Dallas Dog Park and Restaurant Mutts Canine Cantina Opens in Austin | Eater Austin

"A Dallas-based dog park, restaurant, and bar opening in Austin’s Lakeline area that operates on a membership model (daily, monthly, or annual) to grant access to its facilities; once inside, dogs can run and play in staff-overseen areas while owners eat and drink. The site occupies about 1.6 acres and features multiple fenced play areas, a splash zone, dog washing stations, patios, fire pits, and private cabanas. The human menu focuses on casual American fare (chicken sandwiches, burgers, fries, breakfast tacos, grilled cheese with crispy pickles) and a broad drink list (margaritas, Texas mules, frozen drinks, boozy and non-boozy milkshakes, wine, and beer), while canine offerings include small hot dogs and frozen popsicles made with beef broth and peanut butter, served with an edible bone. Regular business hours are 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 11 a.m.–midnight Friday–Saturday, and members may enter the park from 5 a.m.–midnight daily (though dog staff are not on-site outside normal business hours). The concept first launched in Dallas in 2013 and added a Fort Worth location in 2018, with additional Austin and out-of-state expansions planned; initial Austin openings experienced delays." - Nadia Chaudhury

Our time at Mutts Canine Cantina was great but our dog’s was even better. We always look for opportunities in the Austin area to socialize our dog and have fun as owners and Mutts presents the best combination of the two we’ve seen so far. Parking at Mutts was pretty smooth but it does look like it could be difficult on days or times where many owners decide to stop by. When entering there are a lot of security precautions in place ensuring that it would be VERY difficult for dogs to escape which is much appreciated. To get into the dog park itself you need to purchase a day pass which runs $14, there are other options like weekly, monthly, or even membership passes but as first timers we didn’t want to commit too hard just yet. Ordering is pretty straightforward and the food options are simple, burgers and tenders and fries. They do also have a dog menu but it is very lacking for being a dog focused place, just two options for dogs and both involve peanut butter so in the case your dog is strange and doesn’t like peanut butter then you’re out of luck. There’s a good amount of seating on the patio for food and the interior of the dog park also has a lot of seating and things for dogs as well like rocks, baths, and water bowls. They have a big screen out in the yard too so if you’re into sports and would like to bring your dog somewhere to watch then this is a great option. Beware that you SHOULD NOT bring food into the yard, they don’t explicitly say it but just know that is not a good idea. Overall, Mutts is an awesome place to bring a dog and just hang out and have them (or you) socialize. Consider stopping by with your dog when you have a chance!

My friend/neighbor invited me to be her guest a couple of times with my dog, Rambo and we always had a great time! I decided that I would become a member and this dog park has really helped my little guy (10lbs) gain more confidence! There is a nice little community, and most people are super friendly. The staff is really great and caring, and the owners are super nice! Solid beer selection, and a full bar. I haven’t tried the food yet, but I intend to.

About a week ago we took our elderly dog "Troy" here as an experience, since he had limited time left with us. We just wanted him to eat some food out and see other dogs and people. We were never going to put him in the dog park since he's 16yo and disabled. The owner greeted us and asked if we wanted to sit on the back patio so he could watch all the dogs through the fence. She was so very kind to Troy and us. She even told other customers about his situation, and they brought their dogs over to see him. We had a wonderful experience and Troy got to receive a lot of love. I wanted to thank everyone who came up to us, you made our night very special.

Update: It took a whole month and an Austin 311 Code Enforcement request to get this simple matter resolved, but I am pleased to report that my entire apartment complex has our nighttime darkness back, and the bar’s security lights now point down onto their own property. I have had zero in-person interactions with the owners of this establishment, but after this experience, and reading the appalling way customers, former supporters, and ex employees are spoken to online in public replies from the business owner, there is very little that could convince me to return to this venue as a customer. When there are this many messy online interactions with your client base, it’s time to look in the mirror and consider hiring a marketing/pr manager who can handle public relations with grace. Reply: You can clearly see which lights are a problem from the pictures attached to this review. There are 2 rectangular LED floodlight panels which are mounted on the south side of your building’s metal awning, with no light hoods installed to shield neighboring residences from direct light pollution, as required by Austin city code. OP: Initially, we loved this place. A quick and easy beer next door, walkable, and a welcome replacement for the empty lot that was next to the apartment we've lived in for years. Over time, the over-amped music from their musical guests got super annoying, but my biggest issue is that they have security lights pointing UP at the apartment complex next door where we live. We have kindly mentioned it to the staff when visiting, called about it, and asked that they consider making adjustments, but we no longer visit this establishment (despite its proximity) because of the blatant disregard for neighboring residences. I understand having security lights to illuminate your parking lot and property, but why are they extending several hundred feet beyond your property and aimed up at the 3rd story of the apartment complex next door? I was unable to find updated contact information for anyone who might be able to escalate for me, since this location is no longer listed on MUTTS website, and The Tailgate ATX website doesn't have a "contact us" button anywhere visible. Please adjust your security lights so that the beams of light do not point up into the homes of your neighbors. Thank you.

