. They roast their beans fresh here. Free Wi-Fi. Great ambience.

This was always a good place to go and hang out and get a great cup of coffee. Always had that great Columbia small town feel. There is a manager there that has a foul mouth and shouldn't be in customer service. I observed her belittling employees, using foul language in earshot of guests and overall treating people with no respect. I have also noticed alot of turnover and many of the friendly faces I have come to know are no longer there. These are all evidences of poor management. I am not sure what the owners are thinking having this person in charge, but it will eventually catch up. I hate to see such a fine establishment have these issues. P. Cleburne

This place is so cute! I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday morning, and while it was a bit crowded, it was such a fun experience. He had the hazelnut mocha latte, which was AMAZING, and I had the strawberry mocha latte, which was also great! It's so fun that they have special monthly flavors. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Columbia. Editing to add: I can't have caffeine, and they were so quick to accommodate when I asked about making my latte decaf. I LOVE to see that!

This place is the ONLY good (fabulous, in fact!) latte we had in Tennessee! We are from California and were dumbfounded how awful coffee places are in most towns. Thanks!!

Muletown Coffee Roasters is akin to the ideal coffee shop. It has a perfect coffee shop vibe and decoration; it is not overwhelming and there is enough space to fit a decent sized group. The coffee was delightful as well. The Hazelnut Mocha was subtle and just sweet enough to be good without being offensive. My drink came with a lid, however, the employees made coffee art on it, which shows their attention to detail. Their menu did not have all of their drinks on it but that didn't matter because if you ask, the employees will happily tell you what they can make.

The location was very inviting in the middle of downtown. The staff was friendly and made me an amazing latte. I just wish I could remember what it was called. They also have some good dark roast in a steeping bag you can use on the go.

Stopped by for a coffee and wanted to try something different. Ordered a vanilla lotte. It was pretty good and wasn't overly sweet like some places. They had a limited food selection but what they had looked and sounded good.

I had a great experience at Muletown this morning! My wife and I walked in and they were pretty busy but there were still seats available. The lady taking our order was really nice and she seemed to know most everyone there and asked several customers about specific things in their lives. It made me want to be a regular! Great location on the square, great coffee, and friendly people! Check it out! (P.S. I ordered the vanilla oat milk latte and it was great. Their selection of alternative milks is good!)

I was really excited to find a good coffee shop downtown to study at, but was kinda disappointed when I got here. Plugs were hard to come by so definitely bring everything fully charged. The menu is very limited and I wouldn't say the coffee is great. I got a regular black coffee and I didn't really taste any undertones. I ended up putting some sugar which I normally don't do. Also, I got hungry after an hour and there were pretty much 2 pastries being sold. I just left to go home and eat there because they didn't look satisfying and seemed overpriced. Positive things were that the environment itself is nice to study in. The front wall is basically all windows so plenty of natural light comes through. The tables were not crooked and the seats were comfortable. There was even a bench outside if you wanted to study outside.

Great little coffee house. I'm from the NW and a coffee snob this place did not disappoint. The down fall it's small and gets crowded. Maybe time for a second location.

A hipster coffee shop that would be at home in the Gulch or East Nashville as well! I was visiting Columbia for the day and stopped in at Muletown when I needed a caffeine pick-me-up. Their cappuccino was excellent, and the shop is bright and large and very modern. I enjoyed sitting and enjoying my coffee!

Nice little coffee shop in the heart of Columbia. The colder weather of the beginning of fall seemed to lure everyone in town to get coffee because it was pretty packed both days we went! My sister and I both got mochas they we greatly enjoyed. Would definitely come back again.

I love a good cup of coffee and I'm not a fan of large chain coffee shops...Muletown hits the nail on the head for that! I prefer iced coffee and my favorite is the iced white mocha. My husband enjoys a cup of regular coffee with a little sugar in it. He says it's "way smooth" (that's a good thing). The atmosphere is fun and the employees are always working hard and have a smile on their face. Definitely our favorite local coffee shop!

This place is a Gem! Just spent some timeout in the beautiful historic town of Columbia. The local shops nearby are honored to have such an amazing shop in town. The coffee is phenomenal. Espresso was smooth and the notes were strong. Ethiopia was roasted to perfection. Keep it up guys!

The flavor of the espresso in the sugar free vanilla latte (I had decaf) was really delicious and smooth. However, I couldn't taste the vanilla at all. In addition, both my coffee and my boyfriend's chai latte were not hot at all. His basically was room temperature and mine was a tiny bit warmer. For a $4 latte, I expect it to at least be hot.

Best skinny vanilla latte in the mid-state. With a great vinyl shop next door! Really like the friendly service and care taken with the drinks. No assembly line production here. Great homemade scones too.

Adventured outside of the Nashville city limits and was pleasantly surprised by this little shop. Cold brew was on point. Not an atmosphere I would necessarily thrive while getting work done, but nice for a quick drop in. Friendly and knowledgeable staff made for easy conversation. I will definitely be making the occasional drive out to Columbia now that I know this little gem exists - especially after discovering the vibey record shop next door.

What a gem in Columbia's downtown square! I am in Columbia frequently for work, and a coffee shop like this is a rare find. The drink and pastry selections were plentiful and delish! The environment is simple, but you have everything you could need. Plus, everyone (including the owner himself) was super friendly and accommodating! My colleague and I had stopped to get some work done, and the owner stayed open late for us so we could finish up before heading back to Nashville. Will definitely be back!

As a Devoted Coffee drinker - I drink coffee from the moment I wake up till I fall asleep every night (No it does not bother my sleep!) I was in Columbia looking for homes with my Realtor Shelley Potts - I needed a really good coffee- and not kidding as I am picky with my coffee. She stopped here and said You want the best coffee -this is the best coffee. I was Skeptic - but one big sip & a full taste -and I swallowed all my New Yorker Skepticism. It truly is the best coffee I have had in a very long time. Its Not watered down or weak- not bitter or harsh either- they have mastered the perfect roast. I may see if they have an apt for rent upstairs if there is one! Yeah- its that good! This New Yorker gives 5 Stars hands down! And I'll be back. Today.

Best coffee shop around! So many vibrant flavors that are roasted on-site! This place has a clean, welcoming appearance! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and truly care about putting out a great product each and every time!

Traveling admissions advisor from Texas. Stopped in for an iced chai and an afternoon of work. Was met with "smiling eyes" because you know...COVID. Chai was delicious, employees were wonderful. Music was great. Felt like a part of the family.
