I've been going to the Museum of North Texas History from time to time when I'm in Wichita Falls, Texas for the experience of learning more this city's great history. Easy to find thanks to the wonderful signage in the front, I was able to explore the vast Western history and military displays. This museum is a pretty decent size and even has a theater room in it for various movies. I'd recommend this museum to anyone who wants to learn more of this destination city.

Fantastic museum with great depth of detail in it's many interesting artifacts and exhibits. Just a couple hours here and I've learned so much about life in this area through the ages. Workers were very nice and knowledgeable. They mentioned plans to continue to expanding the displays. I can't wait to find out more about our incredible past!

A great place to drop on a Saturday it’s worth the five dollar admission. There’s a lot of very interesting and fun things to look at many different exhibits. The staff was very welcoming and kind. I 100% will be returning.

Yelp
Warm and inviting. The miniature boats are awesome, and apparently all handcrafted by the same guy!

Yelp
We LOVED THE MUSEUM! Were from Sacramento, California and visit our son and his family every other year and after our 3rd visit there we stumbled on the museum. Our son lives there and is stationed at Shepards AFB. We loved the history and it answered questions about the name of the roads in the city. Loved the recognitioin to women in the military! The wall of hats worn by famous people was amazing!

Yelp
We really enjoyed this museum with all the Texas History! It was very educational and enjoyed the film of the area. Never saw so many cowboy hats in one place. They had stuff from all the wars plus Indians artifacts, medical equipment, iron lung machine, one of the first TV's with rabbit ears, piano, cowboy. Boots on loan, and so much more. It's a got to see museum

Yelp
My boyfriend stated "better than expected!" Great museum with lots of photos, memorabilia, and well organized rooms. There is an awesome room with a wall full of cowboy hats and another with different boots. A few rooms featuring historical military items. A room of medical items. A room of model ships and much more. Free entry so please purchase souvenirs and/or make a donation!

Yelp
Great place, bigger than what I thought. On our visit we met one of the persons that has put together several of the exhibits there, such as railroads. Great artifacts and wonderful things from past wars

Yelp
Simply put, this is a wonderful place to get your dose of North Texas history for FREE. Most of the exhibits are the same, but there are some that do rotate, so there is something new to see. I love taking out-of-town family here for a nice afternoon. :)

Yelp
Admission is free; donations are appreciated. An extensive collection of military memorabilia from WWI, WWII, Vietnam and even some from the Civil War, spread over several rooms of an old bank building are proudly displayed by a genial docent. There is an oil room, an iron lung, a music hall, a cowboy collection. a sewing room.a Masonic room, a room full of handmade, large scale model ships, an antique Wichita Falls Post Office and a Wichita Falls archive. This is worth an hour or more of your time investigating North Texas history, and it is indoors and air conditioned. It is not a hands-on place. Many items are fragile and eyes only touching.
