I can’t say enough about the staff. The property is beautiful, but the people really went above and beyond. My luggage was left at my connection and had to be delivered, they went outside to try to run down the truck based on my AirTag location (literally ran) when I waited longer than expected. By no means, was the luggage situation their responsibility, but that did not matter. Absolutely, outstanding stay.

Impeccable service, beautiful clean rooms, top quality breakfast and an excellent location. Every staff member from front desk to restaurant was attentive and helpful.

The room was spacious and quiet, the garden was elegant, and the location was perfect. Listening to birds on the balcony drinking % coffee, and taking a walk across the railroad at dawn on the bamboo forest path became unforgettable memories for us.|I would like to thank the kind staff and the beautiful gift. We definitely want to go back in the near future - maybe during the fall foliage season:)

Obviously this hotel’s owners couldn’t decide whether this place should be a Michelin starred restaurant or a hotel or both?… ||The air conditioning system works with a noise and it is impossible to shut it down completely from your room.||The breakfast finishes at 9:30 sharp, if you arrive there by 9:25 you will be exposed to the angry frowns of the personnel which is something extremely rarely happens in japan normally.||Noise isolation is very insufficient so much so that you can easily hear your neighbour’s door lock signal.||This “design hotel” pleasant have a reasonably sized open lounge to relax and to take a drink, and you cannot eat anything after certain hours if you do not choose to use their Michelin starred expensive restaurant.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. This hotel is NOT worth the money. My wife and I did a 3 week trip in Japan for our honeymoon and the only bad experience we had in Japan with our bookings was this hotel. We decided to book one night here and were really looking forward to it. Seeing as it was one of the more expensive bookings we had made, we wanted to take advantage of the hotel while there. Unfortunately my wife who suffers from back issues was going through a back crisis at the time we arrived. She couldn't really walk at all so we wanted to go to the hotel restaurant for dinner. However the restaurant was closed and they had not given us any notice before our check-in date. The lounge area was also closed, there was no room service or any sort of food service at all. The staff was not helpful in the slightest and didn't see any issue with the fact that the hotel we spent the most on offered almost nothing when it comes to actual hospitality or service. I ended up having to go find street food (which was pretty delicious) and bring it back to my wife in the room since she couldn't walk.|The room was obviously beautiful and the view of the mountain is really nice. But in all honesty you don't get your money's worth AT ALL. Save yourself the money and you can just do breakfast at the restaurant (if it's open) and stay somewhere else for the night.||In fact after our experience we were supposed to spend three nights at a luxury hotel in Hakone by the same owner and we went online to do more research because we were so appalled by our stay. We then see that they put a notice on the site that there was going to be construction the entire time we would be there but hadn't sent us an email. We promptly cancelled and booked an airbnb with a beautiful view and private onsen and saved ourselves over $1,000.||TLDR: Not worth the amount you pay. Terrible service, hardly any amenities.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here! The staff team was amazing - they went above and beyond to assist. The hotel offered a variety of cultural experiences and the staff team was extremely helpful to help us plan these activities even before we arrived and arranged translations during these sessions. The food, the room, the location and the view were impeccable. We will definitely come back.

Hidden gem. Highly recommend. Sweet point with mind-blowing desserts, located just around the corner, very close to some popular coffee shops, so it is perfect for those who would love to combine coffee and tasty desserts. We tried chocolate tart, and we're not expecting to find it so complex and soooooooo good. Try it now

We originally booked 1 night here, but we loved it so much that we left our second (more expensive hotel) and insisted to move back for a second night! This was our favorite hotel that we’ve stayed in Japan. Everything from the design, service, room, location and food were outstanding. The room is huge and, on the second floor, has the calming sounds of the water feature as well as views of the river. The bed is massive, the design throughout has a quiet elegance. The breakfast was extremely high quality. My only quibble is I felt the coffee could be a bit better. All of the staff we encountered, from reception to the cocktail hour and the breakfast, were so warm and welcoming. We felt very comfortable here. Would happily stay again and again!
