Musée Maillol

Nice museum, went to visit 'Le Chat' exhibition. Well put together and very funny. Staff were nice and welcoming. Permanent exhibition also available to see, with work from Maillol.

Fantastic museum. Well curated exhibition

I visited the Robert Doisneau photographic exhibition which I felt was well curated, telling the story of this very interesting photographer and then breaking the exhibition down in to themes or periods of his work, including a collaboration with the artist Maillol. I find his photographs provide an historical story of life, mainly in Paris but in other areas of France also. Fascinating.

The museum is centered around the work of Aristide Maillol. Temporary exhibitions complement his work. The exhibitions are of smaller volume.

What a gem! Small, but awesome museum. The Andres Serrano exhibit was incredible. I highly recommend and had a lovely time visiting

I enjoyed both special exhibition and permeant exhibition so much. It was impressive that the curator try to merge contemporary works into the permeant exhibition. Also enjoyed free audio guide done by the artist himself. Thumbs up for the thoughtfulness :-)

Such a great opportunity to see french photography.

This is a very nice museum which is not far from Rodin's museum and house. I have just seen Fujita exhibition and I was absolutely delighted. The visual was very good. The text, staging and scenery were adequate for the artist Fujita who spent much time having fun and creating at the same pace.

I saw the Steve Mccurry exhibit of his photographs and the museum was great. Very clean and easy to navigate.

What a lovely little museum - if we hadn't been staying around the corner, I'm not sure we would have stumbled upon the Maillol, but I'm so glad we did and just in time for a delightful Canaletto show. The Maillol work alone wouldn't be enough to draw me here (though there are some lovely voluptuous sculptures!), but the special exhibitions are, I hear, consistently excellent. If you're looking for a break from the tourist path, this is worth checking out.

It's a little odd that a museum that sells a 3.59€ iPhone app as an audio guide would not let visitors take pictures. If they wanted to be modern, they would understand that visitors like to share what they see with their friends at home. Odder still, the staff was very quick to let me know that photography was forbidden (I had missed the inconspicuous icon near the entrance, like everyone else). But just before, a guy in a wheelchair got fed up of waiting for them to put rails on the stairs. So he climbed out of his chair and crawled up the stairs. If you are afraid that old-fashioned Parisian service friendliness is disappearing, you might enjoy a visit to Musée Maillol.
