Adams Morgan gives you many options for your post-drunken festivities, but you can't do too much better than some karaoke at Muzettes. At $40 per hour for a room, it's much more expensive than a jumbo slice, but you will probably have much less gastro-regret.
When it comes to belting out tunes, I ain't no Mariah, so it's a private room or nothing for me, and that is Muzette's biggest strength. They have a surprisingly large maze of rooms in this basement. So while they are $5 more expensive than the Chinatown wok n roll (probably the only other suitable private room karaoke joint I have experienced in DC), the demand for a room is much lower at Muzette. They were able to accommodate a party of three with only 20 minutes notice. Nice.
We just did the karaoke, so I can't speak to the food or drink. But, for our karaoke needs, they were quick to set us up. They use the same system as wok n roll, with its inkling searches and mix of Western and Eastern artists. We had a fun time singing our lungs dry. The room was spacious, dimly lit to perfection, and had two couches plus plenty of standing room to suit different preferences. They also had a call button in room to summon a waiter if needed.
One caveat: while the rooms are private, the doors are glass, so creepers can creep. And when your time is running dry, one of the employees pokes his head in and gives a one song warning...then stands and watches through the glass to make sure you don't cheat, silently judging the whole time. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun, and I'm sure we'll be back.
