This was museum #4 on my very first day in Paris. I've been walking around all day, very tired, still wearing the same clothes I wore even on the airplane ride, but I wanted to push through and visit another museum.
And I'm glad I came across this one. This museum is also part of the museum pass, so if you have the pass, the admittance is free. Some museums offer bypassing the queue if you have the pass.
Note: No flash photography here and you can bring a backpack, though you can't wear it on your back.
This museum offers a lot of great modern and contemporary art from artists around the world. There are some impressionism art here as well, but most are contemporary. They had other temporary exhibits for price admission that wasn't offered under the museum pass and most people were waiting in queue for those exhibits, but I just stuck with the permanent exhibits.
One can be fully immersed into the main exhibit for hours in this museum. Really nice collections on hand. At the bottom floor they had movies/documentaries. Kinda weird, but I guess it's part of the attraction.
But my favorite was the Gaza exhibit. A whole room dedicated to photos of this war torn land. The pictures of each person in Gaza were graphic; showing a loss of limb, eyes, scars etc. There were many photos of destroyed buildings too. You get that feeling that you are part of the making of this exhibit. It was that good, though disturbing.
Again, I would recommend this museum. For both the casual art lover or for the random tourist. You will leave here a lot more learned.
