Museum Fiasco opens as a bar with art at Area15 in November - Eater Vegas

"Museum Fiasco opens on November 13 featuring 'Cluster,' an installation by Playmodes Studio that will run through 2022. The large-scale audio-visual experience combines lights and music that strobe to change the look of the room as they tell a story, offering a 360-degree experience that 'explores the chaotic feeling of being inside the kernel of a glitchy computer processor'. It takes over the mezzanine level of the venue." - Susan Stapleton

Google
Reasonably priced interactive museum and art show. Lots of fun lots of tripping messages and lots of illusions for your entertainment. I went there on a holiday there was barely even a line. I was able to buy tickets right there although there was an option to buy them in advanced it doesn't seem like I needed to. The service for friendly and the guy was really cool and directed us where to go and explained everything to us. Fun quick 30 minute experience when you're at area 15

Google
I can't believe they even charge for this event.- **update**thank you for the owner's reply. I dont know what an empty room with flashing lights has to do with diversity. Also, when you say most of the people are captivated by this, your 2.4 rating on Google is telling a different story.

Google
This was one of the most artistic and visually impressive exhibits I have ever seen. It was like ASMR sound visualized. I felt like I was walking through obscurity. 10/10 would go again. Ignore the bad reviews, most of them are complaining about the exhibit because they went in with a medical condition that is not conducive for the experience given, or they somehow literally took this exhibit's title literally as a "Museum". Of all they ways you can spend $20 in Vegas, give this place a go. It's a bargain for the experience you get. Take a tab/dose, meet god, enjoy. I sure as hell did.

Google
The biggest scam in Vegas. I could get pick pocketed and still feel less ripped off. It's just a room with fog and underwhelming flashing lights. It wasn't impressive even for 30 seconds. I can't believe we paid $40 for two people. The owners are probably going to leave some gas-lighting comment like "sorry it's not your jam", like my experience was subjective, but this place is objectively bad.

Google
Glad I got a level 2 pass otherwise I'd feel cheated. The exhibit was like being in a nightclub minus the bar and crowd. I did not understand why it was called a museum fiasco other than all the exhibits were stolen lol. If anyone can find something artistic about this exhibit then this is for you.

Google
Very cool place to visit inside Area 15. The fee to enter was around $20 to enter the attraction. The description of this place could be loud music with bright lights but it is more than that. It's like some mad genius combine led lights, electronic music, infinite mirrors and you get to be in the center of this beautiful acoustical living art work. Go in with an open mind and you'll be impress. You get a wrist band so you can come as many times as want throughout the day. It's hard to beat the price of admission because this is bargain especially being in Las Vegas, Nevada. So have some fun and try it.

Google
I’m honestly surprised by all the poor reviews. Every time I go to Vegas, I come here. I love getting lost in the deep of the music with the lights. Photos and videos do not do justice. This is an exhibit where you become one heart beat with the lights and sound. (And this is all 💯 % sober LOL). I’ll be in LV again in September gor my son’s 21st birthday and I will plan another outing here. I hope he likes it as much as I do!

Google
Light, art, sound, infinity mirrors, & you walking through the space. It is all you need. You are transported in this space. The exhibit normally runs all day long. There are 3 different lights shows to see. You are able to go back multiple times to see each. I highly recommend the experience.

Yelp
Museum Fiasco was really really cool. It was simple but we definitely enjoyed our time in there. It's basically one huge room and you're given glasses at the start which gives hallucigenic effects! Sometimes you see double, sometimes you see the transparency through people. It's very trippy. If you also want some cool pictures, put your phone lense against the inside of the glasses!

Yelp
I love contemporary art. I love electronic music and EDM. Bring them together in a totally immersive, free roam space of LED, fog and a wall of sound in an interpretative installation where the viewers themselves are living participants and boom! Pure brilliance. It's loud. Feeling the music is part of the experience. Wander the space. Watch people shooting and posting vids seemingly missing the live experience. Join in with those dancing or sway with the loaded or drunk laughing at nothing in particular. Those sitting on the floor memorized or storming out bored and saying they wasted their $18. It all adds to the energy of the installation and keeps it ever evolving. Stunning if you let yourself become a part of it It is worth the cost and an hour of your time. Experiences vary in length and re-entry is permitted as you explore the rest of Area15.

