On a gorgeous "top down" evening, a friend and I ended up at Murphy's. I'm a sucker for a good Irish pub and, since neither of us had been here, we decided to give it a whirl. Ample parking. A few outdoor tables near the entrance and many more on the patio. We decided on indoors. Our server, Jamie, was in training, and she'll be an asset. Unobtrusive, but checked on us several times. Very efficient and professional.
We ordered a hot pretzel as a starter. My friend had a Cubano melt sandwich. I had a classic cheeseburger. We both had fries and a Stella draft (ok, ok, I might've had two....just don't tell my doctor).
The pretzel came with two dipping sauces - a spicy mustard and "not sure what it was, but it was pretty good" other dip. The pretzel itself was ok, nothing that knocked our socks off. And apparently not as good as one from a place down the road that she really likes. My cb was spot on. Definitely not a patty, had a brioche bun, and a nice charbroiled taste. If I had to rate the burger, I'd rate it 5-star. She thought her Cubano melt (combination of ham, pulled pork, and cheese) was very good. Both of us thought the fries were not crispy enough (and I asked for them well-done).
Atmosphere was nice...Murphy's is a solid place with a very varied menu, good service, and very safe.
