The 15 Best LA Restaurants For A Birthday Dinner

"From the moment you pull up to Mun and hear Usher blasting from the speakers, it’ll be clear that this KBBQ spot delivers more than just nice cuts of meat. The room feels as much like a nightclub as it does a restaurant: there are flashy black marble tables outfitted with grills, and the drinks—like Japanese whisky, cognac, and lychee martinis—flow freely. The energy at Mun is perfect for when you want a premium barbecue experience without sacrificing a good old-fashioned party atmosphere. Balance high-end meats (the $200 variety combo includes flat-iron steak, honeycomb-cut pork belly, pork jowl, and short ribs) with fun a la carte items for the table." - brant cox

Where To Get Dinner With Someone Who Talks Too Loud - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The energy at MUN Steakhouse ionically charged: vintage Usher blasts from the speakers, premium-grade steak sizzles as it hits the grill, and drinks are flowing. This KBBQ spot in Koreatown is every Extremely Loud Person’s aural dream, a place where they can shout directly into the waiter’s ear to request an extra serving of bacon-topped potato salad and not seem out of place. Meals here should balance MUN’s excellent meats (get the $200 variety combo which serves four people and includes flat-iron steak, honeycomb-cut pork belly, pork jowl, and short ribs) with fun, whimsical a la carte items like truffle shrimp and kimchi “bomb” noodles, an ice-cold soup akin to naengmyeon." - kat hong

The 15 Best Korean Barbecue Restaurants In Los Angeles

"Equal parts barbecue spot, drinking den, and informal nightclub, MUN is an upscale Korean steakhouse where you’ll share plates of boneless short ribs, beef tartare bibimbap, and kimchi pancakes glued together with molten cheese. The energy here is fork-in-the-socket electric and the menu is a mix of homerun traditional dishes and fun creations: thick-cut steaks, creamy bang bang shrimp, Wagyu beef brisket, kimchi cold noodles, and cheese fondue. Mun Korean Steakhouse - Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"From the moment you pull up and hear Usher blasting from the speakers, it’s clear you’ve arrived at Ktown’s hottest party. Welcome to MUN, an upscale Korean steakhouse where you’ll dine on boneless short ribs, beef tartare bibimbap, and kimchi pancakes glued together with molten cheese. Almost everything is painted black, from the walls to the benches to the flashy marble tables outfitted with grills containing tiny, barely perceptible air vents that whisk any  smoke away from your face and hair. Everyone on the waitstaff is tatted. And drinks—like Japanese whiskey, cognac, mezcal, soju, beer, and strawberry lychee martinis—are poured at warp-speed. Equal parts do-it-yourself barbecue, drinking den, and informal rave, the energy at MUN is fork-in-the-socket electric. Meals should balance premium meats (the $200 variety combo serves four people and includes flat-iron steak, honeycomb-cut pork belly, pork jowl, and short ribs) with fun, whimsical a la carte items." - Kat Hong

We came here for the first time yesterday and had the BEST lunch we’ve had in a long time. Food was absolutely fantastic. We got the pork for two and I couldn’t believe how good everything was. This is definitely more traditional Korean BBQ and may be my new favorite in the area. I can’t wait to go back and try to steak but the pork was absolutely amazing. Side dishes as well. And great service. We had our dogs with us on the patio and they gave them treats and just went above and beyond to make sure we had a great meal. Bringing my whole family here soon.

Google
Food was excellent, quality of service was amazing. My favorite spot to eat kbbq, super high quality and thick meats. Also love their strawberry lychee cocktail here, shout-out to the bartender for explaining each drink we had questions about and to the servers for being super helpful with everything. They deserve more customers!

Google
The meat here is excellent, no joke. We had a rotation of staff members cooking different cuts of meat from the OMG set for four, and almost everything was cooked to perfection. The ribeye and beef belly were my favorites. The bad: The service was a mixed bag. The staff were attentive when it came to cooking the meat, but they lacked hospitality and attentiveness in the rest of our dining experience. For example, when we first arrived, we were told to leave in 2 hours before we even sat down. Another downside is the huge vent coming out from underneath the table. While it does its job well, it takes up more than a foot of leg space, and at the smaller tables, it’s quite uncomfortable. Also, as usual, parking is terrible in Ktown.

Absolutely loved my visit to Mun Korean steakhouse! The meats were top-quality—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The banchan (side dishes) were fresh and kept coming, adding variety to every bite. The vibe was lively yet comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Perfect spot for both casual dinners and special nights out!

Google
Had an incredible experience at Mun Korean steakhouse! The quality of the meat was outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly at the table. The side dishes were fresh and plentiful, and the staff made sure everything felt welcoming and fun. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great mix of amazing food and atmosphere!

