Musoshin Ramen

"Hiding just off the main drag in Roncesvalles, this restaurant is not like other ramen-yas. For starters, none of them can bake like Chef Aoi Yoshida, who turns out trays of perfectly formed Japanese milk bread and other sweet treats. Her house-made noodles, bundled into every bowl, are also a cut above most. But perhaps the most fascinating part of this restaurant hides in the broths. Whereas a typical tonkotsu ramen favors heart-stopping, porky richness, the style here is a vegetable base that is both lighter and leaner and yet equally savory. In a testament to both her own talents and to modern technology, Yoshida learned both noodle and ramen craft by video chatting with an old friend who runs this restaurant’s original location in Kyoto." - Michelin Inspector

My daughter and I absolutely loved our experience at Musoshin Ramen here. We both ordered different types of ramen, and every bite was full of rich flavor and depth. The noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy, the broth was incredibly well-balanced. You can really taste the quality and love in their food. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese ramen, Musoshin Ramen is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Google
Musoshin is one of the best ramen places in Toronto! I’ve been here a few times and always eat every last drop (including the broth) as you can see by the empty bowl in the third picture. I really like how you can add karaage or beef to your ramen. For dessert, both the kinako ice cream and matcha affogato are amazing. It’s nice to enjoy ramen on their patio too in nice weather!

Google
quick summary: food’s okay, service needs work, location itself is great and clean. food: takoyaki, SPECIAL MUSOSHIN RAMEN dessert: YOGURT CHEESECAKE WITH STRAWBERRY JAM and KUROMITSU KINAKO ICE CREAM service was severely lacking given the current occupancy at the restaurant. a total of 6 patrons. I was not checked on once after ordering, I am fairly patient but I had to get up and go to the counter to get anything from chili flakes to water. The waiter was unoccupied at most times. food is not worth the hype. Frozen takoyaki does not inspire confidence as my starter. 5/10 Noodles are right in the middle. Meat was still refrigerated cold (the half not in the hot broth). 5.5/10 Desserts are good. 7/10. Not much to say. Fairly generic desserts. I would suggest to tame your expectations when visiting.

Google
Got their special ramen for lunch. Their karaage and pork belly were the topping highlight. The broth was thick, but tasted fabulous. The beef tenderloin, not my taste, found it quite tough. Service and place itself was amazing!

Google
Musoshin Ramen is simply outstanding. I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews about the service — every time I visit, it’s professional, friendly, and welcoming. But the real star here is the ramen. It’s hands down the best I’ve ever had — even compared to places I visited in Tokyo and Kyoto! Not surprising, considering the owner is from Japan. If you’re looking for truly authentic Japanese ramen, this is the place to go. Highly recommend trying the Special Musoshin Ramen — it’s an unforgettable experience!

Google
This little ramen gem delivers big on flavor. The broth is absolutely stellar—rich, savory, and clearly simmered with care. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel cozy and personal. Seating is limited, so expect a bit of a wait during peak hours, but it’s absolutely worth it. 4.7/5

Google
This is a very solid ramen joint in Roncy. Broth is thick and tasty. The special has so many topping flavours. That tenderloin is yum! Pork belly thick and flamed. Egg is slightly jammy. Noods are solid.

Google
I ordered the Special Musoahin Ramen so to have a bit of Karage, chashu and beef. The soup is thick and savoury with good balance of chicken, pork and vegetables flavour. I really love the soup-soaked noodles. The house-made noodle makes every slurp a perfect balance. Broth meets bite in the most delicious way. The chashu melts in my mouth with a smokiness after taste. The beef is a bit overcooked to me while the karage is crispy and juicy. Although the portion is small, it is good for the ladies. So far the best ramen in town!

Yelp
I went with a group of 4 on a weekend and was seated on the patio. Ordered the special Musoshin as it had a variety of different meats to try. The portion was quite generous and the 3 different types of meat (steak, pork belly, karage) were done very well. The steak was flavorful and tender, the pork belly was nicely seasoned and the chicken karage was super crispy. The broth itself was wonderful, which made the entire meal extremely satisfying to eat. The service was also quick and friendly, the inside had nice decor and was clean. Overall, would definitely recommend the special Musoshin and would come back to try other things on the menu! 100% deserving of the Michelin review!

