This place has definitely had it's ups and downs. It was excellent 5 years ago, then went slowly downhill with several changes in ownership. Happy to say that the new owner is doing an amazing job - there is the same basic menu, but the quality of the entrees is back up to the previous high standards. The sushi is fresh and the nigiri and rolls have generous portions. Service is friendly and the free barley tea is a nice touch,. I've become a regular again.

Google
Loved it! Kind staff, freshly made-to-order. Husband and I had lunch there for the first time yesterday. Can't wait to return with the family!

Mahala Willard

Google
The sushi was okay, but the portion size was fantastic for the price. I was particularly fond of the tuna roll I had, it included green onion which was a great touch. The barley tea was also delightful. Atmosphere was good, and the staff was fantastic. My partner would likely go regularly if we lived in the neighborhood.

This place is amazing! Stopped in for a late night meal after a show. Got 3 rolls and two starters and it only cost $36! What a treat. The rolls were very good and so fresh, too. Wonderful, we’ll definitely be back.

Google
Very friendly staff and great sushi! The salmon nigiri was so tasty. We got rolls too and they were just delicious. Price is very reasonable as well. They are doing indoor dining. Will definitely come back!

Google
we ordered for takeout today and arrived a bit early. An employee told us we could sit while we waited and even brought us some tea! the sushi was ready in just a few minutes and was delicious

Google
The pricing of the food was fair. The staff were nice. The sushi was decent, although it did appear that the salmon on my nigiri had been out for a while.

Google
First of all, I really am not a fan of kiosk based enter your own order restaurants that then ask you for a 25% tip. Restaurant owners need to pay their people a living wage instead of making paying their employees our problem especially at a kiosk restaurant. The sushi was not very good and I've gotten better sushi at Safeway. The atmosphere in service was minimal, the bare minimum and certainly not worth the $60 that we paid to get two sushi rolls and two cans of soda that we had to ask for ice and a glass for. This restaurant is not much more than a food truck in a brick and mortar setting and an expensive one at that.

Yelp
Musashi's is my favorite go to for amazing sushi. The quality never disappoints along with the amazing customer service. This is my husband and I's favorite date night spot. Everyone's so nice and friendly. This time I ordered the chirashi bowl with no rice (trying to be skinny sue me) and my husband ordered some nigiri as usual. Our favorites are the seared salmon nigiri, spicy tuna roll, and the chirashi bowl but literally everything is amazing). This place should have a line out the door! Best fresh fish & prices in Portland by far. See you next week Musashi's!

Yelp
This is a great little place for fresh good food. The decor is maybe lacking a little but the food and service were great. The sushi and gyoza were both fresh and prepared in a timely manner. The server and chef were both very friendly. The prices were also very modest. If you're in the area check it out.

Yelp
Highly recommend coming here for dinner and parking on one of the side streets close by and walk to see Peacock Lane after! Beats the traffic and you get yummy food! We have been to the Hillsboro location but this is our first time at the PDX Belmont street location. We came right at 5pm on a Thursday and was surprised upon walking in we were the only ones there but it quickly filled up later. Service was quick and friendly and the space is very bright and had plenty of tables for seating. For our party of 2 adults and 1 toddler, we ordered the perfect amount of food and a good variety to share for dinner. Husband ordered chicken Katsu plate which came with freshly fried crispy chicken cutlet, rice, grilled zucchini on a skewer (although it had a weird chemical taste to it not sure where from), and this tasty cold noodle salad. I got the beef sukiyaki bowl which also came with this yummy cold noodle salad which our toddler enjoyed very much! And generous amount of thinly-cut beef with onions and sweet sauce. We split the special Musashi roll topped with spicy tuna (you can also do spicy salmon) and that one was both of favorite! Overall fresh and delicious all around for reasonable pricing between $13-20 per dish/dinner plate with good portions. We didn't have any leftovers! However, if I were to be critical, it would be the ordering system: they provide you with a laminated menu and a dry erase marker and you circle what you want to order. I'm not sure this is the most effective way as the marker was running out and luckily we didn't need any substitutions or modifications to our dishes but it seems like it would be mote efficient if the order was taken by the wait staff to capture everything when ordering. Anyway, it's a cool place for lunch or dinner for both sushi and other combo meals and looks like the garage door open in the summer adding to that patio vibe. Come give them a try!