Google
Lovely restaurant with grill service. The cuts of meat are delicious, drinks are tasty, and the sides and sauces are amazing. They did forget our sweet potato mozzarella sticks, so I can’t speak to those, but you will definitely get enough food from just the package if you order it. Highly recommend.

Google
In a competitive city of many great Korean bbq restaurants, Mun stands out as one of the ones with better food. It's a bit pricier than average but not too much, and the meat is excellent quality and the banchan are good. The restaurant's build makes it feel a bit more industrial and less high end but it's still always busy and buzzing.

Updated review- A solid 2 stars, down from 5. We’ve frequented this restaurant many times and used to call it our favorite Korean bbq restaurant due to its quality of meats and service. However, this last visit has really left a sour taste in our mouth and I’m not sure if we want to continue dining here. 6/7/2025 at 12:30pm I reserved this almost a week in advance for a party of 12. We had family in town for our wedding and were excited to take them to our favorite Korean bbq restaurant. Upon entering, the men that were there were rude and we did not feel welcome. We were seated in 3 different tables in the corner in the front of the restaurant. We all ordered our food and once it came, he didn’t even wait or announce that our meat came and lifted the box up. My sister didn’t even get a video of the dry ice (honestly, reason she wanted to come). I’m not sure what the issue was on this day but the service was SO SLOW. The timing of our meat cooking was so off. We all got full and it took almost 2 hours, some people had to leave before our meat even finished cooking (we took our last meat to go). Our salad (my favorite) took FOREVER to come out. We kept asking for it and were told it’s on its way. Our party literally got the salad 3/4 way into our meal. It wasn’t that busy and there seemed to have been 2-3 servers. One other table got their salad as soon as their food came out. I was very confused. The white rice seemed old. My mon didn’t even touch it because she could tell by the color and smell. Usually, service is so good. The meats are grilled to perfection and timed well so we have no huge gaps. This was not the case. The guys looked like we were intruding on their day. They looked like they were in a bad mood and being forced to work. Really poor experience and hate that a meal was wasted here for my family who was visiting. Not sure if we will be back. _____________ Mun is a fairly new Korean BBQ steakhouse that opened in the heart of Koreatown! They are usually packed during the weekends but my bf and I visited on a Monday night and we were seated immediately. The interior is extremely spacious and they even have seating on the second floor,l overlooking the first floor. Their ventilation system is within the table itself, so there isn't an overhead vent like some KBbq restaurants. This helped the restaurant look spacious and clean and it was not smoky because the smoke gets sucked directly from the grill. (We did not walk out smelling like meat) MUN'S CHOICE $55/person *This included 4 meats: aged ribeye, wagyu chuck tail flap, prime hanging tender, and marinated boneless short rib. *Also included in this deal: bulgogi yuk Jeon, japchae, Mun stew, Mun's mushroom, and seasonal slush. All 4 of their meats were so juicy and tender but my favorite was the prime hanging tender. It was the juiciest and most flavorful. They cook it to your liking and all you have to do is eat! As you can tell from the picture, the quality of meat here is out of this world. It isn't your typical Korean bbq restaurant. The sides and extra dishes were delicious. We thought it wouldn't be enough food but they give you just the right amount for the party and we walked out so full. The customer service was exceptional and attentive. They continued to refill the side dishes that we finished. We will definitely be back when we want to splurge on kbbq.

Yelp
The best BBQ experience yet. And I may have tried a lot. Deborah Won was exceptional and the other waiter, (I'm so sorry, but I forgot his name) were excellent. I brought my family who flew in from France and this experience did not disappoint. The food was top notch and the environment private. I really liked how comfortable the seating was. My cocktail, the spicy margarita was on point. I'm looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Literally my new favorite place. I love the drinks because they are absolutely delicious. Not too sweet but still tasty. Get the beef belly!! It was so delicious. I also always get the kimchi pancake. Anything filled with mozzarella is for me. I like that they have packages as well as a la carte options. It's good for two people or a larger party. I always make a reservation so I'd recommend doing that. They also have a back patio where pets are allowed I think. It's a nice area. Parking is difficult but that's typical of the area. If it matters the meat also comes out on a nice platter with dry ice. It's very video worthy.

Yelp
We came here after hearing that ATEEZ and LE SSERAFIM had visited this spot, but unfortunately, the food and service was a huge letdown. The side dishes weren't very memorable, and the cuts of meat didn't really stand out. One of our party members said the dumplings tasted like the frozen ones from hmart. Another said the cucumbers in this naengmyeon are weird bc they were pickled. For the premium pricing, it tasted average at best. The ambiance was also really strange too. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, but the vibes and music were completely different between the two areas. What really made this a bad experience though was the service. Our server wasn't attentive at all and ended up overcooking and even burning some of our meat. It wasn't like the place was busy - it was actually pretty slow and she was actually only tending to our table and another table of one. At some point, she just started chatting with the other table, and leaving us hanging. I saw another review that said they were attended to nonstop by multiple servers - a different server came by ONCE but was never seen again. We ended up cooking the meat ourselves. Not a big deal to grill the meat on our own, but it left a terrible impression when the service was so inattentive, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy. Looking over the reviews, it seems like this place is pretty hit or miss, so I wouldn't recommend it. You can easily find the same/better quality of meat, consistency, and much better service for a fraction of the price just down the block in K-Town, so I wouldn't risk it based on our experience.

