Musashi’s Review - International District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a great value on low-priced sushi, it’s hard to find somewhere better than Musashi’s in the ID. You’re not going to see things like toro or uni, but you will enjoy fantastic tuna and torched salmon for around $3 per piece as well as hamachi rolls for $6. We especially appreciate the thick-cut sashimi that come in a set of four pieces for around $13. The hefty slices of salmon or tuna are substantially-sized, and when you’re dealt a thicker piece of fish, it’s even more clear how excellent all of Musashi’s cuts are. Plus, their casual space has a ton of tables, which makes it perfect for a dinner with friends when you need to spend your money on other things, like more sushi." - Carlo Mantuano

If you’re looking for a place to eat amazing food but also have a fun time you should come here!! It was mine/Brynn’s birthday and they gave us blow up hats which was a blast. The service…where do I even start…. All of the servers have a fun time serving us while making the best food in the world. The people thee are also the best while we were there so many people told my happy birthday and one person even let us have half of their cake! Me and my brother had steak and chicken. First i’ll talk about the steak, it’s so thin when you bite into it it feels like paper but with the best flavor ever. The chicken it so light and it’s flavor is the most amazing thing. I have included some pictures of it.

Google
Service was alright. No complaints there. Atmosphere was amazing. Beautiful patio. We spent $100 on a watered-down mule and a mediocre meal that I could get anywhere else for $25 with no bland fried rice. We ordered from the kitchen. Teriyaki steak and a dragon roll. Dragon roll was mushy. Texturally congruent and mushy. The calamari was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside and bland. The calamari sauce was necessary and delicious. 1/10 tbh. It can't be this expensive and nasty without it being borderline offensive at some point

Hibachi is always nostalgic for me and chef’s dad jokes …) volcano , egg roll, heart beat , shrimp throw . Delicious meal and just fun family dinner.

Google
Come here pretty frequently. But the last time or two the veggies seemed like they were throwing whatever they had in. Heavy on bell pepper and not the normal veggies. Food quality just didn’t seem the same. Service was great. Cook was funny.

Google
Ordered the couples hibachi option. Came with steak, shrimp, and chicken. They give good portion sizes. You can choose between soup or salad and I ordered the salad. The dressing was delicious! Very strong ginger flavor so if you don't like ginger I suggest getting a different dressing. Ordered a shrimp roll. It has fried shrimp tempura in it and it was also very delicious! Very pricey. It was 75 dollars for just the couples hibachi option.

Highly recommend for a fun date night dinner!! Great adult beverage options, yummy appetizers and enjoyed the chef’s presentation while preparing our meal. Friendly waitstaff made our evening memorable.

Google
Celebrating my baby sister’s 60th birthday, she choose Musashi’s Japanese Steakhouse, she made reservations for 6 but circumstances prevented that and they did accommodate us by changing to 8. So the service and atmosphere were good but our food was too salty, the steak was tough, the rice over cooked, however the green tea ice cream is fabulous and Vincent who prepared our food was charming, pleasant and made us laugh. He was young and admitted he had been there a few months, I started to say something while he was preparing to take it easy on the salt but I didn’t. 🤨 Overall, me and my sisters had a great time together once again. I didn’t expect the food to be as salty as it was but I did make use of my carry out the next day.

My wife and I ate here on a recent date night, and we were just so happy with the whole experience. We arrived a little early for our reservation, so the hostess directed us to the bar. We were quickly served, and the bartender helped us choose a sake that we really loved. They seated us promptly at our reservation time, and our server, Bri, made asking for a few customizations to our order just effortless. The shrimp and pineapple off the Robata menu was a very tasty appetizer. For the hibachi dinner, my wife had scallops, and I had filet mignon. The portions were plentiful, the chef was entertaining, and the food was prepared expertly, including our requested customizations, and was very flavorful. We shared a Crabby Creole sushi roll that was great, as well. For a little 'step up' from other hibachi options in OKC, this is your place. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great food, but 5 star review is meant for our cook "Duy" he is the best ever and we've visited this place several times. Thank your for making our granddaughter's birthday special!

Yelp
This is THE place to go for hibachi in OKC. Great atmosphere, decor, chefs, and food. Service from both the waitress and hibachi chef were outstanding! We both had steak and it was so good. It's traditional hibachi and the highest caliber.

