Quebec’s New Culinary Prize Unveils Its First Batch of Finalists | Eater Montreal

"Subject to community pressure—police, elected officials and neighbours had sought to have the St-Laurent club shut down over repeated disturbances—Muzique was nevertheless allowed to remain open, albeit with a requirement to provide enhanced security." - Tim Forster

Went to the Friday night rooftop comedy show - the show was cheap and fun, but the girl bartending seemed to have no experience with alcohol. We (and several others we observed) ordered gin and tonics and the girl instead made every single person who ordered a gin and tonic a tequila soda (she didn’t seem to realize the difference). She seemed stressed so we didn’t say anything but the venue should probably invest more in their staffing.

My friends and I came to support a DJ from our home town that was playing. Once we got inside, there was not a great amount of direction of where to go. The staff members are very disorganized and impolite. The bouncer/security inside is extremely rude and hostile. He was not professional at all. The coat check people were also impolite. They charged us to check our coat and my friend only had a big bill which she gave to him for all of our coats. He took the whole bill without giving change back. He then proceeded to trash talk us to his colleague once asked about it without knowing that my friend understood everything he said to the other staff. We never received the change back. The DJ we came to support was great. Our experience would have been so much better if the staff were nice and/or organized.

Paid $13+tip for the weakest gin and tonic I’ve ever tasted - and I’m usually the guy who’s asking for more tonic because I’m sensitive to the taste of liquor. When I complained (for the first time in my life) to the bartender that it was super weak, she advised me that it was pre-mixed and she had no control over it, which leads me to suspect this was purposeful - not an honest mistake. Also, when my friends and I were outside deciding whether we wanted to check it out, the bouncer told us that if we went in we’d all be leaving with women, but none of did so he sold us on a false dream!!

Had to call and text 10+ times to get my deposit back after booking a booth at this nightclub. The club has gone downhill a lot. I have been 3 times, each spaced out by a few years, and each time they have had to close off more of the dance floor for lack of people there. This time around, they had closed 2 major sections and even then the dance floor was so sparse. Seems like people in Montreal like different nightclubs now.

Went to the rooftop for a comedy show. The setting is cute. The shows seemed like it was sold out but there was just one bar tender. On the show ticket, it was advertised as a full bar menu but they only had a few options. In addition, the drinks were very small for the prices, compared to what I'm used to in Montreal. The sprite was so flat, it tasted like water. Will most likely find another location for the next comedy show.

Google
The vibe in there was awesome. It was better than some other clubs in downtown. However, the toilets were missing soap for washing hands, don't know why. Also, there was another major issue, the drinks were too diluted or watered down. We ordered over 15 tequila shots and could barely even feel like we had any alcohol. I mean come on, after spending over $150+ per order, we'd expect a bit better quality than that. The staff's behavior was good though!!

Jack D.

Google
Club was empty and bar tender was rude. Bar tender said we didn’t tip her after tipping 5 dollars previously for a 30 dollar order. Bar tender tried ripping off my friend for a 20 dollar grey goose shot that she “rung up wrong”. Club was empty and staff kept saying people would show up later in the night. Don’t waste your time go to any other club Google recommends.

Google
The staff was friendly and sweet. I got a guest list, all thanks to touché Dag. My group of friends had fun and the dj was great playing old school jams. The barmaid was kind and easy to talk with. Downtown Montreal is full of detour but we managed to make it there on time. Street parking right in front of the club.

Yelp
Music was great, $20 per person cover charge was worth it! We bought a bottle since it would be cheaper than a bunch of drinks, highly recommend! Amy helped us at the bar and she is AMAZING, super sweet and generous!!! She gave us free shots :) definitely coming back!!

Julian D.

Yelp
Ordered a drink and I literally watched as the bartender poured a "splash" of vodka and then filled the rest with ice and soda water. I'm not a cheap guy so I just brushed it off and didn't plan to order any more. But then the bill came up, $16? Really? And when I tapped my card, the bartender took the machine from me and tried to secretly choose a 25% tip, but honestly it wasn't hard to spot. Not like I could do anything about it though, so he basically just stole that money from me. I then ask for the receipt and he shows me that the printer isn't printing it properly and just throws it out and walks away. I can understand marking up drinks, and I can understand watering them down. But both? And then stealing a tip? This is unacceptable and the latter is even illegal. Music was nice but this interaction was too illegal to return or recommend.