Yelp
to be completely honest, i came here after hearing this was ATEEZ's favorite restaurant in ktown. however, it exceeded my expectations! i'd recommend making a reservation, and be sure to arrive early as the parking ($5 flat rate) is a bit of a walk away. service - the servers cook the meat for you, and they are attentive to the tables. i liked how the menu was set so you know exactly what's coming next, and the entire meal ends up being around 90 minutes. they make sure to tell you that's all the time you get sooo don't be late ambiance - the restaurant is nice for a celebratory dinner and they have an outside dining area as well food - the meat was really good quality, and i think the MUN's Choice set menu is the perfect amount of food. i enjoyed the complimentary sides, and i especially loved the slush at the end

Yelp
This place is located across from the Hmart and next to Donut Ferry, super easy to find but parking can be a pain. I was lucky and able to find parking on the street. The service was soo good. We picked our meal choice, we went with the Mun Choice which is 60 per person. Comes with about 4 types of meats, all kinds of banchan sides that was oh so delicious. I didn't take much pictures, the food and the service was so amazing that it was such a great experience. Would love to come back out here any day. The meat was cooked in front of you and the guy (which i believe was the owner) would suggest what he would dip with and how to eat it. Every suggestion was amazing and the experience itself was intimate and very nice. really good korean spot to eat. You don't need all you can eat KBBQ if your eating quality meats and sides!

Yelp
We decided very late in the evening on Friday that we wanted KBBQ and the earliest reservation was 930pm. We were starving at 7pm so we figured maybe we'll just drop in and wait and pray for an opening. The guy that assisted with seating was the NICEST and told us if the current reservation was no-show then we can take their spot, and thank goodness they were no-shows! We were seated within minutes (didn't even have a chance to order drinks at the bar yet!). The food was AMAZING and the "chefs" were so quick at grilling everything and so nice. We sat outside and it was a bit chilly but there were heaters and I loved it because we did not smell like KBBQ when we got home. So lucky we got to try this place while we were in LA and I could not believe how amazing the food AND service was! Thank you!!

Yelp
Got the OMG set meal for four which is one of the higher tier options offered. It came with a variety of beef and pork, and the quality for each was definitely what I was looking for in a la carte bbq place. The side dishes and sauces were also quality and flavorful. Huge shoutout to all of the staff. Unlike other places where your table has a dedicated server and cook, we were attended to nonstop from multiple servers. Each one was able to pick up cooking from wherever the last one had left off. Biggest shoutout to our server Than for going above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Excellent service by Sam, super cool friendly guy and passionate for food, made the whole experience that much better. Got the omg set plus an egg souffle. Omg is right on those pork jowl and the beef belly crispy crunchy parts rare we get that at kbbq. Egg souffle out of this world! Had a super awesome time and will definitely be back. Premium Korean in Ktown, everything in Ktown is good but this place is a step above the rest.

Yelp
My first time at Mun BBQ was with my family, and it was such a fun experience! The place was packed, but even though we were seated upstairs, the service was fantastic. The staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The meat quality here is top-notch - tender, flavorful, and just melts in your mouth. Since that first visit, I've been back a few times because it's that good! I'm still looking forward to trying out the patio seating because it looks beautiful out there. Mun BBQ has become one of my go-to spots for KBBQ. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're a fan of quality Korean BBQ!

Yelp
4/5 Overall (3/5 food and 5/5 dog-friendly) For the price and taste, I thought this was your average k-town kbbq spot. The cuts really aren't premium enough to feel luxurious but you are still paying upwards of $160+ for a 4-person beef set which is on par with some other ayce options. The brisket was very thin and fatty -- skip. The prime rib eye didn't have a ton of marbling. The pork was juicy and thick. They do cook for you here and service was friendly but way understaffed on a Monday. The banchan was above average -- especially the japchae, onion soysauce pickles and cheese sauce. Some of the other combos include fried rice and ramen so maybe that was the way to go. No reservations for the patio. Note they use a table top flat top pan (like the kind you might have at home). Loved that you could bring your dog and the waiter gave a little dog treat. Beware of a long wait for groups bigger than 4.

Yelp
Wow!! This place is amazing and so delicious! They have very high quality meat and the ambiance in here is so nice! Perfect for date night and also a hangout with friends! They offer a wide selection of different types of meat and the service was awesome!!! Thank you for the great experience! I recommend this place to everyone! Will be back soon for the delicious food!

