Small and simple museum that reviews the interesting history of the Carnival in Montevideo. There is also a section dedicated to Carlos Paez Vilaró and the influence of the carnival and its culture in his works of art.

A fun museum to visit and learn about the history of Carnaval and see the different costumes throughout history. For 150 UYU, it's well worth the price. Be forewarned that all the signage is in Spanish and compared to other museums, it's on the smaller side.

Amazing performance! Some of the most powerful voices I've ever heard. The singers sang with all of their hearts and souls!

Visited as part of cruise excursion. Toured the museum after the carnival show.

Nice , very welcoming. Nice customs and history if carnival in Uruguay and Montevideo. Could have more live, and other interaction though. In its current setup, at most 30 min and visit is complete.

Fantastic! Fun place, and remarkable costumes. Well worth going, and it is close to some of the best food offerings in town, like Sometimes Sunday or Mercado del Puerto (pricey, but many excellent little restaurants).

The Carnival Museum is close to the Port Market. There is an admission fee, it’s small but it has all kinds of carnival costumes, quite a lovely place, except we missed the performance that day

Lovely museum, I spent an hour here. Parallel Halls, one of which is devoted to the flamboyant Carnival costumes and the other has a large screen playing scenes from previous carnivals as well as old photos and other memorabilia. Right at the back, outside, there is a small open air stage with seating. They are using this for carnival shows, next one starting at 9.00pm tomorrow, 29th Feb.