I was concerned after reading some of the reviews, but I came anyway. I love that it’s open late (11pm) and the food and drinks were good. I had the frozen alcoholic lemonade, which was delicious, and the chicken tenders, which were good. The portions of the food are very generous, but the portions of the sauces are not. There’s no reason to fill sauce cups less than half way up, it’s just unnecessary—sauce is cheap. Probably more waste having to ask for a second plastic cup instead of just providing a full cup in the first place. Anyway, overall good experience, and definitely worth the cost of entry.

My Golden and I love The Tailgate ATX! The staff and owners are awesome, the park is so fun, and we’ve made so many friends since being members. 10/10 recommend bringing your pup to The Tailgate ATX!!

This place had a recent name change due to the owners going independent from the franchise after it was bought by a corporation in Canada. Due to them going independent, they’ve had the freedom to change up their menu items and cocktails, and to hold more special events. I’ve been taking my dog here for 2 years now, and this place is fantastic! They have a great beer selection and many delicious cocktails. Their burgers are my favorite thing on the menu, and they’re BIG. The staff is friendly, and the bark rangers are great at “keeping the peace” in the dog park. There are dog fights that break out from time to time, but that happens at all dog parks, however the bark rangers are very quick to intervene. I do wish they had more shade because it gets really hot on some summer days, and there isn’t enough shade in the dog park to block out the sun. My dog absolutely loves their splash pad, and during the summer they bring out kiddie pools and fill them up with ice for the dogs to roll around in and cool off. Every single time I drive up to Mutts and pull into their parking lot, my dog gets ecstatic like a kid arriving to an amusement park. She has the best time here running around, meeting new dogs and people, and it lets me chill out with a beer and make new friends. I highly recommend you check this place out. I’ve been to literally all of the other dog park bars in Austin, and this place is 1000% the best out of them all. It’s very well maintained and clean. I highly recommend you give this place a visit!

Google
My dog loves this place! We go about once a week. He always finds fun and friendly pups for a game of chase or to hang out with in the splash pad area. Everyone is so friendly and nice. There is a convenient area with hoses to rinse him off before we leave if he rolls around and gets dusty. Snacks and yummy drinks available. Very laid back place where we can relax while the dogs run and play.

Yelp
Came for an hour or so and stayed for five! I had been to Mutts once before as part of a yelp event, and we had a great time and were looking forward to coming back. You pay $12 per dog and people are free:) I do think that $12 is a little steep, 8-10 feels more reasonable, but they do have a good monthly pass membership if you live near there and can go frequently. Aside from the large dog yard and splash pad, they have a separate space for small dogs, a big stage with a massive screen for either live music or watching football, a dog washing station, rentable cabanas and then a full bar and restaurant. I noticed they added picnic tables in the dog yard which was different from last time but welcome. Otherwise, they just have plastic chairs scattered around to sit in. They have a pretty good drink menu with beers and cocktails and reasonably priced for Austin. We got a round of drinks- a beer and a margarita. The frozen marg packs a punch and is a perfect price point at $8.95! We then ordered chips and salsa, fried pickles, a cheeseburger and fries and chicken tenders with fries. We were having so much fun eating and drinking (more margs were ordered) and watching football we called our friends down to hang (who don't even have dogs)! The cheeseburger had a good charbroiled taste and a healthy amount of fries, I would order again for $11. Chicken tenders were a bit over fried but good. The $5 fried pickles were delicious and a good option size. I would recommend skipping the chips and salsa- it was a small container of what tasted like Tostitos chips and two ramekins of salsa that tasted like tomato sauce. They do also have two dog treats on menu. They have workers manning the dog area to help keep the dogs in line, which is nice. Again, we were having a great time eating food, drinking the margs and watching football and it was a huge bonus that we could have our pup with us the whole time, running around and playing. We are absolutely planning to go back to have another football funday! A few things I would love to see that would make it a 5 star experience: More shade out in the dog area. I think there were umbrellas at one point, but man it gets HOT in the sun and I think having a lot of those to cover the people seats would be great. Second, more balls for the dogs out in the yard so we can throw them. Third, I would love to see that $12 dog fee a little cheaper. And fourth, they have a happy hour during the week but to really draw in the football crowd I wished they leaned into football with some game day specials (they did have cute decor out!). Overall, I really hope this place stays in business. GREAT drinks, clean and well maintained, and a fun place to hang with friends (furry or otherwise)!