Yelp
Really nice selection Interesting dishes I've never had They had an onion mustard dish with crispy meat patties that was very tasty. The meat selection was top notch. I love that it's dog friendly with a nice patio. The owner was doing all the grilling and it was a nice for a change not to have to worry about cooking all the meat correctly... he did a fried rice at the end that was amazing. Worth the money, would love to come back. It is kind of expensive but really quite exceptional.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at mun Steak House! The variety of Korean BBQ and side dishes was delightful, and the atmosphere was bright and cheerful. The staff were incredibly sweet to my pup, which made our visit even more special. I would definitely love to have another date night

Yelp
The portions at the restaurant were quite generous, which was a plus. However, I found the quality of the meat to be lacking, especially considering the price point. It just didn't meet expectations for what you would anticipate at this type of establishment. Additionally, the service was frustratingly slow. We ended up waiting almost 30 minutes just to receive our check, despite asking multiple times for it. On the bright side, the ambiance was enjoyable, featuring a lively atmosphere with loud music that added to the overall vibe. One downside, though, was the absence of to-go boxes, which would have been helpful given the portion sizes. I also noticed an automatic 20% gratuity for parties of five, which felt a bit excessive given our experience. The standout dish of the evening was definitely the wagyu brisket; it was the highlight of our meal and was cooked to perfection. Overall, while there were some positives, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Yelp
It's safe to say that MUN is considered in the upper tier of kbbq restaurants in Ktown LA not only in terms of price, but also quality and taste. The meat truly shines. With a few drinks and ordering one of the combos for 2, the bill came out to be about $100 per person. Valet was $20. The staff grills the meat for you and we had some nice extra service as well. We sat inside on a winter LA day, but it honestly felt colder inside than outside. Not sure how warm it gets later into dinner service, but it was a tad excessive. While it didn't affect the meat coming right off the grill, everything else became cold quickly - namely the japchae and soup. The next experience at MUN will be the outdoor patio...

Yelp
My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday. We had dinner and the food was amazing. We got a packaged/coursed dinner and everything was delicious as well as filling. The presentation was nice and the servers were quick on cooking and making sure we weren't waiting too long in between meats. Don't let the portions fool you, it might not seem like a lot but it was make you full for sure! Also, for dessert they give out slushies - you have to ask for it or they won't give it to you. Ambiance was average, it was a weekend and somewhat busy. We loved the environment and the food, we will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Yelp
MUN Korean Steakhouse is hands down one of the best Korean BBQ spots in LA! From the moment you step in, the sleek and modern ambiance sets the tone for a refined dining experience. The quality of the meats is top-notch. You can really taste the premium quality, and the variety of marinades and sauces elevated every bite. The grilling experience at the table was fun but felt upscale at the same time. The banchan (side dishes) were just as impressive - fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each side dish complemented the main courses perfectly. The service was outstanding too. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure everything was cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a Korean BBQ experience that's a cut above the rest, MUN is the place to go.

Yelp
We wanted to like this place but the service was awful and the servers and host were ride beyond belief. We ended up leaving since they couldn't be bothered to serve us. What a waste of time.

Yelp
NEW FAVORITE KBBQ SPOT IN KTOWN! I had an amazing experience at Mun Patio Steakhouse in Ktown! The owner was incredibly welcoming and took the time to help me decide what to order by offering some delicious recommendations and pairings for the meat. One of the highlights was the suggestion to pair the perfectly cooked pork with bibim noodles, which added a refreshing and flavorful twist to the meal. The patio atmosphere was so chill and inviting--perfect for a relaxed dinner, especially at night when the lights above create a cozy ambiance. My absolute favorite was the Dontastic pork--super juicy and flavorful. The portion size said 2, but I wa s super full (I had 3 in my party) The whole experience felt personalized, and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
First time here and was blown away , by the food, and the royal service for our furry friends ! Only the 2nd time ever that I was told my dog could sit AT the table !! The prices were reasonable and the portions huge ! I plan on coming back for sure in the next 30 days !!

Yelp
Just dined at MUN Korean Steakhouse in Ktown and here's the lowdown: OMG Platter: We got the OMG platter, which was definitely a good amount of food for four people. The meat quality was solid--tender and well-seasoned, with that great Korean barbecue flavor. Pork was super fatty though :( The food was tasty and the experience was lively, but it was pretty pricey for what you get. It's a fun place for a special night out, but just be prepared for the high bill. If you're up for a splurge and enjoy Korean barbecue, it's worth checking out!

