Fantastic experience. Ricky the server was excellent. Food delicious. Must try are the mixed drinks. Atmosphere is not traditional Spanish but more trendy and upscale.

Our waitress Jessica was amazing! She gave us helpful feedback on different food to order and helped me remake a beverage that was taken off of the menu! It was delicious with the slight changes( and I’m not a drinker and got multiples), Jessica made sure my birthday meal was good and she was very professionally friendly and made my group feel welcomed and that she would take care of us! I had an amazing time because of Jessica from Jersey! Thank you!

Muraya has a fun vibe and a nice setup-great for a casual and fine dine kinda hangout. We ordered one dish from every section-ceviches, sushi, and tapas. The sushi (Baru) was the highlight, fresh and well-made. The tapas (Pollo Callejero) was decent, but the ceviches were a letdown-dry and didn't taste fresh. Overall, the experience was okay, but the food felt more like a 3 out of 5. Good atmosphere, but there's definitely room for improvement on the food side. Just a heads up: they don't validate parking.

Google
Food and drinks were super delicious. Interior vibes/decor are well done. We came for the Wednesday sushi special.. had the steak sushi and it was phenomenal and obviously reasonably priced at 1/2 off. The chicken pollo dish was better than I expected: perfectly cooked and the rice was seasoned perfectly. The espresso martini also was one of the good ones (if you know, you know). Ricky, our server, was kind and personable. We assured him we would be back!

Google
Ricky was an amazing server, he was really nice and attentive from beginning to end! The food was the best and Ricky took the time to explain the little details and the meaning of the three coffee grains in our coffee. It was my husband’s birthday and the happy birthday was the best and so much fun. It was an amazing experience, can’t wait to be back!

Google
It was our first time there and what an OUTSTANDING dinner we had! Truly. Our server, Jessica, was awesome and took great care of us! The manager, Alex, also came to our table more than once, and the two of them just made the whole experience feel really high-end and "top notch" yet personable at the same time. As for the food? WOW! So incredibly flavorful and creative! Every single dish (and there were many!) came out looking and tasting AMAZING! Not joking...we really tasted some fantastic and creative flavors, along with traditional dishes, that were just off the charts! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great dinner with a great vibe!

We reserved a table for Charlotte restaurant week which was mentioning „This restaurant's hours during Queen's Feast will be Tuesday-Thursday 5-10pm; Friday 5pm-12am; Saturday 11am-12am; Sunday 11am-10pm; Monday closed“. However, they did not participate before dinner. As we arrived with a reservation we still had to wait for a table and we waited over an hour for our food. Our server was very friendly and apologized. During our waiting time a photographer asked if we wanted a picture and I was yes sure that’s a nice idea because we have waited so long but after she came back she wanted to charge $20 per picture. We also paid $5 per hour for parking on top. The food was good and a decent size however, I was disappointed by the overall experience.

We celebrated our friend’s birthday and everything was delicious! Ricky made our experience one to remember. The hostess even took multiple photos of our group and we were grateful. The live music is excellent and the music in between is also great! Recommend the Arroz con Pollo and the salmon. The fried rice was also tasty. Cocktails are excellent.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the overall dining experience. The food was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and she made sure our overall experience was pleasant. The brunch menu had just enough options so it wasn't overwhelming. Also the band was incredible! The only downside was the hostess experience. The young lady acting as hostess was not very communicative. She took my name and really didn't give clear instructions or expectations and walked away. I had to return to the desk to get clarification from the gentleman that was working. Considering it was very busy and people were everywhere, clarity is extremely important. Fortunately this did not put a damper on the whole experience. I look forward to exploring the dinner options!

Yelp
Brunch at Muraya did not disappoint. We came in for brunch and left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and impressively fast--even during the weekend rush. I ordered the steak and eggs--cooked perfectly medium and well-seasoned. A satisfying, hearty plate done right. The kids shared the pistachio blueberry shortbread pancakes, which were indulgent without being overly sweet. Big enough for them to split and still leave leftovers. My wife had the arroz con pollo. It took a little longer to arrive, but the flavors were well worth the wait--rich, comforting, and generously portioned. Coffee and other drinks hit the spot, too. Definitely worth the drive out. Be warned--it gets crowded and can get a bit loud, but that's just a sign of a place people really love.

