A small but mighty museum! The highlights are definitely
the volunteers/guides who are invaluable resources, energetic and provide a personal experience. Although they do offer tours at the top of every hour, a volunteer will likely be available at any time while they're open to explain and answer any questions you may have. They also have free sage tea! :) I don't know much about the Palestinian diaspora so it felt very powerful to learn more. I also really loved how much the museum showed the power and resilience of Palestinian women.
The museum is organized into time periods - the past, the present, and cultural/future (roughly, I may be remembering this wrong). There is currently a beautiful exhibit of calligraphy and poetry. For now, they are only open on Saturdays 12-6 but you can book a group tour. They also have a virtual tour on their website! The museum is the size of an office because it used to be an office space, but because of all of the interaction with the guides we spent more than an hour here.
In a time when Palestine is making global headlines, it is important that a museum like this exist to tell the people's and immigrant stories. Look forward to their plans for expansion!