Yelp
Literally do not know what anyone else is raving about, nothing special about this place AT ALL. Even though it says they close at midnight, be prepared to get rushed out of this place if you come in at 10PM literally you are going to be ran out of this place without regard. We got a combo that came with 3 meats, they cooked it back-to-back without any regard to the phasing of how we are eating (meaning giving us quite literally 5 minutes to scarf any of the food down our throat). The ribeye went to waste, was cold and just sad. Food is just so basic, and the fact that we were rushed even though closing time is not till 2 hours later is just unacceptable in any hospitality terms. We did not enjoy anything because everything was cold and bland. I hate giving bad reviews but beware. Stew and potato salad was pretty good, but that was it.

Yelp
We came to Mun on a Saturday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had left a reservation around 3 weeks prior. Inside, the ambiance was nice and classy, but the table seats at the center are a bit weird. There are these huge black pillars that block your view from people sitting next to you so I couldn't really communicate with them even though they are right beside you. We were a group of 7 and ordered the Mun's choice, which is 60 bucks per person. Initially my thought was that it was going to be portioned out by the number of people on one platter but we got two platters with uneven portions of meat. As an example, the group of 4 ended up with 2 prime ribeyes and the group of 3 got 1 prime ribeye. The math was not adding up to us. The prime ribeye was really good but it was slightly burnt because the waiter was not around to flip it in time. I give it a (4.5/5). For the other meats, we proceeded to flip as needed. I'd say the prime hanging tender was pretty meh (3/5) and not too special really. The chucktail flap was good but the texture is not as good as compared to the prime ribeye (4/5). Marinated short ribs was savory and tender but nothing too special as well... (3.5/5). Most of the side dishes were good but the salad, man that was salty...(2/5). Our waiter was really nice but he seemed to be stretched thin on a busy night. They need to hire more, as customer service could've been better. We were full but the quality of the meat was lacking and did not meet my expectation. Overall 3.5 rounded up to 4.

Yelp
‼THIS PLACE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM MUN PATIO‼ I came and didn't realize until AFTER the fact that we ordered that they have a completely different menu for Mun patio. If you are at Mun Patio, you can order everything from the menu inside and out, but not vice versa. I love the spread of all the side dishes. Japchae was good, salad was good and potato salad was good. The stew, not so much. It tasted as if they tried combining kimchi stew and soybean stew which are two different things? I don't know, just tasted odd. and they charge you for rice btw!! They cook the meat for you, but look at the pictures. Came on a monday night at 8:30PM so it wasn't even that busy. But servers aren't that attentive and it lowkey burnt. It doesn't look like a lot of meat, but because you eat slower here than at ayce and they give you a lot of side dishes, you definitely do come out full. But the quality of the beef brisket..? Tell me why it was all fat and looked like that..? I did like their marinated beef. The beef tartare was also not bad, but on the menu, it does say there is asian pear with it, but there wasn't. Usually in korean beef tartare, the pear helps balance it out and makes the dish better. Instead it was paired with oily rice crisps. It's not that it tasted bad, just could've aligned with the description on their menu better so I knew before ordering. Maybe my standards for this place was just high, but I wouldn't go for this menu at this place again. If you want this level of service and this quality of meat, skip this place. I feel like an all you can eat place can do just this, if not better.

Yelp
MUN is located right in the center of Koreatown and remains a popular kbbq place that offers indoor and outdoor seating. If you want indoor seating, I do recommend making a reservation (available through Yelp), and if you prefer outdoor, you can just do a walk in. Parking in this area is notoriously difficult; if you're lucky there is metered street parking on the same block (check parking restrictions) and there is also free street parking if open on the adjacent side streets. Side dishes include soybean stew, seasoned lettuce, japchae, potatoes, kimchi, fermented cabbage (not kimchi), sauces for the meat. These are also served after you order and come super fresh, I particularly like the potatoes and soybean stew. Agua fresca mojito 5/5, tastes cucumbery and I've ordered this every time I've come, definitely a solid choice Honey mule cocktail 4.5/5, my friends love this but it is stronger than the Agua Fresca (or at least tastes stronger) so be aware Date night 4/5, I really enjoy the second and third meat options with the first being a simple beef belly. This is noted as serving two, if you order a side dish like we have below, you will have enough for 3. Kimchi bomb rice 5/5, this is one of the dishes I crave when I leave LA. Very well seasoned, I enjoy the egg and beef they add to this as well. Service is always polite, I have never had any issues with that. After you pay, they give you a free little dessert that's a small flavored slushy in a cup! We've had a rice flavored one and a pink lemonade one in the past.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday dinner and after wanting to come here for a while, we found that it lived up the the hype. OMG Set (serves 4 people) - About $200 total, I would say that this set can also feed up to a group of 5 people as well. My favorites were the beef belly, ribeye, pork belly, and pork jowl. They were the most tender and flavorful out of the rest which were a little more chewier than preferred. All of the banchan are also refillable and were really flavorful like the salad and mash potatoes. Kimchi Fried Rice 4/5 - Also really good but nothing crazy special. I do like that they also added meat chunks in it that were super tender and delicious. Service was super attentive and friendly. There were times that they forgot a couple of things, but overall still good experience. Ultimately, I would come back here again to celebrate a friends birthday or for another special occasion.