Yelp
Went for my brothers bachelor party. Matisse gave us great service, we were able to bypass all lines. Arianne never left my glass empty. Fantastic club, great service, 10/10 would recommend.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Club was so fun bought table for bachelor party and matisse was our hostess and killed it she needs a raise!

Yelp
Perfect for spring break, $20cad entry, $4 coat check, during spring break it will be full of spring breakers. There were a few older guys but not many. There was about 20 older men )not much older like 30) lined up on bleacher-esque rows that watch over everything but they're easy to ignore. Got rejected by a girl that was actually into my friend, got sprayed with champagne, over all good night

Stephanie N.

Yelp
The negative reviews are very accurate STAY AWAY The only reason I gave it two stars and not one was for our lovely server. She should get a 5 star rating. Perhaps things have changed since I was of clubbing age. I rented a table service now that I can afford such things. . Because I am 47 and my daughter is 20 I wanted her to have an experience. She wanted to go to her first club. We are from the states on a mini vacation together so she is of legal drinking age here in Montréal. I spent well over $600 for a table with bottle service. Unwelcome People kept sitting at our table. When I asked a gentleman to please remove himself from our area he wouldn't move. This guy didn't just spend $600.00 for bottle service. I got upset over the situation. Front door staff threw us out because the person sitting at our table was an employee of the club. I hesitated to book this club because of all the negative reviews. Against my better judgment I booked anyway figuring maybe people were wrong. NOPE reviews tend to be at least half way truths. Do not attend this club. We left disappointed and traumatized. I would not recommend this establishment. Do not attend this club if visiting. Perhaps it's better for local patrons. I had way more fun and felt accepted at unity club.

Houday E.

Yelp
I had an exceptional experience thanks to the wonderful service provided by Mrs Angela Ghazarian. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and warm demeanor truly elevated my dining experience. I highly recommend it . taw

Yelp
1 star! Guestlist was respected. We made it online and we did not have to line up for so long. The guy near the door named Mike was very helpful.. Respectful! So here is the deal, it was my friend's birthday and we bought 3 bottles. first we bought 1bottle , then 2 bottles after. The gurl bartender in the counter, Only wants CASH! We did not have enough cash so we went to the machine near the washroom. Extra fee of $3.75.. then after, we bought 2 bottles and she insisted CASH only but we saw people paying by credit and debit. they have the machine.. She wanted cash so easy money for her and she can get her tips right away which is cash! the second time we went to the machine to bring out cash for our 2 bottles, the machine run out of money.. We went outside to withdraw. We were outside for 30mins looking for atm machine nearby. after 30mins, my friend called us and said eventually the gurl bartender accepeted debit. So WHY would she not accept our debit in the first place and first insisted cash only? we missed few minutes outside instead of enjoying with friends!! Muzique, u are so fancy club yet money grabbers! u wanted cash when infact we paid almost $240 for each grey goose. Unbelievable service. take note, we had 3 bottles for $240 each. So almost $720 and we did not even get a good service. Btw, the soap dispenser in the ladies bathroom was just re use. it was an empty bottle of windex!! Yikes. See pictures below! This is my lasttime in musique. U lost a good customer. Bye

Isabel M.

Yelp
good music but very busy, not spacious at all. I was constantly getting knocked around by people. my friends and I had a bad experience while someone was getting thrown out. the bouncers violently threw someone out and knocked my friend into the wall while doing it. they did not have any care for anyone else around them and were laughing as they threw the man out and hurt other people in the process.

Mikaela B.

Yelp
I had the time of my life Mark is amazing talk to him, everyone was so welcoming and the staff was so good. I can't wait to go back! we had some difficulties but mark was so understanding and helped us out so much we will definitely be back I enjoyed it so much!

Yelp
out of all my nights out in Montreal the night I went to Muzique was by far the most fun! The place plays a great music selection and has scattered platforms to dance on. The bartenders were professional and fast, getting a drink in less than a minute. If you're out in Montreal I'd definitely stop by here!