Yelp
Below mid at best. 3/10 food and service Spend your money @ better places Could be better

Yelp
Hmmmm... this was so disappointing. We had such high hopes based on other reviews but the authenticity of the food is subpar. Starting with the good, the ambience is exquisite; moody, well decorated, clean and cozy. Service; friendly and attentive. The bad: You have to make reservations despite having a half empty restaurant... huh? Do you want to take my money or no? We saw so many people walking out while so many tables were empty! Food: we ordered a "Calentado Criollo" for $23 and it was the blandest of Colombian foods I've ever had. The only positive in the plate was the chicharron. They offered no salsas (a staple in Colombian food) and 75% of the plate was made up of rice (the cheapest side dish in the restaurant industry). We also had the "Pistachio Shortcake Pancakes" for $20 and this was much better, although not Colombian at all. Despite being better than the calentado criollo, you can definitely find better specialty pancakes than these for a much better price. The drinks: we had the Dulce de Leche Cappuccino and the Brown Sugar Shaken Expresso. Both were good but overpriced. Overall we would recommend a number of other places in Charlotte that offer much more authentic Colombian food for a fraction of the price but not as Instagram ready as this one. If what you are looking for is good Colombian food, this is not it. If what you like is going to and posting esthetically pleasing restaurants then this will do just that.

Yelp
I can't wait to come back here again! We had such a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in it was amazing. We went to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and had such a great time. I would definitely recommend not only making a reservation but going earlier because in the evening it fills up quick once the music starts. I loved how everyone including the manager dropped by to check on us. I wasn't a fan of the salmon taquitos only because I was hoping some parts would be warm and it's mainly a cold dish. On top of that all the sauces was just a bit of an overload for me. However everything else was sooooo good especially the Barranquillero and Pulpo Cartagenero. At first I was hesitant with giving feedback on the salmon taquitos when the manager dropped by, but I appreciated how understanding he was and his openness to how to improve on certain dishes. We can't wait to come back and try more soon!

Yelp
Came here on Valentine's Day and can't wait to come back on a non holiday. Everything was amazing! Feedback from me & my Colombian husband: we wouldn't hate seeing some dishes without the fusion or upscale tick in every aspect. I'd prefer the small plates to be a smaller portion and cheaper - so we could order more and try more things, but the portion sizes were larger & therefore the cost not making that feasible. Empanadas were okay and just too big. What we loved: I lovedddd the pork chop, my drink was like a dull experience of cool different taste mixtures with every sip, and the pandebono always hits.

Yelp
I've been trying to get to Muraya for a long time and it finally happened! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! This place is a gem! The staff is amazing, attentive and gives great recommendations! The food was phenomenal - seasoned and cooked to perfection! The drinks were crafted with superb artistry by their mixologists! And calling this was done in an environment that was top notch! There was a variety of patrons - date night, dining with friends, celebrations... it was an all around great experience and I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
First time at Muraya and I loved it! The restaurant was full on a Saturday night and they had a live band which was awesome. The ambiance was great but it was noisy inside. Didn't bother me, but may not be the greatest place to have lengthy conversations if you don't feel like yelling. I loved the food and drinks. I ordered the short rib as my entree, which was amazing! I mean so tender and flavorful I'd order it again in a heartbeat! I also tasted the empanada, sushi and Branzino - all very good! I also enjoyed the mapaya, it was so flavorful. If you're considering a visit, do it!

Yelp
Definitely recommend checking this place out for brunch! The food is very esthetic. They place a focus on plating, which I really appreciate coming for a brunch/lunch service. The food is filling! It was everything I wanted in a Sunday brunch meal, and it will lead you a nice Sunday afternoon nap. I recommend ordering different things off the menu and splitting it so you have the chance to try everything! Service was great. Very friendly.

Yelp
Great ambiance, delicious, creative yet authentic Colombian food. The upscale atmosphere is great for date night. Our service was impeccable. I would recommend every single dish we tried: Mini Arepas, Tierra Llanera sushi roll, Parmesan Yucca fries (oh so good!), Salmon Risotto, and the Paisa bowl (Chicharrón was perfect!). We can't wait to come back and try all the other menu items!
google avatar

Ian N.