Yelp
The space, the vibe is so great. We need more places like this up north. The staffs are all super stars, they greeted all the pups as if they were theirs. Once we were sat they immediately bring icy water bowl for my dog. Later, a staff even gifted my dog a pupsticle, and fed him until he finished. I love that girl!

Yelp
We went to mutts tonight for an event and tour of the grounds which was quite nice. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Food took about 15 minutes to come out which is average. I wanted to write this review because the grilled cheese and fried pickle sandwich as well as the frozen pomegranate lemonade were both very impressive. I would go back just for these! Fries were average. Thanks mutts for a great time!

Yelp
The staff here is amazing! My dog is shy and sadly not dog friendly, but loves being outside - so we had to sit on the benches area to stay cool etc, and the team made sure to give my pup extra love which really stood out and made it a true joy to be there! He loved the food, pupsicle, and the food we had as well - hamburger with fries, was also delicious! Love this place, and will definitely return!

Yelp
Everyone who knows me knows I normally 100% support any dog-friendly venue. I really wanted to love this place but I have to be honest when I say that my entire experience was so disappointing. If this wasn't a dog-friendly venue I would be giving 1 or 2 stars max. Let's start with the a positive- the people who greeted us were very friendly. It pretty much goes downhill from there.... One of the things that lured me in to check this place out was the promise that their Bark Rangers picked up after your dog ( so you don't have to watch them like a hawk the entire time) and made sure water bowls were full. I legit saw 3 dogs poo right in front of the "bark rangers" and they just looked away. There was poo scattered everywhere. I ended up picking up 3 big piles that weren't even from my dogs but my dogs were so close to stepping in it I just did it myself. The bartenders have no idea what they're doing. They didn't even know how to open a cocktail shaker. Not kidding. They also measure your drinks to a ridiculous standpoint. They fill the cup with so much ice it's crazy overflowing so when I asked for less ice the drink mix they were trained to memorize barely made it past the halfway point. They filled the rest with soda water which didn't make the drink taste good. I guess I just don't understand why anyone would ever pay to become a member here when they don't have any real perks to membership? The Bark Rangers don't clean up after your dog so you still have to watch them like a hawk. You only get a 10% discount on food and no discount on drinks. Also, the drinks aren't cheap and they barely, barely, contain one shot of alcohol and the food is totally meh, not memorable. The space isn't even that big. I mean, why would anyone pay to bring your dog(s) to a mediocre dog park when they have massive amazing dog parks in the area for free? Disappointing. Oh- and the splash pad doesn't work? I asked 3 workers and 2 told me it doesn't work and 1 told me it wasn't on because of weather but admitted she has never seen it on. If you're going to charge membership fees then bring attractions to why someone should pay to be a member. Well-made good drinks at a discount, delicious food at a discount. Experienced help. Helpful help. Cleaner bathrooms. None of those are included at this place. Not worth it. Stay away.

