"Even though Skyler Tanksley co-owns both Naughty Vegan Panda and Munchies Diner, the only thing the two restaurants have in common is plant-based food. Munchies Diner is located in Santa Ana and was named after stoner food which, for him, looks like a fusion of American and Mexican cuisines. At Munchies, the menu consists of food Tanksley grew up eating with his friends, but with a twist, including dishes like the VcGriddle, chicken and waffles, Big Munch burgers, supreme nacho towers, specialty milkshakes, and VcFlurrys. A round of applause for the clever play on words. I’ve been spoiled with some of the best breakfast burritos in California and will still always opt for Sky’s giant breakfast burrito here, which is loaded with bacon, chorizo, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, salsa verde, and is available all day every day." - esther cho, with warm welcome

Let me say best vegan food I had the service is quick. Different environment. Chill atmosphere. Expect this place to get busy cause the wait is worth the wait. The tacos to the burgers bomb. Chicken pesto was also amazing. The breakfast burger taste like an actual burger with eggs. The mozzarella sticks were good different but it’s good. Spent about 60$ cause were fat but def worth the trip. The place is clean and the team works extra hard if your in the area you gotta stop by my stomach is still growling writing this I just wanna go back to order more food lol Update their breakfast burger and burger is so standard what happened to the original patty was so disappointed hyped my best friend up having only a veggie patty nothing exciting there but the vegan in and out fries god I could not stop eating lol worth it

Stopped in two weeks ago for milkshakes (1/26/21). BEST I EVER HAD! Went back again yesterday (2/10/21) for dine in lunch and had the western burger and 'human' fries, cousin had the Cali fries. We both had shakes WILD STYLE 😋 Great portions. Awesome vibe. Dinner (2/11/21) Patty melts, lemon pepper cauliflower wings and asada tacos.

Munchies is the best! I love that they have a full menu of vegan options! You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner & they stay open late so you have a healthy late night option. We’ve tried a lot of the items & they are all good & you can’t tell the difference in some dishes. The mozzarella sticks taste like real mozzarella sticks, it’s pretty mind blowing. They use chickpea for the tuna melt & it’s delicious like the real deal! Their patty melt is soooo good too! They also have milk shakes that are a must get whenever you go! Classic diner vibes with a healthy menu!

When ordering the cashier seemed confused and annoyed at me for my order. After about 10 minutes trying to place an order and telling me the items I ordered, she couldn't find in the kiosk/computer. I end up changing my order because she claimed it wasn't on the menu. As for the food, it was presented decently but flavor wise it just wasn't at all what it looked like or as described in the menu. The taste was very bland for the most part. For context, I order a Chicken Bacon Ranch texture was fine but didn't taste any flavors. My girlfriend ordered Jalapeños Burger and the jalapeños were raw and wasn't sautéed with the burger or cheese. The buns/bread were burnt, dry and hard. They both came with a side of fries. The fries themselves were lacking in the flavor department as well, cold hard cardboard if I needed to describe them. Asthetics wise... the walls looks horrible and wasn't a good look for when dining. It would make us cringe as did the "music" playing, it was a instrumental playlist... at one moment it sounded like I was gearing up for a battle and as the list went on it sounded like I was exploring space. Lastly, the flies were extra annoying several were around as soon as we sat down could only imagine the kitchen...

Great experience eating here for the first time. The food is super well executed. Very flavorful and hits the spot when you're really hungry. Cheese fries were amazing and so was the chicken sandwich. Love that everything here is vegan. While not a vegan myself I do enjoy the food at these types of places. So well done and thanks to the staff for being so helpful.

This place is a true diner, lots of options and super greasy. The vcmuffin is so bomb and I appreciate the gluten free option. The strawberry cheesecake vcflurry is insane. Their website has been broken for some time so it’s very difficult to find the gluten free options or the menu in general due to this. I’ve had to call a few times. The food is very heavy just as a warning. But it’s truly delightful and a must if you are looking to chow down.

Incredible authentic diner in downtown Santa Ana. Best part, 100% vegan. There wasn't a thing on the menu I wouldn't love to try. I think the pictures say more than my words.