Yelp
Calentado Criollo (5/5): A great combination of so many different elements. The chicharrón (fried pork belly) was my favorite part by far. The crispiness gave way to a nice, meaty chewiness that I really enjoyed. I also liked the mini arepas which had a crispy exterior and fluffy, grainy interior. The chorizo and fried plantains were both fine as were the rice and beans (I wished it was a little more flavorful). Chicken and Waffle Tacos (2/5): This took the chicken and waffles idea a little too far. The creme, dulce de leche, berries, and waffle cone were GREAT together as a sweet dish, but the fried chicken was completely out of place. If it was just a sweet taco with the chicken on the side it would've been a lot better. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Yelp
Very cute restaurant. Perfect for a date night, girls night, birthday celebration etc. They have live music on Friday nights and it was such a nice ambiance inside. The lighting is dim and the decor is cute. Didn't try as much as I wanted to because this was an impromptu visit but I did have a margarita, some tostones and I tried my friend's salmon and risotto which was very creamy and flavorful. The location is great and the server Gabriel was really welcoming and made the visit perfect. I will be back soon to try more things on the menu.

Yelp
Went here for a friends bday dinner, all of our first visit there. It was restaurant week so had a special menu for that where u get an app, entree and dessert. My main dish was a half chicken and it was absolutely delish. I wasn't a fan of the bread pudding dessert however, I wasn't expecting it to be soft and fluffy and warm, but wasn't. They do have live music on the wkends which is a a whole vibe. There isn't a private parking lot, but there is paid parking right across the street or can take the light rail for a cheaper option. Overall I would go again, loved the atmosphere.

Yelp
In the heart of Charlotte a piece of Barranquilla Columbia can be found, with an amazing ambience and live Latin rhythms that will burn off those calories that you will start consuming! Had reservations and was seated immediately the service from the host to the waiter, to the servers was the most efficient and expedient service. The food was amazing had the ceviche a few tapas and the octopus and it was all mouth watering!

Yelp
The last destination to go while I'm here in Charlotte was surely going to be a great one. Muraya is a Colombian restaurant located in the heart of the city, I was very excited when I saw their menu online and could not wait to try the food. Muraya is extremely big, as soon as you walk up, you see the huge patio space they have designated for outside dining.  They have umbrellas and air conditioning to combat the heat and the summer sun, so there isn't a reason not to catch a  vibe there. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a waiting area that reminds me of an old hotel. There are several spots to sit and wait for your table and plenty of spots to take cool pictures. The main area was very spacious, with many seats for any party size.  While I was dining there was a soccer game, so they had a projector in the middle of the room airing it live. It was so cool to see all those jerseys in the room.  The service was great. The server was very quick and responsive.  There was a point where I couldn't locate him after I reviewed the menu, and it took a little minute for him to get back to the table, but there was nothing to complain about.  He was very knowledgeable, kept coming back to check on us, and made sure our experience was good. The food was really good, I had Octopus at a Mediterranean restaurant earlier this week  and I really enjoyed it, so I wanted to see how it compares here in a Colombian restaurant. Apparently, I like octopus because this Pulpo Cartagenero was delightful.  My favorite thing on the menu was the Croquetas, full of flavor in every tiny bite that you take. Wait, I might be lying. The desert was really good and nice to look at too.  Muraya is a must have, I would recommend everyone to go!

Yelp
Talk about a unique dining experience! Some people criticize the Charlotte night life scene claiming that it is all corporate and sterile. I disagree, but I do understand why some people feel there is a lack of culture in this rapidly developing financial hub. So when a restaurant comes around that really goes all out to give an authentic and unique experience for patrons, one where you feel you have left the city and been transported to a far away country, it is really appreciated and noticed. Muraya is such a place. Located right off the Bland Street Station, you will find this gorgeous Columbian inspired ode to Latin American food and culture. The first thing that stood out to me was the decor. It was stunning and with the low lights it provided a wonderful energetic ambiance. Second thing is live music! We went on a Saturday night and even while dinner service was still going on, there was a traditional band playing while people occupied the dance floor! As someone with zero dancing skills I could only watch in appreciation for the talent and the general exuberance I saw. Just people having a good time. They had an impressive cocktail menu, but me personally I stuck to beer that night so I cannot comment. They certainly looked tasty. Finally the food. Our table sampled a few dishes including oxtail arancini, some mini arepas, the sirloin steak, and even some sushi as well (I have only recently begun to learn about the fusions between Latin American food and sushi and how it is becoming a culinary phenomenon). Over all this was a wonderful experience and made for a memorable evening. We would certainly recommend for parties, date nights, or even if you want to sit at the bar and listen to some music. I hope Charlotte continues to support restaurants that provide experiences like this.

