This place has quick friendly staff with good, well priced, food. During my stay, I enjoyed breakfast and lunch and tried the more quirky items on their menu. All items were great and came out quickly. Would recommend for your quick meal while staying at the Buchanan or as you're visiting Japantown.

Shabu shabu was delicious. We tried all the meat by doing all you can eat. Food presentation is okay. The place seem not so popular so its definitely a gem for thos that do not like to wait for tables like I do. The staff was great and attentive. We will definitely come back for spontaneous eats.

Since it was my first Shabu experience, I'm no expert. But this meal was amazing! We did the all you can eat plan and just kept the food flowing into the broth. The spicy miso paste will haunt me with its absence from my everyday life!

Meat smelled and tasted old. Edges of the meat slices were dried up. Meat would fall apart when trying to take a slice off the meat tray to cook in the broth. You end up with shreds. Broth was very bland (at the end of the meal, it reduced down and was okay). Veggies were good. Someone on yelp described it as "meat water." Decided to use just one side of the split pot to concentrate as much flavor as possible. Used all of the miso and spicy miso pastes, all onion, and all garlic.

Great place! Such friendly staff. I had a ton of rib eye, and some lamb. Very very good. For sauce my favorite was the peanut sesame. I put some garlic and green onion with it. We're definitely going here agian soon! Great experience.

Very friendly staff. We had not had Shabu shabu before, but the waitress was happy to explain, without making us feel stupid. Luckily I'd had Chinese hotpot before, so found it similar. The ingredients used were fresh and delicious; we were very full afterwards. And for dessert, the green tea ice-cream was lovely. You need to ask for a key for the bathroom, by the way, which is downstairs.

Not real Japanese style (according to my Japanese companion) but the taste of this Shabu-Shabu is still good. The meat was cut a little too thin even for Japanese, not all of the veggies are Japanese and the base had less flavor then usual. That said the veggies and meat still taste good and you get a good selection of dips and sides. The staff was friendly and brought us new meet right away after we finished a plate. 30$/person gets you a all you can eat meal which seems fair.

I love the atmosphere here. Workers are very kind and courteous. Just know the menu changes on the time of the day so there may be certain items you can't get during lunch from the breakfast dinner and etc.