Yelp
I've had this bookmarked for a long time and I finally had the chance to come here to celebrate my dad's birthday. The entrance is a bit confusing because there's not really a host waiting to seat you. However, the ambiance and vibe of the whole restaurant was so nice. We ordered the "OMG" set which came with a variety of different meats. My favorite was definitely the beef belly. Super tender and so delicious. Our server, Tam, was excellent with cooking our meats to the perfect temperature and checked up on us to make sure we had everything we wanted/needed. Will definitely be coming back here!

Yelp
Sooo good and filling! My friends and I (total 3) ordered the date night set, the tartare, and steamed egg and we were so so full by the end of the meal. I would definitely suggest coming here on an empty stomach or try not to eat with your eyes haha. We made a reservation which I recommend since the restaurant was busy. Parking was pretty hard to find so make sure you reserve enough time for that. One thing I would say is the AC was blaaaasting we were so cold, so bring a jacket! It could've also been the area we were sitting at Food was good and service was good, I would definitely come again.

Yelp
Mun is the hot KBBQ right now for sure. I've been going since they opened way back in 2021 and I'm happy to see them surviving and thriving years later! And now with a special MUN Patio, too?! Let's go! MUN takes reservations which is just a blessing in KTown. For that reason alone, I find myself taking people here all the time. But don't let me let you think that's it... Every time I've been, service has been stellar. Staff is super helpful, everything cooked for you, everyone is always really nice there. Drinkwise, they have all the usual liqs but don't sleep on their mocktails. They actually are aesthetically pretty and taste great, too. I really like their japchae and legit, I could just eat them glass noodles all day. Overall, their banchans are solid, I think their potato salad is pretty fire. Meatwise, I've had the whole menu and I'm happy with the quality and portions for the prices. Pork Belly and Kalbi are always my favorites though and they're both great here. For me, Mun is top 3 KBBQs in LA. Yah I said it!

Yelp
Although our server was very nice and kind, Mun steakhouse fell short of our expectations. The food didn't live up to expectations especially the ribeye. It was really tough and we had to get a second one ordered. Even then I could've went to Costco and the quality of the beef would've been better. The music was super loud and I was unable to hear other people speak. Honestly for $100 combo, I think you would find better value and taste at any KBBQ joints such as Parks or Aghassi. Don't think we'd be back. The sides were okay, the stew that they gave us was decent and the cold noodles were good. A bit disappointed as we celebrated a birthday as well.

Yelp
MUN has a great atmosphere with fancy style service. Food was absolutely amazing. Meat was tender and fresh. The price is fairly expensive compared to AYCE The presentation of the dishes was appealing with dry ice. I recommend trying to get an idea of a top notch restaurant

Yelp
So, here we go! Again, when in LA, you should indeed give this place a go! It can be a bit difficult finding your way in, but once you do, it's a damn party! You have a choice between indoor or outdoor seating, which is great. The servers also coock and cut your meat, which makes it that much easier to enjoy the experience. You can select between several different cuts of meat and vegetables. We started with drinks, and they were very well made, I went with Mun's Fashion, which is a barrel aged Whistle Pig, and they make it strong like it should be but well balanced. We elected to go with one of the prefixes in order to get a taste of everything. I can say that all of the meats were prepared very well and the accompanying sauces and dips were perfect. Everyone left fully satisfied. Pro tip- make reservations in advance as they fill up pretty fast. Also, be prepared to speak loudly as this place is loud! We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
I don't like all the black decor. But the people are nice and the food quality fine. Parking is annoying but that's ktown. Pricing is typical, not great.

Yelp
Everything here was delicious! My friend and i got the Muns choice set and everything that came with it was so good. Usually when I got to KBBQ I only est one or two of the banchans and skip out on the rest cause not all of the banchans are always good but at this place EVERYTHING on the table was good and perfectly seasoned. The staff cooks your meat here for you and also guide you on what sauces and salts pair well with the meat. The staff here were all very helpful and attentive! My favorite cut was their prime hanging tender and I enjoyed it with their purple salt! Somehow that cut got even more tender the longer I let it sit LOL The set I ordered also came with japchae, cheese fondue, soybean paste stew, and a small frozen slushie at the end of the meal. All that was perfect for just two people. They also have a little ramen bar here to enjoy after your meal for an additional $6 (per bowl). For $6 I could've gone without it but it really hit the spot since we were sitting outside.

