A National Historic Landmark and the heartbeat of 18th & Vine’s after-hours tradition. Visit KC lists its legendary 1–5 am Friday/Saturday jam sessions with drinks—pure Kansas City jazz culture.
A National Historic Landmark where late-night jam sessions still run into the dawn on weekends. Profiled by public radio and tourism editors as the city’s after-hours heartbeat of jazz culture.
The vibe was cool but nobody was upstairs listening to the Jazz band. Me and my girl went up there to and immediately got screamed at for dancing by some crakhed. Turns out it's the owner? First off no dancing to music is a stupid rule. Second off you need to conduct yourself more professionally instead of immediately screaming at your customers. No wonder the top floor is empty, they're avoiding you.

Been here about a half dozen times since 2003 and every time I am disappointed that they do not open the doors sooner…like days sooner 😜. LOVE IT!!! It has grown over the last 20 years and doubled the cover charge plus some as expected. I feel it is the best kept secret in Kansas City that will leave you feeling special, and part of the under-ground local music scene in KC! I find myself impressing visitors when I take them here and feeling proud of my city when they love it!!!

Live music in the middle of the night is amazing, drinks are cheap, vibes are kinda weird sometimes.