Yelp
Words can't describe the extent of agony that I endured at this place. I am still in shock, unable to fathom how a human being can have so much malice and evil in their hearts. I have never left a review on google before, which only goes to show the level of mistreatment that I experienced. I entered the club w my gf, while inside I received a phone call that they would not let my buddy in cause he was wearing the wrong pants. Mind you I had already paid 50 bucks for tickets and coat check. I did not want to leave the club since I already paid but I also did not want to leave my friend alone. So in my drunken moment of genius, i had decided to switch pants w my buddy (since I already had a ticket and he j needs to get in). Upon the bouncer seeing what I had done, he decided to ban us both from the club (lmfao). I told him I at least j need to get my gf and coat and he said to give him the ticket and he'll grab the coat for me. The problem is my gf had my wallet and did not have her phone. I tried to explain this, but to no avail. So I just waited, in the freezing cold, on the off chance that my gf decided to leave. He refused to reason w me at all. And this is the cherry on top of the wtf muzuique sundae, I sat next to the furnace (outside the line) and the bouncer came and removed the furnace so that I would go away. Please note that I have lived my whole life in the middle east, where the coldest temperature I had experienced was well into double digits. This man refused to let me get my coat, my gf, my wallet, banned me from the club, and j for shits and giggles, he removed the furnace away. May god strike me dead if I am ever seen anywhere near this club again.

Yelp
I'm quite tentative about giving Muzique three stars, but two stars felt too low as well. Maybe 2.5? The lineup for the club stretched on for ages on Saturday night at around 1 am. By the time I got into the club, all my pre-drinking was absolutely wasted and I felt almost sober. When you enter, you can either go down a floor for coat check or you can climb up the stairs to pay for your entrance fee of $15 and enjoy Muzique. Upon entering, the club is lit up in neon colors and swarmed with sweaty bodies. They have very sticky seats on the side, a bar at the back, another bar in the centre, an uncooperative photographer and a separate room with chandeliers. They also have tiny raised platforms that are not tall enough to suit my dancing needs. Drinks are SO expensive- 3 shots of vodka cost $17. Like what? That is insane pricing. The dj glows in the middle of the dance floor and mixes up mainstream and obscure dance music. The club atmosphere is great, but the people in it are not. Lots of sleazy people will hit on you (of course), so it's best to come with a group of friends you trust. I actually clung onto my male friend for dear life in Muzique. The washroom is disgusting. The floors are sticky, the toilets are clogged, and the females crowd around the inside to make the tiny space even tinier. Muzique is an okay club but I ended up leaving at 3-4 am because I needed more alcohol, but cheap alcohol. I probably won't come back.

Yelp
I was robbed. Literally. ***Do not visit Muzique!!!*** I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and as soon as we entered it seemed hectic- I know, it's a club, but as we walked up the stairs, the bouncer was yelling in a girl's face for asking to re-enter. So, not a great start. We got inside and started dancing, and I went to the bar to buy a drink. As I was heading back to meet my friends, a woman bumped into my purse and it got "snagged" on her arm. When it returned to me, my phone was gone. I asked for help from the bartenders and then bouncer, who told me to screw off and "take better care of myself." I spoke to three other girls who had also "lost" their phones that night. I asked to leave my email with the manager, and he refused and said there was no chance I would get my phone back. I said I would file a police report since I thought I was robbed, and they threatened to kick me out. I filed a police report the next morning, and the officer informed me that the police service was aware of a scam being run at this club. Apparently MANY visitors have their phones stolen every night. Since this happened last weekend, my iPhone was located in ALGERIA through findmyiphone. Texts and emails have been sent to the information available from my appleID trying to scam me, and I'm very concerned that I will be hacked somehow. I CANNOT stress this enough. If you're visiting Montreal, do not go to Muzique!!!

Yelp
Really fun club with great music!! Workers are really nice as well. Come around 10:30-11ish to avoid long lines, especially for coat check!!