Yelp
went for a friend's birthday on a saturday night. this place is always packed so make a reservation. reservation for indoor is only available, walk in only for patio ~Food~ kimchi bomb rice: amazing! i love how sour the kimchi is and the runny egg goes perfectly with the rice we got the omg combo that includes beef belly, rib eye, hanging tender, short ribs, pork belly and pork jowl. i loved every single round but especially loved the rib eye. the thick meat was so juicy and tender, it went well with the jalapeño and onion sauce we also ordered the naengmyun but the server forgot. but by the time we realized, we were too full to order ~Service: quick and attentive. they cooked the meat really well and made sure to check in on us frequently ~Cost: $$$ standard a la carte kbbq pricing (~$60/pp) ~Parking: $5 parking at night on 620 mariposa ave

Yelp
Came here for the date night set and add the spicy beef bulgogi on. Good was amazing and banchan was very tasty. Bummer they don't refill the soup but otherwise it was great. Service was quick, nice and very attentive. Definitely one of the better places to go for kbbq

Yelp
Our reservation was at 7:30 on a Friday. Because parking at the structure (suggested by the reviews) took longer than expected, we arrived at 7:50 and they told us they can't seat us bc we won't have the entire 90 minutes. They told us we only will have an hour to eat and will give us the bill at 8:50 pm. We were fine with that so they seated us right away upstairs. Tbh it was enough time lol. Lesson learned, give at least 15 mins extra for parking if you're going to the garage across the street (next to the hmart one). Not taking any stars off for this because it's not smth either party could really control. On to the food - We ordered the Mun special $60 for each of us (total 3). Meal started off great w the sides. Steamed egg was so fluffy and had gooey cheese! The bulgogi yuk jeon was my favorite with the mustard onion salad. Yum! Unfortunately this is where I withdraw 2 stars - the meat quality was not up to par. Meat was really tough and even though we had our waiter cook for us. We were pretty underwhelmed by the flavor too. The Kimchi jigae was pretty bland too. For the hype, I do not agree and would go back to King Chang for their high meat quality. Overall besides the experience of being rushed, I felt really disappointed by the quality of meat. I feel that's what ppl pay for and it wasn't worth it for us. Bonus story: I made a dinner reservation another time ago and they called me the day of that they double booked and wanted me to move my time from 7:30 to 8:30pm. We couldn't do that bc we had other things scheduled so we decided to go to King Chang as they had an availability at 7:30pm.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner last night. This was my first time here and I've been wanting to try this place. But in my honest opinion I would say it was a little underwhelming. The quality of meat was really good but I also think you can get that quality anywhere in koreatown these days. And most of the meat we ate had a gas after taste. So either the meat was being cooked too fast or the vents weren't working. But I'm fine with that. But the thing that was disappointing was that, for the price I'm paying, why am I cooking my own food? Yes the staff did their best but there were some time where we manned the grill ourselves. - again, no different than any Korean bbq down the street or around the corner. Overall, I'd say it's good to try this place once and that's about it.

Yelp
Mun Korean Steakhouse is one of the best Korean bbq spots I've been to in Ktown. You can really taste the quality of the meat and the aesthetics of the restaurant makes it stand out from its competitors Customer service here is top notch as the servers also cook for you You know a restaurant is the place to be when celebrities come to eat there. During my dinner, I saw Kpop group Le Sserafim! 100% recommend checking them out when you're in the area!

Yelp
MUN Korean Steakhouse is an upscale Korean bbq restaurant located in K-town. It's slightly hidden but the inside is very luxuries with 2 floors. You can make reservations ahead of time or walk-in. They have a restroom available, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, but hard to find parking. They're à la carte and on the expensive side. The waiters were helpful but a bit off-putting; since we go to less fancier kbbq places, we didn't expect some items not to be available and the service was just a bit rude I guess. Overall, ambiance was great and service was okay. Food We ordered the Date Night for $100. The portion is made for 2 but is still kind of small. The meat itself was great quality and the waiters cooked it perfectly. The side dishes were also tasty and in large portions. Overall, the food was great but on the more expensive side. Overall: 4.2 The ambiance + service: 4/5 The food: 4.5/5 The price: $$$

Yelp
was able to make a last minute reservation when calling them! it's a pretty small location, dark ambience, pretty nice for date night or just a nice dinner with some friends! The place was well decorated and aesthetically pleasing. Our server Nicole was the sweetest and so easy to talk to! The banchans and appetizers were (mostly) refillable and came in bigger portion sizes than normal Korean bbq restaurants and they were all so good! this is not ayce kbbq, so they cook for you which is nice imo! I enjoyed all of the meats in our feast and omg sets! It was pretty hard to choose a favorite because the meat just kept getting better and better!  I would recommend MUN over AB steak if you're looking for a nice kbbq restaurant to try out!   - feast set - omg set - bulgogi fried rice - japchae - kimchi cheese pancake

Yelp
Food: 3.5 stars Service: 4 stars Ambiance: 3 stars (upstairs) Made reservation for 3 on Friday night, and we were seated upstairs. Not sure if upstairs is for reservation, but I like downstairs' Ambiance better. I guess if u prefer more private, brighter, and less noisy atmosphere, u would like upstairs better. We ordered three $60 per person Mun's Chef, and overall, it was pricey for the amount. It seemed our grill wasn't working well since, at one point, the fire was really low and weak that meat was getting dried on the grill. We were too busy talking, so didn't pay much attention to our food and service. I came here once about 2 years ago and ordered the same. at that time, I enjoyed their quality meat (still small portion), but this time, wasn't the same experience. I like their Mun Patio better.