Yelp
Grabbing a quick last minute take out dinner here while we're visiting friends in Portland, OR. We enjoyed the Oregon roll which has tempura shrimp in the middle along with seared salmon & fish eggs on top. The spicy tuna roll just fresh & goes well with the Oregon roll. And the beef & chicken was just Ok since it was a little on the dry side for us.

Yelp
For some reason I really wanted to like this a lot, but it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't blow my mind away either. A little less than content actually. Comparing the price to the meals, it was a little spendy considering I wasn't full off of it. The chick teriyaki was charred grilled and that was all I tasted and it was a bit cold. The nigiri and roll was just okay too. Service was great though, well attentive and friendly. The store front itself is well light, spacious and very cute. Can definitely recommend a date here if they are not a sushi connoisseur lol

Yelp
I really want to love this place. The fish is fresh, the price is right, and it's right down the street from my house. We eat sushi every week, and keep trying to make this place a part of the rotation but can't get into it. What's good: + Outstanding lunch special - great price if you're a nigiri lover + Large cuts of fresh fish and really reasonable for a solo diner or couple who want to try more things My gripes: - Take out service is not consistent. It usually takes 20-30 minutes longer to prepare than the estimate, and their Clover website simply doesn't work sometimes. I find it's best when you go dine-in the restaurant. - But when you dine in, it's sort of a cold ambiance, and there isn't a great selection of drinks. The seats are hard and cold. It *should* be a great take out place for this reason, but then, see my issue above. - Slim selection of speciality rolls when you want that vibe.

Yelp
The best part about Musashi's PDX is their service. Staff is extremely friendly and enthusiastic, and are demonstrably appreciative of their customers' patronage. One very nice touch is the complimentary pot of hot tea delivered as soon as you're seated. I was also very happy to see onigiri on the menu as this is not commonly seen on offer at other restuarants. Prices are VERY low. I and my friend ordered a comically large amount of food, and the total bill, which I verified to make sure they didn't forget to charge us for half of our order, was much lower than expected. The food itself, to be honest, wasn't terribly great. It seems to match the price, but I've been to other sushi restaurants with similar pricing that have provided much tastier food. The service here is SO great, I really feel badly that I cannot rate the food higher, but it is just not up to the same level as the service. If you're in the neighborhood and have a hankering for sushi, Musashi's is definitely worth stopping into, but I'd not recommend making a special trip to go there.

Yelp
With trying to find a new sushi spot in Portland, I settled on this one. Overall the sushi here was alright, but I had an enjoyable experience. They didn't seem to have the highest quality fish but still was overall great for the price. We loved the roll that came with the lunch set, to which I ordered during dinner time. It came with 5 nigiris and one roll. I also ordered 2 additional nigiri, seared salmon and scallop, and fried tempura. The tempura was not prepped to Japanese style and it was a bit different but good enough.

Yelp
I stopped by Musashi in Portland a little while ago for dinner. Overall, I'd give my experience 8.5/10: - Seared Salmon Nigiri: 7.5/10: Average, not as searched/torched as expected - Albacore Nigiri: 8.5/10: Quite fresh and nice portion size - Hamachi Nigiri: 8.8/10: Fresh, good hamachi that's worth trying - BakeMe Roll: 9.3/10: One of the best rolls I've had, the sauce adds flavour to the roll but is not too overwhelming (like many other rolls), Seemingly just a fancy california roll but everything complemented - Hamachi Collar: 8.5/10: Large portion of Hamachi Collar (2 piece), Grilled nicely but lack a bit of a flavour, whether if it's more salt or soy sauce - Chopped Scallop Roll: 8.5/10: Good pieces of scallop, fresh but lacked flavour - Scallop Nigiri: 8.8/10: Fresh piece of scallop - Unagi Nigiri: 8.8/10: Fairly generous piece of good unagi - Gyoza: 7.8/10: Cooked well, but taste like generic store bought

Yelp
People like it because it is inexpensive. It's not as good as Whole Foods sushi. Not much else to say.