Yelp
The restaurant is decorated nicely and they have a small stage for performances. I went when there wasn't any but I will have to make it a point to go when there are performances. All staff we spoke with were friendly. Jugó de Guanábana is one of my favorite juices to order when in a Colombia restaurant but it did not taste like it so I would not recommend it. The tacos were good except the waffles broke apart easily but it was delicious. My friend and I were excited about the pancakes and it did not disappoint.

Santina W.

Yelp
So, I didn't realize Hot Taco was closed permanently but what a pleasant surprise to find Muraya! The food was so authentic and fresh. The Lomo Saltado was seasoned perfectly and the Calentado Criollo was really flavorful and both meals were large enough for 2 people or leftovers. Everyone knows food is even better the next day lol The service was awesome, our waiter was knowledgeable and gave us some of the best suggestions for a first time visit. Loved the drinks they were so good! The atmosphere was so pleasant and relaxing. Very good esthetic for the eyes and pictures. Portions were worth the prices! The only downfall is that parking is $17 across the street and you cannot park backwards or you get a parking violation warning. It was a good amount of spaces around 11a-1p. I'd definitely visit again but find somewhere else to park.

Yelp
We ordered the Short Rib Sandwich and the Calentado Criollio from the brunch menu. The food was presented nicely, but I think a little overpriced. The sandwich tasted good, I'd give it a 3.5/5. The Calentado Criollio was quite bland (2.5/5). Inside of Muraya is pretty and dimly lit for the ambiance. Would be a nice atmosphere for dinner. The service was average. Parking is difficult in the area (it is clt). There's a lot next to the restaurant but it's expensive. Otherwise you can find 2hr paid street parking and walk to the restaurant.

Yelp
We came to Muraya for a birthday dinner with high hopes, especially knowing it's owned by El Puro Cubano -- but the entire experience was a huge letdown. Right from the start, service was a mess. It took over 20 minutes just to get water, which finally came from the manager Alex. That's the only thing he contributed the entire night. No acknowledgment, no effort to address anything that was clearly falling apart, and zero leadership. It felt like no one was in charge. When the food started coming out, it somehow made things worse. The appetizers were late and underwhelming. The so-called "wagyu" was just tough, chewy flank steak -- completely inedible -- and it was the same quality in the sushi rolls. I've had better meat at a food court. Every bite was a letdown. Throughout the night, we didn't just sit quietly. We voiced these concerns as they were happening -- multiple times. This wasn't a situation where we waited until the end to complain. And while the servers seemed to understand and were at least empathetic, management clearly didn't care. Closer to the end, the co-owner Manny did stop by and checked in twice. He offered an apology, and I even told him directly that given this place is backed by El Puro Cubano, it was incredibly disappointing. But even with his acknowledgment, the staff under him showed more sincerity than he did. Their idea of making it right? A round of free shots -- instead of comping the uneatable food or doing anything that actually respected the customer's experience. I'm not the type to write reviews, especially bad ones -- but this was too frustrating to ignore. I drove 25 minutes to come here with a reservation, and honestly, even if I lived right next door, I wouldn't come back. If you're looking for a quality experience, skip Muraya and drive to El Puro Cubano instead.

Yelp
I was in Charlotte for work and decided to try this place out since the pictures looked incredible. This place absolutely did not disappoint. The ambiance is beautiful, it was dimly lit but plenty of candles/lamps so absolutely my vibe. The day I went they happened to have $10 cocktails, and the server recommended the pistachero, which is like an espresso martini but with a pistachio flavor which was delicious. The menu has a lot of variety and even includes sushi. The dishes the server recommended were mainly pork dishes and I don't eat red meat, but he recommended the paisa bowl and swapping out their chicharron for their fried chicken (which worked out since I was eyeing their fried chicken appetizer) and it was incredible. The plantain risotto was my favorite part of the dish and the fried chicken was so tasty as well. The server was very friendly and helpful, and all in all this was a great experience. Will definitely check this place out again when I return to Charlotte!