Yelp
The service today for my family and I along with a couple of friends was great! One of the owners came out and talked with us about our food experience. He asked us what we thought about our food. Most of us bought the double mutt cheeseburgers and two of my kids got the chicken tender meals. All the meals come with a drink and crinkle-cut fries. And meals are right at or under $10. With today's inflated prices not a bad deal for bringing a family to eat here. We let the owner know about our opinions with our food and he took some mental notes. One of the orders did get a mix up; however, the owner replaced the burger with the correct order of just a plain burger. We had to give our friend some hazing for ordering just a plain burger. But even the owner respected his wishes and understood the importance of his customer's wishes. Everything was made fresh and the crinkle-cut fries were cooked on point! Not overcooked and not undercooked! They even had enough salt flavor to them. I think they should consider selling some seasoned fries or chilly cheese fries. I cannot remember if they offered that on their menu. They plenty of alcohol choices to choose from on tap as well. There are some TVs in the area, but they definitely could some more for the big UT, FC, or NFL games. The staff today were very friendly and cheerful! The young lady and man taking orders were way cool! They asked us how our day was and we returned the common courtesy of asking how their day was as well. There are plenty of picnic tables to sit and enjoy your meal if you're there just to eat and not use the dog park. I didn't bring my pets because I wanted to check out the atmosphere here first. They offer a lot of fun for your pets here. Just like children you have some rowdy pets full of excitement because they want to play with other pets. If you can get passed the anxiety of that you will be okay should you run into some of those type of pets. When you enter the facility you have two gender neutral restrooms and there's a dog wash tub right next to the bathrooms to wash up your pets. Parking space is very limited. Parking any large vehicles is going to be tight, but if you have a compact or SUV type vehicle you will be okay. They even have charging station parking for you early adopter EV crowd. When I said parking was tight they did say where else I could park in the future. That was a cool tip in my book. But be warned people with larger vehicles parking space is tight. As for the dog park check out their website before coming here with your pet. They do have a set of rules you must follow and I agree with them. Per their website information about the dog park: "To Enter The Park, Dogs Mutts Be: Spayed / Neutered Friendly and sociable around people and other dogs (not overly aggressive). Flea and tick free Current within the calendar year on vaccinations, including rabies, dhlppc and bordetella." The location of this place is in a perfect spot but I can see this place taking off in the Austin area that they are going to need more locations around the area once everyone catches on to this place. Again, come check this place out everyone... before bringing your pets check their website out and FAQ section of the dog park. Great information to help you and your pet's experience be a fun full filled of enjoyment! Also, they accept contact less payment such as Apple or Google pay.

Yelp
What a cute hangout area for dogs and humans alike! A day pass is $12.95 (prices are based on number of dogs, not number of humans) and they require that dogs are vaccinated. The staff I've talked to are all super friendly! There is a section for small dogs, and a larger section for larger dogs. Their fence system is very thorough so no dogs will run out and escape. Love how they have accommodations for humans, such as free wifi and a large covered area with picnic tables. Their menu offers hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries, etc. which are surprisingly good. They have a stage and will have live music sometimes! It might be a bit loud for a small dog though. I do wish they had a larger parking lot, since it gets full easily during events. But, there's a small shopping area across the street that I've parked in before as well.

Yelp
We were trying a few dog parks for my pup to get more comfortable playing with other pups and Mutts was suggested to us by a friend. I must say, what a fun spot (with very limited parking). We were helped by a great young lady who helped us understand the monthly pass, the general rules of the park and all the ins & outs. I enjoy that they had a TV making it easier for dog parents to pass their own time; the folks watching the dogs did great and they were on top of it, they had little swimming pools filled with ice so the dogs can cool off. They have a decent shaded area but there's more unshaded than shaded area; a splash pad; and to eat / order any food, you have to walk outside of the play area so you're not leaving food crumbs in the dog play area. I love most the washing station, it was so nice to be able to rinse off my dog before getting in the car. While we didn't try any food, we definitely had some drinks and I can't remember the name of what I had but it was great! Perfect for a hot day while watching my pup have a great time.

Yelp
We really wanted to like this place and had planned on getting a membership when we heard it was opening. That said, it has a couple major flaws that once fixed would make it a great place to go. - there's zero shade. Like, none lol. Not a tree or overhang or shade sail in sight. The only covered area is the bar / eating area and the splash pad. - the splash pad's ground is all angled in so the water drains properly, which is fine except the ground is slippery af. Watched so many dog's legs slipping out from under them just from walking around. Senior dogs or dogs with hip problems, beware! Adding grippy flooring like a pool deck would solve this easily. - besides in the eating area, there was almost no seating; just some flimsy plastic chairs scattered around. Some benches or picnic tables would be great. I'd love to visit again and be able to update this review! It has so much potential.