Yelp
I have been eyeing this ramen place as they are Michelin recommended. Was finally glad to be able to try this place. We went at 5pm on Saturday and were seated right away in the patio area. The weather was great and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was very quick and friendly. I must say the meat was really tasty! The noodles were a little too chewy for my liking. The eggs were perfect (this was an extra $2). The broth tasted clean and wasn't too salty unlike most ramen places. I didn't feel heavy or thirsty after drinking the soup which was a really huge plus although it took me off guard a little since I was expecting a huge punch of flavour/saltiness. Overall I'm so glad that I was finally able to give this place a try, I would recommend it.

Yelp
100% deserving of that Michelin review! Authentic and delicious. The place was packed on a random Wednesday for lunch. Understandable that there's a 90 minute seating limit. We had the Musoshin Ramen and the Musoshin Ramen Rec. Broth, noodles, it was all perfect. Limited seating and cool patio which gives off a NYC St. Marks Place vibe. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Small ramen shop near Dundas and Bloor with very few tables sometimes the wait is 20-30 minutes depending on how busy they are. Ramen was flavorful and left me wanting more. Wish their portions were a little bigger. Their menu is quite small though. The mochi donuts are great little take out desserts.

Yelp
Expectations were very high and every wish and hope were.met and exceeded! Staff was very friendly and informative, and the menu in resto was larger than online! The boniyo flakes on the takoyaki was very generous and provided a great smoky umami.bomb againat the fluffy octopus balls. Had the special Mushoshin combo ramen and it was a very generous portion. The beef was incredibly tender, and flavourful, the char aroma was mesmerizing. The pork belly was thinly sliced and delicious but the karaage at our table stole the show! They were baking and cooling fresh bread when we arrived...smelt yummy. If you're lucky enough yo have the chance to try the noodles here, Im sure you'll agree, its a must try!

Yelp
I was thrilled to find out this small ramen shop was right around the corner from my office, so I organized a team outing to stop by. The first thing I noticed was that the dining room was pretty small and while there was a good number of seats for the dining room, it can get a bit cramped. But I was there for the food, and the food was very tasty! I wish the servings were a little bit bigger, but given the location and price, I think the value is fair. I love a rich broth and the broth in my musoshin ramen really hit the spot. The thing that stood out to me the most was how fast the food came out. There was only 1 cook and the dining room was full. Nevertheless, the food came out reasonably fast and I appreciated their ability to work efficiently in their confined kitchen. Overall 4.5/5, will definitely return if I get the chance.

Yelp
I was in the area and was looking for a bite to eat then came across this ramen spot online. It came to my surprise that I found out this spot was featured on the Toronto Michelin guide. Despite being a rainy day, there was still a reasonable amount of people inside. I went solo, so I sat by the window seats. Musoshin Ramen: I went with their classic ramen as it seems to be the popular option. The portions were a bit small but the quality was amazing. The broth was light but still flavourful without feeling heavy like the usual tonkotsu broth. Overall, I had a great experience solo dining at Musoshin that you could still enjoy your meal solo and not feel a bit awkward as the seating was by the window more suitable for solo eaters.

Yelp
Solid ramen, especially with the vegan broth option, which can be hard to find in the city. The broth is very flavourful, and the noodles were springy. The wait isn't too long once you place your order. Be prepared to wait for seats in the winter as half of their seating is outdoors (and unavailable).

Yelp
Dare I say, best ramen in the city! Musoshin is a quaint little ramen shop near Roncesvalles (Roncy) that brings the same warmth as a homecooked meal. FOOD (5/5) We ordered two Ajitama Musoshin Ramen which is their house special Musoshin ramen topped with a seasoned boiled egg and bamboo shoots. The broth is incredibly rich, umami, yet light and well balanced. The noodles have a nice chew and bounce. The chashu sliced pork is, I believe torched as it's plated, so there's a hint of smokiness and caramelization of the brine that works so well with the richness of the broth. The egg is cut in half and has a soft gooey yolk and lightly seasoned albeit could've been more umami. I'd say this ramen reminded me deeply of ramen from Japan and I highly recommend! I even ended up drinking up all the broth til the bowl was empty! AMBIENCE (2.5/5) A very quaint storefront with a few tables and booth seats. The kitchen is in open view to the dining area which felt very authentic to some Japanese cuisine. They also have a front patio with a few seats as an option on nicer days. SERVICE (4/5) Staff were helpful and service was really fast! They quickly cleared our bowls after eating and asked if we wanted dessert, which we responded no and was presented with the bill at the table right away. VALUE (4.5/5) Despite being extremely tasty, the ramen noodle portions seemed a bit less than most other ramen shops. Nevertheless, still walked out feeling content. LOCATION (3/5) Located a in the Roncesvalles area, it's commutable being a few minutes walk from Dundas West station or Bloor GO/UP Express station. There's also some street parking in the area. OVERALL (5/5) I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen here and will be using this as a benchmark for ramen going forward. Highly recommend and will 100% be back for this to-die-for ramen and some of their desserts next time!