Yelp
Where do the local's and industry people go on Sunday nights? Muzique and for good reason! Located on Le Mile End, you can't miss the line; we walked by around midnight and there were 2 lines (one for people with bottle reservations and another for people on the guestlist). Three girlfriends and I didn't think we would have a problem getting in as 4 girls but as we were a bit under-dressed, we had a wait a little. Like any popular establishment, security was good with letting in VIP's and people with table reservations first. We saw a lot of people leave after getting up to the front but it was usually guys who were dressed like they weren't trying to impress anyone so guys- put on something nice. Ladies were dolled up but not necessary (however if you want to get in faster, go as a group of girls or get a table). We got lucky and Jason pulled us in after we were debating to leave or not. We got in free so kudos for getting us in! The place is spacious and with about 3 bars, it was still a bit crowded to get drinks. After you get checked by security and/or have to pay cover, you walk up some stairs and are greeted by dance music with the lights and tons of people. Walk towards the back and you'll find the bathroom and hip hop music. The back was super crowded and the ventilation wasn't so good so didn't spend too much time there. Overall, had a great time and loved seeing how industry night goes down in Montreal! Will def. be back. Knocked off a star for the dirty bathrooms and cigarettes & glasses being thrown off the terrace.

Yelp
A bit grungy and low key but that has an appeal of its own. Drinks for women on Thursdays are free. You only need to tip for the bartender. I preferred not to Coat check at this location. I would say check it out if you love Latin music

Nichole T.

Yelp
I'm from New Jersey in the USA. Went to Muzique on a Saturday night, arrived around 11:30-12ish. Went with 10 people. Didn't have to wait long outside and thank goodness because it was COLD. My friend signed us up on the guest list online so she had to show a code to the bouncer at the door, who gave us a ticket. When we gave the ticket to the man collecting the cover he informed us that bc of doing the guest list the cover was only $5. Then an optional $4 coat check. The woman working the coat check reminded us to take pictures of our slips to get the coats in case they were lost. Great idea because my friend lost one! Shots are pretty cheap, roughly $3-$5 Canadian. Cranberry vodka was kind of a lot, $8.50 Canadian. No chance of over pouring either because they have an automated bar tending system that pours for the bartenders. If you use USD they don't do a conversion rate for you so make sure to exchange first before going. It was supposed to be EDM night but the majority of the club really enjoyed the DJs hip hop music so he ended up playing mostly that all night. Usually there is a second room open in the back but it was not open when I went (mid January). Read reviews prior to going so I brought a purse with me that had zipper and a button to avoid people stealing. Told all my friends to keep their phones in their front pockets and keep an eye on them. We had no issues with stealing because we were cautious. Had a really REALLY good time. Lots of Americans there though, very touristy!

Mish W.

Yelp
Worst place ever. Waited in line for an hour snd didn't get in. The bouncer let in people who skipped the line and had no regard for anyone who was waiting. Got pushed around in the line so hard that me and 2 of my friends fell on the ground and when we brought it up with the bouncer he said "I don't care". Bought tickets to an event and didn't get in. Worst place ever. Go someplace else I promise you'll have a 10x better tjme.
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
If I signed up on the guest list does that mean I still have to pay the cover? Also wondering if there is a required time to be at the clubs if your on the guest list?
google avatar

Yelp
I love how this guy Jason is calling people out who left awful reviews. The best clubs aren't on here trying to defend themselves and "call out" patrons. You'd think a good business would take the feedback to become better. Check out my response to him calling me out: Actually, you know what a sad story is? You being in denial and trying to defend a crappy club based on a review that was written in April. It's even sadder for a club that has barely 2 1/2 stars on Yelp and equally crappy reviews on Trip Advisor and other club review sites. And you're calling my review out? Listen, I realize you're probably a new young promoter trying to make your club relevant again. In that case, I hope you enjoy peddling flyers to naive tourists and underage Montreal teens on St. Catherine St. because that's good as it will get for Muzique unless something amazing happens. Muzique's only claim to fame was having Avicii there....oh 3 years ago. In addition, I can tell you probably still wear rhinestone Ed Hardy and Affliction t-shirts with True Religion jeans. Or maybe your more accustomed to wearing all black with a vest and fedora-the typical generic uniform of wannabe promoters trying to make a name for yourself. As for you 1986 comment, perhaps you should check out real clubs in NYC like Pacha and LAVO which happen to be some of the best clubs in North America. You could start taking notes there to see how it's really done or go to any of the clubs owned by the Light Group in Las Vegas. Maybe you should take what you learn and stop being an amateur club employee who thinks he knows quality nightlife(which you clearly demonstrated that you don't know) since you're resorting to defending this crap club on Yelp. If you do need business, I'm sure they selling "We're on Yelp" stickers on ebay you can put on your door.