Yelp
Very impressed with how well this place is managed. For my spouse's birthday I wanted a surprise party at a Japanese Steakhouse. It was a party of 16. I called it in a week before and when we arrived, they had the rest of the family seated, even before our scheduled time. Staff was very attentive, cooked excellent food, and made it entertaining. I've been to Musashis before. The experience this time was the best. They are on their game and it was a pleasurable experience.

Yelp
I love this place. If you are looking for a nice evening with good food, this place should be on that list. The service was great and the chef was even better. We started with a red canyon sushi roll. Then my husband and I split the family style dinner. I enjoy this option because it has variety. It comes with soup or salad, we both had the miso soup. The main dish is chicken, shrimp and steak. It all comes with fried rice and veggies. At the end, you get a cup of green tea ice cream.

Yelp
What an experience! If you have never had a hibachi dining experience, Musashi's is perfect for you! The hibachi chefs are incredibly talented and entertaining, and the service is fast and efficient. Upon entering, a host will ask if you are here for sushi or hibachi. If sushi, you will be sat behind a partition away from the hibachi. Of course, if you are ordering hibachi, you will be sat at one of the larger tables surrounding a hibachi chef. You can order sushi if you are ordering hibachi too! We ordered a sushi roll as our appetizer, and it was good! The orange lotus was a fried roll that definitely was way bigger than we expected. I appreciate when a fried sushi roll isn't so overly fried where it becomes difficult to eat. For the hibachi, we ordered the family style dinner for two, and it was also so much food! It came with NY steak, chicken, shrimp, veggies, fried rice, and even green tea ice cream for dessert. The price point is also great for what you get. We had a couple boxes of leftovers that lasted for multiple meals!

Yelp
Great food!!! Awesome atmosphere! Service was excellent great job by our chef!! He was new and still did a very great job

Kathryn N.

Yelp
Excellent experience! Every time we go we are wowed by the teppanyaki chefs. The food is excellent and the show is fun for everyone. 100% recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Cook was great! He put on a great show! Kept us laughing. Server was a bit slow but all in all still a good first experience here. We were celebrating a birthday and finishing a bottle of wine after the meal and staff nonchalantly started vacuuming and stacking plates instead of just telling us there was another party waiting. It got kind of awkward.
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted a fun dinner experience for my son's birthday, and Musashi's was exactly that. We sat at the hibachi grill and enjoyed the show as our food was prepared table-side. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees, and the gyoza was an excellent appetizer. The fried rice was amazing! My son got a complementary dessert, which was a nice touch. The fun and entertaining atmosphere make this the ideal place for a special celebration. The staff makes you feel special, and the food is great!
google avatar

Yelp
My son found this place on Instagram or TikTok or somewhere. It was my first time at such an upscale restaurant. The service was top notch. Nathan P was an exceptional server. Constant refilling of drinks, offers of more or others, and quite accommodating. The food was absolutely decadent. Their prices are expensive but worth every penny. If you're looking for a night out to feel like a star or impress a date - go to Musashis.

Yelp
Service: 6/10. Food: 7/10. Ambiance: 10/10. Came for a reserved birthday dinner on a Friday night. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our table which was reserved over a week in advance. Once seated, we waited over 30 minutes for our food to begin to be cooked. I got the Goma chicken with added shrimp. I'm glad they were able to accommodate for a combination not available on the menu. **if you check in on Yelp, you can get a free dessert but beware of the fine print that states you must spend $35 on your entree** The food was full of flavor and plentiful. I ate half and took half home for leftovers. If you're looking for a fun night with a group of friends, this is a great place to come. But, if you're looking for a place to be consistent with speed and service, I'm afraid this restaurant does have some work to do.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was as great as expected. Tiger was very accommodating to the needs of those around our table. And the entire staff was friendly. Food was served in an entertainment fashion. Delicious!

Yelp
So the restaurant was good and bad at the same time. My family has five in it two of which have a gluten allergy that's quite severe when we made the reservation they told me that they had mini gluten-free options and just about everything could be made gluten-free however when we showed up to the actual restaurant, that was not the case. Nothing on the hibachi at all could be made because they won't use soy sauce, so 95% of the menu was unable for my wife and child. They actually ended up leaving the restaurant while the rest of us finished eating. The remaining three of us did enjoy our meal. The food was excellent. Service was great. It was just very disappointing that someone told us over the phone that they had plenty of wood free options, which wasn't the case. Highly recommend for someone who doesn't have a gluten allergy, would not recommend at all for someone who does .