Yelp
It's an overrated ramen place. The soup base is too greasy and overpowers the pork flavour. The chashiu wasn't seasoned well enough. We had to wait 15 minutes to get in. Totally not worth it.

Yelp
+.5 for service Pretty solid ramen location. Needed a ramen place that was in between the airport and Union Station (was in the middle of a transfer), and this place is not too far of a walk from the UP Express station at Bloor. Plus it was Michelin recommended so I had to give it a try. While they have their standard ramen options, there was also a list of specials that aren't in the menu. One of them was the sakekasu ramen, which was only shown on their white board. I decided to give that ramen a try as it's something different, and with Michelin places I like to see their creativity. I liked it! There was a milky texture to the broth, thick/twisty ramen was used (which is what I prefer), and portion sizes were very reasonable. Lots of flavour with the ramen and bowl. I added the yogurt cheesecake as it looked very interesting (milk from a Japanese farm? Sure!). It was rich for a Japanese cheesecake, and for $5.75 I'd say it's excellent value to enjoy a Japanese-styled dessert. Service was excellent here. It is a bit pricier than your famous ramen locations downtown, but I do believe it's worth a try for the adventurous one.

Yelp
I had the chance to dine at Musoshin in Kyoto while vacationing in Japan, so I was excited when I later learned they have a second location here in Toronto. I'm happy to report the ramen here is also delicious!!! It's not a "fancy restaurant"--just a casual cafe with a neighborhood feel serving up reasonably-priced, authentic ramen made with high quality ingredients. Expect a wait if you go on a Friday night, maybe 30-60 minutes which is totally worth it for this Michelin-rated food.

Yelp
Super tiny restaurant, well-lit and very limited seating. They do have a patio. The decor is pretty nice- you can see the chefs cooking as well. My boyfriend and I came in on a weekday around 2pm, didn't have to wait for a table but it was basically full. Service was quick and attentive. I ordered the musoshin ramen with no green onions. Their broth is nice and light while still being flavourful- it doesn't feel too thick or oily. The chashu was mild and very fatty. The noodles have a nice bounce to them. Overall I think it's a good place to start with ramen. My boyfriend had the musoshin special, and it had a very strong smoky flavour to both the broth and meat. The karaage is nice- the beef tastes basically like grilled beef but it's not chewy. There's a strong onion taste. The egg was cooked perfectly- jammy but soft. We ordered the yogurt cheesecake after for dessert, which was pretty good but the portion size was a bit small. Overall a good experience. For my ramen and the cheesecake, it came out to $25 before tip. The special was around $30.

Yelp
The quality of this ramen is quite good. It's not far off from the standard I experienced while eating in Japan. However, the location is relatively remote, so if you happen to pass by, it's worth giving it a try. 呢間拉麵嘅quality係唔錯。同我喺日本食嘅水準差唔多。不過地點就相對偏遠,路過可以試吓。

Yelp
Tried this Michelin-recommended ramen joint for the first time! The restaurant is quite small, maybe seats 16 max - so get there early or be prepared to wait! They have a menu of about 8-10 ramen varieties (including specials - which, when we went, consisted of a Kyoto Gion Black Ramen, a kotteri / richer ramen, and a Sake Kasu ramen). I was in the mood for a ramen egg, so got the most popular ajitama musoshin ramen. The portion wasn't too big, and it also came with two fatty char siu pieces. The broth was thick and savoury, with a nice layer of grease, but not too oily or greasy. It was soothing without being too heavy. The egg was perfectly executed and the noodles were al dente. The broth was warm, but not piping hot (unlike many other joints in Japan). My friend opted for the musoshin ramen red, at a spice level of 6. It came with an okra and some beef. She found the okra too raw (was so hard that she could barely bite into it) but overall, preferred this ramen over the signature ajitama musoshin. Prices are comparable to other Toronto places - which makes me miss Japan pricing!! But the quality is quite good, and more importantly, I don't feel super heavy after eating here. Would come against some point to try the other ramen types!