Yelp
We made reservation a few days in advance and were seated right away upon arrival. The place is nice and empty, we were served with fresh ice cold water immediately. There were 4 of us so we went with the OMG set menu. The beef was good but nothing of extraordinary, and personally I really don't like the pork because the pork belly especially tasted weird. The japchae, salad, and stew were tasty and quite yummy. I wouldn't come back any time soon because there are so many better kbbq place in LA, the dining room is great though. Their exhaust system is very good, no smoke and no smell on my hair after cooking all that stuff in front of me

Yelp
Solid spot for a high quality kbbq meal. My group had a reservation so we were seated immediately. We did the $60/pp combo which has 4 types of meat and assorted side dishes. Our order came promptly with my favorites being the short rib, potato salad, stew, and bulgogi yukjeon. I honestly couldn't tell between the other three meats, but they were very good. The menu also offered entrees and appetizers, but for a group of 5, the combo we ordered was more than enough leaving some sides unfinished. I've had my fair share of premium kbbq and Mun delivered. Will be back for more!

Yelp
My new favorite KBBQ spot! The outdoor patio is beautiful & great set up. No reservations for the outside but would definitely recommend getting reservations if you want to sit inside. We got there right at 5pm opening and were seated without a wait but it was pretty much packed by 5:30. My first visit my husband & I got the Date Night & then when we came back with friends we got the spread that feeds 3 and added on the kimchee cheese pancake and brisket. Perfect portions, perfectly cooked table side by the staff. Seriously, no notes. Can't wait to come back to try more!

Yelp
A fancy-ish Korean bbq dining experience. They have a full bar and lots of cocktail options along with outdoor seating. We had the non marinated short rib and pork belly - so good! Their kimichi is bomb!! The best on the grill with the pork. The service was great - refilled the side dishes and grilled everything to our liking. Very good be keep in mind it's a little pricier than other traditional bbq locations.

Yelp
I have deleted and rewritten some good reviews from my previous visit. During this visit, Michael was a customer service person who had no training at all. Can't even speak? How can I leave a customer at my door for 10 minutes and then sit down at the bar with the rest of the staff and have a chat? They told me to wait if they didn't come, or there was a waiting chair next door. I was only able to sit in the waiting chair when another member of my group came along. When it opened, the service and the food quality were good, which is a shame. The standards are so low that I won't be visiting anymore. There are so many restaurants in Koreatown serving Korean food at this level! But I don't want to go to those restaurants for that service.

Yelp
This is a great spot when you want elevated KBBQ! You can tell the meat quality was a cut above and all the banchan was fresh and tasty. Service: attentive, fast, friendly, described the dishes and cooked our meat perfectly medium-rare. Food: THERE IS SO MUCH FOOD, I will detail our order below and note we're a group of 2 and we ate probably 1/3 of the total food on the table. - Mun's Choice * fantastic for beef lovers, you definitely get enough beef to share, the cuts were thicker than AYCE KBBQ spots and you could taste the quality. Also to note, the meat wasn't over-seasoned or salted, you truly just taste the beef. - Truffled Shrimp * very tasty, nice break from the beef, maybe too much lemon on top - Kimchi Bomb Rice * a huge portion of rice with ribeye and a fried egg on top, very good just a lot - Steamed Egg * cooked perfectly, I believe there was cheese in it as well - Banchan Dishes * all very light and refreshing, the Mun Stew was a nice addition Atmosphere: cool decor and dark interior, my only recommendation is that we sat on the 2nd floor that had a very low ceiling and when you're cooking, smoke rises so we were very stuffy by the time we left - would definitely prefer to sit on the main level. All said, would definitely return!

Yelp
The service was top notch. Every few minutes a server would come by to flip the meat and determine if it was done or not. At first it seemed a little disorganized but I was able to tell when the meat was going to be done cooking and they served it at the right time. The banchan was super good, honestly probably the best I've had at a Korean bbq restaurant. I liked the presentation of the muns choice selection and I think that it would've been enough for the both of us with the amount of banchan we had. The pork belly didn't seem that worth it to me. It wasn't very fatty so the pieces didn't render down on the grill. It also took longer to cook because it was all just meat and I've had better before. I think the muns choice would be worth it but maybe not the pork belly.
