"The house in which U.S. statesman Alexander Hamilton was born in 1757 and lived until he was eight years old (when he moved with his family to St. Croix) is now a museum dedicated to tracing his life and achievements. The stone house itself, while handsome, is mostly a restoration, but inside you’ll find fascinating texts describing Hamilton’s childhood, upbringing, and subsequent contribution to politics. The small museum also features a range of interesting artifacts that chart the history of Nevis, starting with the indigenous Amerindian peoples through the arrival of the Europeans and continuing right up to the present day. After touring the displays, visit the modest gift shop, where you can pick up souvenirs like local stamps and prints."
I thought this museum provided a nice history of the island, and of course it was cool to see the connection to Alexander Hamilton. It wasn’t super fancy or anything. $10 per person.

Visited the Museum of Nevis History while on a short visit to Nevis in November 2024 for a workshop. I admire how this very small organization is able to share Nevis History with all their guests in a very meaningful way. If you're a history buff, stop on by and pay a visit.

Excellent presentation of informative, historic information. I learned so much. Myself, my husband and 3 teenage children really enjoyed and benefited from this visit. The Museum is small - but full of bright, clear information, pictures and historic relics.
The home of Alexander Hamilton was also interesting. Surrounded by some beautiful gardens. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Tourist ripoff. $10 per person for two rooms of "exhibits" that are not much more than copies. Well, tourists are rich and throwing money everywhere, might as well have them throw some money here, why not.
Save the money and look at the buildings from the garden and sit under a tree for some time.

I was in the room where it happened... Beautiful Island & Amazing People... very welcoming country all around. Had a tour of the island giving the first stop to be this amazing location. Very well preserved history for any history lover and if you love Rum you might be able to get a Hamilton Reserve bottle from Clifton Estate Rum (I am so serious... best Rum I have ever had).

Great place to start your visit of Nevis! Self tour, lots of different displays about different times in their history. If your a Alexander Hamilton fan, this is where he spent his early years. Small gift shop and small restaurant on the grounds.

I only popped in, whilst passing through to catch a bus, and took a quick look around. Took a few pictures and looked at the opening hours and entrance fee as I plan to spend some time there next year.
