The 14 Best Restaurants Near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (ORD) | Eater Chicago

"Actor Bill Murray and his brothers (Andy, Ed, Joel, Johnny, and Brian-Doyle; many of who also work in TV and film) have opened a restaurant just outside of Chicago. It’s kind of a lifetime achievement award celebrating their successful careers. Fans of golf and Caddyshack will get a kick out of the space that features a colorful mural with tons of references to Bill Murray movies. The restaurant also serves dependable pub grub, like burgers," - Ashok Selvam

Food was all pretty good. Although, the Brussels sprouts hash could have been more cooked...seemed hard and dry. Jambalaya was excellent. I appreciated the fact that they added the shrimp after so my husband who has allergies could actually try it. The gopher balls should be tried and the horseradish sauce is a must as a perfect compliment. Drinks seemed watery. The water itself is not pleasant. So a few downfalls. Otherwise it was worth the stop and checking it out.

Chris Cook

Google
Food was good for the most part. The potato golf balls were a little bland, but that may have been because I didn’t use the horse radish sauce. Everyone in our group enjoyed our meals. We ate here twice on this trip due to the convenience of being in walking distance from our hotel. The others in my group have been here before and recommend it. Service was good. All staff were friendly. Nice atmosphere.

Google
The food was really tasty, served with a smile from a friendly and efficient staff. It's a must stop for Bill Murray fans. I would recommend reserving a table, especially if there's a golf tournament onsite. Tee-Up. It's in the hole.

Google
It's a Cinderella Story. This place is a wonderful, the food was great. Burgers come on potato rolls (My favorite), all Caddyshack and Murray Bros memorabilia. The wait stuff were very attentive to our needs. When enjoying St Augustine, save room for your lunch on your way home and come to Caddyshack. Amazing place. Definitely a place I'll come to whenever in town.

Google
Very cool and fun restaurant full of Murray Bros memorabilia. Bill Murray movie posters and photos litter the dining hall. The menu is full of fun named classic dishes. Everyone I asked said the food was good and I agree. I had the potato golf balls and jambalaya. Both were well prepared and had good flavor. The portions are large. Its two meals for me, bonus i love leftovers. Overall a very fun and nice lunch. Staff were very nice and helpful. Thank you.

Google
We finally decided to give this place a try- the atmosphere is fantastic- surrounded with so many artifacts from Caddyshack as well as references for some of his other movies- as for the food- we started with the Buffalo Brussel Sprouts- fantastic- my wife had the Cantina bowl vegetarian & I had the Chicago Blues Burger with the golf ball potatoes- my meal was incredible but my wife's was filled with hard lettuce- plus it was not good for her afterwards- not sure what happened- hopefully will give it another chance

Google
Really good food, really good prices and its the Murray brothers resteraunt. What else could ya ask for? I absolutely LOVED this place!!! The Cinderella story of restaurants!!!

Google
Angela was our bartender. She was great and had a lot of information regarding the area. The place itself is basically how you would imagine it. Caddyshack themed. It waw great. Food was great too. Recommend the golf balls appetizer and we both had meatball subs. Very tasty!!

Yelp
Food was amazing what every dish we ordered. The service was outstanding. They were very responsive. Checking up on you at all times five out of five.
google avatar

Yelp
Large open space, waitstaff was very good. Started with golf balls, creamy potato croqueattes with bacon. They were very tasty. Hubby got the fish and ships. It was 2 nice sized pieces of haddock in a light batter with crinkle fries. He said it was good. I had the poke bowl which was a nice portion size, but I wish the rice was seasoned and the cucumbers were cut thinner. It was good, but could have been so much better with some small changes. We would go back, and I would try something more traditional.
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
Service by Michael was attentive and good. Turkey BBQ hoagie was very good. Mahi was overcooked and had little taste. Have a feeling a lot of customers like myself are staying at the hotel or played golf. Inside has the golf theme and some pictures from Caddyshack. Large seating including Bar area. Wouldn't run back.

Yelp
Girlfriend and I stopped in to celebrate! Got seated outside like we wanted. Very surprised we were the only ones out there cause it was BEAUTIFUL!

Yelp
Well we arrived before posted hours of closure. Drive a bit of a ways only to find it closed!! So no real review other than closed before posted hours of closure. A true Wally World experience!!