Yelp
The best ramen I have had! There is very limited seating but it is worth the wait. The ramen is delicious and the entire menu is reasonably priced. Enjoyed the strawberry mochi for desert after the Ajitama Musoushin Ramen which were both fantastic! Restaurant has a great vibe and nice decor. This restaurant is on the Michelin Guide and for good reason!

Yelp
Heard about this place from friends and saw their recommendation on the Michelin Toronto list. It's a very small place just off Roncy run by actual Japanese from Kyotoregion. Food - 4.75/5 - I've tried the Musoshin and Chashu-Men and both were very good. Can tell the noodles are homemade and the Vegetable broth is surprisingly flavourful. They don't even have Shoyu or Shio broth! The Chashu is cooked perfectly and very flavourful. Seasoned egg and accompaniments all good. Also had some of the unique seasonal Japanese desserts and they were great! Especially Kuromitsu Kinako Ice Cream. Service- (4/5) - it can get pretty busy so can have a line... haven't had this issue in the summer since they have outdoor picnic tables that provide additional capacity but would guess winter is tougher. Servers are friendly and hustle. Atmosphere - (4/5) - it's a chill bright open atmosphere inside. Pretty basic layout but clean. Overall - (4.5/5) - like this place and it's one of my 2 favourite Ramen places in Toronto now along with Ramen Isshin. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
small shop but very comforting. The staff are friendly. Good amount of ramen choices. The noodles, broth and chashu compemented each other well. Chashu -men

Yelp
This ramen shop takes first spot in my books. Delicious rich broth with perfectly cooked noodles. We were the second group of customers after opening hours and the place was full momentarily after. I had the musoshin ramen red. Our server mentioned that level 5 was the perfect medium spice but opted for the level 4 just to be safe. It turned out to be the perfect level of spice for my bowl of ramen. The beef tenderloin was nicely charred. I asked about the strawberry mochi that was advertised and we were introduced to 3 different kinds of ohagi (aka botamochi). Ohagi was not advertised but I do recommend giving these a try. It's a version of mochi where glutinous rice is soaked for about an hour and typically moulded with azuki (red bean) paste.

Yelp
My friend chose this restaurant because it had great reviews! We came here on a rainy Saturday evening to have dinner and catch up. I arrived there around 6:30 p.m. and the place was packed! The place was a lot smaller than I thought, but that was not a problem! It had a small cozy vibe, almost like a secret place to go to eat good food! There was a big group of people at the outdoor patio in front and about 15 to 18 people inside. Once I was inside, I was greeted by a friendly young man. He informed me that there will be about 15 to 20 minutes of waiting time. I agreed and he took down my contact information, so that I will be contacted once the next table becomes available. Fortunately, I was called within 10 minutes after. I was really glad because it was still raining outside and there were no other places to go and wait. I got the table towards the back end of the place, which was great! I don't enjoy sitting close to the restaurant's doors, especially on cold days. Once my friend arrived, we talked for a bit and looked at the menu together. The menu can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the table. When the waiter came by, I ordered Musoshin Ramen and my friend ordered Ajitama Musoshin Ramen. The Musoshin Ramen had a deep and rich broth, the noodles were soft and chewy, and chashu was cooked to perfection! For dessert, we asked our waiter for his recommendation and he suggested affogato or mochi. We wanted to try something different, so I ordered hojicha affogato and my friend ordered matcha affogato. It came in two parts- there was a large scoop of ice cream in a bowl and there was a hot liquid hojicha or matcha in a small plastic cup. We poured the content in the small cup onto the ice cream, then we mixed it up a bit to taste hojicha or matcha with the ice cream. I really enjoyed the deep rich bitter flavour of hot hojicha with the sweet cold ice cream. My friend said the same thing! It was a great way to end our meal. If you love ramen in a cozy setting, give this place a try! Tip: Seats fill up fast, so get here earlier than your ideal dining time!