Yelp
As out of towners, my friend and I happened to stumble into Muzique by way of two cute friends that we met. Fortunately they were also friends with the promoter who was able to get us in without a cover and skipping the line. Once inside we were able to get drinks relatively easily and the bartenders were very friendly. Living in NYC and being very familiar with the club scene I would say that Muzique lacks in a few aspects. First I think that the coat check line should never be as long as it was considering the club is in Montreal and the winters are brutally cold. If you know the demand is going to be high (aka everyone who enters will be wearing multiple layers and coats) it would be beneficial to hire more staff to do the coat check. Additionally, I had to enter a back room to pay with my credit card instead of paying by the bar. It as a bit odd. Other than these two aspects, we had an amazing time. The electronic dance music room DJ played awesome tracks and the hip hop room offered a completely different setting with additional great music. We stayed until close and even came back for Industry night the following Sunday night. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy Industry night as much as I did the night previous but overall, I would say that Muzique is a good place to go to if you want to dance with your friends. It was also spacious enough that I didn't feel cramped and uncomfortable. As a side note, the stamps that we got both nights are still imprinted on my wrist and on my hand. Despite multiple attempts at scrubbing it off with soap and then rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover, the Muzique logo still remains. Considering that I work in a professional setting, its a bit embarassing to have these club stamps on my hands. Maybe the club can consider using different ink, one that is more washable off of skin. Just a thought!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night for a friend-of-a-friend's birthday. There was a guest-list set up and a large corner booth was reserved for the group. Before going, I had read reviews on Yelp and was a little apprehensive because of the poor ratings people had given it. I'm not on the up-and-up on the Montreal club scene as I abandoned it some time ago, but nevertheless I went with a somewhat open mind. We arrived at about 11:15-11:30ish, and we had no trouble getting in through the guest-list line despite what others had written. We were escorted upstairs by a hostess, where she waited for us to get through coatcheck (which is a little high by my standards, at 3.50$) and brought us to our table. The decor in the main "techno/dance" room is what you would expect from a room dedicated to this kind of music - lots of bright blues and pinks and whites. We didn't spend much time in this room as we were put in the hip-hop room. The hip-hop room, as others have mentioned, is smaller with an alright decor - deep red walls with a tacky (sorry) renaissance-ish theme. I did however like the booths; they were a good size which accommodate large groups, such was the case for our party. The staff was attendant and made sure we had plenty of mixers and ice. The music was fun and lively; it was reminiscent of my highschool days - Faith Evans, Wayne Wonder, B2K... It was a good time and kept the party going. One thing I could've done without was the extremely intoxicated girl that barfed all over the floor just a few feet from us. Good thing someone alerted the bouncer immediately who had it cleaned up. I think it would've been a good idea to cut her off and kick her out, but that's just me. Another was that as we were leaving (thank god), the group of guys who were at the bar next to us started getting really rowdy and out of hand, and started pouring their bottle of Jack all over people walking by. We were lucky to slip by without getting sprayed, but it was a downer. All in all, I had a great time; not the best club I've been to, but offered a fun and lively atmosphere. Don't know why everyone has spoken so ill of this place.

Yelp
For a place that is supposed to be where Montreal's "elite" frequent, I have to say, I was underwhelmed by Muzique. I came here Saturday night, for Halloween. And maybe it was the weather (i.e. THE SNOW!) that prevented people from going out, but Halloween at Muzique was unimpressive. Muzique, as small as it is, is made up of 2 rooms: one dedicated to RnB, the other to pure house. You can tell which one is more popular as the RnB room was ALWAYS PACKED whereas the house room was...not. The music was decent, although the djs had some issues and the music actually stopped for a couple minutes (he was heckled, the poor guy). One of the bartenders was super bubbly and nice, even while a couple of douchebags heckled and harassed her by throwing straws and napkins at her. The bouncers were also really nice, not like other places where the bouncers are complete tools. Overall, Muzique was A-OK, but I don't think I would come back unless for an event.

Yelp
Terrible service, rude bartenders. Had my iPhone stolen here as well. Never again would not recommend.