Yelp
Decent spot to grab a bite to eat. It's obviously the place to go if you're a fan of the movie Caddyshack or Bill Murray. It's filled to the roof with memorabilia, movie posters and other related items. The food is fine but nothing amazing and the service was great. I'd probably stop back if I was staying at the hotel or golfing on the courses nearby; but, I wouldn't go out of my way.

Linda M.

Yelp
This is a great looking place with good service but the menu is limited Some of our food was good but others were not so good (mediocre) depends on what you order The drinks are fine

Yelp
We were on our way home from NC and looking for a new place. Decided to drive a little further to make to last lap tomorrow easier. We stopped at the Renaissance and Caddy Shack was in walking distance. Always been wanting to stop in here. Typical pub feel. Pretty busy for a Sunday. Wondering if all these folks are staying in our hotel. All kinds of Murray stuff in the walls. We still got a seat right away and our server Ellie was so nice. She took good care of us. Started with ASIAN SALAD. Portions are large. Easily shareable. This was really good. Get ahi tuna on top. Then we had the jambalaya. Very good. Deep flavors. Could have used more rice though. We finished with some GOPHER HOLES. Fried dough with strawberries. Delicious. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality, quantity and price of our food.

Yelp
What a fun, out of the way spot! I've lived in the area for a few years, and this was my first visit to Caddyshack. Food is pretty standard Pub food, with some very tasty "Gopher Holes" for dessert (kind of like beignets dipped in cinnamon sugar). Service by Connor E was efficient and friendly. Pricing at about $40 per person all-in was at the higher end, but that was because we got an appetizer, a meal, drinks, dessert and tip. Overall the value is quite reasonable. The environment is fun and themed with the original movie - there's also a wonderful sized lounge room for larger parties, and many outdoor tables in a covered area to protect from sun and rain. Overall, fun experience and a place where I will certainly return.
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
This restaurant is located within World Golf Village in St. AUGUSTINE. It has indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. We were quickly seated by our waiter, Connor. The restaurant has great theming and decorations inspired by the movie. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees, and dessert. We started with the crispy, deep-fried mashed potato balls. They were accompanied by a tasty horseradish sauce. I ordered the smokehouse BBQ burger with cheddar cheese and an onion ring on it. It was really good. My husband had the pastrami sandwich. For dessert we had the gopher balls, which were sugary fried donut hole, and they were delicious. Service from Connor was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Great place for a simple quick meal of bar and grill food. Lettuce wedge is best item on the menu and is huge. Hopefully they will be bringing back their famous onion rings at some point. Service is consistently above average and the overall experience will Keep you coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool vibe. One of the best burgers in StA attentive staff. Simple menu but it fits the place. Worth a stop for sure.

Yelp
Came for lunch today and it did not disappoint. Originally from the Chicago area ourselves my son had to try the Chicago dog. He said he almost felt as if he were at Wrigley dogs. The golf balls appetizer was good but the sauce was not a favorite for me. I think it had horseradish in it and I'm not a fan but plain the flavor was good. There is so much to look at while your dining so our table was buzzing with movie quotes from some of our favorites. So if you're in the area pop in and grab a bite to eat.
google avatar

Cara G.

Yelp
Took visiting family to Caddyshack last week. We are all fans of the Murray Bros. films and were interested in trying out the restaurant. We were not disappointed. The memorabilia alone was worth the drive. So many photos, props and nods to Caddyshack and so many other Murray Bros. films filled the walls. Very cool space. Service was ok considering the place was busy due to it being a weekend night. Had the jambalaya. It was good, however could have used just a bit more in the way of salt and spices. Others in the party enjoyed their meals. We left happy and we will be back in the near future!
google avatar

Kara P.

Yelp
So this place was a surprisingly very tasty. Our waitress was super hospitable and attentive. I guess I thought that I was expecting it to be a little more gimmicky as it relates to the movie inspiration but apart from the decor it felt like a regular restaurant. The food was good and reasonably priced. I would return again.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for fans of golf and Bill Murray. Food was hit and miss; I would err on the side of simpler or fried options. The kind of place you want to go to once but feel no need to go back.
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
Great fish and chips! The crinkle fries were very crispy on the outside, not soft and floppy. The fish and chips were just right - fish was done perfectly with a nice crust and a very tasty tartar sauce to go with it. We also had the spinach and pecan salad with a house dressing and it too was delicious. Our server Doug was efficient, prompt and there when we needed him.