Yelp
Winter Special SAKEKASU Ramen is truly a delight for the tastebuds! The Kotteri Ramen is rich, and tasty. The Kaarage is light, delicate and delicious! You will be on a Taste Voyage from the first bite. Strawberry Mochi: real Strawberry... not too sweet, perfect dessert to top off the meal. Highly recommend! And to add to my review, see what the Michelin guide has to say: https://guide.michelin.com/ca/en/ontario/toronto/restaurant/musoshin-ramen

Yelp
This ramen place is run by a Japanese lady who learnt how to make ramen virtually. The quality does not suffer though This is the first ramen place I've seen with gluten free ramen. Unfortunately it's also the first ramen place I've seen without gyoza. The ramen was good. The stock was good & rich & the noodles had a good texture. The chashu had a nice grilled flavor; there was a good amount of fat but the marbling could be better. The karaage was good; a bit overfried for Japanese fried chicken but but still ok. It was tasty & juicy. The egg was nicely done; though light in flavour the texture of the yolk was right. Musoshin Red (level 1) was the first time I'd seen okra in Ramen. It was mild, but spicier then I expected. The beef was very tender & tasty.. Japanese curry was very good. It was very thick & there was quite a bit of meat.  It was served with purple rice. The pickle was not the usual red pickle. The owner also has bakes, which she was doing before she made ramen. Yogurt cheesecake was decent; the crumb was a bit wet. There was a sour yogurt flavour in the cheese as expected. Strawberry mochi had red bean & a whole strawberry inside. There is a certain intellectual appeal to that, but it spoiled the texture.

Yelp
Musoshin ramen has one of the best broths for ramen I have ever had. Hearty and delicious as ramen should be. Not a lot of space so be prepared to wait. They have a handy online ordering system where you can pickup. My only complaint is it seems like you get less when you order for pickup. Maybe I'm imagining it but I feel like you get a more full bowl when you dine in.

Yelp
I've been to Japan many times and was slightly bummed with the quality and richness here. This is definitely a hole in the wall with indoor and outdoor seating so don't blink or you might miss it. We were seated very quickly on a Friday around 5. My husband ordered the Ajitama ramen and I got the spicy one. Both portion sizes were good but the regular broth was much better than the spicy. It had some richness to it but the flavor was slightly lacking. That being said, service prompt and good. Definitely check it out if you're tempted but might be only worth the one shot.

Yelp
Excellent ramen, great ambiance, and reasonable prices. The only drawback is to expect to wait because its success well-known.

Dianna C.

Yelp
We visited on a Saturday afternoon. The place was busy, especially since there isn't a lot of sitting space. We were seated very close to the next table, but the service was otherwise good. The kaarage chicken was tasty. A little fatty but crispy and flavourful. The ramen (musoshin and curry) had a very concentrated broth. The noodles were great! Portions were a little small. You'll definitely need to order a side to accompany your ramen. Overall, would recommend!

Yelp
This has to be the best ramen I've ever had. And I'm pretty sure the lineup would agree. It was a Friday evening, we put our name down and was told that it would be a 45 mins-1 hour wait. Unfortunately we never got the call and when we went back to the restaurant over 2 hours later, there was no record of our name or phone number so I'm not sure what happened there. When we went back there was still no room on the inside and was offered to sit outside if we wanted or to wait. It was dark out but since they were closing in an hour, we opted for the outdoor seatings. Despite the hiccups, I'm so glad we still decided to try them out because this ramen is out of this world. The broth is so rich and smokey and the charsu was also perfectly fatty. The egg was cooked to perfection. 5/5. I will definitely return!

Yelp
It's so great to have yummy ramen nearby! We ordered the takoyaki to start I can't remember ever having takoyaki, so have no basis for comparison. Like a pancake with octopus covered in sweet sauce and mayo. An unusual combination at first for the uninitiated, but a taste that you keep enjoying. I loved how hot these were served. Next: the ramen. I went for the Musoshin Red ramen, a spicy variety. I went for medium-spicy and the little dollop of spice sauce packed a punch once it was stirred around. Very spicy! Really incredible noodles and super broth. I opted for pork instead of the beef that usually comes with the Red - it was tasty, if a little tough. I would have liked a few more extras in the standard bowl - egg, mushroom, etc. (You can order extras for extra $). There were chopped green onions and a long piece of okra in this one. Very nice, chill place and yummy food. Looking forward to trying more ramen bowls! Tip is already included, which makes paying easy

