"As well as comfortable guestrooms, Hotel Murmeli houses this restaurant on the ground floor, where head chef Wolfgang Strauss serves up ingredient-led classic cuisine. Along with regional specialities like tris (a medley of three dumplings, including spinach and cheese), the menu also features offal dishes such as veal kidney and liver. At lunchtime, there is an extensive à la carte selection; in the evening only a fine dining tasting menu. Anne-Marie Strauss is your maître d' and heads up the charming and attentive front-of-house team. Diners can also look forward to an unrivalled view of the Lech mountain landscape – especially from the terrace, of course!" - Michelin Inspector

Simply outstanding - so good I went twice whilst on holiday for a week in February. Annemarie the owner, couldn't be kinder or more helpful. Her food is simply DIVINE. Skip breakfast and have 3 courses, if not 4. Every mouthful is worth it! Best restaurant in the Arlberg by far. Totally sublime!

Our favorite (and best) meal in Lech was at Murmeli. Expertly ran by a husband and wife duo, the tasting menu is an experience you absolutely cannot miss. The flavors are as exceptionally tasty as they are creative. All complemented by an incredibly friendly staff. Thank you Ann Marie for such an unforgettable experience!

I have been hearing about Murmeli for years and finally found it! Tucked away in the beautiful little "back streets" of Oberlech, this restaurant is simply out of this world. In my opinion, it is the best food in the whole Alberg, if not one of my most favourite restaurants in the world! Sitting on the terrace, with crisp white linen and love cutlery and glassware, we had outstanding Vitelli tonnato, Bouillabaisse, Spaghetti vongole, mouthwatering and melting spinach dumplings with parmesan shavings. Wonderful wine list with prices to match, but I can't fault this restaurant. It is absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious! Outstanding.

Restaurant Murmeli is slightly tucked away but locals will all point it out. We had heard about it from another guest at the Post Hotel and I would make this the first lunch booking for your week! ||We ate three of the"classics" including Stroganoff and Curry; absolutely outstanding and wine list thoughtful and not unreasonably priced||They offer a 12:30 and 2pm sitting..if you want to enjoy the experience and gaze out at the majestic Mountains,I would pick the later slot

We have visited Lech many times and, in a town where you are not short of excellent lunch options, Murmeli consistently stands out. The restaurant is small - you have to book (and at busy times like school holidays, you may have to book a couple of weeks in advance) and it is always full but service is always attentive, personal, and warm. We ate here twice during a week's ski trip - on the first occasion, our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived but the delightful host / owner welcomed us with a beaming smile, said how nice it was to see us again (after a gap of 2 years!), and ushered us through to a comfortable seat in the bar, offered us drinks and generally made us feel so welcome we didn't notice the slight delay in getting to our table. The food is always amazing, freshly prepared and completely delicious, and you have to save space for dessert... I'm not normally much of a pudding person, but the Eiscafe is wonderful and the apple strudel comes warmly recommended. On sunny days there is a small terrace which is a real sun trap and you can easily lose an afternoon there with a bottle of chilled rose and good friends. Cannot recommend it enough.

A visit at Murmeli is a must for everyone...the hotel is tiny and it is all about the personalised service from Anne-Marie, Wolfgang and Claudia. What really sets this apart from all others is the amazing cuisine. Wolfgang amazes me, the really small kitchen produces absolute delights for any tastebud. Best and fresh ingrediants are turned into a delight on a daily basis, the half board menu at night would classify as a starred dinner in a fancy restaurant around the globe, the service by Anne-Marie and Claudia are the icing on the cake...don‘t wait too long, tables are booked early-rightly so!