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit Caddyshack ever since I first saw the sign along I-95 after moving to Florida more than an decade ago, since I was camping in the area I took advantage of the opportunity. We arrived just after their opening at 11:30 AM, after being greeted by a few members of the staff at the hostess station we decided to go directly to "The Shed" to maybe grab a few souvenirs, the selection is pretty small I was really expecting to have a pro shop type experience so it was a little disappointing once I entered the small space. After that we decide to grab a few seats at the bar, by this time a few more customer were seated in the country club like setting ordering drinks and food - we were greeted by Kim who was tending bar she was very nice and brought a few menus over and took our drink orders (spicy Bloody Mary and a Mimosa) both arrived quickly and met out expectations especially when we cashed out for under $16 excluding the tip. We decided to pass on food so I can't speak of it, it's a very nostalgic venue especially knowing the history and a fan of the original movie. The 4 stars were based on customer service and it's cool factor...
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
Easy seating, the restaurant is open and airy. The deco is quirky. Very relaxed atmosphere. The food is good and prices are reasonable. I love their Ruben sandwich accompanied with a couple of mojitos. It is a nice change from some of the other places in the area.

Yelp
In St. Augustine, where smiles fill the air, The Murray Brothers Caddy Shack is beyond compare On Tuesday, December 10th, in twenty twenty-four, Our tasty adventure had us wanting more! Caroline, our server, with a smile so bright, Fast, friendly, and efficient, she got it just right. With great suggestions to tickle our taste, She led us to flavors we just couldn't waste! The guacamole burger? A savory delight, Every single bite was pure magic, just right. And those golf balls, oh my, what a treat, At this wonderful shack, the food can't be beat! We'll be back again, that's an easy decree, To savor more flavors and share in the glee. So I have that going for me... which is nice, At The Murray Brothers Caddy Shack, paradise!

Yelp
Overall Great experience. Staff was friendly and on point. Food was great, exceeding. already high expextations, given the location. I had a burger and fries. The burger was cooked perfect and the crinkle cut fries were crispy and tender. We shared the onion rings and as an onion ring connoisseur can say that they weren't my favorite. The onions were a bit thick for my taste and the breading to onion ratio was off...as in too much onion and not enough breading. The breading also didn't seem very seasoned. Despite the onion rings, it was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to go back. Note that I might be picky about onion rings. :)

Yelp
I went in with high hopes because it appears to be the only surviving restaurant in WGV. But it is really rundown inside and out. Outside decor is held in place with painted over duct tape, inside the men's bathroom is just falling apart, ceiling falling down, black mold on the ac vents. Any McDonald's has cleaner restrooms. The food wasn't any better. I had a Ruben that was skimpy on the corned beef, thousand isle dressing, cheese and sauerkraut. And the rye bread smelled strange and unappetizing. I have no plans of ever going back, there are too many "good" places around. Murray Bros. Caddy Shack ISN'T one of the good ones.

Katie K.

Yelp
Upon arriving at this location in Saint Augustine, we had a negative experience. We came in around 7:30 pm and just wanted to have a drink or two at the bar. The host rolled her eyes and didn't talk to us after we asked if we could sit at high top tables near the bar to have a drink or two... she told us that the high tops were reserved and we stayed until 9pm... no one ever came and sat at those tables.
google avatar

Travis S.

Yelp
This review is solely on drinks and the bar. We decided to have a quick drink and check out Caddyshack since we have never been. The mixed drinks we ordered were just right, not too strong and not too sweet. Our server was fantastic and personable. We definitely need to return to try out some food and see a movie while we are there. FYI if your a big Bill Murray fan or Caddyshack fan you need to come here and check out the memorabilia and Merch you can purchase.
google avatar

Trisha J.

Yelp
Great food and service. Pleasant surprise next to the Renaissance hotel. There was live music on Saturday night. Pro tip: if ordering the Buffalo Chicken Dip, substitute the tortilla chips for french fries. You'll thank me later.

Steve 2.

Yelp
The onion rings are, by far, the best in the world. They are tire sized and could be eaten as a whole meal! The place is great with the Caddy Shack movie feel.
google avatar

Ingrid S.

Yelp
Half priced drinks on Tuesday and wonderful beer battered fish & chips! Yes ! Crispy but not over cooked. The portions are tremendous. The bartenders are very hardworking and very nice humans. This very casual restaurant can become crowded due to its popularity. The decor is what you would expect from Bill Murray's movie career. It's fun to see and watch people having fun. Most that come in are locals. The menu is quite varied. You can have a burger or a quinoa bowl. The food isn't complicated but it's done well. I have the privilege of staying at the Renaissance hotel next door. So dare I say it? It's stumbling distance from my room. Ha!
google avatar

Margot A.

