Lyon is Taking Over as France's Global Gastronomy Capital

"The excellent Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon , is a bold statement as the Renzo Piano-designed building, showcases global art of all media, sometimes experimental, from the 1960s onward, as well as the Lyon Biennale." - Sophie Friedman

We really enjoyed the Nature & Technology exhibition that they have going on in June. The first floor was incredible especially during the weekday when you can take your time to wander through and absorb each exhibit in the way it was intended.

Some beautiful pieces and a few inspiring moments, but overall the collection felt a bit limited and not very well curated. The atmosphere could be improved to make the art stand out more. Still worth a short visit if you’re nearby.

They’re hosting a very unique exhibition. It’s definitely worth a visit if you have a city tour card.

The museum on its own is quite nice. However, the curator's complacency is disastrous. The only single task of not ruining the impression from the art pieces is masterfully failed by provincial pretentiousness of the descriptions written by the curators. If you ever visit this museum you can, in fact, do it two times: first just enjoy the artworks and the second time just enjoy the overwhelming ego of the ones who organized it.

I really enjoyed the current exhibition which was thought provoking and interesting. The exhibits are very well collected and presented, with enough clear information - in both French and English - without being overwhelming. The spaces were adjusted well to each exhibit as was the lighting and sound. Clearly a lot of expert thought has gone into to this exhibition - my thanks and appreciation to the managers, technicians artistic specialists. The staging and the building did its job of disappearing into the background without ever upstaging or intruding. Thank you.

Spent a very happy Saturday afternoon here after a work conference. The work is engaging, and passionately curated and presented. Some of it is cool, some funny, some weird.. just what you want from a modern art gallery. Many people have said it's small, but I didn't find this at all there lots to see, but not so much that you can't do it all in a couple of hours. A great experience thank you!

The museum is smaller than expected but I like the different artworks. Unless you had something to do in the area (ex : a picnic at the park), I would not go out of my way to visit this establishment since it's so far away from the presqu'île.

I really enjoyed my visit. The museum was not crowded, and the exhibitions were thoughtfully laid out. Recommend!