Yelp
My friend celebrated her birthday here over the weekend, and is was my first time! We sat outside as a larger group and I opted for a sushi roll although I'd love to try the tapas one day! I went with the Barranquilla roll which wasn't bad. I wish they had more roll options without cream cheese though. I added a side of yucca Parmesan fries which I enjoyed, especially with the cilantro aioli. I also snagged a bite of the chicken add-on from the salad and it was honestly so crispy and juicy. The interior looked nice when I walked through it so it looks like a nice place to have a date or occasion. Our server was a young Latina lady and very sweet. They also had a photographer come to take our photo but we never heard back from her about getting them. I heard they were $20 (although with a frame) and I really wish that places would either just show you a digital copy or price them more affordably so people would actually buy them to avoid a ton of waste. I'd consider coming back for tapas or brunch!

Lesley W.

Yelp
The server was great- pleasant and knowledgeable. The vibe was lively! There was a duo playing an assortment of Colombian music. The mojito was excellent, even if I couldn't taste the "tamarind air" that the menu listed. We got the Bocaditos Muraya which was an assortment of items from their appetizers to share. It was substantial and at $45 more than enough for two. The oxtail risotto balls were disappointing - I had one tiny piece of meat and none of that oxtail flavor. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The chorizo tostado was disappointing as was the crispy pork belly "sushi". My friend tried the salmon taco thingy but was underwhelmed. I also tried the limonada de coco, expecting it to taste like the yummy beverage I'd had in Colombia. This was super thick and not very flavorful at all. I did sub out the gin for rum, but it just didn't hit like the mojito did. The pan de bono was yummy - even if a bit pricey- $15 for 4 flat rolls a bot smaller than a burger bun served with some cream cheese guava icing. I had high hopes for Muraya - it seems the go-to for celebrating because the band broken out into Spanish & English Happy Birthday songs no less than 6 times while we're there.

Cecillia A.

Yelp
I went here for lunch and it was towards the end of the day and they weren't seating anymore else, fortunately they were nice enough and management let us sit down to still order lunch. Lunch was good, although pricey for lunch prices. Reminds me a lot of yunta based off the things they had on the menu. Portion not that big because I eat a lot. The service is good. They are nice. Ambiance, it's pretty loud for lunch with the music they have. Would not recommend coming here with kids. I haven't tried their drinks so not sure what that is like. This location is where hot taco used to be. So parking would be a little harder since you would have to pay.

Yelp
We always walked by this place and finally decided to try it. It's been my favorite place in Charlotte so far! Our absolute favorite dish was the Paisa bowl. It was so unique and the chicharron was so crispy and flavorful. Also, it's bigger than it looks. We also loved the cornmeal crusted chicken app. We could have probably passed on the salad in hindsight- there wasn't anything particularly special about it. The steak sushi wasn't my favorite but it was beautiful to look at. Surprised that this place wasn't fuller on a weeknight!

William Z.

Yelp
We came here with my wife and family to celebrate her birthday. The food was average -- not bad, but definitely not the best. What really stood out, though, was the ridiculous amount of time we had to wait. It took at least 40 minutes to get our main dishes, and then nearly 50 minutes just for dessert. And this was on a Tuesday, with the restaurant half empty. On top of that, the food is very overpriced for the portion sizes and the quality. When you're out for a special occasion, that's just unacceptable. The overall experience was disappointing, and I honestly wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Yelp
The vibe on a Friday night is so fun! A step up from your typical restaurant with live music and people dancing. Drinks were a little slow but the food was fast and amazing. They do have a photographer that comes around to take pics and will sell them to you. That part seems a little touristy but didn't bother us. I definitely will be back to try out brunch.
google avatar

Janelle B.

Yelp
This spot absolutely has a great atmosphere! Just a quick note: you'll need to pay for parking. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options available. My friend and I chose to sit at the bar, where we enjoyed excellent service from the bartender. We ordered a drink and the mushroom ravioli with crab meat, which was undeniably a perfect 10 out of 10! My friend's son also had a dessert that left him amazed. We will certainly return!
google avatar

Siran T.