Yelp
Pub food in a fun atmosphere. Visited twice this week - lunch for 2 seated at the bar was good partly because it wasn't a crowded time of day. Casual & fun. Another night was dinner pre-arranged in a private room for our large group. They were woefully understaffed & the place was crowded & loud. Super understaffed. Long wait times. But the waitresses kept their cool (poorly managed isn't the fault of the servers).
google avatar

Bruce S.

Yelp
We got there at Happy Hour the last time, so we got half price drinks. I had the Jambalya and it was awesome! Chock full of meat and very tasty. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. The service was great, as was the atmosphere...
google avatar

Jon Mark C.

Yelp
The food was great, I highly recommend the catch of the day! The service was amazing and our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The ambiance was unique, but their water tasted kinda strange.
google avatar

Rick P.

Yelp
Good place for dinner and/or lunch after going to IMAX Started off with a beer and the potato golf balls. They are mashed potatoes with bacon bits deep fried. Really tasty with ranch dipping sauce. Considering the Murray brothers are from chicago, only thing I could think about buying is a chicago dog. They do a great job and everything was great about it. Even down to the emerald green relish. Candyce had the bourbon burger with cheese and bacon with it. Cooked just right Take a walk around the restaurant and look at all the pictures. And especially the motorcycle that was built by orange county choppers
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
First time and loved the decor. Service was spot on. The Chicago Dog was a almost the real thing I didn't see any celery salt and the poppy seed bun wasn't split down the middle and was a little stale. Everything else was there, Sports Pepper and Neon Relish. The Potato Golf Balls with the horseradish sauce were great. Thanks

Bb B.

Yelp
Lilly was our waitress and she was great! 2 of us loved our jambalaya! Others were mixed. They were out of pastrami so one in our group opted for the sliders and didn't seem that thrilled with them. I ate one and felt it was decent! Another in our party ordered the fish and chips (and has been searching for "English " fish and chips. Looked great and nicely breaded, he said it didn't measure up to "English" but was good and did eat all the fish. Fries were nicely well done. Last on our party had the Cajun penne pasta with chicken and liked it. Place had all kinds of memorabilia and caddyshack souvenirs are available too. A bunch of TVs but only at the bar so patrons could watch sports.

Yelp
We were staying at resort next door, so it was very convienent. The atmosphere reminded me of the Cheers bar of the 80's. Huge though. My husband and I got a very very new waitress that didn't seem to be trained that well. The nightly steak is not listed, nor is the price. The waitress told my husband it was sirloin and when asked how big, she made a diagram with her hands showing a 20oz size steak. For $30. It ended up being 1/4 of the size she 'showed' us. It was more like 12 oz maybe (we never did find out) and it was really really bad. I don't think it was serloin. My husband is too nice to complain or have them take it back. He ate what tasted to me like a chewy applebee steak for $30. Not worth it. The guac bacon hamburger was amazing. The potato balls were so good. We shared a cranberry pecan salad. I didn't see one pecan and a whole lot of spinach. It looked like a bowl of spinach, then we dug around in it and found the few cranberries and cheese. The flavor was amazing though and we actually enjoyed it. Would have been bettter with pecans. But again, 'we' aren't allowed to complain. The strawberry shortcake was one of the best I've ever had. So huge. We were stuffed. Other than the steak, it was amazing tasting food. I once again forgot to take pictures before we ate....they lost a star for that gross steak and having to request from random employees to find our waitress when we needed anything. She did really good at the end, but then she got a lot of tables...poor girl needed help. I know the hostess was training, but if you see dirty dishes on a tables with people that needs cleared and the waitress has 6 tables sat within 15 minutes...you now have 4 hands to help.. hostess Really focused on the empty tables, not paying attention to customers.

Yelp
It has been years since our last visit here. The quality has dropped down beyond repair. The portion sizes were so small. They did not even fill our 4 year old niece who was with us. The service was horrific. They did not seat us for 30 minutes with over half the place empty. When we asked about that. They told us they will check with manager and never got back to us. We seen people get to go orders. We asked one of them when they placed the order on the phone. They gave us a time that was after we arrived. Horrible.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Was here with a very large party for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious and the service was good as well. Quite a long wait for our food but with large parties that is to be expected, will be returning when I'm in the area.

DeWanna M.

Yelp
The food and service were great! We enjoyed the atmosphere - the memorabilia and Caddyshack feel of the place was a nice touch.
google avatar

Indigo B.