Yelp
Delicious ramen with a broth that is both pork and veggie based. I had the bowl with 'red' in it, and the chilli was nice. For spice lovers, it really isn't that hot, so don't worry about ordering on the high end. The noodles were delicious and would pass the goldilocks test: not too thin, not too thick, not too hard, not too soft - but just right in every way. The red bowl was also unique as it served with beef which is quite novel for me. It is more of a couple small pieces of fresh grilled piece of striploin rather than very small pieces of brisket that you might expect (maybe due to pho history). They don't really break down the veggies on the add-ons on the menu, so for $2.50 you get a bunch, which includes: sprouts, bamboo, spinach, carrot, okra, green onion, and bell peppers. A few of those are typical of ramen, and though carrot isn't (for me), it was thinly julienned so it worked well, so did the spinach. But I'd definitely pass next time on the peppers and okra and they are not cut small, nor cooked in advanced so they don't really cook in the broth since it's not exactly hot pot. They also have a large and diverse beer selection featuring crafts, imports and all different sorts.

Yelp
"Underrated ramen spot. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, very pleasant, and accommodating. She offered wonderful suggestions and just around had a wonderful personality that contributed to a fantastic experience. My friends and loved our flavorful ramen. Also, we ordered their takoyaki twice because it was also sooo good! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Musoshin Ramen is located in Roncesvalles Village, on a side street by Roncy/Dundas. The small ramen shop is a chain restaurant from Japan where they have 3 locations (2 in Kyoto, 1 in Osaka) where they prize themselves on making homemade noodles. Toronto marks their first overseas location where they opened recently amidst the pandemic - they were able to manage some outdoor dining when the weather was nice, however, currently they are takeout only. I decided to try Musoshin Ramen after reading an article about it online. I stopped by on a Tuesday and called to put in my order when they opened at 11:30am. I ordered the Musoshin ramen (added a seasoned egg), tonkatsu sandwich, and a loaf of the shokupan (Japanese bread). My order took about 15 min to make and pick up was smooth and easy. They accept credit as well. In terms of the food, the ramen and soup are separated. When I got home I reheated the soup. The ramen comes with 2 slices of charsiu pork, bamboo shoots, and green onions. I had to add a seasoned egg for $2 which was perfectly cooked (slightly runny yolk!). The ramen soup is nice, thick, and hearty. The homemade noodles had a nice chew to them and held onto the soup quite well. The 2 charsiu pieces were a bit small in my opinion for the price of the ramen. The tonkatsu sandwich was classic. Thick cut of breaded pork cutlet, tonkatsu sauce, and cabbage all between two slices of their store made shokupan. Simple but filling. The shokupan itself was delicious as well. Light and fluffy, perfect vessel for jam once toasted. Check this new Japanese restaurant out if you have a chance! Prices are fairly more on the expensive side but I believe that the gratuity is already incorporated into the prices of the food.

Yelp
We heard about Musoshin through an article written in Toronto Life. After checking out their website, we decided to order from here for dinner on a Friday night. This place is still going through growing pains. When we arrived, there was a swarm of people. It wasn't clear where to go. We had ordered on the phone 30 minutes prior, but in the midst of confusion around where to line up and where to go along with trying to get a word in when the person at cash kept taking phone calls, we waited for an additional 25 minutes to get our food. The price point is higher than other ramen places in the city and the portions are smaller. I had the original Musoshin Ramen. The broth was good. However, the noodles were a little hard. I even left them in the broth a little longer. The owner of Musoshin also makes bread and desserts that you can order through Instagram. I ordered Anpan a few days prior because I wanted to drop them off at my parents' on Saturday. Note the timeline; I did not just walk up on Saturday morning asking for Anpan. The agreed pick up time was noon so I rushed here because I lost track of time doing chores at home. By the time we left, it was 12:50 because we were kept waiting. Again, we were at the cash, but the process took longer due to the person at cash also responsible for picking up phone calls. I asked for the Sesame Bread, but had to ask for it a couple of times. Original Ramen - $15 Anpan - $2.50 Sesame Bread - $7 I'm all about supporting local business, but I don't think I'll return until all the growing pains are sorted out. Good for: ramen, bread, dessert

Learned about this place from BLOG Toronto. Traveled all the way from uptown for a visit. Ordered a Musoshin Ramen Red, a Okonomiyaki, a strawberry mochi, and a Tea Ceremony Matcha Koicha. Musoshin Ramen Red (score 5/5) The broth was spicy and made from pork and vegetables. The type of noodles was thin and it came with Shiokoji beef tenderloin, and an okra. Actually customer was provided a choice to choose the spicy level for the ramen and I chose the medium. The broth was so delicious that I could not stop from sipping. The ramen was smooth. The beef was slightly barbecued. It was so good!!! Okonomiyaki (score: 4.5/5) It was cut into 4 quarters, easier for the customers to eat. Personally, I was hoping to have more Okonomiyaki sauce on it. Overall, it's good. Strawberry Mochi and Tea Ceremony Matcha Koicha (score: 5/5) A PERFECT MATCH!!! Wish they could open another restaurant uptown!!