Yelp
Our culinary adventure at Musashi's was nothing short of a delightful gastronomic journey. We explored a diverse assortment of rolls and nigiri, and each dish proved to be a flavorful masterpiece in its own right. The extensive menu provided a plethora of options, catering to a wide range of tastes, and the freshness of the ingredients was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. One of the highlights of our visit was the lack of a long wait, as we were promptly seated. The tranquility of the restaurant during our visit allowed us to savor our experience without the hustle and bustle of a crowded setting. Our server played a pivotal role in enhancing our dining experience. They were not only quick in taking our orders but also generously offered some expert recommendations that added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. Their knowledge and friendly demeanor contributed to the overall hospitality of the restaurant. Parking, often a concern in busy areas, proved to be quite convenient, with ample options available in the nearby neighborhoods. The ease of finding a parking spot and the short walk to the restaurant only added to the convenience of our visit, making it a hassle-free experience from beginning to end. In conclusion, Musashi's not only impressed us with its delectable dishes but also with its comfortable seating, attentive service, and easy accessibility. It's a dining destination that we look forward to revisiting in the future.

Yelp
Between 5-5:30 is a great time to go if you want to avoid the crowd, we had the large space to ourselves on a Friday night. They only had two two people working, but service flowed without incident. Their miso soup is one of the better in Portland, but they serve it with a spoon which is odd for a Japanese soup. The Musashi roll was excellent, but I wasn't fond of the Musashi bites as they had an odd sweetness to it. The tempura roll was also very good, but the rice was too cold. Then again, seems like room temperature soft rice is only found at high-end places. The Chirashi bowl was better than average. Value wise it's good, i.e., you don't feel ripped off. Lastly, they don't employ the lame inner-Portland tend where you stand in line to order, get your own utensils, etc.
google avatar

Yelp
We got there right as they opened and basically had the place to ourselves. People started trickling in around 5:45, and it was pretty busy by the time we left at 6:15. The complimentary green tea with our meal was a nice touch, perfect on a rainy day. We ordered two fresh salmon nigiri which were delicious. The pieces of salmon were huge and well worth the price. 5/5 They had a unique take on a Dragon Roll, where the unagi (eel) was inside the roll instead of on top like most places. Unfortunately, I felt like that minimized the flavor from the eel. I prefer the eel on top. 3.5/5 The BakeMe Roll has two versions. We had the one topped with spicy scallops (they also have a spicy salmon version). The spiciness was just right. I just wish the roll was a teensy bit larger. 4/5 The Oregon Roll was the best roll we had. The flavors and the crunch really worked well together. The spicy salmon on top was really good (I would've been happy with a bowl of rice topped with that salmon lol). And the tempura stayed crunchy throughout the entire meal. 4.5/5

Yelp
Me and my partner came in here for lunch and decided to get 5 different dishes to try. It's wasn't too busy and we got seated right away. We got the Musashi tuna and salmon rolls, gyozas, onigiri, and Musashi bites. I would not get Musashi bites again just because it was almost the same thing as the rolls but the has a tofu instead of seaweed on the outside. The fish was such good quality and it melts in my mouth. We got to try onigiri and I wish it had more filling compared to the rice. Definitely will be coming back here again for the Salmon Musashi Roll. I can't wait to come here again and try their other rolls on the menu.

Shayla H.

Yelp
It was delicious! Service was good and the chef gave us complimentary spicy salmon roll.

Yelp
Boy inflation has really robbed us of what an affordable yet authentic portioned sushi experience should be. I admit I got lured by the gorgeous chirashi bowl photo that's part of this business' front page on Yelp. My bowl was much less than desired if I compare it to year's past. That's not necessarily the fault of the business, more of the economic climate. Nonetheless there was mild disappointment. Putting that aside, they've been here for 2+ years and are doing something right. They still have very competitive pricing and overall I would say solid portion and quality. I think freshness is there as well. If you want more artistic expression with your sushi I've seen better presentation but for me it's all about freshness and value and they still have it. Rumor is they are planning a Hillsboro location, I wish them well and hope they open it!

Yelp
Come here for sushi if you want tasty and affordable sushi! Restaurant was relatively empty on a Saturday evening but don't let that deter you

Dasia M.

Yelp
Ordered through postmates. We got two rolls, the Oregon roll and the Shrimp tempura roll. My partner enjoyed the taste of his Oregon roll, though it was pretty frustrating for him to figure out how to eat. These rolls were so huge, they lacked any structural integrity and just completely fell apart. Every single piece!! The two rolls we got barely fit in the container they smudged them into. My tempura shrimp roll had unbelievably bitter cucumber in it, but it was easy enough to pick out since the roll disintegrated between my chopsticks. I will say, we ordered like 30 minutes before closing. I wouldn't be surprised if that pissed someone in the kitchen off I can't even blame them, if that's the case. Either way, definitely don't order from here after 10 pm. I suspect the quality declines sharply that last hour before closing.

