Sample From Southern Maryland’s Rising Crop of Wineries, Breweries, and Distilleries | Eater DC

"Cindy and Jason Mullikin founded this craft brewery that cans every 500-gallon batch of beer. There are more than a dozen taps, too, with bar stools offering a view of the brewers at work. All-year options include a blood orange blonde ale and a hazy IPA. Heat-seekers should try a small-batch habanero stout."

My first time here was last night at a Glaze & Sip event. My daughter and I needed a little break from the routine and something artsy to do. We were both pleasantly surprised by how cheerful the atmosphere was. Having kids around was refreshing. The adults were all well behaved, probably due to the family vibe. They don't serve food, because their focus is on making and serving beverages, which they do very well, but they let you bring you own food in, so we had a variety of snacks to go with our drink selections. I had a hard cider with a flavored seltzer which was amazing. My daughter had flight and she was able to sample some of the beers, so she'd know which ones to choose for her board. We spent about 3 hours there, painting pottery, grazing, and sipping while we caught up with the events in each other's lives. We left feeling restored and ready to enter back into our busy routines. The service was perfect. They take the time to educate you on what they have and make suggestions to help you get something that suits your palate. You can see some of the brewing area and equipment in the back. They weren't operating at the time, but it was interesting to see and satisfying to know what you're drinking is produced right there on site. They have many types of activities that you can look up on their FB page or website. There are outdoor picnic tables, and local Food Trucks regularly come to the parking lot. If you live in Hughesville, Charlotte Hall, or Prince Frederick, this establishment is a short drive away, and we'll worth visiting.

Nice brewery tucked away in an industrial park. Showed up around 5:30 on a Friday and there was an Irish duo playing some good music. Beers were pretty tasty as well.

While investigating the area we stumbled upon Mully's Brewery. It is set in an industrial park, but is very accommodating. They have a good amount of covered outdoor seating with a small bar area inside. We shared a flight of their brews and I had a pint as well. Our favorite with their Boysenberry Blonde and we also really liked their Naked Tart Berliner Weisse. All the beers were tasty though, so you can't go wrong.

We discovered Mully's almost by accident 9-10 years ago. We're glad we did. A local gem! Good beer and friendly staff! While you can get food delivered there, I recommend going when there is a food truck there for a better experience.

Just a regular girl in love with craft beer guy Take a drive down the road to Prince Fredrick, MD and enjoy a nice cold beer at Mulley's brewery. A place where the staff is friendly the quotes on the wall are funny, the customers seem at home and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. A perfect way to clear your mind and have a low key good time. The BBQ smells good and hits you as soon as you walk in the door. If we weren't heading to dinner I would have definitely tried the ribs and greens. Great reason for me to return. #fallynsfoodieexcursions #meandmymrglenn #beerlovers #mulleybrewery

Google
Mully's has really started to produce some awesome beers. The most recent Total Eclipse was amazing. I tried a sour beer, which I dont normally like, but this one was good, more tart than sour. The staff was very attentive and nice, look forward to our next visit!

Google
Great beer and service. The outside is a little off-putting at first, but the inside atmosphere is great.

Yelp
I've never had hazelnut coffee in my life so I was a little leery. But I love stouts. So I got the hazelnut stout. I love it. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. Not bad looking either. They have tables outside. I love the atmosphere in this place. It's just like a brewery I definitely recommend stopping in and trying out a flight or two.tell them I said Hi.

Yelp
This place is great. It is family oriented and has plenty games for you to choose from while you sit and enjoy your beer. They have a humongous beer menu on the wall and everything tastes as good as it sounds. The bartender was quick and friendly and had great recommendations. You won't be disappointed by any of The beers at this brewery. My favorite was the current sour they have on tap but the IPAs were all tasty.

Yelp
A small woman owned space in the industrial park that makes delicious beverages. We found this place as a friend's band was playing, but if we are ever in the area again, we will drop by. The the good weather they have tables with tents outside. Inside is a long bar area.

Yelp
I haven't been & didn't know anything about them , but ai saw a FB post about Axe throwing. I have always wanted to try. I don't drink & not sure if I should having a Axe in my hand. I'm always up to having Fun & don't need a drink to do. Not saying there Beers aren't any good because they Do look Great. Look forward to visiting in a few days. Sorry with just 3 stars I just don't know yet. I always thought if your selling alcohol more than just popcorn or pretzels for a choice to eat wouldn't even consider food. Are People allowed to bring in their Own Food?