Yelp
This space is huge and super clean & brand spanking new. We had their cheeseburger and chicken sando. Both were pretty good. The fries came with each order and a drink. We had a cabana (reservable at a pretty good rate) which was enclosed so our dogs were able to enjoy their separate time until they were ready to mingle. Separate enclosures for big and small dogs, a splash pad, two separate places to order food and bar, a stage ... this place has everything. We sat back and dog watched while eating our sandwiches and sipping on our pawgarita drink.
google avatar

Dev O.

Yelp
Got to say that chicken sammich was really good! As Is the pink ginger beer drink! But I do find it odd that you have to pay to bring your dog in? Or get a yearly membership.
google avatar

Carolyn W.

Yelp
No Dog? no problem! I'm a dog "grandparent" about ready to dive in again but in the interim I enjoy stopping by to enjoy a cold brew (fav bartender Kira) and play with the dogs ("Rex" the retrieving lemon beagle my personal favorite!) along with my favorite Bark Rangers Amanda and Nathan!
google avatar

Audi L.

Yelp
Love the concept. Food and drinks are good. 4/5 only because they need a better call system to pickup food. I suggest by number instead of name. Many people with same first name got their orders wrong due to this.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
My dog's second favorite place! People are so nice here! My dog always has so much fun. It's really clean and the drinks are great. We have gotten hh sundays which are $3 mimosas. Food is great as well! And the fact that they have so many amenities for dogs and people makes this place the best dog park in Austin.
google avatar

Jenmarie P.

Yelp
Fun and relaxing space to hang with the pooch after work. Grab a beer, food, and let the pup(s) play. Membership is worth it if you go more than a few times in a month. Day pass is pricey. Staff is awesome
google avatar

Rain S.

Yelp
Pros - 1. Clean 2. Friendly staff 3. Has an area to hose off your dog. Cons - 1. Limited parking 2. You have to scan a code and go through a whole process to enter. It would have been a better experience if a staff member helped check people in rather than watching us fumble around trying to figure out. 3. $13 to enter is a bit too pricey. Overall, it's a nice addition to the community but I can't see myself returning on a regular basis.

Yelp
It's good solid fried american food. The fries were crispy and perfect. The breading is delicious. The burger and chicken in the sandwiches was juicy and perfect. Even the bun was perfectly toasted. Solid delicious all American fare at a dog park with big screen TVs, covered seating with heaters for the cold and fans for the heat, a beautiful gas campfire for s'mores, and there are splash pads, climbing obstacles, washing stations, and menu items specifically for the dogs? Really a great idea. I don't have a dog, but this is next door to my apartment and there are charging stations at the tables, so I imagine spending time here during the nice weather of fall and spring. Also, my husband is an IPA snob and they have Pinthouse's beloved Electric Jellyfish on tap so we'll be walking over here on a regular basis from Bexley. :)

Robin B.

Yelp
They charge you to go to the dog park, they make you get some sort of membership. It's absolutely crazy. You can order food and it's expensive and it's not any good at all, I will never return!

Yelp
We LOVE Mutts!! There is a person who pretty much dog sits the whole time. It's nice and clean. Food is ok, drinks are well priced. On the day we went there were some happy hour drinks. The other dog parents are pretty cool as well. My dog recently started humping other dogs *eye-roll*. The people who were monitoring the dogs stopped his behavior immediately which was really awesome and totally unexpected. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Safe and hassle-free. Great staff and chicken is low-key good! Our dog and kids love it

Yelp
What a great place to bring your fur babies! It has everything and is set up well to keep everyone safe and happy. They have a splash pad and dunking pools for the dogs so they can stay cool on the hot days. And a large yard for the big pups and smaller area for the dogs under 30lbs. The attendants on hand were on top of picking up the dog poop and making sure all was on the up and up. We had the chicken sandwich and burger, they were okay. The margaritas were amazing! This pup had an amazing time and so did we. They have memberships that you can pay monthly or yearly and were super affordable!!! Around a dollar a day! Totally worth it for a safe and fun dog park experience. The owners came around a greeted us. Nice to support a local business with great owners. You can even rent a cabana for more privacy or for parties! Highly recommended visiting & getting a membership!
google avatar

Yelp
I loved it here! Great food and lots of new friends! They have people out in the dog area that make sure the poop is being picked up and to break up dogs that are being too rough. I'm knocking a star bc they take your credit card to hold a tab, which I don't think is necessary.