Haley Z.

Yelp
Not fresh... Not tasty.... Not authentic Japanese food.! Don't order the teriyaki!!! The sashimi is not fresh
google avatar

Yelp
Love musashi and love it even more that it's in happy valley now! Always solid and never disappoints! Right: musashi roll. I appreciate that their wasn't an overload of rice. Only thing was the crab salad inside was a bit more l wet and watery than I'm used to Left: salmon nigiri. Classic. Solid. Great deal. About $22

Yelp
I was a long time customer of Musashi's in Bellevue, WA and was absolutely hooked on their chirashi bowls (it was an weekly tradition at a certain point). Once I learned they had a location in PDX, I had to go. If it was the same quality fish and flavors as the Musashi's I remembered, this would soon become a go to. My friend and I went recently on a night where the restaurant was severely understaffed: 3 employees working all back of house and front of house. The restaurant wasn't packed but the staff was clearly struggling to keep up. Let this be the HUGE caveat to be kept in mind as I write the rest of this review. As a result, however, our experience was affected: 1. We ordered a round of hot sake that we never received. 2. Our food took a significant amount of time to come out. Again, understandable given the circumstances. 3. The quality of our food was not what it should have been - the sushi rolls we had were hastily cut and the rice in the Chirashi bowl tasted somewhat stale (and not as seasoned / well cooked as it should be been). All this I can attribute to the staffing level (or lack thereof) and I'm still more than willing to go back because of the quality of the food overall (rice aside). The fish is fresh and the hot food (we ordered the pork gyozas) was great. For sushi of this quality, the price point is an incredible deal. Overall, while our experience suffered as a result of severe understaffing - I'll be back and am excited for better experience.

Yelp
Among 3 adults and 2 toddlers, we ordered 2 Chirashi bowls, 1 dinner nigiri plate with spicy tuna rolls & salmon rolls, 2 Musashi rolls & 2 sukiyaki beef bowls. Chirashi bowl & dinner nigiri - 3/5 nothing too special about it Musashi rolls - 4/5 Sukiyaki beef bowls - 4/5 sweet, my kids liked it We parked in the residential area nearby. Service was good. Very very nice atmosphere. Would recommend if you're looking for a nice casual lunch/dinner spot!

Elise T.

Yelp
Amazing service and food! Ordered the oregon roll, loved it. Not many people here, came close to close and very accommodating.

Yelp
My husband and I are very picky when it comes to sushi having recently relocated to Portland from SF, we have very high standards...and Musashi time and time again more than meets our expectations! Saying we've tried so many sushi places in Portland is an understatement. We had all but given up when we found Musashi, and how lucky for us that it's just a quick walk from our house! We basically come here at least once a month now and the food and service is always fantastic! The sushi is by far the freshest we've had in Portland - my husband loves the salmon nigiri and my favorite is the Dragon roll! The prices are super reasonable as well, our bill always ends up being way less than we anticipate even with ordering drinks! Great sake selection as well! The inside ambiance is great - plenty of seating, great for date night and to meet up with friends! I Cannot recommend Musashi enough, it will continue to be our exclusive sushi spot in Portland!

Yelp
It's exactly like the Seattle locations but maybe better because it's currently right down the street. The staff was friendly and the food was consistent with the perfection I've come to expect. I got the Salmon Don, California Roll, yellow tail roll, scallop nigiri, and the new Musashi Roll. All were phenomenal and I'd recommend them. The portions were generous. Please please please try the spicy mayo.
google avatar

Carolina K.

Yelp
Dropped by for dinner and really enjoyed the the ambiance of the place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Ploy N.

Yelp
First reaction: That's a good-looking Chirashi Bowl! The taste was not bad too. Unfortunately, I've had fresher and better ones so got to stay true to my scale. They give you very thick slices of fish. I was a big fan of the Salmon and Hamachi, super luscious and delectable. The Unagi was also very delicious, made me want to get the unagi-don next time. Meanwhile, the Maguro, shrimp, and scallops were pretty standard, as well as an aburi fish which I wasn't sure what it was. The bowl came with a lot of rice and pickled ginger. Overall, a decent bowl for the price.
google avatar

Lainey H.

Yelp
My favorite go to sushi place in Seattle and so glad they have a portland location! Super fresh and buttery salmon! Crunchy tempura shrimp roll and the nigiri has the perfect fish to rice ratio!