Yelp
A cool experience if you not sensitive to strobe lights and lights constantly changing. The lights changed in rhythm to the music that they have playing and you can feel it under your feet. It felt like a Matrix experience, lol. I expected a bit more. Its one big room with pillars the pillars have lights on them. There's wall-to-wall mirrors so that the room looks enormous. Once your in there for about 5 min your pretty much done. They do allow you to renter as many times as you like on the same day of ticket purchase.

Yelp
On Tuesday the 28th my boyfriend and I decided to visit since it was included with the Starry Light Art Bundle. "Cluster" is an immersive audiovisual which was created by Playmodes Studio to show the relationships between space, time and perception. We had a blast dancing to the bright flashing lights that played along with the music, but it was short lived since unfortunately the bright flashing lights also gave us a headache. We would return to try more experiences at Area 15!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of lights. I like blinking lights, red lights, blue lights.....just a lot of different lights in general, so when we walked into the Museum Fiasco, it was a little bit of an overwhelming experience in a good way. This experience located inside of Area 15 is probably the least complex and may even be the least worth it. Basically, you walk into an empty room that's filled with smoke and mirrors while lights are flashing all around you. The room itself is a good size and you are given a pair of glasses that make lights look like heart. Each "show" is about 45 minutes to an hour and you are allowed to come back as much as you want throughout the day to see more of it. I ended up coming in here twice and at first I didn't even realize it was something different, but the colours were a bit different and the song was as well. My first time walking into the room I thought it was pretty awesome, and don't get me wrong, it's a cool thing to see and experience, but when I came back the second time it was more or less the exact same thing, and is probably not worth the $18 admission for most people. Overall, Museum Fiasco was a cool enough experience for a one time thing. The lights were cool and the music and smoke made the whole experience feel like something different, but at the end of the day, this experience just isn't worth the $18 being charged compared to the other experiences at Area 15.

Joe E.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience. $72 for a family of four on a Sunday afternoon waiting for meow wolf. It is a big, empty room with mirrors on the walls, lights on the columns and EDM music playing. Disappointment is the understatement of all understatements. Save your money and help this business go out of business.

Yelp
Tucked into the corner of the second floor of Area15, Museum Fiasco wasn't on our to do list, but we found it and decided to check it out. We weren't sure what to expect from an immersive light and music experience. The bass-heavy music is timed to the light displays that come from the pillars and walls. The room has a smoky haze that adds to the experience. You also wear a set of paper 3d glasses that enhance the lighting effects. We were told the museum has three different "shows" that each run for an hour. While the experience was interesting, I don't think we would go back for the three different shows. I think we were in the presentation area for about 15 minutes. This was fun to experience one time. For some people, the cost may be more than they would be willing to pay. Also, do NOT go in here if you are affected by strobing light effects. That's pretty much all the lights do in here. While we probably wouldn't go back, it's worth the cost of admission.

Yelp
If the point of this experience was to waste peoples time and money and piss them off, I think they achieved what they were trying to do and I think that's beautiful. I wouldn't call this a museum or exhibit, but I would call it a fiasco... although that would imply that something was actually happening in there. The so called "art" is literally just a musty room with some lights and noise. The staff was incredibly rude as well. This place was far from disappointing.
google avatar

Jackie V.

Yelp
Not worth it ): just a room with flickering lights James, the person in the front with semi short hair, sort of a bigger figure and Hispanic (stating appearance because not sure if he gave correct name) Was very rude Came with a group of ten.. they should definitely teach their employees manners

