San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings

"Murales Wine Bar and Tapas is a small wine bar in the Mission serving tapas (of course) like chicken empanadas, pesto bruschetta, and ceviche. Diners can sit along a walnut bar under flashing disco lights while admiring a mural of Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Lady Liberty. " - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1

Just had an amazing time here! We had empanadas, ceviche, and nachos and a few drinks all off of the happy hour menu. Price was right, service was really nice, and food was tasty- would order all of it again! A soccer game was on and the vibe was excellent- excited to come back again soon!!

Came here as part of a mission street adventure. Drinks and food were excellent. They even gave us free cookies and a new cocktail that was to join the menu the following week. 10 stars for the service! Highly recommend.

Google
Amazing food - had the beef empanadas and the soup of the day was Pozole. I am from the land where great pozole is made (Michoacán) and let me say this was the next best thing than me making it at home. Great Mexican wine selection from Guanajuato and Querétaro. To top it off, outstanding service by the amazing bartender Nicolas, definitely found a new weekly hangout!

Stumbled on this place during happy hour and we loved it! They have a nice selection of Mexican wines, delicious tapas style food and all for a reasonable price. The empanadas are a must have. Will definitely be coming back!

Decided to try our new neighborhood wine bar last night. I absolutely LOVED this place! The servers were great & knew their stuff. Offered new cocktails that weren't on the menu yet. Tried 2 different ceviche/crudo dishes & the beet salad. Chips with 2 different salsas--- never had salsas as original as these. A must try! Everything was excellent. Though I played it safe with ordering a sauvignon blanc it was so pleasant, I didn't bother switching to one of their more interesting sounding wines for my 2nd glass. I will be going there again to try more wines & another ceviche!

What a great addition to the Mission. The service is fantastic; the staff are very nice and friendly and I love the small business vibes it gives. They have a great selection of Mexican wines, sangrias and delicious cocktails (looking at you spicy Margarita 😉). The food is on point; the queso fundido and the empanadas are a must. I love the ambiance too; they hang really cool art throughout the venue and makes the place feel very much like a gallery turned cocktail bar.

It was great to sample wines from around Latin America. There are some great finds. They've also made a really cozy place. The former place was nice, but this is perfect. I do miss the old apps they had here in the former business. I had a very nice bruschetta tho. This service is really responsive, patient and courteous. Will be back. They need more Valley de Guadalupe wines and they'll be set.

Yelp
MURALES WINE BAR in San Francisco is a great spot to kick off your evening. The drinks are delicious (their sangria is an absolute must-try). The empanadas and bruschetta are flavorful and perfectly satisfying. The vibe is elevated by great music, making it a fun and lively place to stop by before dinner. Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is great! It's a small place but they had seatings on the first floor and in the back on the second floor. It's a perfect date spot. The service was great, we got seated quickly and were given water. The only down side was they were out of a couple of main drinks, like the lychee sangria or even the margaritas. Which was a bit strange to me especially at a tapas place. They don't have a liquor license so they can't serve hard liquor. For food they don't have much options but the queso was good and filling. And the servers were so kind and attentive so I really appreciated that.

Yelp
Walk pass upon our way to the restaurant on the corner of 18th and Mission! The impression and the vibe just called my name that i needed to try since we're early for our dinner reservation! We asked the girl at the bar what's she's drinking and just sounds good to me so I ordered what she has! Love the a little kick of the jalapeño and fresh cucumber not overt sweet and a nice tart so I ended having 2 of this

Yelp
I have been looking forward to Murales opening up on the corner spot which has sat vacant for a few years. I really enjoyed the spicy margarita and sangria and the food was great as well. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
New Tapas Bar in Mission District that showcase different nice Murals with great latin music. Service is great and drinks were good! Check out the sparkling lychee Sangria and rojo sangria both my fave! Yummy Chicken Empanadas and pesto bruschetta. Come check this place out!

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! Brand new! Perfect location, on the corner of 18th and Mission Street. Hector is amazing. The ambiance is great! Drinks are amazing (Al pastor Margarita, sparking Sangría) food is delicious! Had their ceviche, pastelito de choclo. Amazing. Check them out!

Yelp
The drinks are unique and the service is spectacular. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this place.

Yelp
service was top tier but menu and drinks fell a little flat. Sangria and ceviche set me back $40

Yelp
Murales is such a great addition to the neighborhood! Casual and unpretentious. It's basically a wine bar but the have draft beer and some cocktails but owner Hector is from Mexico and is featuring several wines from Mexico, from relatively known wine regions like Baja, but also Guanajuato and Queretero, which I really appreciate. For people who like wine, this is a perfect place to enjoy wine w/out all the stuffy, snobby attitude. Food is very good, mostly Mexican small plates like empanadas and queso fundido, salads etc but all created by someone who definitely knows about food esp Mexican food which pair perfectly w the Mexican wines! (Although I would recommend serving tortillas with the queso fundido and the pozole rather than corn chips). The place is not huge but there's space upstairs. They also support local artist and display their work. Muralist Nathan Gomez painted the Murals outside on 18th St and the Mural inside above the doorway. The Staff has been great esp Hector but also Tonantzin, Nicolas, and Julio and Carlos. I hope people will go check it out and try Mexican wines!

Yelp
Great food, drinks and service! The ceviche and sangria was amazing. I'll definitely be going again soon!