Yelp
This was my first time at Musashis! I appreciated them accommodating us at the last minute though on open table it said they had no open reservations after 7. We needed up getting a spot for two at the grill at 7:30. We decided on Gyoza to start and it was cooked well. Would order again. We also did a flight of sake that we got right before the chef started his show. We got an instant surprise when one of our sake was spilled over because the chefs spatula flipped and knocked it over - we were kinda disappointed because there was no apology for this and no comp after losing a whole glass of sake. We enjoyed our dinner for two which came with shrimp, steak and chicken for $60 and green tea ice cream for dessert. We both agreed that for this price the portion sizes were kind of small. But overall everything tasted great just disappointed in the chef's show and the portions.

Yelp
Here for the nignt and wanted something good. Dylan was our chef and he was so amazing, he was fun and attentive. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Over priced food. Thought we'd try it but wasn't impressed at all. There are better alternatives just down the road. Save your money.
google avatar

Yelp
Musashi's is our go to place when we want hibachi. Date nights, celebrations, family nights. This place is great. The chefs put on a show adding flare to the presentation of your meal. My personal favorite meal is the steak and shrimp with fried rice. Add some sake to your meal for a little extra razzle dazzle. Reservations strongly suggested.
google avatar

Ra'Londa W.

Yelp
The food is just okay. I like Benihana hibachi better, but that's my opinion. The service is what will make me come back to this place.

Dianne G.

Yelp
Our first experience with a Japanese steakhouse. My son chose his restaurant to celebrate his birthday. There were many other birthdays, being celebrated in this facility, and I can see why the food was prepared before us by a very talented chef, who included our whole family in the preparation of the food, the meal was individualized for each of us and was out of this world delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone with a special occasion to celebrate, take your special someone on a date,or just a night out with your wife. My family and I will surely be back!
google avatar

Jacy H.

Yelp
Went to celebrate my husband's birthday and had a great time. Definitely lives up to the hype.
google avatar

Yelp
Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here, it was so fun our cook Dylan did such a great job entertaining everyone. The food the great. Make sure you make a reservation if you want hibachi! Definitely recommend the calamari!
google avatar

Yelp
There is always a happy buzz here! The staff is always smiling! Nathan our waiter was 100% on point! Couldn't have asked for anyone better! The food was delish too! Try the gyoza or any of the grilled kebobs. We had the tuna and scallion, beef and asparagus wrapped in bacon. The asparagus was still crispy! Delish! End it all with the green tea ice cream! You can't go wrong! You'll be so happy!

Yelp
First TIMER, I must say this restaurant is Amazing. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the Service, we decided to sit on the outside patio instead on the inside and that was the best part especially when u have kids. I ordered the Succulent Scallops dinner with a side of Steak, magnificent dish and my kiddos and husband ordered from the sushi bar they were in heaven. Thanks for having us! Will be back

Yelp
What can I say... hibachi is always a wonderful experience! From the food, to the service, to the impressive culinary show... Musashi's should be at the top of your list if you're looking for an entertaining & memorable dining experience! Musashi's is taking steps to keep their patrons safe by limiting seating, partition separation and mask enforcement. Be sure to make a reservations days in advance if you're trying to dine on a weekend. This is a popular spot for obvious reasons. Now for the food.... wow! I had the teriyaki salmon hibachi and it was cooked beautifully! It was fresh, juicy and tender. The veggies were packed full of flavor and the fried rice was heavenly! No shame in asking for some extra garlic butter because seriously.... it was the best! Their cocktail list is quite impressive! Shoutout to the mixologist behind the bar. And the deserts.... go ahead and treat yourself to the tempura ice cream. You won't regret it. Our hibachi chef was incredible! Not only was the food wonderful, but his skills were amazing! Our table couldn't keep our eyes off of him. He was cracking jokes and mesmerizing our minds with his skills. And our waitress was absolutely incredible! She was attentive and when she found out our dinner was a celebration, she took a group photo of us and printed it off in a Musashi's customized frame. It brought us to tears. Thank you so much for making our night so special!
google avatar

Aliah J.

Yelp
Love the energy and food every time . Loved the hostess stand workers! Will was able to request and make sure they made me a good virgin mango daiquiri. Only sucked being hungry and having to wait for the late party that had a reservation set for 6 & our area was a little dirty and we say by the dirty dish cart all night while we ate but Thank you to will and our hibachi chef though!
google avatar

Tim T.