Yelp
I decided to check out Area15 on my Las Vegas Trip. My first stop was to see Museum Fiasco ($17 per adult), which is an immersive sound and light spectacle. I made a reservation for 6:30 PM -- that way, I had a full night to explore AREA15 and try out at least one more experience. Upon walking into Museum Fiasco, I could see my partner looked nervous. It was dark and the audio booms shook us to our core.  But don't worry, this isn't a haunted house. Think of Museum Fiasco as more of an immersive art installation, meets a crazy Vegas club. Well, without the crowds. Perfect for COVID! It's easy to just get lost in the space, taking artistic photos for your Instagram page. We spent about 15 minutes inside snapping shots and maybe doing a few dance moves. It was unique. And reminded me of being in The Matrix. Or stuck inside a computer. And no, I wasn't drinking yet. After leaving the exhibit, I read a sign explaining the concept of Museum Fiasco. It was created as an immersive audiovisual installation to explore the relationships between space, time and perception. And the exhibit was a "psychic journey of abstract geometry." Wow, now that is deep. But if you're like us, hey, you'll love taking all of the fun photos inside. And maybe doing a few dance moves. From here, we moved on to the old school arcade bar where we killed some time before our next experience.

Troy L.

Yelp
empty room with lights n music... absolutely nothing to do with a museum. Putting "museum" in name is ridiculously misleading.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the Fiasco Cluster cocktail experience - the drink was absolutely delicious! After the drink you walk through Museum Fiasco - it's less of a museum and more of a mirror/light show. It was really cool though, stayed for the entire 15 min set and the music experience was cool as well. They change the music/lights every hour so you're invited to stay around Area15 and then come back but I didn't have time to stay but what I saw was fun and I'll definitely recommend it to other friends to check out.
google avatar

M R.

Yelp
This can be high energy if you dance around to the music, or reflective if you stand off to the side and try to take it all in. It's nice they do free re-entry and change the show among three every hour. I'd like more fog sometimes but they said you could not bring in any of your own. I would recommend to go back.
google avatar

Allen O.

Yelp
I wish I looked it up before paying the entry fee. Yes, it's just one room with lights, sound and fog. After seeing the other exhibits in area 15, I have to say it was the weakest one. Looking back, it made sense why there was no line to get in and the attendants almost seemed relieved when I walked up to check it out. Just my opinion but If you're going to do an infinity room with pillars, I feel like there should have been more pillars or having them evenly spaced out so as to get a better sense of the room stretching out to infinity. Regardless, it didn't feel like much of an experience for $18 and I ended up spending maybe 10 mins max before I was bored. I wouldn't do it again unless I was on drugs, that's for sure.

Yelp
Super fun! Came last year and I just had to come again. Great experience and great vibes.
google avatar

Anita W.

Yelp
Unless you are on heroin, mushrooms, ecstasy, molly or any other psychedelic drug...stay away. It's a room with loud music and flashing lights. That's it. A room with loud music and flashing lights. Feel free to dance they said. Um no. Worst $17 I have ever spent.
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
This is one of the few things we decided to try at Area 15. It was different. Just a big room with lots of pillars of light choreographed to some extremely loud music/sounds so loud you can feel it in your body. If the music were not so loud I may have enjoyed this more but it was a little bit of a sensory overload for my ears. There are 3 shows but we only did one. I guess you are maybe supposed to dance but the show we were in didn't really scream dance vibes at me. Maybe someone who appreciates raves would appreciate this more than I did.
google avatar

Brittagna G.

Yelp
They say music is a universal language... I couldn't agree more. Museum Fiasco musically "speaks to you" with absolutely no words necessary. Heightens your senses. Elevates your mind. Intrigues your soul. And makes you feel as if you are one with the pulsating lights and energy. A 360-all-interactive experience. I could certainly say more, but I highly encourage you to go and experience it for yourselves. I don't want to give anymore away! It's a personal feeling that can't really be described. Check it out. Don't forget to bring an open mind! You're welcome!

Karen T.

Yelp
Totally not worth it just a bunch of flashing lights and music. Would not waste your time or money.
google avatar

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
Legit just a small room with lights and really loud music. Paid $30 for two people and not worth it at all
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Enjoyed my experience here. Located at Area 15 in Las Vegas it's on the second floor of the facility. Great acoustics and lighting. My girlfriend and I spent about 10-15 minutes in the experience. We believe we went through a whole cycle of the experience. It is a bit pricier then we would have liked for such a short amount of time, but would recommend to others as a unique experience to do in the area. It was not crowded at all when we went.
google avatar

Yelp
If u have a group of friends this place can be so much fun. Good vibes fun light show and music. Defiantly got check this out

Yelp
Honestly one of the most dopest experiences in Vegas!!!! We walked in expecting one thing but left experiencing way more than we anticipated and left so damn thrilled! Come check this out! It's worth way more than the low ticket price!
google avatar

Hello H.