Yelp
Food was good overall. We went there on Friday night and there was live music. Pretty loud though - if you need to have conversations. Our server was overly passionate. He did know everything on the menu inside out and recommended the special sushi to us which was tasty. The snapper risotto was my favorite for now, would recommend. There is basically no free parking around and no parking validation offered. The parking lots in the area mostly requires flat rate parking - only one option of $17+. Just be prepared for that.
google avatar

Veronica C.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch - it was tasty with some small issues that can be addressed. The tostones on the tuna tatar weee soggy, the sauce on the pancake was extremely sweet that even a kid who loves sweet didn't enjoy it. The lomo saltado and the calentado criollo were delicious. Service was good - and ambiance was nice for a Sunday.

Yelp
If you have another option, go with that. I came to this restaurant on a Tuesday night for dinner with a friend. We had a reservation for 6pm and arrived around 6:10. The restaurant was mostly empty except for one large party and a few people at the bar. We previewed the menu beforehand so we had a few ideas of what we were interested in having. The server came to greet us and shared cocktails were $10 so we both ordered a mojito. My friend really had her heart set on ordering the red snapper (while I really wanted the branzino because that's what the online menu had). Well to our disappointment they didn't have any red snapper (or branzino ) just salmon. For appetizers We asked about the arepas versus the empanadas and ultimately went with chicken empanadas, Brussels sprouts, arroz frito and the streak. The mojitos were quite sour but for $10 we didn't complain. I was really shocked when I cut into the empanadas and they were beef, the server nonchalantly shrugged and said they ran out of chicken. The Brussels were ok but the white sauce on top was too heavy. The arroz frito was just bad. It was bland, the and chicharron was flavorless fat. I asked for a hot sauce of some kind and I was given a sweet chili and verde cream (neither was spicy and both were cold). The steak had a ring of fat around the perimeter and had no flavor. The server didn't come to check on us during the meal. We decided that we were done and then he strolled over and asked if we wanted boxes. I shared my concerns with him and he said that's how things were supposed to be. I asked for the manager who came over, but wasn't apologetic about our unpleasant experience. He brought the bill and didn't so much as even offer to comp the uneaten rice or empanadas. We paid and then he offered a free dessert. My friend wanted the molten lava brownie ... the presentation was great but the actual brownie itself wasn't warm, it was quite dry and there were tons of blueberries tucked inside. Muraya was very a disappointing dining experience and nothing like traditional Colombian cuisine. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This place is really good. I went for data with my wife and the environment is welcoming and fancy. The service was really good it was a little busy but the staff manage to treat us well. The food is amazing! Great representation of Colombian food with a unique twist. I had a blast in the restaurant . Im definitely going to be a regular in here

Cindy C.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday around 2pm -- plenty of open tables, but we were only offered seating at the bar or outside. The atmosphere and drinks were great, but the food can be hit or miss. Definitely worth doing a little research on the menu before you go

Yelp
Came by for brunch and had a wonderful time. We sat on the patio which is perfect for people watching on the Rail Trail. There are also heaters but we didn't need them today. Our server, Ricardo, was great. He was so friendly and checked on us just the right amount. On to the food. We shared four starters - French toast, empanadas, ceviche, and tostadas. Everything was really tasty. My only recommendation is to get the tamarind sauce on the side for the tostadas as it was quite strong. We will be back to try the dinner menu!

Yelp
Muraya is a beautiful space. It's a little dimly lit so just know that reading the menu may be an issue. They have live music also which was great. Our waiter was nice enough and was able to explain everything but seemed a little short on patience. They have a lady walking around taking pictures so unless you plan to purchase, it may be better not to waste her time. The food was pretty good. The yucca Parmesan fries were a standout. Definitely order those. We had the mini arepas with a tasty lump crab salad with dill, chipotle aioli, celery, pickled onions. The table enjoyed the Colombian sliders as well. They consist of brisket, short rib & chuck angus patties, sunny quail egg, sharp cheddar, pickled onions, and colombian tartar on a potato bun. All in all it's a nice place and I'd probably go back for the ambiance and to try a few more dishes/larger plates.