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place since it opened in PDX and finally decided to make the trek over from hillsboro. It was nice that things are slowly getting back to normal so we could dine-in for the experience and having the food fresh. Upon entering, they had the standard precautions still in place with the spacing, sanitizer, plastic barriers and mask requirements. The space was very open and the vibe was good. The staff was very friendly and we were helped immediately and seated. The menu is fairly simple but not too little. It's nice that you're able to order by the piece so you can get odd numbers to customize. The meal came with complementary miso soup to start. We ordered an array of nigiri, musashi roll, and spicy creamy scallop roll. The musashi roll was very good; it had enough sauce to have a good sweet and savory flavor. All the nigiri tasted clean and the portions were very good. It gave you a full bite with each piece. The eel was juicy and so incredibly soft. My only critiques of the meal was I thought the creamy scallop items weren't quite creamy enough but dipping it in sauce solved that. Also the sweet shrimp didn't come with the heads dead fried like we were use to. They were also experimenting donut flavors that day and giving them out to the customers to try which was really cool. Spoiler Alert: the mysterious donut flavor we tried was melona ice cream flavor and it was really good. Overall we highly recommend this place on all aspects and will make this our staple sushi stop going forward. They are also working on getting their liquor license which will just make it even better :).

Yelp
Of course I had to choose sushi to be my first take out meal of the year! I have been wanting to try this new sushi spot, and I am glad I did. My order was prepared on time, and the staff was very friendly and greeted me promptly as I walked through the door. The quality of the sushi is pretty good, and the portions are huge! I was surprised by the size of the pieces of fish on the nigiri. The only critique I have would be the rice. It was a bit hard. But overall, it was very good. A few things to keep in mind are that the restaurant is currently only doing to-go orders and that it is street parking only, like most places on Belmont.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
Mufasa? Move faster? Moo Sashi? I'm not sure what the etymology of Musashi is, but I sure know this place is yummy! I ordered 2 different rolls. WOOOOOH! FRESHHHHH FISH up in here! Great quality. The rice quality was good as well. I think the ratio of rice to fish could have been a bit better as in more fish per rice capita. Nonetheless it was a good meal. I definitely need to come back to eat the chirashi bowl. I would encourage anyone who is wanting to eat some authenticious sushi to hit up this place. There are plenty of seating for groups of 2-6. ROLLing out. See you SUSHI.

Lynn L.

Yelp
My partner and I come to Musashi several times a month, and it's become our nearly weekly sushi date night. We also always bring friends and family here when they want good sushi in the city. Every person leaves happy, and we always get texts from them telling us their cravings for it. We love the FOOD. The fish quality, for such an unassuming place, is delicious and fantastic. We are grateful to sometimes get a cut of something special the chef gets in - fresh hamachi newly delivered, or salmon belly, or fatty tuna. The nigiri is where it's at here. It's a La carte, per piece, which might seem overpriced, but the cuts are GENEROUS when you compare against rolls. Also appreciate that the fish to rice ratio for nigiri is more accurate than most places (the photo you see in the black bowl is actually remnants of my Chirashi bowl - ALSO A KILLER DISH) We like the simplicity of the menu. No "sex on the beach" rolls or other weirdly named rolls (not trying to throw shade on other fantastic sushi restaurants that have great food, but the names kill me lol). They have just a few, but the nigiri and chirashi are truly the stars of the menu. If you want a roll though, highly recommend the Oregon roll. It's the one we get when we crave a roll (that's the large one in the picture, the other is just a spicy salmon roll) The space itself is basic but nice and airy with high ceilings and a nice garage door opening for warm summer months. We love how low key it is. The team is kind and warm. We love the service we get here - it's a small crew and they make magic happen quickly. Support them! And if they get slammed, be kind. They do everything with a smile, with care and hey - get yourself a Sapporo and chill out before you complain. It's a chill place, don't mess up the vibe. It's one of our favorite small businesses!

Boon B.

Yelp
I like the fish here but felt like the rice is a little lacking. Musashi roll and bake me roll are solid.
google avatar

Maria T.

Yelp
Amazing! Excellent birthday dinner. The nigiri portions are generous! Good value, and top notch salmon. 100% recommend.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Delicious food and great ambiance. The chicken katsu was tasty in particular. I will be returning.