Yelp
Baylea and Mina were outstanding and professional these two need promotions I have been in customer service for 15 years. Thank you.
google avatar

Priscilla M.

Yelp
I have never experienced such a vibrant immersive aesthetic like place before, once I walked in, it was like entering a whole different dimension! If you like getting lost in intense music, lights, and taking Insta worthy pics, this is the place for you! Definitely worth it since it's 15 for locals!
google avatar

Brian Paco A.

Yelp
I have experienced my share of installation art in my lifetime, let alone the fact I have even curated a few as well. But nothing comes close to what Playmodes Studios, from Girona Spain, has created for Museum Fiasco at Area 15. It is the pièce de résistance of audio-visual artistic experiences.
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
So i came here for my 23 birthday and everything in here was pretty expensive. one thing i really wanted to experience were vibrant visuals and art i could take pictures in front of. It came down to two places: museum fiasco and one of the other displays. i spoke with one of the employees that gave me a better description than i couldve asked for and i came to the conclusion that museum fiasco was the right choice. As soon as i stepped in my expectations were exceeded by the full body immersive walk in gallery, amazing light visuals, and striking audio to move you along. It was like nothing i had seen before. This is the place to catch a vibe, and i definitely caught one. Ravers, this is your place. Photographers, this is what you want. If need a new experience this will be unknown to you.

Cherilynn F.

Yelp
I wish I would've looked up reviews for this place, inside of area 15, before I went. I have no problem with loud sounds, smoke machines, and lights but I became highly dizzy standing in just one room for 10 minutes and just watching lights blink and hearing a train sound coming. I don't know how long the show actually last because we left. This is not a museum, it's a room, where you stand and there are lights and sounds. Not worth $15, not worth a dollar. Don't go.

Nick C.

Yelp
$17 is a lot for a crappy light show and 15 minutes of prerecorded music. It's one installation. I don't think that really constitutes calling it a "museum".

Deedee_ P.

Yelp
Big spacious room. Friendly attendants. Overall very cool expereince with a fog room led light display with loud music to go along. Loved it

Ebony A.

Yelp
I definitely recommend the Cluster experience. It is a really cool sensory experience but I was not sure how my Autistic son would handle it so I was hesitant to purchase the ticket. The lady at the door was so nice and understanding and she allowed us to try the experience free of charge just in case he could not handle it. Her customer service was fantastic and my son had a wonderful experience. Give it a try!

matt b.

Yelp
This place makes you feel music. The name "museum" makes people think it's an art exhibit where you need to go look at every corner of the room. It's a glass covered square room, there's nothing hiding in there, it's the same thing on any side. It's an experience, you're supposed to stand in one spot and let the room/lights move around you. The people wandering around in the middle talking and touching things ruin the experience for themselves and others. Position yourself facing a mirror, try to unfocus your eyes and just let the music and lights do their thing. The fog helps immerse you in it, feels like you're floating in space- as long as no one wanders through your line of sight. I'm sure most people don't get the concept, but the engineers and composers are geniuses in my opinion. The people that get it, really appreciate the work that went into it. I wish I had this room in my house. It's my favorite thing to see at area 15. If the ticket sellers could add some of this to the speech before letting people in, would probably go a long way to help people see the art in it. Every time I'm in Vegas I come here, the songs stick in my head all day.

Sara C.

Yelp
Baylea and azaih were absolutely amazing, the museum fiasco was absolutely astonishing and believe me or not, you lose yourself a little.. it's an escape from reality... these two girls helped me so much especially not being from vegas they really showed me some cool places to check out. they made this experience so much more great than it is.. Yelp
The best experience in Area15 hands down. You can spend hours in this space or purchase an all day re-entry wristband. No matter how many times you every the space it just keeps getting better.