Yelp
We loved our dinner at Muraya last weekend!!! We went for Queen's Feast and were impressed all around. It's a HUGE restaurant with a very fun interior, and the live Colombian music really added to the eclectic vibe. The service was good - our waitress was definitely busy with lots of tables, but she was still attentive and really sweet. Everything we ordered was a hit in our opinions - we started with the shredded beef croquetas and the mini arepas (amazing flavors on both), then my husband got the arroz frito for his - entree (complex flavors with a nice fried egg on top) and I had the pulpo (charred and crispy/chewy at the same time and served on a really yummy yuca puree - reminded us of being in Spain!). We shared the flan for dessert - it was somehow both super rich and perfectly light/fluffy. Big fan of everything we got! I don't know a ton about Colombian food, but I have heard from others and read in some reviews that Muraya's offerings veer away from the traditional fare. To me, that is totally fine - it tastes amazing and the space is super fun! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
My hubby and I took a good friend to Muraya on her birthday. Parking wasn't too bad, but be prepared to pay for parking in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. Upon entry, we noticed a well decorated restaurant. We went for brunch on a Saturday. It was not crowded at all. We started out with drinks. The hubby and I ordered the Baru, made with Whiskey, coconut cream, clarified coconut milk and other ingredients. Our friend ordered the Alpinito de la casa. The Baru was very good. Our friend stated that the Alpinito de la casa was great as well. It came time to order our food. We started out with the mini arepas. It comes with three, which was perfect for our group size. They came out fairly quick. They were delicious. I wanted more but I didn't want to be too greedy. Next we ordered our entrees. asked for a recommendation between it and the Lomo Saltado. I ordered the Calentado Criollo per the waitress suggestion. My hubby ordered the Ube Pancakes, and our friend ordered the Hamburguesa Barranquillera. My food came out very quick, within 5-10 minutes of ordering it, but no one else in my group received their food. So, ai waited before eating it. 5 minutes later, my hubby's food came out and then about another 5-8 minutes went by before our friend received her food. By the time I started eating my food, it was cold. I did not care for the crispy chicharron but everything else was good. My hubby absolutely loved the Ube Pancakes, and our friend loved her hamburger. Finally, they brought is some fried corn kernals. I actually liked them. It tasted like unsweetened Smacks cereal. Overall service was good. Muraya earned a solid 4. I just wish the food came out together and not separately.

Yelp
Today we checked out Muraya. I've been under the weather this week, so I was excited to get out of the house and try a new spot. I've been here once before and really enjoyed it. The menu is a bit of an odd read, which could be off putting. But I was hoping to see a much busier dining room then when I visited back in November. Ambience and service: 9/10 It's a fun space. The dining room was over half empty, so it was pretty quiet. I did see a set up for live entertainment, but there wasn't any today. All of the staff from hosts to servers to managers are very positive and upbeat. Our server, Ricky was extremely responsive and informative. Food: 7.0/10 I am guessing today was an off day. Everything was just a smidge left of great. I did consult with my dining companion to make sure I wasn't the problem since I have had the sniffles recently. We ordered: Chicharrón Bao buns - the filling was delicious but the bao buns werent prepared properly, so it was hard and flat with a textire similar to day old white bread Empanadas - today's option was beef and the filling to pastry ratio was heavy on the pastry. The filling was good, but somewhat under seasoned. Lomo Saltado - was exactly what you would expect. Our only critique was all of the sauce was on the plate under the food. It was such a great sauce it would have been great it it had been drizzled or tossed throughout the meat and vegetables. Ube Japanese pancakes - ok. Ok. Who goes to a Peruvian spot and order Japanese anything?? That's on me. However these were definitely not Japanese pancakes. They were much too dense. The sauce was watery, but if you got a bit with the whipped cream, ice cream and fruit loops it was pretty darn good. Overall: 8/10 People can truly make a difference!! I really want to see them succeed. I enjoyed the food more my first visit and I will be returning at least one more time to determine what the true standard is. I think it's worth checking out for yourself.

Yelp
Incredible experience last night! Went to Muraya's for date night before seeing Kevin Hart, and this was the perfect pregame dinner spot. The food, the ambiance and the music was perfect! Definitely a perfect date spot. Thanks Ricky!

Yelp
Muraya has so much potential but they won't survive if they don't improve their standard of service. My friend and I went for dinner last Thursday night and the restaurant wasn't even a quarter full. Regardless, no one acknowledged us until we flagged down a server after 15 mins. The food and drinks were really good, so I hope they do better. Everything we tried was so yummy: pear salad, tartar, ceviche, octopus. The sushi wasn't my favorite though bc I've never liked cream cheese in rolls. I was excited to try the desserts but when we flagged our server and asked for a dessert menu, she said the kitchen was closed (this was before 9:30pm!). No one warned of us of this or checked to see if we wanted anything else. I was looking forward to trying their desserts and was doubly disappointed when then they brought out dessert for three parties afterwards. The ambiance was fine. The decor is a little tacky but the live music was nice. It was super loud so not a place for a conversational dinner. They also turned up the lights around 9:30pm to hurry people up I guess. Like I said, service was not up to par.