Yelp
Surprisingly underwhelmed. I tried the vegan miso ramen and Takoyaki and yakisoba. The vegan ramen tasted almost like bland like milk (very white in colour from Sakyō miso). Very creamy but lacks in broth flavour. I know that Kyoto side tends to be light overall but I have had better vegan soup than this. The portions was a little on the small side which is quite unusual for ramen (at least here in Toronto). The yakisoba was very disappointing like I can make better yakisoba than that '. Didn't even have aonori (sprinkled nori) and tasted very sweet for some reason...it tasted...strange... some ingredients in there were very questionable. Vegetables were cut very uneven and unprofessional... I saw the Michelin sign hung up on the wall so was very excited to try and perhaps their signature dish is very tasty from what I read on other reviews here but for someone who don't eat pork it was honestly disappointing. There are so many broth options that's vegan out there so there's really no excuse. Especially if they tout the Michelin sign. The dessert (strawberry daifuku) was such thin mochi and minimal azuki like they scraped as little as possible or something. Strawberry inside was juicy though lol. Anyways that's my 2 cents. I'm Japanese btw .

Yelp
The house ramen was hot and very slurpable. The broth was thicker than I would've liked and the ratio of broth to noodles felt a bit off as well. Satisfying but ultimately forgettable.

Yelp
Musoshin Ramen is the first North American location for this Japanese ramen chain from Kyoto. They opened late last year in October, and are known for their light, vegetable-based broth. The menu is small with five different ramen, but they do them well. The noodles are hand-made, and many of the ingredients and desserts are made on-site. I enjoyed my bowl of ramen, as it was hearty yet rich at the same time. You have the option to add pork, beef, or veggies as additional toppings. An interesting thing to note is that the restaurant prices include an 18 percent hospitality charge, so there's no need to tip extra. You pay up-front, and the prices aren't exorbitant even with the surcharge, as costs are roughly $12 to $17. From reading other people's reviews, I believe the prices are the same for take-out. So might as well eat-in at that point since the surcharge is included in the price-point.

Yelp
I realized that I had never had proper ramen pork broth until I had it here. It's full-body flavoured, rich and creamy and served at the perfect temperature. The noodles have a hand-pulled quality and are cooked ever so slightly al dente. Don't be afraid of the level 10 spicy on the Red Ramen, which I ordered, because it's just a kick. It came with a seared choice piece of beef that was buttery and yummy. I rarely drink my broth down to the bottom, but I totally did here. My friend adored his Tonkatsu addition to his house ramen, flavourful and huge for just an extra $4. Over all, this is a really well-thought out bowl of ramen that kept me full for hours. I also tried a strawberry mochi ball for dessert which was clearly made by a Japanese mom in the know! One pays upfront, and there is no tipping, just like in Japan! The portion seems smaller than at other ramen places, but it's zero wasted food because it's perfectly portioned and exactly enough. Mata kimasu-yo!

Yelp
We were looking to eat some ramen after a year without a single bowl, and the recently-opened Musoshin seemed like a good choice. We arrived right at 11:30 to ensure that we snagged one of the joint's four patio tables, and we ordered pretty much right away. I decided to go with the Musoshin Ramen Red ("Spicy pork broth soup with shiokoji beef tenderloin and vegetables") and I requested that at the spice level of 9. It arrived a short while later and it's definitely a tasty bowl of ramen. The broth is the real star here, as it's rich and flavorful in the way that only a good bowl of ramen can be. The other components didn't fare quite as well, unfortunately. The noodles were fine but unspectacular, and the beef tenderloin had a leftover, gamy sort of flavor. Honestly I would've preferred the dish had it been just the broth in a bowl. We also tried the Karaage, which was fine but nothing special, and we finished off with the Strawberry Mochi, which was probably one of the better versions of this odd dish I've ever had.