Yelp
Cindy was awesome, very welcoming staff with a wealth of knowledge. Not a beer drinker, but sampled the FruiTart Black Currant and the Mully's IPA. The Black Currant was the winner for me! Also, the Crabby popcorn from Calvert Kettle Corn is a must try! What a great time!!

Yelp
Great selection of beer. Too small to offer food service, but do offer some snacks. Came to listen to The Weekenders band and have a brew. Good vibes and nice people to chat with who are regulars to Mully's. Worth the drive from upper MoCo.

Yelp
Quaint location, with a nice inside set up earns them a second star but as a stand alone beer experience it's a one star place We got a flight of 5 beers for 6$, not bad! Except the flight had varying amounts of beer in it for no reason besides a bad pourer who had lots of foam in some. I understand the imperial being half pour but we definitely didnt get a good flight. So with our random assorted pours some beers were either flat, or I just really don't like Mully Brews.

Yelp
Of the breweries in Calvert County, this one was my definitely the favorite! Wide variety of beer options from sours to stouts. Great outdoor seating options and respecting all Covid related precautions!

Yelp
We had an excellent time at Mully's! We had two flights ($6 for 5 tasters) and tried all of the beers. Every beer was flavorful and delicious. The staff was friendly and happy to help. The beers are reasonably priced at $6 each, and we had a growler filled as well (not sure of the price). They had someone there cooking sausages and also had some bags of chips/pretzels for sale. Though we didn't play any, they had a nice selection of board games to use, which is always fun when you're drinking. They had some tables in the actual brewery which was really cool, it was fun sitting next to the big fermenters and seeing all of the equipment around. They had a nice outdoor area also. I'll definitely stop back during my next visit to Prince Frederick!

Yelp
My wife and stopped in last and had a very good time. We each had a beer and enjoyed them. My wife liked the FruiTart with berries. During our time we checked in on the Untappd app and even added one of their beers not listed (which I discussed with the person at the counter), we checked in on Facebook with photos, we bought two six packs and a crowler to take home (not cheap), tipped over 20% on the whole order (including take-home) even though it was counter service only and I know times are tough on workers, and when I asked for a sticker because my wife liked the Maryland flag and I was willing to give them even more free advertising I was told it was $3. I said no and that little event put a damper on the end of the evening. It was a five star night until that point. Sometimes a business, especially a small business, needs to know when to give back a little.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this little local brewery! We went this past Saturday for a tasting & tour. For $5 each we received a glass & 6 beer sample tickets. We tasted all of the beers available ( Marc Six Blonde, Carmelite Wheat, Patuxent Pale Ale, Jack Straw IPA, Shucker Stout, & the speciality brew LineStepper Pale Ale) The Blonde & The Wheat were my personal favorites. At this point in time they are only allowed to do the 6 samples per person. Hopefully soon they are able to sell pints as we would have loved to stay a bit longer and have a few drinks. They also fill Growlers the prices range from $7 - $10 for 64 oz. If you have a Growler from another Maryland Brewery they can fill it for no additional charge, otherwise you would need to purchase one of theirs for $8.99. Mully's also offers mix & match your own 6 pack for $10.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The best brewery in MD. Tried four beers and they were all top notch. The Tongue Crusher IPA was my favorite. Caney Creek catering was there and had the best brisket I've tried in this area. Good thing they showed up since Calvert Crabs was rolling out early and we missed em. Check this place out! Awesome food, beer and bartenders.

Yelp
Love Mully's, I can't say enough good things about this place. Cozy and super friendly family-owned place. Mully's makes excellent beer and has awesome special events. It is hidden, but for sure it is a gem. You will not be disappointed. My only regret is I don't live closer. Jack Straw is an amazing IPA and their pumpkin beer is the best I have ever had. Plus they have small batch stuff they brew in a whim which is usually great.

Yelp
My husband and I frequent Mully's! They have a good selection of rotating draft beers. They also have food trucks and nice outdoor seating when the weather is warm! It gets pretty crowded since there are not many places like this in Prince Frederick. Only complaint is that we wish they were open later on the weekends :)

Justin W.