Rod L.

Yelp
We refer to Mutts as the "Canine Country Club!" Good food and great evenings - dog-driven, not just dog friendly

Mark M.

Yelp
Awesome new dog park. Had a slight issue with type of payment tolerated. I actually live in walking distance. I was registered online before opened. But they got it right second time. We try to visit all Austin dog parks. In fact if not for the awesome dog parks of Austin, would have put this in rear view during pandemic. The. APD is worst police agency I. World

Maddie E.

Yelp
Surprisingly clean dog park. Friendly dogs and people for the most part, 25$ for unlimited monthly membership isn't bad at all! Lots of tvs and they seem to have fixed the "no shade" problem. Dog water park and baths available before you take your tired pup back home!

Yelp
Okay, so.... I came to try this place out because a Yelp event was being hosted here. Vibes: 10/10. Love the idea of having a bar + dog park combo, so the humans can hang out & eat while the dogs get to run around. The space is pretty big and there's plenty for the dogs to do. There's a splash pad for those water loving dogs. Bonus: there's a bathing area if your pup gets dirty from running around. Also love that there's a dedicated play area for smaller dogs. They have staff members walking around and they interact with the dogs, make sure there's water and they were really good at picking up after the dogs. There are also cabanas you can rent for parties and such!! I'm only docking this place one star because I don't like how the only way you can bring your dog is if you're a member. If you want to come here just to grab a bite to eat, drink & listen to live music it's free - you just can't bring your dog. I have an older dog so I don't think I'd utilize this place, but I do encourage anybody with a dog to at least try it out! I do believe they offer day passes. The drinks we had were tasty and they offer typical bar food. Overall it was a great experience.

Yelp
i can't say enough good things about this place. they have the best burgers and fries, drinks are immaculat. the staff is wonderful. my dog loves it here. they even have a little splash park area, that's covered. staff is super friendly and constantly making sure your dog has ice water. i would consider this place an upscale/luxury dog park and nice hang out spot. they have two large screens here and they put on the Austin fc game after we requested it. love this place.

Yelp
Unless you pay $12.95/day or $35/mo per dog, you're limited to a depressing and tiny little concrete area by the entrance. This place won't last 6 months.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend always look for places to eat that allow doggies but MUTTS has been the BEST by far. First I will start by saying the experience is mainly going to be for your pup :). They have an insanely huge pup yard for the big doggies and a smaller yard for the tiny doggies. It is super neat and they also have someone on the yard keeping the peace between the doggies in case they start being rough or some PDA acts :0... they do have food to order + a bar with a great selection they also had doggie treats which is so great to add to the experience for your pup. Me and my boyfriend order the MUTTS burger, fried pickles and a jellyfish. After watching the eclipse I ordered a pupsicle for my baby and he loved it . The staff was great and friendly. It was our first time their and we weren't aware that you had to pay for a "day pass" for the pup which is only $12 but staff was amazing in walking me trough the steps of registering my baby so that he could go have fun and play. Will be brining him here again and will also tell my friends with doggies to take their doggies to socialize with other pups

Yelp
I have been to Mutt's a couple of times and this is why I gave them a two. Areas of improvement: Mutt Rangers being aware of dog behaviors and when a dog is being ganged up on or humped consistently be another dog. The Mutt Ranger was not proactive nor reactive until I asked for help. Mutt Rangers could mix more through out the dog park. I noticed a tendency that they would tend to hang with dog parents they knew and stand there. Owners of the fur babies tended to not monitor their dogs are have awareness where they were in the park. This also contributing to acting out behaviors being unchecked with the dogs. There was only one bartender on a Sunday to manage both windows. I would like to give a shout out to her for being very friendly given the business. Increase numbers of umbrellas Positive feedback The park provides plenty of running room and the splash pad. Drinks are reasonable priced. Plenty of room in the food/patio area. I see that there is a lot of potential for Mutt's and might try again in a few months. My feedback is based on my experiences in other bar dog parks. Dog parks and bars are great for both dog and parents to socialize