Yelp
Great yakitori and other meat skewers. Very good wagyu sliders as well. Second time here. Only minor gripe was that the skewers were slightly cold and could have been warmed up more. Haven't had the grill-side hibachi yet, but imagine that may be the ideal dining experience (in a group).
google avatar

Yelp
The best sushi, hands down! Family favorite for sushi! The house special 1 is my absolute fav

Yelp
Excellent service, the food was prepared well and very flavorful. This place is efficiently run as well. Overall, would highly recommend it!

Yelp
Musashi's was a pretty cool spot! The interior was great, atmosphere was great, and it's a really nice place for a night out with friends. Got the spicy salmon roll, the sassy shrimp roll, and the Crazy Cajun roll. The sushi was alright, with the Crazy Cajun roll being the best out of the three. The rice definitely needed a little more seasoning to it, but on the bright side - they were really generous with the portions of the fish and the rolls were generally rather big. Boyfriend got the NY steak that came with some vegetables, salad, and fried rice. Steak and vegetables were alright. Portions were generous here too. Fried rice had a wonderful smokiness to it, which I liked! But it did need a little more seasoning to the fried rice. I think the showstopper might just be the dessert we got - green tea, with dark chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Yum. The molten lava chocolate cake was rather good too! Value wise...it was just okay, and service was alright too. Think it's a good place for a night out, at least!
google avatar

Abe W.

Yelp
Have been here in so long, but it's quite possibly the best hibachi in OKC! We had the dinner for two. It came with clear soup, fried rice, steak, chicken and shrimp! Everything was cooked to perfection! Our server Nikki was so great and took great care of us
google avatar

Katie Jo H.

Yelp
I had a great night at Musashi's with my bf, however I wasn't blown away with the hibachi meals. The starters were excellent, however it seems too expensive. The bartenders and staff were very friendly! I'll give it 5 stars for ambience, it's pretty inside and I like the decor, more upscale than other hibachi grills I've been to. The robata items were very good, the bacon wrapped scallops were delicious! The tuna and scallion was good, the tuna was cooked a bit more than I like but it had good flavor. My favorite item was the sashimi special, $14 for 2 slices of yellowtail, salmon, and escolar with jalapeño, cilantro, and lemon. This was my favorite dish the entire evening. Now for the hibachi, I saw other yelp reviews stating the fried rice tastes off, I agree. It seems like there is curry powder in it. I love curry, however I didn't like the flavor in the fried rice. It just didn't work for me. I ordered the filet and lobster, the lobster was over cooked and a bit tough. Overall the hibachi items were just meh, and I wasn't a fan. If I go back it will be for the robata/sushi items only.
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
Having never been to a Hibachi, my expectations were pretty low. Usually I'm not one for "gimmicky" type experiences as the food seems to take a back seat. However, surprisingly, I ended up really enjoying my time here. High points obviously start with the experience of the showmanship. The food also tasted pretty good for what it is as well. The fried rice is strong with allspice, so just expect that and you'll be fine. Salads are great, and the dinner special for two was a great value for steak, chicken, and shrimp. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Firstly, our waitress left a lot to be desired, she got our order wrong twice and seemed to be a little out of her element; the chef more than made up for it thankfully with his great service. Secondly, the Wagyu from the Tataki appetizer must have been like barely Grade 1 Wagyu, a disappointment for $30 for about 2oz of meat. Lastly, the place seems dated, dirty, and just... needs a good weekend scrub down or something. Look up at the air vent when you walk in, or around the floor of the grill station and you'll see what I mean. Overall, nitpicks aside, it is a cool place that will live and die by its chefs.
google avatar

Chäryl Z.

Yelp
The fried rice was burnt, it also has some Indian type spices in it that did not go with the food. The chicken was tuff also. I wouldn't waste the money.
google avatar

Chuck H.

Yelp
Oh neat to have a Tappanyaki styled restaurant here locally! Be sure to make reservations. Additional fees apply for a party size of 6 and larger. Definitely an experience to have a chef cook the entire tables' food right in front of you. The food and portion sizes of the meat was a 3/5, but to have a fiery performance along with your meal is something you cannot get anywhere else!
google avatar

Whitney A.

