A Guide to Sukhumvit: Where to Eat, Play, and Stay in Bangkok’s Bustling Downtown Core

"Located in the beating heart of Thonglor, this boutique stay blends practicality with glamour, layering Roaring Twenties–inspired accents—jewel-toned headboards, velvet divans, and vintage alarm clocks—across its rooms and residences." - Craig Sauers

MUU Bangkok Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World (Bangkok, Central Thailand) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Located in the city's stylish Thong Lo district, MUU Bangkok comprises both a boutique hotel and high-end residences; some people live here, and the thoughtful design reflects that reality — the name, after all, is the Thai word for “community.” While rooms have all the amenities one would expect at a luxury hotel, they’re also well-suited to longer stays, and the common areas, from the pool deck to the sophisticated cocktail lounge, encourage socializing." - Tablet Hotels

We booked a Junior Suite and were pretty excited since MUU Bangkok is part of Hilton/SLH. Check-in was smooth but a bit disappointing — the staff weren’t interested in taking my membership details at all. I understand 3rd-party bookings usually don’t get benefits, but I would’ve expected at least points on additional spending, not just a flat no. The room itself was spacious, but the in-room phone didn’t work and even after informing the front desk, no one came to fix it. Housekeeping also didn’t show up despite the “make up room” light being on the whole day, which was frustrating. Another downside was the Wi-Fi — it fluctuated a lot, anywhere from around 5 Mbps up to 50 Mbps. Fine for casual browsing, but not stable enough for remote work or video calls. Location-wise, the hotel sits on top of a small mall with a 24-hour supermarket, which is convenient, but public transport isn’t nearby, so Grab/taxis are the main option. We did get a decent rate for the suite, but overall the experience didn’t feel like what you’d expect from a “Small Luxury Hotel.” Probably won’t rush back.

A very nice hotel in a great location - lots of good restaurants and bars in the vicinity. It was a 15 minute walk to the BTS although the hotel provides a free tuk tuk service. The staff were really friendly. We enjoyed drinks by the pool every night and the bar staff were great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

From the moment I arrived at MUU Bangkok, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Check-in was incredibly fast, efficient, and friendly — the perfect way to begin my stay. Throughout my time there, the staff were outstanding: always attentive, proactive, and ready to assist with anything I needed. Their genuine kindness and professionalism stood out.My room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed — modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. It was a perfect space to relax and unwind after a day exploring the city.MUU Bangkok truly delivers the full experience of a top-tier hotel: exceptional service, stylish accommodations, and a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home. I had a fantastic stay and will be coming back. Highly recommended!

Muu is an extraordinary place! From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us so kindly and helped with everything we needed. They offered shuttles to nearby places, showed us on the map how to get around Bangkok, and even assisted us with deliveries we had sent to the hotel. During our stay, my husband celebrated his birthday, and the hotel organized a wonderful celebration for him that we will never forget. The facilities are fantastic – a Jacuzzi with a view over Bangkok, a pool with a comfortable sitting area, a gym, a restaurant, a bar, and more. We stayed for 4 nights and felt so comfortable the entire time. We’re truly happy we made this choice. A very special thanks to the amazing team, especially Gigi, Jay, and Ya, for making our stay unforgettable!

I LOVE this hotel so much! I have stayed here for over one month twice in their service apartment section. I also stayed at their regular hotel section twice. They are both very good, just depending on what you need and the length of stay. My favorite is the housekeeper Khun Nam. She is amazing!! I am always happy to see here. She does a great job and knows exactly what I want with the room. She really gives you this positive vibe. Hard to find someone so good!! I love the concierge team with Khun Ae and other team members. I appreciate their help with getting the car to different places. They do such a good job. I even ran into one of the staff when I was on holiday in Pattaya. I literally took that as a sign to come back. So I booked it a 4th time! LOL I am bringing my clients to this hotel as well in Nov. I stayed at many hotels in the world. I love MUU for the positivity that the staff brings me!!! See photos for the room and hotel. The hotel room is newer than the service apartment room. Just FYI

We stayed at the hotel for 2 days and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional throughout our stay. A special shout-out to Jay, who helped us with a quick and efficient check-out when we were running late for our early morning flight—his assistance really made a difference and we appreciated the smooth service. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Had a wonderful stay at Muu Bangkok. The service was absolutely outstanding and extremely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel is small enough to feel that the service is very personal. Rooms not over opulent but very clean functional and quiet. Most importantly a really comfortable bed.

My family and I stayed in the MUU Bangkok Hotel two weeks ago in the two bedroom suite room. The room was wonderful. It was more like an apartment than a hotel room. There was a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms each with it's own connecting spacious bathroom, and my favorite part was a washer and dryer in the room. The room was very clean but the only complaint we had was there was a strange smell in the kitchen and laundry area. You couldn't smell it in the bedrooms and once you were in the room for 5 minutes you couldn't really notice the smell anymore. The room was extremely quiet, even though we were in the room right next to the elevators. We never heard any noise from outside the room. We were on the ninth floor and the view wasn't the best, we looked out on a building rooftop. Overall we really liked the room and it was so nice to have the extra space, and washer and dryer for our family. The breakfast was very good. They had a buffet and you can also order items off their menu. They had a good selection and our family enjoyed it. The location was great. There were shops and restaurants on the bottom floor of the hotel. I recommend the small macaroon store, the macaroons were delicious. There were also a lot of other restaurants within walking distance. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again.