Yelp
After a delayed opening because the city of Austin stinks with permitting this gem has finally opened! My husband and I took our dogs to the founders club soft opening event last night and had the best time! We live 2 minutes from here so it's going to be a frequent spot. I had a great greasy burger! And he had the chicken sandwich and my favorite kind of fries (the crinkle ones) and we both had cocktails. The margarita gets a little too icy for my taste so I would opt for rocks next time. As for the dog section, the bark ranger that was there last night was just the sweetest and she cuddled and pet our dogs like they were her own. All the other dogs were well behaved and we met a lot of friendly dog owners too! The cabanas are plush and relaxing so I can't wait for warmer weather to enjoy those! One of the owners Lisa was there to welcome us and gave us a swag bag and she was super nice and remembered me from Instagram. Very personable. Good job ladies! Can't wait to spend more time here soon!

Yelp
Kira, Kaitlyn and Desiree are amazing. Good convos, drinks and they each listen to concerns being made. They each deserve 5 stars.

Yelp
Wow , what a neat place for dogs and us humans! Cold beer, plenty stuff for the dogs to do, the splash pad is awesome in the Texas summer. The food is good as well . I enjoyed watching sports on the huge screen ! Can't wait to go back! The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about their services.

Yelp
so much fun at Mutts!! my furry babies had the greatest time and we enjoyed visiting with friends over a cocktail. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fun with friends... furry and otherwise!!

Yelp
This place is like a human and dog oasis. The staff was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the place. It's way bigger than advertised. Great food and drinks. There was maybe 40-50+ dogs of all sizes. Every dog was very well behaved and friendly. You can relax on the lawn chairs while your dog runs and plays in the open area or splash pad. It was a lil vacation. Lots of staff that will watch the dogs while you eat and enjoy yourself. Met lots of friendly responsible locals . Found this place by accident and will be going back. Thank you to all the staff y'all are great!!

Yelp
By far the best dog friendly place I have gone to. All their rules are reasonable and anyone who says otherwise is a bit obnoxious. This place is amazing they have an amazing staff who are very informative and dedicated to having satisfied customers and satisfied dogs. A very welcoming environment that comes with so many amenities for a small fee and it last all day. Would recommend anyone who is trying to socialize their pup pals and a great place to spend any day of the week.

Yelp
Our first and last time stoping by we were greeted by the employees but weren't guided on options to get inside the park. As we were leaving (didn't bother to stay) this woman got off her car and advised us not to leave our vehicle unmonitored as her parked car was crashed into in the MUTTS parking lot. No cameras in the parking lot and she was in the front were employees can see/hear now I know they weren't hired to be parking lot security but it's very discouraging paying to go in the lounge area and leaving with your vehicle crashed.

Yelp
Love this place! New favorite to hang out with our babies and meet other dog parents. Food is yummy, drinks are great and the crew is super friendly, welcoming and attentive. No complaints here, keep it up MUTTS!

Yelp
First time visiting Mutts Canine Cantina, and Amanda was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly helpful and so sweet, will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
It was my first time here and I was confused as to why all the gates were locked and I couldn't get in. I was ignored by the staff, they all had their backs turned at the bar, so I couldn't even ask questions, or let them know my first time. Absurd you have to pay $350 to eat at a restaurant. Dog friendly bars/restaurants are not a new concept(This is Austin Tx, the entire city is dog friendly). There are plenty of establishments that don't require memberships. Save your money go someplace else.

Yelp
Mutts is amazing! The perfect environment to bring the pup and the drinks are great. Kira at the bar was incredibly friendly and made fantastic cocktails.

Yelp
Mutts is the standard that dog park/bar combos should follow. The bark rangers are very attentive and thorough, the food and drinks are delicious. Overall, just great vibes. My pup had the best day, and it feels like a great community. Highly recommend.

Yelp
A great, fun place for your dog. Amanda gave my daughter and I a fantastic tour which was pretty necessary because otherwise I would not have figured anything out. I don't have very many spayed or neutered dogs at my house so I probably won't be visiting that often but it's a great stop/break for your dog--especially if you are out running errands or want to dine with your canine companion. I gave four stars instead of five because I thought just being able to sit on the back patio with your leashed dog was a little pricey--especially if you are there to eat and drink. Maybe they could offset the back patio per dog price with how much food and drinks you ordered.

Yelp
went for first time and service was great! our girl desiree was very attentive! what was funny was that w her curly hair she looked like my daughter in law ! will be back again !