Yelp
I came with some friends for a birthday brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was gorgeous and the ambiance with the music was very nice! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was amazing; she gave great recommendations and was extremely friendly. Our waitress recommended some drinks based on our likes and dislikes. I had the brunch margarita which was pretty good. If you like tequila and drinks that aren't too sweet then i definitely recommend it! My friend has a mimosa and it came with a cute rubber ducky! Now for the food... i was somewhat disappointed to be honest. I'm a pescatarian so there wasn't many options i could choose from but I'm sure their regular menu has a lot more variety; unfortunately they only served off that brunch menu until 4pm so i didn't have a choice. I ended up getting the huevos parceros which was ok; it needed a little seasoning for sure. It's also a starter so it wasn't very big. We also got the ceviche which tasted good but a pretty small serving for the price. The ube pancakes were interesting. The waiter brought it out and poured the syrup on top which was a cute little addition. It was extremely sweet though so i recommend if you like dessert and brunch in one. We also got the short rib sandwich which i couldn't taste but both of my friends said it was delicious. We also saw them serve 'shots on fire' and that came with a lit up birthday sign and the staff singing. It was very cool to see. I wouldn't mind revisiting for their dinner menu to see if there's a difference with the food but as far as their brunch goes, it wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
Open space, good for dates or parties or a drink at the bar. The cocktails are delicious; they even use lulo as their citrus of choice so they're light and refreshing. Highly recommend anything with lulo in it. Ate at the bar on a Saturday night since we did not make a reservation. The service is great, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ordered the snapper - fish is cooked well. Nothing special but food overall have fair pricing, especially being in south end area.

Yelp
This restaurant was decorated beautifully and had a very classy vibe. It wasn't too crowded for brunch, so we were able to walk in. I was excited to try out this place out because of the unique fusion menu inspired by Colombian cuisine! Onto the food! We started with the Tostada Francesca to split. This had a unique blend of citrusy and sweet flavors featured in a crunchy french toast. For our entrees, we got the Ube Pancakes, the Hamburguesa Barranquillera, the Chicken and Waffle Tacos, and the Calentado Criollo. The Ube Pancakes were rich and fluffy and were paired with a delicious condensed milk syrup. This was such an incredible sweet brunch treat and I would come back just to eat this! The Hamburguesa Barranquillera featured a delicious patty situated between a ton of fun toppings-- the most exciting being the sweet plaintains and the carmelized pinneaple. It was a perfect blend of savory and sweet. The Calentado Criollo was a giant bowl of a ton of individual items, the best of which was the chorizo and the arepas. It was fun to try everything individually and then combine them for some fun bites! Lastly, the Chicken and Waffle Tacos, which honestly I don't recommend. The portion was significantly smaller than the other entrees, and it was yummy, but it left us still hungry. The food presentation was seriously a 10/10 too-- everything came out looking so beautiful! Overall, I am glad I was able to try this place out. Something that stood out to me was how attentive and nice the employees are. The bar also looked so pretty with the backlighting and tied in well with all of the sleek decor. I would love to come back and try this place out for dinner or when there is live music!

Yelp
The sushi was horrible. Chewy rice. Cream cheese in all of the options. Cooked MEAT in half of the options. They were also apparently out of soy sauce.

Yelp
Had brunch here. I was surprised how empty it was for Saturday at brunch time. Lots of space, super cute place. I had mini arepas which were good and my friend had the Lomo Saltado dish in which they liked. I tried a piece of the steak from the bowl and it was delicious. It is on my radar for next time. Our server was efficient and checked on us often. I will go back to try more next time. I am going to dinner later and did not want to over stuff myself. Definitely reasonably priced.

Yelp
My friends & I, our first time visited Muraya. We love the vibes and food. But unfortunately our server didn't explain us what dish she brought out. She just placed the dishes on the table and left. It was super busy on Saturday night especially during restaurant week time period. DJ was playing good music & live music inside the restaurant. The room was quite dark but it was a good experience.
