"Bethesda’s chill Mussel Bar and Grille recently re-opened in a new glass-covered bistro space, offering a large selection of malty Belgian beers and standout dishes like beet salad and French onion soup. The Mediterranean mussels with merguez sausage and harissa aioli are a must-try." - Tierney Plumb

"This mussel bar recently opened a new outpost in Bethesda, in the same neighborhood where it originally opened in 2010. Both the fresh space and the Ballston, Virginia, location are serving up fresh bivalves from Washington State and fries with homemade dipping sauces. You can get the classic Belgian preparation with white wine and roasted garlic ($25), or branch out and try a merquez sausage, goat cheese, and harissa aioli version ($26) or bolognese sauce-covered option with crispy capers ($26)." - Travis Mitchell, Emily Venezky

"To usher in fall, buy a full pot of mussels and get half a pot for free from Tuesday, October 26, through Halloween at Robert Wiedmaier’s Belgian roadhouse in Bethesda. Timely cocktails include a “Gimme the BOOze!” full of Aperol, St. Germain, and dark rum, with lychee “eyeball” garnishes." - Tierney Plumb, Eater Staff

Fresh mussel and good seasoning! I was worrying about it comes too much if one meal just for mussels, but it’s actually delicious and you want more…

Mixed east coast oysters: A+ Steak frites: B- we got it with the chimichurri (which was fantastic), but the steak itself, although fairly tender and a perfect medium rare, could have used a bit more seasoning. Zoe, our server: A+++ x 100 not only made great recommendations, but anticipated our needs better than we could have imagined. Excellent service.

Thank you google maps for leading us here! Was visiting and needed a fun place for a group. We enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Our waitress was amazing and very knowledgeable about everything from the beer on tap to the quality of the oyster varieties! Great variety of good food whether you like seafood or not!

Had a great meal. Service was good. Flatbread mushroom pizza was delicious. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Beers were poured a little uneven but overall a very positive experience

I had a great time with my girl friends. Mussels in white wine was really tasty. It would be even better if their bread can come with the mussels in the same time. :)

They were extremely polite from the beginning. They wanted to know if we wanted a booth or a table for our birthday party. We opted for the table and they didn't make us wait until our whole party arrived. That is a major plus. The public parking was great. It was easy to find a meter close by. I know it is a Wednesday, by that is still major plus point. The Chimay Blues were strong and great! Beware! Only indulge if you are NOT the designated driver. The Lambec wasn't tasty in my opinion. It was great when it hit the tongue, but tasted like Robotussin afterwards! The mussels had a fantastic broth that was spicy and very flavorful. My highlight was the sweet potato fries and the BURGER! Wow! The cheese just melted on my tongue. I am a huge fan of the tomato relish on it too. Overall, it was a great birthday bash! They definitely inquired whether we needed anything, which is huge. It is a pet peeve when servers don't ask that crucial question after our first bites. I will definitely come back here again. Great experience!

Always fresh, tasty, and worth the calories - I always get some type of mussel dish. Great tuna tartar. Good value for money indeed, attentive friendly staff, a nice dinner out. Loud acoustics tho, and slightly blahhh greeters upon entry.