Yelp
This place is one of my favorites. Don't expect a whole lot in terms of location but then again it is a family run microbrewery. Beers are excellent! If you're unsure get a taster first. Pints, half pints, Growlers and half growlers are available at acceptable prices. They also have fantastic events about once a quarter. They may seem pricy but we have attended them and they are well worth the money. Try them out!! UPDATE: We have been attending their quarterly (roughly) events. Since my last review we have attend the chef/pairing for their Valentine's Day and Father's Day events and just attended their crab fest! The events may seem pricey when paying for the tickets but every time, we leave happy with our experience. Most of their events are almost like a family style dining. The beers are always cold, staff always welcoming and the atmosphere is always laid back.

Yelp
Mully's is officially my new favorite place in town! I was finally able to make it in after wanting to go for months, and was very pleasantly surprised. Though the taproom is much smaller than expected, it was also very nice; no frills yet well thought out and organized. I especially loved the board games and the fact that Wednesday is now Cards Against Humanity night! The entire back wall is glass paneled, which allows you to see the inside of the actual brewery, which is almost a reason in itself to go. The bartender for the night, Nick, was a sweetheart and the other customers were very friendly and engaging. As for the beers, I have yet to try anything from Mully's that isn't absolutely amazing (and very reasonably priced). Keep up the great work, guys!!

Larry K.

Yelp
Excellent craft brews! Very friendly service and the other patrons were a fun group to be around. Kelsey was the bartender the night we were there and he made sure that all of his customers had what they needed.

Yelp
Just got a Six pack of "Brunch Crunch" beer and if you were wondering what soup with an a dash of alcohol smells and tastes like this will be the clear winner. I would rather drink bath water from a koala. Yet the after taste makes up for the gut wrenching first pull. Gave the rest of the six pack to my worst enemy, and his family and lands withered and passed into the next realm so I got lands out of it +1 star.

Yelp
Justin and Cindy gave us a great experience. We came with a big group on Sunday and they gave us a nice tour and tasting. We tried the blonde, pale ale, wheat and stout. The pale ale was surprisingly hoppy and great! That was my favorite. The wheat was also pretty good. I would definitely to try their IPA when they have it available. Justin and Cindy clearly love what they are doing. During the tour they told us how they used to homebrew, and their current operation is almost 100% family run. They talked about each beer during the tasting with enthusiasm and love. We are looking forward to going back and tasting more of their concoctions and picking up growlers. Great, local business.

Yelp
Had a great time here. First time in and beers were great. Decent amount of seating outside and spaced appropriately with COVID restrictions. Tyler was great and very knowledgeable. He walked me though some beer options to insure I got something I enjoyed. He was spot on too!!! Not sure if they always have the half smokes there but they were delicious as well!

Yelp
Very nice setup plenty of parking. They were selling pretzels with different toppings. The beers are all very flavorful my favorite was the Patuxent Pale Ale. Prices are very reasonable $7.00 for a growler of great beer is super reasonable. Staff are very friendly if I'm ever in the area I'll be stopping in again.

Yelp
I highly suggest a visit. They are family friendly and care about getting to know their customers. Their product line has some nice choices as well.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The two times we went there it has been roasting hot outside (not their fault). Last summer it was so hot we had to be inside and the nice bar. And recently it was hot but we sat outside since we had our dog with us. But the beer is good and cold and the people are friendly so what's not to like?

Erin T.

Yelp
Good beer, nice atmosphere with a covered patio.

Yelp
AMAZING BREWERY!! We went to Mully's and were blown away. Great beer selection and quality brew to go with it! One of our new favorite breweries for sure. Our favorite by far was the Ales for Tails!

Yelp
Great tasting beer, fantastic service, and a friendly environment. Growler fills and custom six packs.

Yelp
I just love this place! If you love good local beer, give them a try! A true hidden gem

Yelp
Fantastic! Great beer and atmosphere. It doesn't end there, though. Mully's is very supportive of the community. It's nice to know that not only are you getting quality beer, but you are also supporting a company that gives back.

Yelp
Great find! Very friendly. Excellent beer, great atmosphere, tour. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great place. Mully's is a little out of the way, but it is so worth it once you find it. Good beer. Good people. Very family (and dog) friendly. I took my son there for his 21st birthday. Josh was behind the bar that day and he couldn't have been nicer. I think they have around 12-13 different beers on tap, and Josh knew all about all of them. He even made great recommendations. My son loved the ChupaHabra habanero stout. It had a great stout taste, but some heat on the backside. Too bad they ran out because we would have taken some to go. I strongly recommend taking the time to find Mully's. You will not be sorry.

Anthony T.

Yelp