Yelp
I always like to go to Mushashis for my birthday. The chefs are fun and get everyone at the table involved. The food is reasonably priced and tastes amazing!
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
Ambiance and service was good. Had a reservation and was seated within 10 mins. We sat at the hibachi grill and everything was very very bland. And why do they put teriyaki sauce on everything here in OKC ? All 3 of us were very disappointed. They also did not have noodles with the hibachi which idk if that's just a Oklahoma thing but that was disappointing. I usually don't care about how much I spend at restaurants but man I feel like $210 was wasted because none of us enjoyed the food.

Davonna M.

Yelp
The food is exceptionally good quality. The service is exemplary. What a great place to experience a wonderful evening!
google avatar

Shatia S.

Yelp
I'd return! Great vibe and food was smack and broke da mouf Ginger steak chicken and shrimp hibachi w/ Moscow mule
google avatar

Tabitha C.

Yelp
So hibachi is hibachi. However, this is THE place to be for good sushi and patio hangs. The sushi is great. Absolutely beautiful and delicious. We had all different kinds of sushi and I was very impressed with all of them. I wasn't expecting this place to be such a hidden gem for sushi. Their patio is gorgeous too, so the two go hand in hand. The service seems to be a bit hit or miss based off some of the other reviews I've seen. I've always had really good experiences with the staff though. The patio waiters are usually excellent and super over the top. Short waits and good service. The prices are a little high, but this a nicer establishment than most sushi places. They bring hot towels to you when you sit down, which I think is pretty fancy. It's a very nice place to relax. Yet another win on Western!
google avatar

Janee' T.

Yelp
Had the hibachi and was excited about the fried rice. Ordered the meal for 2 and honestly the best thing about it was the veggies. Rice had no flavor, chicken no flavor and dry, steak was ehh, but mostly was so disappointed in the rice. It just reminded me of why I'm not really a fan. The cowboy sushi was delicious, best part of the meal oh and the soup was good too.

Ashlynn C.

Yelp
Went on a date night. Didn't make a reservation but we were able to get a spot at a table immediately which was nice. We ordered the gyoza appetizer and goma (sesame) chicken entree. The gyoza was okay the flavor was good. It reminded me of an egg roll but it was extremely greasy. The chicken came with the option of soup or salad and also fried rice. I really liked the soup. The rice was rather disappointing. Now for the chicken the flavor was good but I found a hair in my food. Thankfully after finding the hair we told the waitress and we got that entree for free.
google avatar

Corey M.

Yelp
The chefs are always fun and keep you and your guest laughing. The food is always good. I've been coming here since 2004 and I've never had a bad dish. Great place for a date night or a group.
google avatar

Richard N.

Yelp
This is a typical Japanese steakhouse, with the typical show. The table was much smaller, which I actually liked, and the cook was certainly an engaging entertainer. The place is very clean, and may be perceived as elegant, I can only imagine the ambience at night throughout the establishment. The waitress was very attentive and eager to take orders at our 4 person table, and never one waited to provide refills on drinks, which I loved. I ordered the salmon which was perfectly cooked with fried rice and extra onion. Shrimp doesn't accompany the lunch portion, and each order is given a choice of soup or salad. Although the menu price was decently listed, they didn't offer any specials that I saw from other Yelpers! Nonetheless, my lunch was delicious, but I should've skipped out on the NY ROLL which was just OK. I'd highly recommend...
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
This is the best hibachi in OKC! The reviews speak for themselves. Entertaining and delicious. The flavor was unmatched. This place is great for a birthday party, special occasion, or date night. Portions are a good size. We split the geisha special between 2 people and it was plenty.

C H.

Yelp
Prices are super high for the amount of food you get. Lacking seasoning in everything.

Isabella M.

Yelp
The food & the show is amazing! Ambiance is nice everything is decorated Asian style. Definitely one of the better Hibachi places in OKC!
google avatar

Lizbeth T.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful! And very clean, our chef was amazing, he made our meal look beautiful but also taste delicious. The soup is perfect, the dressing on my salad was a bit strong on the ginger taste but still delicious, make sure to save room for dessert, the green tea ice cream is so refreshing.

Jessica W.

Yelp
PLEASE GET A NEW BLENDER. I really want the frozen daiquiris back. It would be a 5 star if not for this.
google avatar

Kelli T.

Yelp
We really enjoy Musashis. Normally we get the dinner for two. I enjoy the steak and shrimp. Not a huge fan of the chicken but the hubs likes it. Fried rice is amazing and the cocktails are always very good. Meeting others seated with us is always fun.