Yelp
THE BEST GO TO PLACE EVER. This is my first time trying Mushashi's through my friends recommendation and I gotta say, it's easily on the top of my list. The service was quick and the food was aesthetically pleasing. Plus, everything was so fresh! The grilled chicken and beef skewers were juicy and packed full of a light, yet smokey flavor. Everything in the chirashi bowl just melts in your mouth and I appreciate how attentive and kind the staff is to ensure you have positive experience. Definitely coming back!

Josephine S.

Yelp
Their food was ok. We ordered skewers including mushrooms, zucchini and chicken. The mushrooms and zucchini were served cold and slathered with a really sweet sauce. The chicken skewers were quite dry - t's the same chicken served in the teriyaki plate. We made an order of the gyukaku and waited a while just to find out it wasn't available that night - it would've been very helpful if the cashier communicated that to us at the beginning. The sushi itself was only alright as they weren't the freshest. Overall, it was hard to justify eating here regardless of the price cause of the quality of the food.

Angie F.

Yelp
The prices charged at the register for each item were more than stated on the menu! when we mentioned it, they simply said "yeah, we are getting new menus"! Also, sushi was frozen and not edible. we will not be back.
google avatar

Jordan K.

Yelp
First time coming to this location, I have been to the one in Seattle and the food was great. Likewise for this spot. The chirashi bowl is just as I remember it with the fresh cuts of fish. We ordered a few rolls and nigiri to share. The rolls and nigiri are thick! The staff was very accommodating. This place can get busy, but you can head over across the street and grab a beer at food carts to wait.

jadea r.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. The salmon is fresh Monday and Thursday! The atmosphere is so chill. I feel relaxed eating here as a person with anxiety. Honestly the salmon is the best here.

Yelp
best sushi in portland!! i am from California and after moving to portland it is hard to find fresh sashimi, I've tried multiple places and it is not fresh. Affordable and great salmon! amazing customer service too + complimentary hot tea
google avatar

Chelsea G.

Yelp
An absolute gem! I love coming to Musashi's - the food and wonderful team are always on point. I usually get the Special Bento - chicken and beef skewers, a surprisingly good amount of sashimi, and this amazing egg noodle salad -- at an incredible price point! I love trying new spots but I continue to come back to Musashi's.
google avatar

Alexis F.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere & great staff! We ordered on of their specials, Musashi Bites (tuna) , and they did not disappoint!
google avatar

Justin P.

Yelp
Service is great, my review is specifically regarding the food. The quality of the fish is terrible. I ordered the chirashi bowl and some of the fish was still semi-frozen. The tuna thawed while sitting on the rice and left some of the rice drenched in tuna blood.
google avatar

Luis P.

Yelp
I live in the neigborhood and I come to Musashi's on a regular basis. The service is impeccable and friendly. But what makes me come back again and again is the Chirashi Bowl. It is made with fresh salmon, tuna, yellow tail, albacore, broiled eel, scallop, shrimp and flying fish roe over rice. It is delicious at an affordable price. I love it!
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
Gotta love a perfect lunch at Musashi's! Lunch special nigiri is simple and elegant, rounded out with some spicy onigiri (not pictured) and musashi bites (inari with some spicy tuna - sweet and savory and adorable). Lovely with hot tea on this chilly day. Perfect!

Yelp
Made reservations for 7:15 and was seated promptly. Ordered a bunch of stuff. You get a marker to mark down what you want on the menu. We marked off exactly what we wanted and the order was messed up. Rather than getting the musashi roll, we got a 6 piece spicy tuna roll. The waitress then acknowledged her mistake after looking over the menu that I had marked up and told us she would get the musashi roll in right away and for us to enjoy the spicy tuna roll cause it was on the house for the mistake. We didn't think twice and just paid the bill only to realize she never comped the spicy tuna roll. Wish it was taken care of right away rather than finding out later that she never took it off. Likely a honest mistake. But the confusion and verbally saying everything is taken care of but it wasn't makes the experience less enjoyable.

Yelp
I used to go to the original location in Seattle when I lived there years ago and decided to try their new portland location. Overall, good experience. The sushi quality was what I remembered it to be but the service was really lacking. They took a very long time to get our food out, which is fine since we ordered many different things. When it came time to leave no one offered us our check or to go box. Actually, we ended up walking up front to pay and almost had our leftovers thrown away by the employee bussing tables. It was not very busy so I wouldn't expect service to be this slow, also given the fact the original restaurant was typically at least 3 times busier with less staff than this location.

Yelp
Generous salmon portions. The rice it's lighter on the seasoning but it lets the fish shine through.