Yelp
Typical club with bottle service and things like that. Security is pretty tight and on point within. Had witnessed two lassies about to throw down, but security arrived to quell it quickly. Nice mix of people in the crowd, was able to get a couple of dances with two different groups there... Would return on next trip. Cover was I thing 10-15, forgot how much the drinks were but I do not believe it will break your pockets
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
Hahaha puking drunk frat girls but a decent music scene so yeah 3 3 E. I would come earlier and not stay forever and def make it to the back room. Rock and roll

Yelp
I come to Montreal a few time a year now for a few decades... The night life on this trip seemed a bit slower, I arrived Thursday night and wandered the streets that night and Friday without actually entering a bar or club. On Saturday night I ended up in here. The cover was 15 Canadian, and the drink prices were 8.50 for a house Vodka and tonic and 5.50 for a shot of Vodka. The music was decent I guess. The atmosphere was shooting for an international scene and they did seem to have a bit of that. At 11:15 a certain amount of people actually seemed to leave. Not sure what has been happening in this town for their clubs, but my impression is the biggest rooms have either closed or been reformulated to just have live music and big name DJ's maybe. It was an ok place. Can't really judge too much. Met up with one of the people working there, a dude named Dino and he was pretty hospitable and engaging as someone who works in this industry should be. I got the feeling walking around for the three nights that the younger generation as opposed to mine just doesn't quite do the clubbing thing the same way as mine did. Less actual dancing and more selfies and hanging out at private booths and such...

Yelp
Went to Muzique on a Saturday night. Had to stand in line for almost 45 minutes just to enter. The girls bathroom was covered in water from a clogged toilet, and it cost me $45 for four drinks for my friends. Keep an eye on your surroundings, as I had multiple grown men grabbing at me in the club. Other than that, both DJs played great music, cool lights, and everyone was generally happy and kind.

Laurita P.

Yelp
I can't give a no star,!line was long to begin with security guards disrespecting guests in line. We are from Toronto, the cops came in and harassed a lot of people and even broke my friends Ontario identification. Music was basic club music, atmosphere was basic club atmosphere.
google avatar

Nathan S.

Yelp
A one star rating seems awfully generous considering the treatment I and a few others received here. Bouncers were being incredibly rude and repeatedly harassed me for taking a sip of my girlfriend's drink because she bought it for "ladies night prices". Terrible experience and one of the worst clubs I have ever gone to. Watered down drinks and rude staff do NOT make this a venue that I would recommend. Tokyo is a much better club and right down the street. DO NOT GO HERE!

Pavaneet P.

Yelp
A group of us were visiting from Toronto for a bachelorette. Got a booth here and had a horrible experience. There was a bouncer outside yelling at everyone for no reason. We stood in line for 30 minutes even though we had reservations since they forgot to get our booth ready. The music was alright, it was mostly Drake and felt more like a Toronto club scene. Mark is apparently some type of manager at Muzique and lied to our group repeatedly. He lied about the price initially, and at the end of the night charged us $300 more than was advertised. They closed at 1am, which is pretty early. We only got to stay for an hour and still had 2 full bottles (completely untouched) by the time the night ended. Mark was being super nice and to make up for the "misunderstanding" about the price, advised us to take our full bottles with us to our airbnb and hide it in our coats when passing by the bouncer. He set us up and had the rude bouncer grab our coats and take the bottles from us. Will never visit again.

Yelp
Bad service, horrible crowd and bouncers that will discriminate against you if you don't look like a typical club goer. It's a bad club with the only redeeming quality being the fact that they get okay DJ's from time to time. Unless it's for a specific DJ, don't waste your time and money there. The coat check takes way too much time and sometimes they make you wait outside in the cold for a looong time before letting you in. Side note: most of the positive reviews on G+ are obviously fake, which tells a lot about what kind of place it is. They fake good reviews and still end up with less than 4 stars...

Yelp
One of the worst behavior that I've received in Montreal. I would never go to this club again! Their behavior was so rude. I've never expected someone asking me to show your money. My friend passed out and the manager was laughing and asking to bring her to another area cause that's bad for their business!!! I found so many animals their without any human beings. NEVER GO THERE THAT PLACE IS SUCKS!!!

Yelp
This club was absolutely amazing. With V.I.P it's only $5. They have two dance floors(hip-hop &EDM) and a terrace. It was such a great vibe and drinks were good. Everyone was supper friendly and fun. I would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Good music with 2 different rooms. As far as bouncers go, Michaels cool but the other bouncer has a very fragile ego

Yelp
One of the worst experiences of my life. The most awful environment for women just trying to have a good time with her friends. The men in the club are extremely rude, sexually aggressive, and do not understand the concept of no. The bouncers in the club could care less about the women and how they were being treated. Would never ever recommend this club to someone who would like to feel safe.

