Their Ribs are so tender that fall apart easily. Ribs are covered with sweet but a little bit spicy at the end makes us to eat more. I hope it comes with some salads as a side dish. We visited there just before noon without reservation but better to book in advance.

Super nice place for experiencing German culture and traditional food! 100% recommended. We will come back when friends or family come

Whilst in Braunschweig, I had the pleasure of discovering a restaurant that proved to be an excellent find. They offer a variety of tasty dishes, but there is one particular item that truly stands out and merits special mention: the BBQ Pork Ribs. The BBQ Pork Ribs served here are exceptionally good; their flavour and quality are genuinely impressive. If you find yourself at this restaurant, I would very strongly recommend trying the Pork Ribs – the taste is quite remarkable.

The rib is very tasty, soft and bar b q sauce is perfect. The German pork leg is also very delicious. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is very lovely. I got lucky to get the table without any reservations.

Really nice restaurant in the center of the city, near shops. Must have the potato carrot soup!!! However all soups were delicious too! Helpful and smiley staff, good atmosphere, large range of beers! The desert of waffle was amazing too!

Great little place. We got the Feuertopf soup (lots of meat, reminded me of a thinner chilly$, which was really great, and the ribs (super tender, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth delicious), which was also great. If you are thinking of getting the ribs, i would suggest splitting them (and getting soup), it was a lot of food - we didn’t finish all of them. Building is small, and rests between two much larger buildings. Inside is quaint and decorated. Very german.

The food is delicious, the service is attentive and the environment is great, the only small regret is that it can be a little noisy when there are a lot of people. If you are visiting Brunswick, this restaurant is definitely worth a try, especially the BBQ spare ribs.

Nope. If you aren't from Braunschweig or maybe German stay away. They were unfriendly from the get-go. They brought a sign to our table, slammed it die, and announced loudly, 'You have to be gone by 1:30.' That was 90 minutes away. We weren't planning to sit there forever, but that was rude. The food was okay. Hubs liked his better than I did mine. Overall bad taste in my mouth.

Good place for lunch and dinner, the portion is greatly large and price is fairly low. Drinks are small but good quality. Meat is gorgeous and delicious. Menu isn't too various but enough. Place is kind of narrow so not good for large groups, but small groups of 5 would be okay to fit in or out.

This is very convenient and the decor is great. The asparagus was their special and I should have gotten the hollandaise sauce as the melted butter added no real flavor. The veal schnitzel was adequate, rather bland breading; my son got the Max plate and it was pork rahmschnitzel. Very large portions. 1 lb of asparagus. Bratkartoffeln was cooked with bacon or ham but lacked the other spices I have come to enjoy. The specials were over priced for quality but not quantity. The regular menu was on target price wise. I have had much better in smaller towns. Kids enjoyed playing iSpy with all of the stuff on the walls and ceiling. Overall it is ok not a place I'll go back to, but I don't regret eating there.

My friend (who is a local) took me here on a Sunday because it was listed in the Lonely Planet travelers guide. It's a cozy bar/restaurant filled with misc knick-knacks on the walls. English menus are available. Portions are huge relative to European standards so I suppose that means its about right for us folks from the states. Oink oink! Not sure how authentic it is for German fare but I had some kind of chicken breast on a bed of mashed potatoes with steamed vegetables and collared greens. Decent food that fills you up. Moderately priced.

Excellent food and service. Restaurant originated in 1800's and has kept the old time feel. A must for travelers. Must try the Kartpffelschnaps mit Gedöns!
