Yelp
Came for an hour or so and stayed for five!
I had been to Mutts once before as part of a yelp event, and we had a great time and were looking forward to coming back. You pay $12 per dog and people are free:) I do think that $12 is a little steep, 8-10 feels more reasonable, but they do have a good monthly pass membership if you live near there and can go frequently.
Aside from the large dog yard and splash pad, they have a separate space for small dogs, a big stage with a massive screen for either live music or watching football, a dog washing station, rentable cabanas and then a full bar and restaurant. I noticed they added picnic tables in the dog yard which was different from last time but welcome. Otherwise, they just have plastic chairs scattered around to sit in.
They have a pretty good drink menu with beers and cocktails and reasonably priced for Austin. We got a round of drinks- a beer and a margarita. The frozen marg packs a punch and is a perfect price point at $8.95! We then ordered chips and salsa, fried pickles, a cheeseburger and fries and chicken tenders with fries. We were having so much fun eating and drinking (more margs were ordered) and watching football we called our friends down to hang (who don't even have dogs)! The cheeseburger had a good charbroiled taste and a healthy amount of fries, I would order again for $11. Chicken tenders were a bit over fried but good. The $5 fried pickles were delicious and a good option size. I would recommend skipping the chips and salsa- it was a small container of what tasted like Tostitos chips and two ramekins of salsa that tasted like tomato sauce. They do also have two dog treats on menu.
They have workers manning the dog area to help keep the dogs in line, which is nice. Again, we were having a great time eating food, drinking the margs and watching football and it was a huge bonus that we could have our pup with us the whole time, running around and playing. We are absolutely planning to go back to have another football funday!
A few things I would love to see that would make it a 5 star experience: More shade out in the dog area. I think there were umbrellas at one point, but man it gets HOT in the sun and I think having a lot of those to cover the people seats would be great. Second, more balls for the dogs out in the yard so we can throw them. Third, I would love to see that $12 dog fee a little cheaper. And fourth, they have a happy hour during the week but to really draw in the football crowd I wished they leaned into football with some game day specials (they did have cute decor out!).
Overall, I really hope this place stays in business. GREAT drinks, clean and well maintained, and a fun place to hang with friends (furry or otherwise)!