Yelp
Music was horrible and really killed the vibe. No diversity in the music they played.

Yelp
The reviews below me are correct when they talk about the lineups. Once it hits around 11:30 the line up is actually insane. I bought a whiskey sour for 8.50$ last night so to give you guys a rough idea of how much drinks are there. The music was overall pretty good, and the crowd was good. Even the security is pretty decent which is a shock because it's no surprise some bouncers can be a little bit on a power trip. Definitely will return in the future when I'm in Montreal, just make sure to come early!

Yelp
Aah where do I start. We stumbled upon this place in the street and decided to go in. The line was super long so we thought that was a good sign. There is a cover of $15 and charge for cost check. There's like 4 bouncers at the door who all look unfriendly and intimidating. I was under the impression that they're there to keep creeps away but they didn't do their job. Once in the place, it was huge and there was two rooms and nice ambiance. But the place is filled with creepy guys who assume you want them to touch you if you just glance your way. Literally you cannot escape these men in here, especially if you're with your other girl friend. Crazy. We had to spend the entire night warding off men and their arms. But the music was bangin so we multi tasked the night away. That's why I had to give it 3 stars. Also the female dancers in the stages were corny and too much.

Yelp
Don't waste your time with this place. I had a very bad experience. A friend and I were hanging out on the terrace and we began smoking. His cig was lit but mine wasn't. We are from out of town so we had no idea that there is a policy against smoking in the clubs, but the employee who confronted us about it was actually quite polite. He told us it would be fine if we just went outside and smoked. So we did. It's worth mentioning at this point that as we left the club the bouncer stole my friend's cigarette (no longer lit). Afterwards we walked around for a bit, and then returned to the club. It was then that the bouncer outside told us we wouldn't be allowed back in. Not only was he dismissive and condescending, but he refused to listen to what we had to say. He made it clear that there was no way we were getting back in. Just like that, 15 dollars down the drain and my night was ruined. I'm sure to many Muzique is a decent place with a good vibe, but quite frankly, the $15 cover is not worth the overpriced drinks and long lines. The incident with the bouncer was the last straw. Overall, a shitty experience. I wish I could give 0 stars. Edit: Looking through the other reviews here, I can tell that the bouncers seem to be a common issue. Management should look into that.

Yelp
Rudest staff ever. Completely humiliated my boyfriend at the door on our 3rd night there for wearing shorts..... very nice shorts for going out.... Then continued to yell at us in french for no reason. Don't go here

Yelp
I was told that Muzique was one of the best clubs in Montreal and i found that it was one of the worst clubbing experience i had. I went on a saturday night and the club was way too packed we couldn't move around or dance without getting pushed around or stepped on. The bartenders were rude and we had to wait so long to even get a drink. After paying 15$ cover ,when there wasn't even an event, we couldn't even get a glass of water without being disrespected. The bouncers were also rude and not helpful at all. I often club in Montreal but Muzique is for sure a club i will never go to again.

Yelp
"Hey man what's the crowd like inside?... ...mixed bag. 20 year olds 35 year olds" Definitely not. They conveniently forget to tell you that they drop off university kids by the bus load. Not the place for a night out if you're over 25

Yelp
Went here last night (nov 1st 2019) and the bouncer was so rude to us. Didn't even care to explain to us why we each had to pay cover twice (was with a group) of friends and it was one of my friend's birthday. This legit killed the vibe of the evening, given the bad reputation of altercations and theft this club already has, we're definitely not stepping foot in there again!

Yelp
This club is one of the worst I've ever been to. I felt like I was trapped in some 90's time vortex. The crowd was not really what I expected it to be...

Yelp
Muzique is a great night club. i go there all the time! it has great music and isolates the hiphop room from the house and techno room, so you can listen to whatever you desire. the best is the terrasse which is opened year round and gives you a place to smoke, or, in my case, cool off from all my dancing.

Yelp
Pretty awesome place. They do have a coat check in case anyone was wondering, because I couldn't find any information about it anywhere. The atmosphere is great and they play really good songs. There's an A&W right across the street so you can go there for a snack after. The people are great and the drinks are great. 10/10 would go again