Yelp
Cutest place for ramen and some mochi. I tried the white miso ramen and the veggie Japanese curry. I enjoyed them both, the white miso is delicately spiced and it was wholesome, the curry was comforting. I enjoyed the strawberry mochi with the read bean paste

Yelp
Musoshin Ramen is a new Japanese ramen located at Roncesvalles and Dundas. They're the first overseas location for this Japanese ramen chain from Kyoto in Japan. They just opened in October last year and are offering ramen and traditional Japanese baked goods and sweets. The co-owner, "Aoi Yoshida" has partnered with Shin Inaba, who has started the brand, "Musoshi Ramen" in Kyoto, Japan. She is also a chef and baker for this new location. Musoshin is best known for their light yet rich vegan vegetable-based ramen broth. Their noodles are freshly made in house using premium flour aged to draw out the subtle flavours to match their unique broth. We didn't try their vegan broth ramen yet because my husband loves pork broth ramen and I preferred to have spicy ramen at the time. So, we decided to try their signature dish, "Musoshin Ramen", Musoshin Ramen Red, Chicken Karaage and their popular bake goods, "Shokupan or Japanese Milk Bread" I chose Musoshin Ramen Red because I wanted to see how spicy it can be. I asked to have level 7/10 for my ramen. However, it didn't seem too spicy for me. I should have asked for level 10!!! I liked my spicy broth but I preferred to have chashu instead of beef on Musoshin Ramen Red.

Yelp
The flavour of the ramen broth is incredible! The noodles are a great texture too. Decent size portion. My biggest complaint is the lack of protein. From the musoshin red ramen to the Takoyaki balls... what happened to the protein. The red ramen comes with two smaller pieces of beef tenderloin and I'm still wondering if my takoyaki balls even contained any octupus... Cute interior, it's very small and quaint and the service is good.

Yelp
Great little place on a residential street - made it feel like we were back in Japan! They have a nice little patio outside to accommodate outdoor seating. We were three adults, three kids and a dog and they were super nice and accommodating. We ordered: - musoshin ramen - musoshin spicy ramen - Chicken Karaage don - strawberry mochi - shiso soda (made fresh in house) The ramen is made fresh in house. It was delicious! Everything we had was delicious and great! The only complaint is the karaage was burnt and overcooked.

Yelp
One of the best ramen places in Toronto! Broth is extremely flavourful without it being too heavy. Highly recommend the original musoshin ramen

Yelp
The ramen here are hand made in house. They also make really fluffy and soft milk bread. We ordered the Musoshin Ramen and the Musoshin Ramen Red. The Musoshin Ramen has 2 slices of pork belly. The pork belly was charred and had a nice smoky taste to it. The Musoshin Red came with a spicy level choice from 1-10 and came with 2 slices of beef tenderloin. In my opinion, I preferred the Musoshin ramen with pork belly. It had a miso garlicky flavour. We ordered extra noodles for each bowl and it was only $2 extra. Staff were very friendly and they accept credit or cash.

Yelp
Am I glad that Mushoshin moved into the neighbourhood. A legit ramen joint in Ronces has never been so welcomed in my opinion. Tucked away on a small residential street, across the starbucks you'll find this hidden gem. We ordered 2 mushoshin ramen, takoyaki, and 2 strawberry mochi that's made fresh in house. I've gotta say that this takes me back to Japan when ramen noodles would hold the pork broth so nicely. the char sui is really good and adds on a nice complimenting flavour to the broth and noodles. The takoyaki is a great appetizer if anyone enjoys it, very light on the inside with a nice soft crisp on the outside. I've dined in twice and ordered takeout once for lunch. They have yet to disappoint.

Yelp
I have yet to encounter better ramen than Musoshin, the quality is clearly higher than most places. The owner is a sweetheart as well!

Yelp
My favourite ramen place. Particularly like the soft egg and their chashu. Worth crossing town for.

Yelp
Great service. Very small restaurant with a small menu but often offers seasonal dishes. List of alcohol on the wall and daily baked goods and tea for sale. They have a instagram that is updated when they offer new things. Ramen was good, couldn't go wrong with the original one.

Yelp
Excellent tasting. Prices are a bit too high for me. You can taste the quality of the food, but shin 22.00 plus is too much for a soup