Yelp
Didn't get to explore inside, but didn't pick up on theme much. Went after IMAX movie, and was quite busy. Ordered Chicago dog and feta cucumbers. nice portion size, and bun was great. Friend had Rueben which was also a great portion size. Good service.
google avatar

Keith E.

Yelp
This is an awesome place in World Golf Village been going here for years. The food is excellent. they have great burgers and sandwiches and I can't forget about the golf ball appetizer as that is awesome as well. I've always had great service here and I would definitely suggest it.
google avatar

Erika V.

Yelp
Idk how anyone can leave this place a good review!!! Honestly their taste buds must be shot. This place is horrible. Not even the mixed drinks are good. The service was cool and the spot itself was dope. The memorabilia is dope and the signature on the wall are what make it. But the food. No thank you. How locals come to this place is beyond me
google avatar

Ed D.

Yelp
Cool place to have a bite and a drink. We went to the one in St. Augustine. The queso with small pieces of ground beef is great. I now make it this way at home. We didn't really eat but what the people around had looked pretty good.

Sean M.

Yelp
This place is absolutely disgusting. First issue was they have mold in their sweet tea. Then in the appetizer there was this hair in the food. The service was horrible. Almost every plate on the table had hair in it. This is the most disgusting and disrespectful service I've ever experienced in my life.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Somehow this place manages to pull off great food, a kitschy golf theme, some seriously cool golf and movie paraphernalia, a great bar, and a touristy vibe. Oh and there's trivia (was anyway, until we can safely shake COVID). I'll spare the details immediately and say, If you're anywhere around northern St. Johns county or southern Duval county, stop by. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Now for the details. First... I love the food. I've had a lot of different things. Start off with the golf balls. They are legendary. If you're more health conscious, the Quinoa Bowl with chicken or shrimp is fabulous. Ask for a little extra dressing, trust me. The ribs and their pasta dishes are good too. Finally... I can NOT believe I haven't reviewed this place. I've been here dozens of times. I came here when we decided on the house that made St. Augustine my new permanent home. My family has been here, including for trivia. We have some fun pictures of my nephew's horsing around near all the goofy golf themed stuff. It's a great, relaxed place to sit and have a beer and a meal.
google avatar

Wendell R.

Yelp
I never went in to eat but I've always wanted to see the ball affixed to the front of the business. I can't say it's a bucket list kind of a thing but it was pretty close
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
We really did enjoy their sandwiches and dinner. We even stopped in for a cocktail and were really impressed with the way that the drinks were made. I would recommend this place for a couple or family that wants an excellent dining experience in St Augustine, the service was impeccable.

B S.

Yelp
Good food not great. Nice atmosphere around Murray Bros film careers. It used to be great food but things have changed over the years.

Chris A.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much as it seemed like a novelty type restaurant , but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered an entree each for a family of 4 and an appetizer for around $125. I was happy about that because earlier that day I spent about the same for hot dogs and chicken tenders on st John's street. I had the New York strip and my wife had the cobia. Both were very good. My oldest daughter had the chicken and waffles and she loved it. The other daughter had the flatbread cheese pizza and it was double the size she expected. We are used to a little more seasoning, but we asked Doug if he could bring us some Cajun seasoning and he came through. Doug is awesome by the way. We normally don't do dessert, but we got the strawberry shortcake and brownie and they were great. Overall a pleasant surprise.
google avatar

Tim H.

Yelp
After a long day at the Golf Hall of Fame, the boys wanted a bite to eat. We stopped in at the Caddyshack restaurant, all very excited to see artifacts from the career of the great Bill Murray. The decor was nice, yet I have no passion for movies, let's talk food. I ordered the classic cheeseburger. It was not very good. Saltier than the waters in Club Paradise and greasier than the lanes in Kingpin. There was a hair in my fries, and unless it was Sir William Murray's, I have no interest in eating that. Finally, the cheese on the burger costs extra, despite the menu saying it was included. Disappointed with Bill and Brian Doyle-Murray to say the least. I came into the restaurant a great fan of Bill, and left feeling like I need to watch Ghostbusters again to regain my respect for the actor/comedian. Bill if you're reading this, have your team reach out to mine and we can catch a ballgame. -t

Yelp
Always great, decent size portions and service is great. We've had the fried chicken and waffles with spicy syrup and salads, burgers, and the potatoes golf balk appetizer. Everything is good.
